System restore not working, even with recovery disks

I have a Touchsmart Tx2 1020us. I want to completely restore it to factory settings.
when i use the recovery manager it pops up saying that there isn't a recovery partition and to insert disk #1. i bought the recovery disk set from HP and put disk 1 in. it then says to click on next. when i click on next the computer just shuts itself down. it never restarts, just turns itself off.
i also tried using the "press f11 repeatedly at startup" method. after pressing f11 a ton of times my computer just begins this shrill beeping sound and will not stop until you stop pressing f11.

any ideas on how to get this stupid system restore to work?

Since you deleted your recovery partitions and your recovery disk set has issues you will need to purchase a set of recovery disks from HP or from an HP Partner. the cost is around $25.00 USD.
It is unfortunate, but when you deleted the recovery partitions you limited the options that were previously available to you.
Nonexistance or modification of the recovery partition is the reason that neither F11 from startup nor Recovery Manager from within Windows does not work.

Hyjacked HP G56 ~ restore not working ~ Even to origonal config.

Friday at 10am I noticed my emails stopped. i have outlook express.
I went to yahoo and could not sign in.
I changed my password 4 times , no luck.
I went to a site that said yahoo fix, thought I was dealing with yahoo
but pretty sure it was an indian that just wanted $199.99 to do a online fix.
He took control of my computer and showed me how someone possessed it. My administration was hacked too.
So for 2 days tried to do a "restore" to an earlier time. Each time after my attempt I recieved a message
restore failed.
I tried to do the back up disks when I got this HP but failed...it downloaded about 80% then stopped.
I am not afraid to lose everything on my computer. Could this evil person have messed with my bio's or
if I bought HP resstore CD's should I be okay ?
Still dont know what to do about Yahoo mail. I had a sbcglobal email and they merged with
Yahoo..now yahoo is ATT. Yahoo said go to ATT.
Att does not care.
for today, I would just like to get an opinion that a fresh windows install would work.

It is unlikely that someone has messed with anything but stealing your e-mail account which I hope you can get closed.
System restore, while it normally works, does not always work.
If your notebook has a recovery partition, you should be able to restart the PC, tap the F11 key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to launch the system recovery manager program.
See if you can use that to reset your PC to factory state.
Back up any files first before proceeding.
If the F11 doesn't work, then you will need to purchase a set of recovery disks.
Also, if you have W7 on your PC and you can read the 25 character windows 7 product key on the bottom of your PC, you can make your own plain W7 installation media by reading the info below.
Use your 25 character W7 product key to install and activate Windows 7.
Follow these instructions and see if you can get W7 installed that way.
I would use the MS ISO to USB tool.
Make absolutely sure you get the entire ISO file when you see the download complete message.
Sometimes it reports the download is complete and your ISO file is much smaller than what it said was downloading.
Use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.

Notebook won't start(kw831ua#aba)cnf81347bp even with recovery disks

i have a compaq presario f762nr notebook when i start the computer it is a black screen with the underscore cursor flashing and the goes to the start up screen to choose esc,f1,f2,f9,f10,f11. when trying to look at the bios i am asked for a password why ? I have tried the recovery disk that i sent for but does not seem to help. it won't let me start the system recovery using f11. what else can i try?

Satellite Pro A300-1A8 Vista system restore not working

I wanted to use system restore due to attempting to reconfigure administrator rights, its somehow deleted all my shortcuts on my menu and messed about with a few things.
However when i try to use system restore (i have attempted to use it in safe mode, via cmd promp, both together and normal boot), yet all seem to stay hanging in the same green page where it reads something along the lines of 'system is initialising restore etc' (spending 45 mins on this page before i get fed up and shut down the computer). I have tried using different restore points but the same occurs. It like its not working at all.
Can anyone help with this please?

You mean the Vista tool which can be found in (Start button -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore) does not work and you cannot set back the Vista to the early time point?
Well, usually there is no much to do to restore the OS to the early time point you have to star the system restore tool and have to choose the restore point. Then everything should run automatically.
If this doesnt work then something is messed up as you said in your posting above somehow deleted all your shortcuts on my menu and messed about with a few things possibly the OS has been messed to.
Try to clean the OS using the free software for example CCLeaner. I use it too. Its great. Repair and clean the OS and check if its possible to use the system restore tool again.

USB Ports on 3 month old Satellite C655-S5049 do not work-even after Recovery to "Out-of-Box" state

Hello - Hoping someone can help with another suggestion- it doesn't look good.
Both USB ports on my wife's 3 month old Satellite C655-S5049 are non-functional with any USB device. Flash drives, wireless mouse, and external hard drive (powered) that all work on all of my other computers, do not work in either of this laptop's USB ports.
This problem seems to have developed gradually, and became noticeable previously as non-responsiveness in the wireless mouse, which gradually became a concern, with the computer appearing to freeze or lock-up - probably because of the number of times the mouse was clicked on shortcuts and executables before something happened.
The ports are now completely "dead"- no recognition of anything inserted once the computer is up and running.
There appears to be a thermal component involved, since I was able to get the devices recognized and working for up to a minute when booting the computer with the devices in the ports after it had been off for several hours after I did the default state recovery. The flash drive and mouse were recognized, drivers loaded message, but they then went to "unplugged" before I could get the cursor moving. I was able to access the flash drive, since I did it as soon as the driver loaded, but then it disappeared ("un-plugged" itself in the driver loaded message box). I can also get them recognized from this COLD boot state when I immediately plug them in once Windows 7 (64) loads, but they quickly disappear. If I wait a few minutes before re-booting, they flash during the Windows boot, but drop-out before it completes. If I wait 3-4 hours to re-boot, they flash (are recognized) for about a minute (Windows completely loads), but then they drop out.
I tried all of the suggestions on this board (and others) before doing a Recovery to Factory Default state. I have tried it with the original version 1.20 Bios, and with the version 1.50 Bios update. All driver updates have been downloaded and installed. The laptop does occasionally lock-up at the Toshiba screen during boot, and is verrrry slow in some operations (2 hours to do the recovery discs). The only other noticeable problem (at this time) is an occasional drop-out of wireless (Atheros AR9285) connectivity, which I have been blaming on the router since it is sporadic and infrequent (not consistent with the thermal argument). These problems are all after the Factory Default State recovery operation, so my assumption is that they are hardware based.
Any suggestions for a solution? This is a standard spec Satellite C655-S5049 that I was considering adding another 2GB memory to, but now I am unsure of its' future. A laptop cooler that runs from a USB port seems counter-productive.
I am technically capable, so you can be much briefer in your response than I have been in trying to fully detail the problems. This isn't the NVidia chip, but it does bring back memories of laptops past.

System Events not working correctly with Acrobat Professional

Hey Guys, I have a script that I have written that automatically enables security settings on a PDF through Acrobat Professional. Because of Acrobats poor scriptability I am forced into doing much though System Events.
This is not a major problem... however when activating some settings in the security settings, often warning Alert dialog boxes appear when you tell System Events to enable particular settings. These Alerts do not have a title... The only way I have been able to get the script to deal with them is with the following code:

I guess this is an ok solution... bit hard to identify windows when they don't have titles...
BUT this is not my main problem. The main problem is that the script gets to one of these alert dialog boxes and just sits there... It sits there for like 10 seconds and then it performs the "click button "OK"" command.
This is a problem as there are like 3 of these instances and it really adds up. Can anybody help me... I am using Acrobat Professional 8.2.0 and the entire code is:

Boot Camp will not work after installing recovery disk

I purchased a refurbished Macbook Pro 2012. I went ahead and installed dual ssds and used the Mac OS X recovery disk from USB flash drive. I wanted to install WIndows 7 through bootcamp. Bootcamp will not start after selecting continue. I'm not sure if boot camp is corrupted or something I did wrong.

Well you'll need to see if that remote app has an update or if it is compatible with IOS 7.

Lenovo IdeaPad G460 system restore not working / kernel poewr error

The problem is that I am unable to turn on system restore. It gives an error message when I try to allocate space (0x8007007B). Volume Shadow Copy service is running and is in automatic mode. Another problem is that my system freezes and I have to power it off. Even viewer has an error with event id 41 kernel-power. .

if you need to perform clean windows installation, shut down your computer and press one key recover button ( arrow sign ) to perform clean windows installation.
if you need restoring point, you may need to activate it.

Form submit not working even with usage rights enabled

Hi everyone,
I created a form in Acrobat 7 professional (mac version), then used Acrobat 8 (windows version) to enable usage rights.
I have the following javascript code attached to a submit button:

When I test the form in the full version of Acrobat by pressing the submit button, it automatically launches my email program, attaches the form's .fdf file and addresses the email, ie. just as the code directs. The problem is that when I try and test in either Acrobat 7 or 8 Reader, it won't work, ie. I press the submit button but the email program doesn't open etc. As I said, I've already enabled usage rights in Acrobat 8 so I don't know why it's not working.
Can someone tell me what might be going wrong?

if you look up the mailForm in the JavaScript reference guide, you see it's marked with the letter 'F', meaning that the PDF requires Form rights in order for this method to work in Reader.
Now as you rightly say you can use Acrobat 8 pro to extend a PDF with usage or Save rights. (These will be marked by the letter 'S' in the JS reference guide.)
In short when you enable a PDF in Acrobat pro, you 'only' assign Save rights. This is not sufficient for the mailForm method to function in the free Reader.
For mailForm to work in the reader you need to assign a PDF with form rights, which can only be done using LC Reader extensions.
Hope this clarifies things.

This has in pack original installation cd.after installing card and everything when i try to run installation cdit says "No sound card installed please insert soundblaster ".i have os win Xp with sp 2 now after investigating through all the post in this forum i have tried everything but yet not succeeded.My message to moderator and compny personnel is that even the new installation cds does not have solution for such problems than if they knew its difficult they should insert small notes atleast that givena hassle free installation so we dont hvae to go and start hunting for the solutions.i was great fan of creative but this has revealed their true face.My final request is atleast provide the working solution for my problem.Expecting prompt action.

First of all you need to get into the setup menu when the computer is turned on. Hit the del key and it should bring up that menu. DO NOT CHANGE ANY SETTINGS NO MATTER WHAT!! Look for the sound settings which are usually hidden clear at the bottom of the menu on one of the settings. It shoud say onboard sound enabled. You have to use the arrow keys since the mouse doesn't work in the menu so don't try to use it. Now when you find the onboard sound you have to disable it in order for the new card to be recognized. If you got the motherboard book with the system then read it. It shows how and where to look for this setting. Good Luck

When is the patch anticipated for our C5's to fix the broken clock problems?
If it just displayed the wrong time it would be one thing, but since it affects the ordering of text messages displayed et al, it's a bit more of a catastrophic issue.
Others have reported that hard resetting the device only lasts momentarily and that the bug is pretty fatal.

Since you upgraded the Router WRT54GS with the latest firmware so once reset the Router and power cycle the whole network… Then connect the Modem with Linksys Router on the Internet Port and then connect any one computer to any one of the Ethernet port on the Router [Numbered – 1, 2, 3 and 4]… Let me know the RCN connection is a DSL connection or cable connection…

now the problem is fixed by placing tables clause right after the connection string like this:
expdp ktbdba/password@KTBDB_TNS tables=a.tabl1, a.tabl2, a.tabl3, a.tabl4 directory=tmp_dir dumpfile
=tabledumptest.dmp logfile=tabledumptest.log;
but i when i import a.tabl1 2 3 4 into another schema B. I got another error
ORA-39002: invalid operation
ORA-39040: Schema expression " IN ('A')" must identify exactly one schema.
here is the impdp command:
impdp tbdba/password@KTBDB_TNS tables=b.tabl1,b.tabl2,b.tabl3,b.tabl4 directory=tmp_dir dumpfile=tisbnk_ktbv_tbls_export.dmp logfile=tisbnk_ktbv_tbls_import.log;
why did this happen.

System Recovery is not working From HP Recovery Manager. so i cant restore my laptop to its original factory condition. (Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium).
so when i restart my computer and press Esc and then choose F11 i get this message :
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the
cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer
manufacturer for assistance.

Had the C partition been split/shrunk to form a new partition previously?
Does disk management show the HDD as basic or dynamic? (Start>Right-click Computer>Manage>disk management on the left).
If it has been switched to dynamic (Windows does this automatically when more than 4 partitions are present on the disk), then the F11 recovery partition won't function until it is restored to basic, but I would like to confirm that is the scenario before providing those steps.
The Disk management shows that my HDD as Dynamic, what should i do then if this is the case and the possible solution to my problem?

If you have more than 4 partitions you will need to delete the extra partition/partitions, then convert the hdd back to Basic.
