Sysvol wrap error
Here is a bit of an issue that can become a disaster ...
- we have a working PDC ( windows 2003 ) which looks healthy . GP works , scripts are fine. SYSVOL and NETLOGON available.
- we tried adding an additional DC , went fine but never got SYSVOL /Netlogon shares up. troubleshooting it led me towards
our "healthy looking" source PDC which has an error eveytime we restart NTFRS :
The File Replication Service has detected that the replica set "DOMAIN SYSTEM VOLUME (SYSVOL SHARE)" is in JRNL_WRAP_ERROR
from what I see , I need to enable "Journal Wrap
Automatic Restore " , but there is no other replicas of SYSVOL in any other DCs yet ; so I got a bit worried as it may just dig up a deeper hole for us by removing existing SYSVOL from PDC.
Any suggestions ? I still have access to SYSVOL . I can back it up using NT Backup ...
please note that this is the only DC with SYSVOL share .
I would do a d4 on the PDC and see if that straightens it out. The origin of the journal wrap in this situation is certainly perplexing, but resetting the frs database with a d4 gives you the chance to start from square 1.
If that goes fine, either demote and repromote the second DC or just do a d2.

Sometimes, when I try to use the wrap utility, I get some errors, like
kgefec: fatal error 0
kgepop: no error frame to pop to for error 603
I am not sure, but it seems to be related to the file size.
Any ideas?

Well, I think I have a problem. If I need to use a file for each package, it is not possible to use Oracle wrap, because the files we use to deploy our software have several packages, procedures, functions, etc, and changing this is not so easy.
Is there any other workaround? Or even a better way to protect our pls/sql packages instead of wrap?

We got a problem with replication of sysvol between domain controllers from different sites!
Replication of Active directory changes are ok!
Scenary:
Site 1:
Server 1 - Windows Server 2008 - PDC / GC
Server 2 - Windows Server 2008
Site 2:
Server 3 - Windows Server 2012 - GC
Replications are ok in Site 1 but Site 2 can't to replicate sysvol from Server 1.
What can I do to troubleshooting this problem?

What events do you see in NTFRS/DFSR event logs?
And most probably, it is a DNS issue. Second - if these sites are VPN
connected and have firewalls between them - are blocked ports.

Justified text wrap error CC vs CS6
I have a client that requires text files be set up in CS6. I have set up columns of justified text in CS6 but I have several words that are flowing outside the text box. When I open the file in CC it appears correctly.
I tried saving some test files from CC in CS6 format but still no go. Attached are images of the issue. I really hate to use forced line breaks. Is there some other setting that I'm not aware of that could help?
I much prefer to use InDesign for text formatting but all pharmaceutical packaging companies pretty much require the use of Illustrator and most are still using CS6 or CS5 so I'm stuck.

1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

SBS2011 Recovered from Missing SYSVOL and NETLOGON; looking for original cause - not restore related
Call from client that they couldn't login to their shares. Connected to the server and found SYSVOL and NETLOGON missing. This has happened 3 times on this server 2014-01-06, 2014-03-26, and 2014-06-04. Although I have documentation and can restore quickly,
preventing is out primary goal.
What are the situation is which tis might happen and possible event log items that can give us a warning that this may take place.Searched more for SYSVOL NETLOGON Repeat. I excluded the C:\Windows\sysvol directory from Anti-virus scan to prevent locks. Links are below.Thank you,

Since the PDC server was in Journal Wrap errors state and new DC was not having sysvol share avaialbe to fix the issue you need to first take the backup of sysvol and perfrom D4(authorative restore) and D2(non authorative restore) to fix the issue.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290762/
Also your first step should be finding why JRNL_WRAP_ERROR error has occurred. Normally, JRNL_WRAP_ERROR occurs due to drive/partition being corrupted, antivirus locking and corrupting the file during sysvol scan, heavy size of the files inside
sysvol and netlogon shares.
Run chkdsk in read only mode for any errors and if issue reported take the backup of server and run chkdsk/f.Exclude the sysvol/nrtds/sysvol from AV scan too.To fix the Journal wrap perfrom authorative restore assuming you have single DC.See below link too.

Since you have restored the DC to previous state check the health of DC by running dcdiag /q and also check event log for any errors and warning and post the same if any.

This a variation on a question that has been asked before but I haven't been able to find these exact circumstances.
I have (had) two domain controllers on a domain:
DC1 - Windows 2003
DC2 - Windows 2008 R2
AD and DNS replication was working fine but SYSVOL was not replicating to DC2, hence when DC1 would go offline due to an intermittent fault, users would be unable to login due to the NETLOGON share being unavailable. This was due I think to Journal Wrap
errors on DC1 preventing SYSVOL replication. I had planned to do a D4 D2 restore but unfortunately, DC1 died yesterday and cannot be resurrected. I did however make a copy of the SYSVOL directory before it died.
So what I have now is a Windows 2008 R2 domain controller (DC2) with an up to date AD and DNS but with a blank SYSVOL folder. I also have the SYSVOL folder from the failed DC1 on a USB drive.
My question is, can I just copy the backed up SYSVOL folder to DC2 or will it be corrupted in some way because of the Journal Wrap errors? And if so, do I have to follow it up with a D4 restore to reinitialize it? Also, will I need to recreate
junction points using linkd or will this info already be in the copied SYSVOL folder.
Apologies if this has been covered but most solution involve having a complete good domain controller on the network but I do not. FYI, for the time being, DC2 will be the only DC on the network until I can build a second.> My question is, can I just copy the backed up SYSVOL folder to DC2 or

Yes to all, and use linkd (or mklink which is part of 2008R2) to create
the junctions. The copy will not be corrupted.

Overriding eventdistributionpattern-pof throwing unable to load class error

We were trying to override the "coherence-eventdistributionpattern-pof-config.xml" with our own event distribution pof due to conflicintg type-id's. We changed type-id's for few of the classes. We changed the type-id for the following classes and left others as such.

DateTimeAxis min/max bug? Problems with consistent padding. Date Wrapping.
I have been working on a problem with a BarChart object that I've created using dynamic data.
My primary issue is that I can't seem to get the proper min/max values to set for the chart.
To solve this I manually found the min and max of the data set of Dates and set the min and max of the chart. This allowed me to finally see all the floating custom bars (each bar is rendered with a user set fill), however now if I have a bar that extends over a year change the horizontal axis labels do not wrap the date properly, so instead of 2/10 (feb 2010) being the last date, 12/09 (dec 2009) is the last date.
I've been trying to dynamically adjust the padding based upon a change event, but so far to no avail. Partially I think because I'm not sure which event for the function to fire on.

Alright, so I've discovered that the ONLY time the date wrapping error occurs is when the axis labels contain only the month and year, any other time it places it properly.

It's clearly not impossible, just different than you expect. Create your playlist as you want it to appear in the Current tab (meaning don't dump every single song from your library in there, just the ones you want) and then save the playlist.

Urgent - Error calling web service generated from plsql package
Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3 production release.
I am trying to publish a plsql packaged procedure as a web service.
My first question is -
When I am publishing the plsql API as a WS, should I choose the style Document/Wrapped or RPC Literal? Document Wrapped is the default in the wizard.
My second question - Depending on whether I choose Document/Wrapped or RPC Literal style, I get 2 different errors when I try to run the client java file (generated by Jdeveloper) that calls the web service. The client java compiles successfully but when I run I get these messages:

Now all the classes are generated by JDeveloper automatically from the plsql API. So I am not sure why the errors occur and how to fix these.
Also, these errors are occurring on plsql APIs that have input or output parameters of plsql record type or pslql table of record type. These errors don't occur if the api is simple with scalar input or output parameters only.
I would appreciate any help on how to resolve these errors.

I'm wondering if the problem is actually that the client is failing to connect to the server correctly. Can I suggest that you switch on the HTTP Analyzer and see what comes back there.
Is it possible it is a proxy problem? If you are working locally then I first suggest that you ensure that the Web Browser Proxy is off (see Tools -> Preferences -> Web Browser Proxy) - and that there are no exceptions listed (either with the proxy on or off) before you start the HTTP Analyzer.
