Sytem call utssys support in the future?

Question

Hi,
Does anyone know just how future proof utssys system call is considering future Solaris versions?
The reason I am asking is that it is not very well documented and the utssys.h header doesn't even contain the
function prototype of the utssys function call.
You can use it though by defining the function declaration yourself in source file:

Actually that is incorrect; the reality is a bit confusing. ACR is Adobe's RAW converter (as opposed to a DNG Converter) while DNG is Adobe's wanna-be-standard RAW file format. In Photoshop, for instance, ACR is used to open a RAW NEF file from Nikon, CRW file from Canon - or DNGs. Once opened/converted the files are no longer "RAW" and are then saved as PSD, TIFF, JPEG, whatever.
That's why I read the sentence as implying Apple made a DNG converter.
DNG is just another RAW format, and Apple's OS does read most RAW formats including DNG. However a "DNG Converter" converts one kind of RAW (like NEF or CRW) to another kind of RAW (DNG), so no Apple does not make a DNG converter while the OS does do RAW conversions.
Per Bruce Fraser (c. 2005): "Adobe DNG Converter is a handy standalone application that converts camera vendors' proprietary raw images to Adobe's new DNG format."
