T400 - Bluetooth Software - Unattended Install instructions/procedure required.

Hi all,
This is technically not a problem but an information request.
I need the info because it will save me making a more clunky solution and I know that it exists because the factory preload must have used SOME method to get this working automatically.
I know I have written a lot but its all relevant and I dont want someone from Lenovo to have to ask me three times for missing info so I have listed everything.
BASIC SCENARIO
ThinkPad T40 [6474-R1U]
Windows XP Corp w/ SP2 <NOT THE FACTORY PRELOAD OR A DERIVATIVE>
I have two T400 "prototypes" to work with in making the current corporate image work on this platform.
One has the test corporate image and one has the XP factory preload installed on it.
The SATA, sysprep, drivers, webcam-reboot-issue, etc have all been fixed and its gotten to a point where the Device Manager is clean as a whistle and no errors.
I am not new to this as our corporate image is my sole responsibility and it works perfectly on 7 different hardware platforms, 4 of which are laptops.
At the end of the re-image, the following software will be "silently" installed in the specified order ONLY if the system is detected to be a 6474-class Lenovo.
    [1] ACPI Power Management                    SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    N/A
    [2] Hotkey Utility                           SETUP.EXE /S         N/A
    [3] Lenovo System Interface Driver           SETUP.EXE /S         N/A
    [4] Keyboard Customizer Utility              SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    [1] & [2]
    [5] Presentation Director                    SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    [1] & [2] & [3]
    [6] ThinkVantage Access Connections          SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    [1] & [2]
    [7] Power Manager                            SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    N/A
[8] Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate Software    N/A                  N/A
All drivers are from Lenovo, the second field is the silent install command line and the third is the dependency table.
BASIC PROBLEM
As you can see, I dont have a method to do the silent install of the Bluetooth software.
I have tried SETUP.EXE -S -SMS and SETUP.EXE /S in the main folder and the Win32 sub-folder of the driver folder but no dice.
It doesnt do anything and leaving it sitting there for a while and then rebooting doesnt show the Bluetooth software installed after the reboot so I know it isnt working.
The SETUP.EXE -S -SMS switch is common to all software that uses InstallShield for installation as opposed to Lenovo proprietary software which uses the /S switch and the Bluetooth sofware DOES use InstallShield but the silent switch doesnt work.
The link on the website for the Bluetooth driver software is the ONLY driver I encountered that didnt list a silent method of installing it and there is no SW1.XML file in the driver folder either. I am pretty sure that the SW1.XML file is the file that the factory preload uses to install software after the PCI device enumeration.
Doing it manually [Setup.exe,Next,Next, etc,Finish] works like a charm and doesnt even require a reboot as the drivers were automatically installed during the Mini-Setup portion after the sysprep/re-image.
The best option would be for someone from Lenovo to let me know the command I need to run to get the silent option to install the Bluetooth software.
A secondary option would be for Lenovo to help me with the following in terms of procedure or just giving me the CMD files mentioned below.
On the laptop that has the factory preload, the swtools folder contains the drivers installed on that model and it has the same Bluetooth driver as on the website in that it has no SW1.XML or unattended information.
I came across the following file in its root folder which has some interesting info: c:\swtools\modules.log
Almost at the beginning are these entries
? evaluating filters for 4gglw6a1 - thinkpad bluetooth software for helike
? - filter returned true
? filter expression result is true
? evaluating filters for 4glth2a1 - thinkpad ms bluetooth inf for helike - copy only - lc
? - filter returned true
? filter expression result is true
searching for blue, the following entries much later in the file reference the ones above....
Thu 12/11/2008 23:04:28.84 Starting c:\swwork\other\4gglw6a1.cmd
ThinkPad Bluetooth Software for Helike
Thu 12/11/2008 23:06:12.29 Finished c:\swwork\other\4gglw6a1.cmd
Thu 12/11/2008 23:16:21.34 Starting c:\swwork\network\4glth2a1.cmd
ThinkPad MS Bluetooth INF for Helike - Copy Only - LC
Thu 12/11/2008 23:16:21.46 Finished c:\swwork\network\4glth2a1.cmd
Obviously having these CMD files at hand would be nice but the folder swwork referenced there doesnt exist as it was probably deleted after the preload process was completed.
I have a Ghost image of the factory preload when its "fresh" on the hard drive and hasnt been booted up even once.
I made it right after I slapped the pre-load on but before I booted it the first time.
I can re-image that laptop with that image and pause it before the deletion of that folder if it would help in me seeing the file in DOS [Winternals Remote Recover] but I would still need to know when to stop it, etc.
Thanks in advance. :-)

[8] Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate Software    N/A                  N/A
And what setup file? How do you activate BT when you can't activate it with FN+F5 when you receive a new machine and you must deploy an image on it?
Is it this:

I see that there is a Bluetooth Support File v1.00 from 2 june 2008 that is also needed or not? It's in the Vista categorie but when you open it, you can see in the readme file that there is also an explanation to install on xp

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67616
But the software doesnt install properly. Is there any other place where I can download genuine bluetooth software for WIACOMM for Vista.

Can you be more specific with your problem, please?

  • How to get and install the new MSI Bluetooth Software Package 1.4.3.3.

How to get and install the new MSI Bluetooth Software Package 1.4.3.3.
This little FAQ will only cover the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software Package.
First thing too do is unistall any older version of the MSI Bluetooth Software.
Do this through the Add/Remove program applet in your control panel.
There seams too be only through Live update you could get the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software Package.
If you can't see any enter for MSI Bluetooth Software in the Live driver section of Live update then you have too enter the following too your registry.
Create following code in Notepad and save it as MSILD.reg, then run the file.
    ;-->Code start
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MSI\Drivers\MSI Bluetooth Software]
    "DrvSetup"="1"
    "Version"="1.4.2.10"
    ;-->Code end
Rerun the Live update and hopefully you will now see a entry for MSI Bluetooth Software in Live driver section.
Install the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software and reboot your computer. Even if the setup program doesnt told you too doit.
After rebooting the computer you will see the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. If it's Red then try too start the Bluetooth services by right click on the try icon and the only alternetiv there is.
If the Bluetooth services is asking for a valid licens.dat then you should do the following.
Surf to Jon's Bluetooth guide http://www.jonsguides.com./bluetooth/prepare.html and download the patcher from the link there.
Unzip the the patcher and then run the BTWPatcher.exe program.
Now the Bluetooth services will start and you will bee able too configure your own settings for the Bluetooth services.
If nothing of this work you could try the complete Bluetooth solution at Jon's gudie and install the IBM version of the same program. I havent test this solution and will not do soo.

I have the MS-6968 device and i want to use driver 1.4.x or 3.0.x. I found the driver 1.4.2.10 but i cannot find any WIDCOMMSecurity code.
So, can anyone give me a link for BTWPatcher.exe???
It cannot be found here (Jon's Bluetooth ) anymore.
    Thanks

    Hello Negaz
When you uninstalled iTunes, did you uninstall it by using the article below or just uninstalled iTunes? The best practice is to remove not only iTunes, but also other associating software in the order that the first article give. If that does not work, then check out the second article for more troubleshooting options for connecting your iPhone to your computer.

Question : Are the "install instructions" the same as "Install Guide"?

    Hi Heidi,
The links to "install instructions" and the "Hello world" have the same endpoint? Is this correct?
If this is correct, it is working fine!

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
              iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Ignore any other messages that appear in the Terminal window.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Unattended install or Oracle9iR2 using responseFile on RHEL3

    Hi,
I am following this document to do the Oracle9iR2 install on RHEL3: http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml
The Manual installation went fine for me. But my requirement is to do an Unattended install so that I can write a script and deploy to the do further installations on machines.
    1) Following the same document, I create:
    --- Oracle users ---
groupadd dba # group of users to be granted with SYSDBA system privilege
groupadd oinstall # group owner of Oracle files
useradd -c "Oracle software owner" -g oinstall -G dba oracle
    passwd oracle
    --- Oracle directories ---
    mkdir -p /opt/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
    chown -R oracle.oinstall /opt/app/oracle
    mkdir /var/opt/oracle
    chown oracle.dba /var/opt/oracle
    chmod 755 /var/opt/oracle
    2) The Following are choices which I make in manual install ( and I need the same in responseFile also)
    /mnt/cdrom/runInstaller
    - Welcome Screen: Click Next
    - Inventory Location: Click Next
    - Unix Group Name: Use "oinstall" and click Next
When asked to run /tmp/orainstRoot.sh, run it before you click Continue
    - File Locations: Use default values
    - Available Products: Select "Oracle9i Database 9.2.0.1.0"
    - Installation Types: Select Custom since we only want to install the software for now
    - Available Products: Click Next or add some more components.
    - Components Locations: Accept default values and click Next
    - Privileged Operating System Groups:
I used the default values: OSDBA Group = dba, OSOPER Group = dba
    - Oracle Managent Server Repository:
    I used the default choice
    - Create database: Select NO since we first have to patch Oracle before a database can be created!
    - Summary: Start the Install
    - Configuration tools: Tools won't come up. Simply ignore it.
    - At the end of the installation, exit runInstaller.
I copied custom.rsp into the home directory and modified the following:
    UNIX_GROUP_NAME= oinstall
    ORACLE_HOME=/opt/app/oracle/
    ORACLE_HOME_NAME=OUIHome
and left the other entries in the response file (custom.rsp) as such.
When I do an unattended install using responseFile, the screen does not proceed.
The Universal Installer comes up and there is no progress!. ( Next is not pressed in the unattended fashion).
Can someone share with me a working copy of a responsefile which does an unattended custom install? I assume what is the response directory should be working one, but I am unable to figure out where I have gone wrong.
Where do I give OSDBAGroup = dba values? and how do I make it to go from one screen to next?
    Thanks in advance.
    Senthil

But my requirement is to do an Unattended install so that I can write a script and deploy to the do further installations on machines. Why write? You can record your own responfile (during manual install) and use it for future installs.
    ./runInstaller -record -destinationFile /tmp/myinstall.rsp

  • HIS 2013 HISServerConfig.xml example location and unattended install question

    Hello,
I've never used the unattended part of the installer but wanted to give it a try.  The installation guide refers to an example in the support\unattended_installs folder.  I don't see that folder or file on the media I down loaded.
The guild also instructs to "save" the configuration during setup to create my own xml.  I didn't see a "save" but tried using an export during my test unattended install but that didn't work.  I would appreciate any help/information.
    Thanks, Jim.

    Hi Jim,
you are right. Unlike stated in the Installation guide this folder doesn't exist.
    Anyway, here it goes:
When you install HIS the latest Setup/configuration screen will provide a link to create a XML file. Anyway, exporting the XML file out of the configuration utility will create the reference XML of your current installation and configuration.
You may modify the XML file according to the required settings of your new Server by changing the subdomain name, role,  etc....
Also please note that we do not store the password in the XML file for security reasons, so you need to add this manually.
Once done, please run a similar command according to you settings as below:
    Setup.exe /InstallPlatform /L c:\HISInstall.log /S c:\HISServerConfig.xml /INSTALLDIR C:\HIS Configuration.exe /L c:\ConfigFramework.Log /S c:\HISServerConfig.xml
    Options
The following table describes the command options.
    /InstallPlatform
This flag causes the installation program to install any platform prerequisites.
    /L c:\HISInstall.log
This flag determines the log file location that is created during setup.
    /S C:\HISServerConfig.xml
This flag specifies the configuration file (list of features) that is used on installation. The file "HISServerConfig.xml" contains information about which features to install and how they should be configured. Sample copies of these files are located
in the Support\Unattended_Installs directory of the installation folder. This file can also be created during setup by clicking Save in the summary panel of the Configuration Tool.
    /INSTALLDIR
This option tells Setup where to install the product.
The Setup.exe installs all required binaries according to you reference installation while the configuration.exe configures you HIS Server the same as the reference configuration.
    Hope that helps

  • Canon 860 Series (Pixma) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips

After spending several hours sorting out Canon Pixma OSX problems here are my thoughts:
Canon 860 Series (Pixma 868) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips
    Problem:
    - New imac and MacBook Pro 2012 (OSX 10.8.2) had a problem using Canon Pixma 868 printer on network and would not scan or print using Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print), which has advanced scanning and photo printing functions.
    - When I connected the canon printer to my imac, OSX 10.8.2 automatically downloaded and installed drivers for Canon 860 series printer. I could then add the new printer (select ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”) and printer would work while connected via USB but could not get to print or scan over network wifi.
    - The original Canon 860 Series CD does not work with 10.8 and the manual / online instructions did not make sense (as based on CD install).
    Solution:
    1) Install Canon Printer Drivers and Software (from official Canon site)
Go to canon support site, review FAQ, then download and install following Pixma 860 Series software & drivers for OSX 10.8 (links see below). The version I downloaded is in brackets but check for updated version. Full instructions are below.
Canon 860 Series Drivers & Software  for OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion:
The base software and drivers needed for using Canon 860 Series on Mac OS X 10.8 (USB) are
    1 Printer Driver
(Canon MX860 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 10.67.1.0 (03-Aug-2012))
    2 Scanner Driver
(Canon MX860 series Scanner Driver Ver. 14.11.4a (03-Aug-2012))
    3 Network Tool
(Canon IJ Network Tool Ver. 4.1.0 for Intel Mac (27-Dec-2012)
Canon Software for using advanced printing and scanning functions (while connected to network)
    4 Solution Menu
    (Canon Solution Menu Ver. 1.4.1 (27-Jul-2012 ))
    5 MP Navigator EX
(Canon MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 (02-Auf-2012))
    6 Easy-PhotoPrint EX
    (Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX Ver. 4.1.6 (21-Jan-2013 ))
Canon Support (HK) – check your local site
    http://www.canon.com.hk/en/download/main/index.do
Select Product and drivers from support site eg http://support-hk.canon-asia.com/
    1. Choose a product category
    Multifunctional Printers
    2. Choose a product series
      Pixma
    3. Choose a product model
      Pixma MX868
    4. Choose type of document
    Downloads or FAQ
If you have problems installing the software under 10.8, see the FAQ on Canon site. You will need to allow software installs from “unidentified developers by using “Control” Key or by changing your system preferences)
    2) Check Canon Printer and Software Working while connected via USB
Once you have downloaded and installed drivers and software and restarted computer, check that the printer and Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print) are working via USB.  Open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App) and make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it shows the correct SSID Wifi settings (under the Canon IJ Network Tool App ‘Setup menu’).  This is normally done as part of the automatic install but worth double checking
    3) Add new network printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”).
After you have checked USB printing turn off printer, unplug the USB cable and shutdown the Canon IJ Network Tool App.
Then turn the printer back on and wait 30s. Then add a new printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”). Once you select “+” (add new printer), wait 10-30s for the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer to appear in the new window eg Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) (Kind: “Canon IJ Network”)
DO NOT ADD THE MX 860 SERIES BONJOUR SCANNER (the Bonjour Scanner is the built-in software, is not needed and often appears first on the add printer list).  The Canon scanner can be accessed used through the MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 software (which has much better functions)
You will now have two Printer Canon MX860 (USB) and Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network). Set the Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network) as default and test print and scan
If the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer does not appear, check the printer and make sure that the printer can see the wifi network. On the printer select Menu / Settings / Device Settings / Lan Settings / WLAN Setting List.  It should say WLAN Active, identify the SSID and have an IP address
If the printer can not see the Wifi Network, plug the USB cable back in, then open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App). Make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it has your SSID settings (under setup), if it has this info, restart the computer and the printer and try again

Hi, thaks for response, meant to post as a discussion (not question), wanted to save others time if they get the same problem

  • Commands to copy apps to local drive from networkshare and installing via unattend install

    Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of deploying and testing Windows 8.1 with different settings via unattended answer file. I would like to test out with another settings during unattended install but I'm having a hard time to implement it. Here is the scenario, I've a
server named WDS-DEP-SERV with a hard drive portioned into 2. One is C and other is E. On my E drive, I've a bunch of .exe apps saved. I would like my unattended answer file to pull those .exe apps over to the local drive from network share and install them
as the unattended install takes place. I'm looking for a command that can help me achieve it in a silent mode. During testing before, I was able to have my unattended file to pull VMware tools drivers from network share under RunSynchronousCommand parameter
with domain credentials of the network share and it installed successfully. For example, like this below.
    \\WDS-DEP-SERV\E\Distribution\Drivers\setup64.exe /s /v "/qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress" /l C:\Windows\Temp\vmware_tools_install.log
I was searching online and came across a lot of things but none answered what I'm looking for. Can someone please reply back with the answers on how can I implement it in my unattended file.
    1) To be able to have unattended file pulling drivers from network share, copy them over to local drive during unattended installation process and execute them silently. I need a command to pull this off.
    2) What pass should I use in unattended file?
    3) So far, I've used RunSynchronouscommand  under Windows Deployement Neutral during "Specialize" pass to install just VMware tools. Is there a way to execute all apps in one go instead of doing it one at a time via Synchronouscommand? Please
correct me if I'm wrong, Is it true every time you use Synchronouscommands for various different apps or scripts to pull from network share, you'll have to use network credentials under each and every Synchronouscommands section. Like, if I add 4 SyncrhonousCommands
to the unattended file to pull 4 different apps or scripts from network share, I must provide network share credentials for each of those. Can it be just one time network share credentials under those and they all get pulled and executed during unattended
    install?
Again, please if someone can get back to help me out. I would really appreciate it. Hope to hear from someone soon. Below is my unattended answer file in case someone would like to see it to understand better.

  • OS X 10.5 Leopard - Installation error message "No software to install"

    Hello,
I am trying to upgrade my Intel iMac (Early 2006) from OS X 10.4.11 to Leopard OS X 10.5.
I insert the Leopard DVD and installation begins after restarting. The DVD consistency check runs fine but as soon as installation commences a yellow exclamation mark appears on the screen and informs me that installation could not complete as there is "no software to install".
    - I have checked the DVD for scratches: No scratches.
    - I have changed the RAM: Error messages occur regardless of the RAM configuration. (I have 2 x 1Gb RAM memory sticks installed, from Kingston memory). I went back to the original iMac RAM installed (2 x 512Mb RAM sticks) and the same error message appears.
I restart the iMac using the Startup disk and return to OS X 10.4.11.
Any hints on how to get the Leopard installation to work?
    Thanks,
    Ben

    Success!
I moved 21Gb of stored files from the hard drive I was trying to install Leopard on. Went from 29Gb of free space to 50Gb.
For some reason the OS X 10.5 Leopard installation process liked this and Leopard installed.
I thought only 9Gb of free space was required to install Leopard?
    Anyway, it worked.
Excellent. I will be sure to bookmark this thread. One never knows when it may come in handy.

  • Oracle Software not installed

    Hi!
I tried to install SAP NetWeaver 7.1 with Oracle 10 under Windows Server 2003 64bit in english fully updated. But I ran into two problems which prevented the SAP installation to finish : first once all the oracles updates were installed, the oracle wintows service would not start; second sapinst never managed to find the oracle installation and always answered "Oracle Software not installed".
For this installation I downloaded all the installation files from the SAP download center like this :
         - On http://service.sap.com/swdc in the left frame : download/installation and upgrades/entry by application group
         - then in the center frame : SAP NetWeaver/SAP NetWeaver/SAP NETWEAVER CE 7.1/Installation/Windows Server/Oracle/
         - I added everything to the Download basket but "Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 Patch for AIX 64bit" and "Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 Patch for Solaris 64bit"
    - then I took the last patch for Oracle 10 on the SAP download center :
         - on http://service.sap.com/swcenter-3pmain in the left frame : Oracle/Oracle 64-bit/Oracle 10.2.0 64bit/Oracle 10.2.0.2/NT_x86_64
         - I added the last patch to the download basket
Then I followed this installation steps :
installation of the last jdk : jdk-6u3-windows-i586-p.exe
    installation of Oracle 10.2.0.1 with : Oracle10.2.0.1-51031678\NT\I386\sapserver.cmd
installation of the last update for oracle 10.2.0.2 with : DVD_ORACLE_10.2.0.2_Patches_WIN_AIX_SOL\NT\I386\setup.exe
=> I had a problem with the installation of the patch chich detected the wrong version of windows so I forced it with : OPATCH_PLATFORM_ID=233 (I checked it before, it should really be the right one)
installation of the last patch of oracle :
         - definition of ORACLE_HOME and addition of opatch to the PATH
         - execution of "opatch apply" in the folder Oracle-10202_Patch16_MSWINX86-64-6397030\
===> *PB* : the installation of this patch enables the oracle windows service which won't run and doesn't send any errors (just timeout). I didn't find any help on this one. When I tried to start sqlplus in console, I got errors about DLLs not found but they exists in the bin directory of oracle and are in the PATH...
installation of NetWeaver 7.1 with SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 SP3 for Oracle - 51032969\DATA_UNITS\CE71_03_IM_WIN_X86_64_ORA\sapinst.exe
           - normal installation + JavaEE + CompEnv
              - Media Browser - RDBMS Client Oracle : Oracle 10.2 Client - 51033272\OCL_WINDOWS_I386\LABEL.ASC
===> *PB* : at this point of the sap installation, I got an error "Oracle Software not installed" without any details. I didn't find any help on that either. It seems to come from a registry key missing...
After that, I uninstalled (with removal of the right keys in the registry to have something clean (<a href="http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b14316/deinstall.htm">url</a>)) Oracle many times and tried different installation steps : without the patches, with the patches but without the update (doesn't work), with the patch 15, with the patch 16. In each cases Oracle service wasn't working if a patch was installed. And in each cases the sap installation never detected an Oracle installation. This installation steps are very reproductibles and are problemful.
Could anybody have some pointers or help on that one ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Florian

    Hello Friends,
I tried the AMD64 based Installation Source to install Oracle 10g. and It works.
I also applied sufficient patches (AMD64/x86_64 based) to Oracle, as required. It worked fine, without giving that "Platform not compatible" error, as it was giving me before.
Now,I have got that , my machine was expecting x86_64 based Installation of Oracle .
    I was little bit confused between x86, x64, x84_64, I386,etc..etc..terms...
Thanks to Markus and other friends.
The problem was due to mix installation of 32bit +  64bit Oracle Software & Patches. Previously, i installed  i386 based Oracle, which is 32 bit version. Then i tried AMD64 based Installation source of Oracle RDBMS. It workes.
Previously, I was applying x86_64 based Oracle patches 16 & 17 on 32-bit Oracle version, thats why definitely it was giving error of "Platform not compatible", because it was expecting 64Bit Oracle version to implement that patch.
But, now, i successfully applied these two required Oracle 10.0.2.0 patches(16 & 17),on this 64Bit Oracle. (AMD64 based Installation source).
Then, I had run SAPInst of Installation Master (Win_x86_64) and started the Installation again. I also gave Oracle RDBMS Client Source location (x86_64 based). Then, also provided other required parameters. Now, the SAPInst worked fine, without that "Oracle Software not Installed" error.
And, Ultimately I successfully installed the SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 on 64Bit Oracle 10g Database Software. Right now, the Server is working fine, without Errors.
    Thanks Again.....
