Table based on one data service but filtered by a second data service

Hi,
I'm fairly new to VC and have got comfortable with a few simple scenarios. However, I'm trying to apply some fundamental logic that must be possible and I'm guessing straight forward.
I have a data service that contains document type master data that comes from system A. I have a second data service that supplies a list of the document types that a particular user is able to view. This comes from system B. I want to be able to display the document type master data in a table but only the document types the user is allowed to see. Both data services contain a document type code.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. We want to use VC on my current project and this is the last piece of functionality I'm trying to prototype.

I am not sure whether you have tried to achieve your requirement using intersect operator or no. I haven't tried it before but you can give it a shot.

OK try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Can I update 2(or multiple) columns in a table based on one of update col?

I have a table emp:
empno number
,salary number
,comm number
Now, the comm column is always a % of the salary column (but still would like to store the comm in the table as a column).
Assuming that someone get a salary increment and I need to update the commission as well based on the new salary value, should I still use 2 update statements or is there anyway, I can achive in a single update clause itself?
example:
if the old values were:
=============
1234 10000 1000
and if I do the following,
update emp
set salary = salary + 3000
,comm = salary * 10/100
where empno = 1234;
the comm value still points to the old salary value and the table looks like:
emp:
===
1234 13000 1000
instead of:
1234 13000 1300 (10% of the new salary - 13000)
so, the only way to achieve this is to issue 2 update statements? Or is there any way of achieving in one single update statement? Please let me know.

Or you could create a after update trigger on salary column that updates comm whenever Sal updates.
What happens if someone else issues an update on salary and forgets to update the commission? Wont you have incorect data then?
Also, commision is a redundant column . I dont think it is a good idea to have computed values as a separate column.

Files arranged by date added, but changing file name changes date added

I've got my Downloads folder set to view (in the Finder) by "date added", a very useful feature. However, if I change a file name, the "date added" changes to that new time, and "date modified" stays the same as it was. This doesn't make sense to me... isn't date added just that, when it was added to the folder? Why would this happen? Any workarounds or suggestions?

You should use the 'File/Directory Info' functionality.
This will return the last modificatoin of the file.

Join Two tables based on TO_DATE,TRIM,UPPER Functions in RPD

Hi All,
I have a requirement where I have to join 2 tables based on the functions TO_DATE,TRIM,UPPER.
I have Date Of Birth, Person Name . So I have to use these functions and then join in the RPD.
Is it possible to achieve. I am stuck in this problem.

Thanks for your reply. I had tried adding these functions but I get the error 'Only columns,designated predicates and operators are allowed". Niether in the Business not in the Physical layer we are allowed
to enter any functions in the join conditions between the two tables.
I am not very sure whether this is the normal behaviour or I can avoid this by doing something.

Filtering by Calendar versus Date

Hi All,
So, we can filter on Calendar, which shows a nice graphical representation of when we took our pictures. Click on a highlighted date, and see all the photos from that *one specic* date.
However, to see, for instance, everything from a month (or an arbitrary range), it doesn't seem possible from the Calendar, even though it shows me several days in some particular months that I took photos. I have to use the "Date" filter and clunkily change a bunch of criteria in order all photos from a given month.
Am I missing something? It seems like the Calendar Filter interface should make this task a cinch, and I don't think the Date filter will work for scans, in which the metadata is what I want to search, not the file date.

Use "{Shift}+click" for the second date, or use "{Command}+click" for additional dates.
The Calendar Rule is slick, but seems unfinished. There is no way I know to move the mini-calendars by year or to the most recent date, for instance. The central diamond does move the mini-calendars to display the current date.
The Calendar Rule uses the EXIF date.

The Date Rule, with the argument "Is in the range" does the same thing as the Calendar Rule, and is often faster to set.
The Date Rule uses the file's creation date (afaict).

Two Tables Contol in One Dynpro.

Hi to all!!! This time i'm needing to put two tables Controls in one Dynpro. When i created the second table with the wizard i go trough all the steps but finally, no table control is created. A warning appeared on the first step. It says something about the loop of the TControls at the PBO.
what I am making bad? any suggestion?
If i can´t use two table controls i would need an alv in my dynpro...then it would be : a Table Control and an ALV in the same Dynpro.
is this posible with the custom control? how can i do this?

BI 7.0 data load issue: InfoPackage can only load data to PSA?

BI 7.0 backend extraction gurus,
We created a generic datasource on R3 and replicated it to our BI system, created an InfoSource, the Transformation from the datasource to the InfoSource, an ODS, the transformation from the InfoSource to the ODS.
After the transformation creation between the InfoSource and the ODS is done on this BI system, a new folder called "Data Transfer Process" is also created under this ODS in the InfoProvider view. In the Data Transfer Process, in the Extraction tab, picks 'Full' in the field Extraction Mode, in the Execute tab, there is a button 'Execute', click this button (note: so far we have not created InfoPackage yet) which sounds like to conduct the data load, but find there is no data available even if all the status show green (we do have a couple of records in the R3 table).
Then we tried to create an InfoPackage, in the Processing tab, find 'Only PSA' radio button is checked and all others like 'PSA and then into Data Targets (Package by Package)" are dimmed! In the Data Target tab, find the ODS as a target can't be selected! Also there are some new columns in this tab, 'Maintain Old Update Rule' is marked with red color 'X', under another column 'DTP(S) are active and load to this target', there is an inactive picture icon, that's weird since we have already activated the Data Transfer Process! Anyway, we started the data load in the InfoPackage, and the monitor shows the records are brought in, but since in the Process tab in the InfoPackage, 'Only PSA' radio button is checked with all others dimmed that there is no any data going to this ODS! Why in BI 7.0, 'Only PSA' radio button can be checked with others all dimmed?
Many new features with BI 7.0! Any one's idea/experience is greatly appreciate on how to load data in BI 7.0!

You dont have to select anything..
Once loaded to PSA in DTP you have the option of FULL or DELTA ,full loads all the data from PSA and DELTA loads only the last load of PSA.

i am developed a new custom master child form using stacked canvas.Here i am taking two frames with diffrent data blocks.my point is i am enter the value from the lov in first frame automatically execute the second frame data block without button.
example:

second datablock:employee information(emp table).
select the dept value from lov automatically execute the second data block emp information.

what can you do ?
use a timer in post-change or when-validate-item trigger at deptno item at first data block. because go_block isn't supported by p-c or w-v-t trigger.
and at when timer expire, write your code to go second block and insert/query the associate date from emp table.

Propose delivery date in Sales order to pick current date

Hi,
I want to set the delivery date in SO to pick the current system date. Users should be able to change it to a future date but not to a past date.
Can anyone advice on how this can be done? I tried VOV8, but still, it didnt get determined properly.

Hi,
In VOV8 if you click on the popose delviery date then the system will determine the delivery date as today's only. If the users try to change the delivery date in the past then the system will give a warning but it will be changed.
In the sales screen of the sales order the date which is there is the "requested delivery date of the customer" This is the date by which the customer is expecting the material at his/her place. You can change it to the past but schedule line will not allow you to deliver the material in the back date.
But for the particular item if you go in the schedule lines try changing the delivery date in the past. The system will create 2 schedule lines and the schedlue line for today's date only will be confirmed. So no question of delivery in the past date.

PowerView - 1 Workbook; 2 Data Sources(one linked to SQL and one a table inside excel); Both have same data set but Counts are Different

Hopefully someone might have an explanation for the difference in counts.
Problem:
Excel 2013 on Windows 7
A Single excel spreadsheet with 2 data sources:
One created using "From Other Sources on the DATA tab which connects to SQL Server"
Second data source the same data as item 1, but in a differnet worksheet tab inside the workbook
[Sheet1] - Other SQL data Source
[Sheet2] - Exact Same data as Sheet1 but in a table
[PowerView] - 2 tables
Table one uses Sheet1 as its table data source
Table two uses Sheet2 as its table data source
When you Count(Not Blank) using the same criteria and fields for each table, the numbers dont match.
The one that has the incorrect count is when I use the Table data from [Sheet1] - which is the Other SQL Data Source
Testing:
I also created a standard pivot table using Excel and the counts then are both correct for both datasources. So it must be something in PowerView????

Finding value in one table based on date = maximum date in another

I have an event table that shows event dates and attendees but a customer now wants to see the titles of attendees at the time of the event. I have an audit table that shows changes in title and the dates on which the change occurred however I am not sure how to do a SQL statement that would find the title whose date is less than the date of the event but greater than earlier title changes.
Example: in audit table I have:
name1, title1, 1/23/2011
name1, title2, 2/1/2012
name1, title3, 3/1/2013
name2, title1, 5/3/2012
name2, title2, 8/1/2013
In event table I have
event1, name1, 3/2/2012
event2, name1, 1/30/2011
event3, name1, 6/3/2013
event4, name1, 5/3/2012
event4, name2, 6/1/2012
event5, name2, 9/1/2013
Result I want is:
event1, name1, title2 (event date > 2/1/2012 (title2 date) but < 3/1/2013 (title3 date)
event2, name1, title1 (event date > 1/23/2011 but < other title dates)
event3, name1, title3 (event date > highest title date)
event4, name1, title2 same as first example above
event4, name2, title1
event5, name2, title2

I need to fetch the data from CDHDR just based on the Order number .I found there is a field called 'OBJECTID' in table 'CDHDR'. But the last part of OBJECTID contains order number.suppose my order number is 90506210 the objectid field contains '51030000090506210'.510 is login client,don't know what 30 is and last part is order number i.e 000090506210.i have to concatenate all and fetch data .i can do it for one order number but here order number is declared as select-options.how do i ?

You need to loop through the select option and concatenate with required data then select using 'in' instead of equal or select one by one.
or
select sales order numbers from VBAK for the selection into internal table then loop through the internal table and concatenate then select from CDHDR.
for better performance use objectclass in where clause. the value for sales order for objectclass is VERKBELEG.
in my system the object id is just an order number there is no other additions to it but in CDPOS the tabkey contains the order number with client and other information also.
the 30 may be your item number... check it
go ahead and change sales order and see what you can find in CDHDR
