Table Results Appear to be Cached

Question

Button is bound to method on POJO data control which populates a list.
Table is bound to ArrayList getter on POJO data control.
The first time the button is pressed, the table displays no data. The table should contain data.
The second time the button is pressed, the table displays the expected data.
Every time the button is pressed, the results delivered are those expected from the time before. It appears that the values displayed in the table have been cached from the time before.
I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve this issue. Thoughts?

Note that the button will retrieve different results based on criteria on the page. My debugging suggests that the expected data is populated each and every time but for some reason is displaying old data.

Thanks for response.
Refresh="ifNeeded" made no difference - nor did Refresh="always"
I have previous code which does not have the results cache problem. The page definitions wrt iterators are the same.
I will start anew. I'll reply to this post if I hit the issue again. If so, hopefully, I'll have more information as to what triggers the behaviour.
