Table usage in forms

Hi,
Is there a simple way to find out the tables used in a particular form (6i)?
I have to make a list of the table usage per form (about 200 forms).
The forms info is not stored in a database or in designer.

Hello,
I've been working on a project for a few months now, and in charge of building Forms.
Just recently we upgraded our Designer 6.0 to Developer Suite 10g (Designer 9.0.4.5.6).
In their infinite wisdom, the architects have chosen to rename some of the applications and following CDM-standards, all table definitions will have to be renamed also.
As I am not keen on having to change all table usages in my forms manually, I would like to know if there is a way to do it in Designer itself.
I know this wasn't possible in the older Designer version, so before I handled something like that in Forms Builder. But now another demand of the project is, to be able to have 100% generation for all forms, so that's not an option anymore.
So, do I face a lot of work or can anyone give me something I can try?

I'm sorry to say that maybe you have a lot of effort to pay.
However, I think you have a tricky way that can help you solve your problem, but not considered a good solution. You can do remaping by overriding the default DML functionality of Form. In detail, you can override ON-INSERT,ON-UPDATE,ON-DELETE,ON-LOCK and ON-FETCH to replace the default SQL statements that Forms Builder automatically generates.
In this case you just add these triggers to your changed modules, and that's all.

Table usage in a module component necessary?

hi,
i would like to design a simply forms application. I need only two unbound text-fields (and two buttons) in a window.
I create
1. a module
2. a module component
3. four unbound items (two text; two button)
4. I get the following generation error:
CGEN-00041 ERROR: Module: MY_MODULE has no module components and/or table usages
6. Ok, I create a table usage with one bound item (Rows Displayed = 1, Display = no)
It is really necessary to create a table usage? I only need four unbound items(!!!)
in a forms mask. The data will be not save in database, but they are important for a win_api_dialog in my application. I choose one of x tables in the base table usage window. Perhaps it is better to select the DUAL table!? Does anybody know an another solution without creating a table usage?

I found a solution to generate a forms module without a table usage in the designer. After creating two unbound items I create an action item. I set the datasource type of the module component to >>none<<, because there is no table usage. Now the generation is successful.

CDG-01141 ERROR: Module Component Table Usage ... Table usage ... requires primary key column for referential integrity

For some strange reason when I modified a form, (commented out some code in a when-window-activated trigger) I now get the following error.
CDG-01141 ERROR: Module Component Table Usage GR1130A.CUSTOMER.GR_CUSTOMER.GC: Table usage GR_CUSTOMER requires primary key column for referential integrity
I am sure this is not related to my change, but do not know what may have caused this or how to fix it.
Anyone seen this error before? been able to fix it?

You know that Developer/Designer 6i is not certified for Windows 7, right? Also, your version is not the latest one, so you can try to install the latest patch set first.

Check if there is a PK in the table definition (not in the database, but in Designer).

Possible to find the Table behind the form

My question is Is it possible for the DBA to find the table behind the form.
actually when i input the data from front end i want to know how can i found which table as updated.

behind the form.Form as in front-end GUI sort of thing? Most DBAs of my acquaintance wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry at such a request. Seeing as how it confirms all the prejudices at the cluelessness of developers.
The short answer is No. That's why we are supposed to document our applications. However, if you get a sympathetic DBA they might be prepared to track your session and find out what SQL you're issuing. It's then a question of co-ordinating your Form usage with what they see in the database.

        I have designed a webdynpro view which contains a table,i have to generate a pdf format file which also contains
a table as there in the webdynpro view.
        I have designed a dynamic table in interactive form and binded the interactive form ui element with the datasource and pdfSource.
In the interactive form i am getting only one row data of webdynpro view table.In the Object palette, I selected Repeat Row For Each Data Item.
       share with me if u have any idea or send any document regarding table binding(dynamic) in interactive form.

ADF table and ADF form on the same view object

Hi,
As per the ADF demos available on ADF site, I created a jsf page with 2 panels. One panel is an ADF table based on a view object. And the other panel is and ADF form based on the same view object. My requirement is that as I scroll through the records in the ADF table, the ADF Form should dynamically display the details of the record in the ADF table. My understanding is that this should be automatic. However, its not working as expected. What have I missed?

You really don't enter identical data into 2 tables. You enter dat into one single table, and then you have an unique identifier that maps to another table (you have a unique relationship between two tables).

Think about it this way... What is you update data in 2 tables, and then the data in one of those tables changes, but the data in the other table does NOT change. WHOOPS!! Now, you've got a BIG problem. For instance, you have a customer
named Bill Gates. In one Table you update Bill's address to 1835 73rd Ave NE, Medina, WA 98039 and in the other table you accidentally update Bill's address to 183 73rd Ave NE, Medina, WA 98039. Now you have 2 addresses for Bill. Why would
you want that??? Which is right? No one knows. If you have one address, you just have to update one address and if there is a mistake, you just have to update one address, but you don't have to waste time trying to figure out which is right
and which is wong...and then update the one that is wrong.

How to use nested tables in adobe form

I have to use nested tables in adobe form for table display. I have used Subforms for displaying table data. I have changed accessibility of the subforms. Currently i am able to print print the table correctly if there is single material record in table 1 and single corresponding record in table 2. But the requirement is that i will have multiple lines in table 1 for single material and only one record in table 2.
EX: form is for Sales order. in line items if the order is for 100 units then we if we have delivered material as 80, 10, 10, then table 1 will have 3 lines for this. Table 2 will always have only 1 corresponding record.

Set the body page as flowed and set the tables also flowed.
go to bodypage>object->subform-->select flowed option.
I thihnk this will work..if u are getting all the records properly into the tables 1 and 2.

How do I get to have more than 20 columns in a table in adobe form?

I see that there is limitaion to not have more than 20 columns in my table in adobe form, Is there any way I can have more than 20 columns in a table in adobe form in landscape mode.

That only relates to the Table Wizard. Once the table is placed on the page, you can add columns manually, from the menu or right-clicking on a column.
You can also use fields within a repeating subform (instead of the table object).

Error in Data in table on pdf form...

Hi experts,
I am designing a pdf form in Live cycle Designer in Java Web Dynpro. Now In that form i want to show a table which can contain more than one row depending on the data fetched. Every thing is fine, but the data shown in the table in pdf form is not correct. Its taking only the first row of the dataset and showing it in the third row of the table and first, second rows of the table are coming blank. what could be the reason. please help.

Display and edit currently selected row of ADF Table in ADF Form

I have an ADF Read-only Table and ADF Form, which were created from the same Data Control.
I need to be able to edit the selected row of the table in the form (just like in "Binding Data Controls to your JSF page" part of "Developing RIA Web Applications with Oracle ADF" Tutorial). However, I can't figure out how to do this :(
I found the following solution on the Web: #{bindings.DeptView1.currentRow.dataProvider.dname} - but it doesn't work, since "the class oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowImpl does not have the property dataProvider".

Hi,
AFAIK, dataProvider is not supported on ADF BC, hence the error.
If you have created ADF Read only table and form from the same data control you just need to refresh the form based on table selection to show up the selected record, to do which you just need to add partialTriggers property to the panelFormLayout and set its value to the id of table

Merging of cells of a dynamic table in adobe form

Hi,
I am trying to Merge 2 columns in a dynamic table in adobe form.The requirement is to merge column 3 and column 4 if column 4 is empty. I used the below javascript code in both "Form ready " and Initialize event of the row.
if (this.Cell4.rawValue == " ")
this.Cell3.colSpan = "2";
this.Cell4.presence = "hidden";
Note : Since above code was not working , i used the below code in my subform also but it did not returned desired output.
if(Table22.Row1.Cell1.rawValue == " ")
Table22.Row1.Cell3.colSpan = "2";
Table22.Row1.Cell4.presence = "hidden";
The problem is that in my dynamic table , its the second row where the requirement is fulfilled ie in the 2nd entry of my table the column4 is blank (the exact row number might change depending on input data).
is there a way to loop in the dynamic table and check if column 4 is empty for a particular row.
the above code does not help to fulfill my requirements. kindly help.

Hi Eric,
Just choose the UI element Table from Form Library and drag and drop it on the form. now choose the no. of rows and columns and other settings you want about table from the wizard initiated through this process. This all is what you have to do to create the table. Now to bind it to the fields of the data source bind the individual colums to individual attributes of the node in the datasource.
