  • Different Pages in Multiple tabs of Content Area

    Hi,

I want these two windows to open in different tabs of content area.
at present when i click on the second the content area is over wrtten on the first window content.
please suggest any configuration missing / workaround for displaying different pages on different tabs of content area.
    Thanks
    Sneha

I wonder why do you want to create portal pages for se16 and se11 transactions from portal. However one option is to develop a custom iView using PDK to display two tabs.

  • Dividing Spry Tabbed Panels content area into columns?

    Hi there.
I am building a website and I want to divide the content area of a Spry Tabbed Panel into 3 columns for text.
    How can I do this?
I thought about making divs inside the Panel but it would be too messy.
Please let me know if there is a simple way to do this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Placing an image in a tabbed panel content area, it shows up on all three panels

This is crazy.  It should be so simple. But sometimes this happens to me. Like today.
I have many pages that use a simple tabbed panel feature with three tabs.
Each content area has a text frame and an image frame.
Sometimes when I try to place an image into the content area of the first tab, the image shows up on all three content areas.  I have tried and tried placing the image, making very sure I am in the "content area" on not just on the page.  But nevertheless, the image seems to be "stuck" on the page, in front of the accordian feature, and therefore showing on all three tabs.
How am I not targeting the placement of those images correctly? There just aren't that many options for me to screw up, it's a simple tabbed panel, that's all!
    Help please.
    Barbara

Are you using the latest version of Muse/Air?
The borders of the Content Area of a tab gets highlighted as soon as you drag over an element over it so it is very unlikely that something like this could happen. However, I believe it could be due to messed up Layers configuration as the only way I could reproduce this problem is through moving the image into a layer above a layer that contains the Tabbed panel or in case of just one layer, you might have the image at the very top.
    Thanks,
    Vinayak

  • Change text "link" color only in Spry Tab content area

I need to have multiple text link colors in my site for light

  • Table expands outside of the content area in a tabbed panel - sometimes

I am using a tabbed panel to create several different views of a database. The system is working pretty well, the only problem I have is that the content for almost all of the tabbed panels extend beyond the right hand end of the content panel. The page is here www.mwlcraftshow.com/gordo.php and you'll see that when you select the "Declined" tab the data shows correctly within the content area, but if you select "Accepted" or "All vendors" the table extends beyond the content panel. I've reviewed the html and css and don't see any difference between the tab that works (Declined) and tabs that don't work (All vendors, Accepted).
I'd really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.
    Thanks

I see that you are indicating td widths for your tables. If you don't try to dictate widths in tables AND reduce the size of your text, you will have better luck keeping the table on the panel. You might also consider making the live area for the TabbedPanels wider, as well (the whole widget). If you have a limited size monitor, you won't be able to do that.
The only size you should use on this table is for the table width itself: use 100%, and it will fill the TabbedPanel Content width-wise, and should force the columns to fit (if you take off their widths as I suggested above).
With tables, absolute width indicators seem only to be a "suggestion" as tables will automatically expand if the content is too much for the content cells. Applying a 100% width for the table as a whole should force the cells to expand down and not horizontally.

  • Tabbed Widget Hiding "Content Area" in Normal State ...

Q1. Is it possible to hide the complete content area of the tabbed widget in normal state? ...
Q2. ... and than going back automatically from active state to normal state (same behavoir as Q1) if any other link/widget on the site was activated?
Here´s an image of the idea i have, every tab comtains a picture gallery... should be a cool sliding user experience.
thank you so much for your help!

Have you tried customizing one of the Compositions Widget (Blank/Featured News/Presentation) to simulate a tabbed panel. Since a Compositions Widget allows you the option to hide the target containers on rollout or click.
Try playing with the Compositions if that helps. Would be interested to know any specific feature that you are using Tabbed Panel over Compositions Widget for your above requirement.

  • Tabbed Panels: Two content areas?

Hi, I want to set up my Tabbed Panels so that when a certain tab is clicked, the content displayss in one content area/div and an image shows in another content area/div. Is that possible? If it is, will it change the CSS? On most pages, I want to use the same CSS style for tabbed panels, but only one content area.
    Thanks very much,
    Mike

    You could do 2 things.
    1) include the "area" inside the tabbed panels content, and use position:absolute; to position it everywhere that you want on your page
    2) create onclick function on each tabbedpanel tab that will display the content for you.

I only get this message in one database.

    Hi,
You must switch to the "master pages" tab first, then mark the content area to be able to move it.
You cannot move the content area in the design view, since it is part of the master page.

  • Display the reports under all subfolders at a time in the content area?

    Hi All,
In SAP EP portal,We have a requirement to display few reports wherein we have 7 roles with the same names but different ID's and they are merged together so that even if the users have 7 roles assigned he will see only 1 tab in the first level navigation and uder that there will  be one folder at the second level. Now the requirement is like this
1st level navigation : Role Name
    2nd level navigation :Folder Name
    Detailed Navigation : Folder Name
                                     Sub Folder Name
                                     Sub -sub folder1 Name
                                     Reports   --(one or many)
                                     Sub -sub folder2 Name
                                     Reports   --(one or many)
                                     Sub -sub folder3 Name
                                     Reports   --(one or many)
Under al the sub-sub folders a workset map iview is added to display the reports with a pictogram in the content area.In the detailed navigation, as soon as the user clicks on the Sub folder the user should be able to see the reports under all the Sub-sub folders( Sub-sub folder1,Sub-sub folder2,Sub-sub folder3) .But currently the user has to explicitly click on each of the Sub-sub folders to view the reports(thrice in this case).Plz give a solution in which all the reports under the 3 Sub-sub folders should appear simultaneouly in the content area at a single click on Sub Folder

  • How to open the popup with in Tab navigator  working area.

    Hi,
I using the customized  panel to open it as popup by using  popup manager in the Tab navigator . The popup should be able to  move with in the tab navigator's  content area. Not outside of the tab navigator's  content area. How to do this? .What is the difference between opening the popup by using popup  manager and add children(); which one is best?
    Regards,
    Thiru

It depends on your purpose. A popup displays information to the user, and it might be modal if the user should repsond to the popup before continuing, but why constrain it's movement to the space occupied by the TabNavigator.
You could, in theory, check the x and y properties of the popup position, and then compare those with the x and y of the TabNavigator view area, though you might have to do some conversion between global and local coordinates.
You might want to consider your design. Is a popup necessary? Perhaps not. If so, maybe do not consider constraining its movement as you have indicated.

  • Advice on content area layout & subfolders

    Hi all!
We're just starting to use content areas for real document management, and I was hoping someone could offer some advice on the layout of one or more of these content areas.
I'm trying to build a typical corporate "Document Library". Parts of the library will be available to "Public" corporate users (corporate users who have not logged on to the app yet), other parts will be available to all authenticated users, and other parts will be available to only certain groups. (Relatively easy so far...)
So far I have these all in a single content area called DOCLIB, with two folders: PUBLIC and CORPORATE. (Ultimately there will be a third high-level group for FRANCHISE users -- non-corporate stores.) PUBLIC is accessible to public users; DOCLIB itself and DOCLIB/CORPORATE are accessible to AUTHENTICATED_USERS. PUBLIC contains subfolders such as NEWS, HELP, FAQS, HRDOCS ("public" HR docs), PRESS_RELEASES, etc. CORPORATE contains subfolders such as NEWS, PLANNERS, IT_DOCS, HRDOCS ("logged on only" HR docs), etc.
    A few questions:
    1. Does it make sense to break out the PUBLIC and CORPORATE folders at the very top level, or are do people generally put the private folders as subfolders of the corresponding public ones? (Ideally I'd rather put these both into the same folder and simply show more documents once the user logs on, but I couldn't get this working properly.)
    2. I currently have the "DocLib" content area showing on the main portal page, defaulting to the PUBLIC folder. However, once the users log in, I'd like to switch the focus to the root DOCLIB folder instead of the PUBLIC subfolder. As it runs now, the focus remains on the PUBLIC folder, and the user must click on the folder path to move to the root folder. Is there any way around this short of creating two different tabs, one for public users and the other for logged-on users? (Once they log on now I show an additional 3-6 tabs on that page.)
    3. I'd like to show certain folders (such as "News/System News" and "News/Company News" in their own portlets (in addition to inside the overall Document Library portlet). Unfortunately, once the user logs in, the folder path is displayed, and the user can navigate to parent folders while inside this portlet. (This will horribly confuse some of our users...) I know I can turn off the folder path for this folder, but then it is also gone when this folder is displayed inside the overall "Document Library" portlet (where I'd like to still show the folder path). Is there any way around this?
    4. Is there any straightforward way to display the same document in more than one folder? If I use perspectives, it looks like I then give up control over how the page gets formatted, if I use a Folder Link, the folder opens up in its own page instead of inside the portal area, and if I use a URL to point the "second" copy back to the first, this will be difficult for later content managers to maintain. Am I missing another easy way to do this?
I know how to do all this via the PDK, but we're trying to use as much of the built-in content-management tools as possible instead of building more PDK-based code.
btw: We are still in Portal 3.0.8, although we're moving to 3.0.9 as soon as possible.
Sorry for the length of the post, but any insight anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi All
We are using release 2, and we are looking into using a page template containing a JSP portlet for a consistent navigation bar/header. What do you think of this approach?
    Regards
    Harry
    Jon,
There are a variety of ways to do this:
One way is to modify the page that the content area is on to contain the portlets that you would like on your page. Those portlets would contain your banners, links, logos, etc. Note that the page under a content area can not contain tabs.
Another way to do this is to create separate pages and link to those pages from your navigation bar manually.
Note that in release 2 of Oracle9iAS Portal we have combined the content area and page concepts so that there is no more 'drill out of the portal page' loss of context, so you could use Oracle9i Application Release 2 also.

  • Translating items in a Content Area

    Hi,
Here is a strange problem that happens to me : we have a content area that support both english and french. english is the native language and french was added on the 'translation' tab, with the 'online' option checked.
A user who has the 'view' and 'add with approval' rights can add a file item in a folder. This is done with the english interface. Then, if the user change the interface to french, edit this item and choose another file (in order to translate the item), the item will disappear of the folder! If the interface is in english, this item awaiting approval is visible, if the interface is in french, the item doesn't show up!
The administrator of the folder can see the item in any language...but not the user! Once the item has been approved, some strange things happen, but it seems ok in both languages, also for the user.
    what is happening ?
we have Oracle Portal Version: 3.0.9.8.1
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Philip
One problem (at least with 309, havn't checked with 902) I experienced is when 'Item Versioning' for the folder is set to 'Audit'. The only way how a translation 'sticks' is when you override the current version of the item (i.e. when Version Control is not used / set to 'Simple', so you can override the current version), which is not possible with 'Audit'.
    Hope that helps
    Tino
