Tag behaviours

I am trying to get a new page opening with some settings i.e.
url with
parameters, height, width, borders etc. I know I can do this
with tag on
click behaviour but the text does not have an underline. How
do I make the
client aware that he can click the text for a link>
Cheers
SteveW

>>I know I can do this with tag on click behaviour
Option 1
<td onclick="....>
Option 2
<td><a href="newpage.htm" target="_blank" onclick="
.....; return false">
The second option would allow you to provide a working link
even if the viewer has javascript disabled. The page width etc
won't work but the new page will open. Also your link would have
the properties of the anchor tag applied to it.
Option 1, incase the viewer has javascript disabled, nothing
will happen
I would recommend Option 2

  • Strange title tag behaviour

    Imagine a page with the title set as follows:
    <title> My Home Page</title>
    Now, imagine we chaneg the code to have a title tag as
    follows:
    <title>My Brand New Home Page</title>
    What would cause the source code to reveal "<title>My
    Brand New Home
    Page</title>" (as expected) but for the browser title
    bar to keep displaying
    the old title text "My Home Page" ??
    No javascript on this page, no frames and cache switched off
    in browser.
    Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Thanks for the speedy response!

    Yeah, did all that with no luck. However, half or so later it
    is no working.
    ( web cache of CMS perhaps)
    Here's the bit I don't get - if the source code reveals the
    correct title
    then the browser has clearly downloaded the updated version
    of the page,
    right? So why does it still display the last version's title
    in its title
    bar??

  • Tag Inspector DW CS3

    Hi all,
    I've used it before without any problems, but now when I select some text to put a tag behaviour over it, I see no options available to me ion the Tag Inspector.
    Is it me or something else. I'm using DW CS3.
    Thanks to all who respond.
    David

    Hi Ken,
    That is an image of something I've never seen before. There is no such button as your image shows on my CS3!
    The Tag Inspector on the office (XP SP3) and home (WIN7) computers appear at the top right-hand corner and comprise a drop-down menu, all of which are without available options on the OFFICE computer. The Inspector works perfectly well on the HOME computer.
    I don't know what's happened to the office system. It was perfectly fine and dandy only two days ago.
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • Hovering over

    I cannot change the Tabbed panels behaviour.The internal link
    that should be open when clicking on the link instead opens when
    the pointer hovers over the panel which causes a lot of disruption
    when looking at the site. I understand this is built in behaviours
    ( why I dont know) but even if I go in to the panel /tag behaviour
    and change behaviour to "open browser window on click" and save it
    same thing happens when trying the link in the browser - it opens
    when hovering over the panel. Why is this?

    Look through the actual page layout for this page. Try to find if any HTML sectional items have a name attribute using that.

  • Tiger and VLAN problem

    I bought a new MacBook Pro a few weeks ago. It is working well in my house. But I tried to connect this macbook to our company's intranet in my office, it's network performance is extremely low. So, I gather some tcpdump data and I found that the VLAN tag is coming into my macbook (such as 713, 709 as vlan id). My company uses the IP phone and support guys said that VLAN tag behaviour is normal thing. Actually, in windows system, there was no problem.
    I found the increasing Input error count in output of netstat -in output also. I think, this increasing input error count is related to VLAN tag.
    I looked into the tcpdump output and sometimes there is no VLAN tag in the packet from switch, and then, those packets seem to be permitted because the packet flow shows that tiger sent legal next packet, not retransmission.
    So, I think I have two options to bypass this situation...
    1. If possible, strip off VLAN tags regardless of VLAN id because vlan id is not important in this case. But I have no idea how to do it.
    2. If possible, give the VLAN ID to my ethernet adapter such as 709, 713 etc. Also, I don't know how to do it.
    Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance...

    TinkerTool (free) can make invisible files visible: click on 'Finder' in the toolbar and then check 'Show hidden and system files' and click the button to relaunch the Finder. /usr and /var at at the root level of your hard disk, if I remember correctly.
    *Warning: be very careful*. Do not delete or tamper with any file unless you are quite clear what it is. Deleting the wrong file could seriously damage your System.
    When you have finished, be sure to uncheck that checkbox and relaunch the Finder again to hide the invisible files.

  • Recursive custom tag: different behaviour in WinXP and Linux

    Hi all,
    I've a strange behaviour on a web application for which I developed a custom tag to render a tree structure.
    This tag take in input an object representing the tree with all its nodes, and render every node, calling hitself recursively for every child of every node.
    This tag is used inside a jsp.
    I deployed my webapp on JBoss in a WinXP Pro environment, and everything is ok. Then I deployed the same webapp on JBoss in a Linux Env, and the call to the custom tag... doesn't write anything (with the same input).
    Used jdk are 1.6.0_10 on WinXP and 1.6.0_7 on Linux (an OpenSuse professional distribution). JBoss is 4.2 (I did tests with JBoss 4.2.2 and 4.2.3).
    Here is a sample code of my tag (file outree.tag):
    <%@ tag language="java" pageEncoding="UTF-8" %>
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/log-1.0" prefix="log" %>
    *<%@ taglib prefix="ousel" tagdir="/WEB-INF/tags/ouselector" %>*
    <%@ attribute name="subtree"
              required="true"
              type="my.webapp.TreeObject" %>
    <%@ attribute name="subroot_index" required="true" type="java.lang.Integer"%>
    <log:debug category="my.webapp.ousearch.taglib" message="Tag library called, starting operations..." />
    <c:if test="${not empty subtree.children}">
         <c:set var="next_subtree_index" value="${subroot_index + 1}"/>
         <ul class="subtree" id="subtree-${subroot_index}">
         <log:debug category="${logcategory}" message="We have children, calling recursively tag library on them (next subtree index: ${next_subtree_index})..." />
         <c:forEach var="currentOUChild" items="${subtree.children}">
              *<ousel:outree subtree="${currentOUChild}" subroot_index="${next_subtree_index}"/>*
              <c:set var="next_subtree_index" value="${next_subtree_index + 1}"/>
         </c:forEach>
         </ul>
    </c:if>
    </li>The TreeObject contains a list of children that can contain other children and so on. On every child, I call recursively my custom tag to render with a set of nested <ul> elements the entire tree structure.
    Here the call from the jsp:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/log-1.0" prefix="log" %>
    *<%@ taglib prefix="ousel" tagdir="/WEB-INF/tags/ouselector" %>*
    <log:debug category="${logcategory}" message="Building subtree ${ouSubtree} HTML structure..." />
    *<ousel:outree subtree="${ouSubtree}" subroot_index="1"/>*
    <log:debug category="${logcategory}" message="Subtree ${ouSubtree} HTML structure built" />
    ...Jakarta log taglibs is used to log the value of the parameter passed to the custom tag. In the Linux env I see that the passed object is not empty (it couldn't be null because the tag enforce it as a mandatory value).
    Any idea?

    I have found a workaround.
    Simply substitute the recursive invocation, with an import of a jsp that will call the custom tag.
    Note: You have to set your needed variable in request to make it visible to the jsp
    <%@ tag language="java" pageEncoding="UTF-8" %>
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/log-1.0" prefix="log" %>
    <%@ attribute name="subtree"
              required="true"
              type="my.webapp.TreeObject" %>
    <%@ attribute name="subroot_index" required="true" type="java.lang.Integer"%>
    <log:debug category="my.webapp.ousearch.taglib" message="Tag library called, starting operations..." />
    <c:if test="${not empty subtree.children}">
         <c:set var="next_subtree_index" value="${subroot_index + 1}"/>
         <ul class="subtree" id="subtree-${subroot_index}">
         <log:debug category="${logcategory}" message="We have children, calling recursively tag library on them (next subtree index: ${next_subtree_index})..." />
         <c:forEach var="currentOUChild" items="${subtree.children}">
                    *<c:set var="_currentOUChild" value="${currentOUChild}" scope="request"/>*
                    *<c:set var="_next_subtree_index" value="${next_subtree_index}" scope="request"/>*
              *<c:import url="/WEB-INF/tags/outtree.jsp"/>*
              <c:set var="next_subtree_index" value="${next_subtree_index + 1}"/>
         </c:forEach>
         </ul>
    </c:if>
    </li>Here is the imported jsp (outtree.jsp):
    <%@ taglib prefix="ousel" tagdir="/WEB-INF/tags/ouselector" %>
    <ousel:outree subtree="${_currentOUChild}" subroot_index="${_next_subtree_index}"/>

    That makes sense, but when I try other code like it, see below, it's not working again. Can you see anything wrong with this code?
    <select name="state">
    <c:forEach items="${pageBean.states}" var="state">
    <option value="<c:out value="${state.stateCode}" />"
    <c:choose><c:when test="${state.stateCode == detailsBean.state}"> selected="selected"</c:when>

    </select>
    The JSP won't display properly with the code this way, but it looks like what you suggested.

  • Inconsistent behaviour of [inspectable] tags

    I am attempting a platform conversion of a large product from
    AS2 to AS3. The problem is that the original code for our
    components used [inspectable] tags to expose getters and setters
    for private variables. In ActionScript 3, [inspectable] tags only
    seem to work if you use a public variable with no getter or setter
    functions.
    This is a problem, since I have about 15K lines of code, and
    it refers to the getter and setter properties of these components
    all over the place.
    Am I missing something? Is there some documentation that
    shows different ways of using [inspectable] tags to expose
    parameters with AS3 components? An someone tell me about a
    workaround for this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    It turns out that getters/setters may not have anything to do
    with this at all. Some components are simply not seeing the values
    in the parameter box at all, and are defaulting to, well, whatever
    we set as the default.
    I doubt this is related, but another problem I'm encountering
    is that when I compile components, the live preview gets clobbered,
    so when the component appears on the stage, the live preview is
    drawn in a 2x2 pixel area,(even though the bounding box shows the
    original component size). This happens with about 5 out of 6
    compiles. What's the deal?

  • Bad bug with ID3 tags of different case for same artist

    My itunes files and music library are on a different drive than my boot drive. It is an internal drive (always on) in my Mac Pro at /Volumes/Media1/iTunes with music library at /Volumes/Media1/iTunes/iTunes Music. iTunes is setup to automatically keep it organized and copy files to the media folder when adding. It has been this way for years, never a problem.
    Just recently, and I think this may have coincided (but I'm not sure) with a 10.6.5 Snow Leopard update, my music started disappearing! The entries were still in the library, but with the missing exclamation mark in itunes with it reporting that it couldn't find the files. But only certain artists. After searching my computer, I found the missing files it at the same path, but on my boot drive, at /Media1/iTunes/iTunes Music/<missing artist>!
    Trying to add these files back to my library would work briefly, but then they would magically disappear out of /Volumes/Media1/iTunes/iTunes Music and go back to /Media1/iTunes/iTunes Music/
    I figured out the one thing the different artists that had this behavior had in common - some of the ID3 tags for the same artist, which are the basis for organization, were in different cases. I think there is a weird case sensitivity bug that is breaking things. When I add back only those songs for an artist with ID3 tags for the artist of the same case, the behaviour stops.
    I'm posting less looking for an answer and more to raise visibility and hope this gets a fix.
    Example entries from my iTunes Library.xml, notice how the 'k' in OutKast is a different case in the entries.
    <key>Artist</key><string>OutKast</string>
    <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Volumes/Media1/iTunes/iTunes%20Music/OutKast/Speakerboxxx,%20Th e%20Love%20Below%20(Disc%202)/13%20Pink%20&%20Blue.mp3</string>
    <key>Artist</key><string>Outkast</string>
    <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Volumes/Media1/iTunes/iTunes%20Music/Outkast/Aquemini/12%20Spot tieOttieDopaliscious.mp3</string>

    I'd like to note that I'm experiencing the exact same issue. I'd add to this but petegas4life has it spot on. I'm just replying in hopes this thread gets noticed so the engineers at apple can look into this and hopefully fix it in the next release.
    Reproducing the problem is pretty simple too. Just take one song from an album and change the case of the artist name. You'll see the music move to the boot drive and all of the songs from that artist won't work in itunes anymore. And if you're relying on iTunes to edit the tags, fixing the files is a PAIN because they keep disappearing on you.

  • How can I stop iTunes from changing tags in Widows 8?

    So, this is not new to Windows 8, I've also had this problem for years with Windows 7 also. However it seems to have gotten worse with Windows 8. I've been hoping Apple would fix this but it has been an ongoing nagging problem with iTunes for as long as I can recall, maybe 2008-ish?
    Here is my problem, I double click a song and the song starts playing and simultaneously disappears. I then realized the song was moved to a duplicate artist name. The reason for this is iTunes has filled in the sorting tag info for "album artist". So they have the same "artist" and "album" but different album artists. So I delete the album artist and they recombine. I then play another song and poof its gone as well. Resorted with a new "album artist". So I fight a never ending battle or keeping my songs grouped correctly because iTunes keeps changing the tags and messing up the sort order.
    The next problem I have is I go though my artist list and find "Santana/Santana" or "Bob Seger/Bob Seger". Why is it changing the artist tag from "artist" to "artist/artist" on my tag? I then see two Bob Seger artists. One has an "album artist" of "Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band" the other is blank since I don't use the "album artist" tag. So for years I'm constantly re-editing tags trying to keep iTunes from separating artists into multiple listings.
    As I said previously lately it is so bad that every time I click a song it vanishes into a new artist album listing creating duplicates. I've disabled every preference I could find and nothing works. So at this point I assume it is an iTunes problem. Am I the only one who has this problem?

    I think even using Get Info may not reveal the change, though it is possible the behaviour has altered since I last tested it. Playing or updating the tracks location in a script such as UpdateTagInfo seems to get iTunes to re-evaluate the tag.
    Assuming WMP is involved it may be best to make the necessary settings adjustments to prevent further changes, use the script to get all of the background changes exposed within iTunes, then correct as you see fit. Alternatively I do have another script called ExportImport that could be used to back up the current state of your tags (you should temporarily rename the media folder during the export phase), after which you would then run UpdateTagInfo and then use ExplortImport in its import mode to restore the corrupted data.

  • Organiser in Elements 11 can only find one tag at a time.

    Organiser tags will only find one tagged category at a time. E.g Typing "gill" in the find bar will return all photos with Gill in. Likewise Laura returns all photos with Laura in, but type both Gill followed by Laura will only return photos of Gill. I did not have this problem on Elements 10.

  • How can I stop iTunes from changing my tags?

    I have a MacBook Pro running Yosemite, and iTunes 12. When I play a track, iTunes often changes the tags automatically, but not for every track. It's particularly difficult with compilations, where it will take a song and change the album to something I don't even own.
    Now, I have had the computer for a while, and have had iTunes addons before, so it may be a legacy, but I've had the computer so long, I don't remember all of the apps I've had and uninstalled over the years.
    I have followed the directions for cleaning out plugins and extensions from the library folders, but it's still happening.
    Does anyone know of an app that has this functionality, so I can check their forums, or, if there's no there a way to do a clean install of iTunes on a Mac?
    Thanks.

  • JSP ${} expressions in JSF tag attributes

    Does anyone know why the expert group decided not to allow ${} style expressions within JSF tag attributes? I understand that a different syntax is needed to implement the 'late binding' #{} expressions used to link input controls to form beans, but not why the JSF tags actually prevent the use of immediately evaluated ${} expressions for accessing variables in the page scope in JSP 2.0.
    I know there has been a lot of discussion about this and other threads mention a security loophole that would be opened up by allowing expressions like #{blah.${someProperty}}, but I'm not sure why this sort of thing would cause a problem. Is there any way to enable this behaviour, such as editing the JSF tag library descriptors to allow runtime expressions (horrible though that sounds)? Or perhaps another JSF implementation that supports both immediately evaluated and late-binding expressions? It seems a rather unnecessary restriction that is going to cause much confusion and mistyping for all...
    Thanks in advance,
    Keith.

    Thanks Adam, I see the problem now. It's a fairly obscure loophole but serious nonetheless. Of course, this problem could also be avoided by not using request parameters within JSF tags as it doesn't affect the majority of legitimate uses for expressions.
    I have to disagree with you about mixing ${} and #{} expressions though. The majority of developers will be used to writing ${} expressions in JSTL and JSP text and so will expect them to do work the same in JSF tags. Judging by the number of posts in this forum about being unable to use page scope variables in JSF tags this issue is already confusing a lot of people.
    As a rule of thumb, "use ${} for expressions that are output to the page and #{} for binding controls to backing beans and invoking methods" (which perform clearly distinct functions) is a lot simpler and easier to learn IMHO than the current one, which is "use ${} for expressions that are output to the page except within a JSF tag, where you use #{} for the same thing and also to update form values and invoke action methods"! (OK, I'm exaggerating a little for effect, but you get the point... :-)
    I agree that mixing both types of expression in the same attribute might be a little confusing, but this is an unlikely edge case that should probably be prevented in value binding or action attributes anyway. It's more of an issue for label values where mistyping one for the other is already very common and, although not especially difficult to debug, is just another pitfall awaiting the unwary JSP developer. I'm not sure that JSP expressions would be much more difficult to debug anyway as the value and method bindings will simply not work, which is pretty obvious as soon as you try and test the thing.
    Is this something that the EG would be prepared to reconsider for the next release of JSF, or perhaps getting the security loophole addressed in the next JSP spec? In the meantime, is there any reason that developers shouldn't enable runtime expressions in the TLD file provided that they're willing to live with the consequences?
    (Sorry to harp on about it, but I've already had several complaints about this after recommending JavaServer Faces for a major development project at ingenta.com.)
    Many thanks,
    Keith.

  • Different portrait rotation behaviour between LR 4.1 and ACR 7.1?

    I've only just recently got my hands on LR4 and have noticed a strange behaviour with 4.1.
    As a bit of background, I shoot in Raw [Nikon D300], usually edit in ACR/PS then I use iPhoto to keep my finished Jpegs in so I can show slideshows on my Apple TV and readily sync photos on my iPhone. Historically I've taken finished images from Bridge and dragged them into iPhoto and all has been well.
    However, I noticed something odd with my latest export of Jpegs from LR in that portrait images don't appear to be handled well. When I play a slideshow the portrait aspect photos are squashed to fit a landscape ratio. The Jpegs look normal in Bridge and also in Finder and Preview. They actually also initially appear in the correct aspect when viewing iPhoto events too. On digging a little deeper, if you try to edit one of these files in iPhoto it appears to be rotated on its side.
    Now if I take the same Raw images and edit them in CS6 and export them into iPhoto they work completely fine.
    What gives? Is there some form of rotation tagging descrepancy between the two Adobe products? Any idea of a work around?
    [FYI runnning Lion 10.7.4 on a 2.8 Ghz i7 12Gb iMac with all products patched and up to date]

    Hi Brett, it was the latest at the time, although it's just been updated again with the release of Aperture 3.3.
    At any rate, I've not had a problem since. I should perhaps qualify my statement above, when I typed "reimporting from scratch", I meant downloading the Raw files from my cards again. After that all was fine, perhaps a hiccup on the initial import? I'll report if it happens again.

  • Adobe Air HTML & JS Developing - Slow on massive Image-Tags

    Hello,
    I want to share a problem i noticed while developing an application with adobe air, based on the HTML & JS Stack, which uses multiple image-tags at the same time. I already mailed a bug but unfortunately did not get a bug number responded to refer to hit here. This post is started because i wanted to share a simple example which exhibits the problem.
    The Bug Report i mailed:
    ******BUG******
    Concise problem statement: Performance Issues with massive Image-Tags (scaled)
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Create a simple Air-Application. No need for any Air-specific library we just want the Air-Webkit to render a HTML-Page
    2.  Load ~130 Pictures with a dimension of approximately 1024 x 768 pixels.  Render each of them as a scaled Image-Tag with the dimension 100x60  pixels.
    3. Load the Page in the Air/Safari/Firefox/IE Environment (Versions: Air 2.5, Safari 5.0.2 (Win XP), FF 3.6.10, IE7)
    4. Try scrolling down/left/right/up and resizing the respective stage
    Results: The Air Environment performs worst among those 4. It reacts unacceptably slow while trying to resize and to scroll.
    Expected results: similar performance to Webkit-Engine in Safari.
    I know of one other discussion which seems to be related to a similar thing (http://forums.adobe.com/message/44913).
    The Page i used to compare the Adobe-Air rendering & scroll behaviour against the behaviour of Safari, FF and IE is posted beneath (pretty long due to the excerpt of 131 pictures taken of flicker web service).
    with best regards
    Robert
