Taking the Components into Production process

Hi All,
I have got one Businee Scenario for i need to map in SAP.
Scenario: Customer is sending the Components for making the finished goods. In this case Business will be using the customeru2019s components for production process.
Now, How to take the components inside the plant for the Production Processing
In this below points needs to be consider:
1. Components Stock should be Stock of this Production Plant
2. Components valuation should not effected of production Plant
3. These components should be used for the Production
Please suggest the Suitable Process in SAP.
Regards
Vinay

Hi,
Below process steps would help you.
Configure seperate storage location for customer materials which is not relevant to MRP. Receive Customer material with (101) or without (502) the purchase order. Maintain the material master with "S" standard price 0.01 so the iventory at the plant will always show minimum. Dont know HERS material type would be helpful to you.
Configure seperate movement type (261 to xyz) to issue the customer material into production process. The new movement type will help track the goods issues and goods receipts for customer materials.
I have following questions on your scenario:
(1) Would the customer material cost to be added to your finished prouct?
(2) Do you wanted to have the MRP for customer materials?
(3) Do you process customer material at the plant or JUST use them as it is?
Above questions will little change the process steps but overall it'll work.

  • Function Module /BAPI for changing the components in Production order

    Hi,
We are in ECC5.0. We have requirement wherein we want to change /delete the existing component of the production order and add new component through RFC call from an external system. We tried to use CO_XT_COMPONENT_ADD FM for adding new components and when we tested this FM in SM37  with data there were no error messages . When we checked the Production order ,no changes were made to the production order component. Tried to use Commit statement and there is no change in the system behavior. Can some one help me to  understand the system behavior . If possible kindly suggest me some alternate FM/BAPI .

  • How to determine the oldest batch to the components of a process order??

    Hi gurus,
While releasing I have configures to determine automatically the batches at order release, I want that system assign for each component of the process order the oldedst batch ( I can control wich batch is older because is a consecutive number so assigning the smallest batch should work)
Right now system doesn't allow to to release because is asking for the batch for each material, so it seems to me that the batch determination is not happening, I created a batch and a characteristic but I dont know if this must be done of if I have to do something else, please guide me trough the steps needed to achieve this with Tcodes.
    Thanks
    Julio

    Hi Julio
I hope you want to use the FIFO method for the batch Determination,,
it can be done through STD config settings,,
    1. Characteristics for the LAST GR date-CT04
    2. Batch sort rule-CU70
    3. Define the batch determination for the Process orders-COB1
In the Batch master there is a Field - Last GR date,, you have to maintain this as a Characteristics and make as automatic populate field based on the LAST GR field from Basic Data1 from the Batch Master,,
This field you ref on Batch Sort rule.. and Define the batch determination how it has to pick (like- Split batch, One after other)
After this at the time of issue the goods click the Batch determination- it will provide the list of batches,, if not picj the rules first time, there itself you can select the rules and assign to get the batch list by last GR date
Ref the below links for further details

  • Taking the plunge into video

Well, I've finally done it... ordered a video ( digital I guess you'd call it ) underwater camera.... or at least waterproof until your ears pop.
anyone have any hints or suggestions how to make the most of this...speak up !
eg. shots you've taken in pools, at beaches, on boats, in thunderstroms, etc ??
This fairly new camera ( olympus TG-1 ) is something totally new to me, as I've never shot any digital stuff ( except the red tests I did a while ago ).
My mousey computer had a tough time dealing with red raw ( winxp and cs3 )...so I had to use redcineX to convert to SD.  But this camera... maybe I will have to use cineform or something...??
My plan is to make a vampire movie...or a zombie movie...
I'm hoping I can get someone to star in it for a reasonable amount of $$...
My first choice would be Colin..if he is anywhere near MN.  For example, if he can make THIS FACE while wearing vampire teeth, UNDERWATER.... HE'S HIRED !
Hope you are well, Colin, and I often think of you.
It's amazing that my first digital camera , a powershot S10 ( which cost like $800 at B&H on 9th Ave. and was worth about 25 cents a month later  ) was way less capable than this new Olympus camera that you can use while drinking all the coors lite in town...cause if you drop it, nothing bad happens.

Crocodile Dundee, eh? I saw that, plus at least one of the sequels, but did not recall such a shot? Maybe I need to revisit that film. As I recall, it was rather fun, though I seem to remember the sequal (set in NYC?) was less so.
Maybe it was Greg Norman, reaching into the water hazard, when the croc struck? Do not recall him having tattoos, but perhaps Chris Evert can verify that?
If your actress does not already have a "tramp stamp" at the small of her back, perhaps you can use one of those temporary tattoos, and have something like a pentagram in the center - that could establish her link to the occult, hence why the vampire golfer chooses her.
You could then do a tangent on "devil-worshipping golfers," who sell their souls for better scores, only to have to finally "pay up," when Little Nicky shows up, just before the "club championship."
Let's see, the soundtrack could start with Ry Cooder's theme from Southern Comfort, and then go to Charlie Daniels' The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
Now, playing Art Director, I see a logistical problem. I see the golf course in the Deep South, with plenty of Spanish moss in the oaks, and maybe even some cypress trees at the edge of the water hazard. The "clubhouse" is an old, antebellum plantation house, and a Civil War battle was fought on what is now the golf course. Of course, there WERE slaves, and dead soldiers involved. No one in the plantation was happy, all of the way, up to the "master," who missed the cut in the 1863 British Open Championship...
Now, I have not figured out where Ollie, the "vampire eel" got HIS start, Maybe a first cousin to the Loch Ness Monster, but from Transylvania (Corund - Praid - Sovata)?
OK, there ARE some continuity issues, but nothing that we cannot work through.

    Try this..
You can have the BOM of the Finl material with the customers materials as the COMPONENTS...
Then in cs02 ,double click the item numbers (components) and uncheck the costing relevency indicator..
This will make the accountability in stock and not in valuation..
    hope this helps..

  • Getting Error when convert the plan order into production order

    Hi Experts,
When i converting the planorder into production order i am getting this error
could you please suggest me hoew can i resolve this issue.
    Message no. CK466
    Diagnosis
The system could not calculate a price for the internal activity with activity type 20000 of cost
center 110TUP002 because none of the valuation strategies in valuation variant 006 was successful.
    System Response
If the system issues a warning message or an information message, the costing item will be
used in costing with a value of zero.
If the system issues an error message, it sets the status "KF" (costed with errors).
If the system issues a termination message, the cost estimate cannot be processed.
    Procedure
    1. Check the master data for activity type 20000 of cost center 110TUP002.
    2. If you have authorization for Customizing, check the valuation strategy for internal activities
    in valuation variant 006.
    Thanks&regards.

    Hi,
For the orders for which you get the error, note the dates, then check in KSBT, whether there is price maintained for that period.
Eg: If the order has a start - 2nd Aug, 2010 & end 10th Aug, 2010, then check if price exists for period - 08, year - 2010
    Regards,
    Vivek
    Added
If the values are maintained, then check the costing variants specified for the order type in OPL8 for plant - order type combination in cost accounting tab. Then in OPL1, check the details specified for the variants. If you're not sure on this, take help from your FI-Co colleague.

  • ATP Check Finished Goods against Components for production planning

    Hi All,
Our business has a requirement that they want finished goods to be planned based on the availability of components. Currently we have an APO solution which plans at finished goods level only so there is no need to bring components into APO. We will probably use CTM (currently using Heuristics)
We have concerns about the harm that this will do to our system performance and we really do not want to bring these components into APO.  We are therefore interested if there is any way we can avoid bringing these components into APO.
In the past, there use to be a seperate ATP server from SAP where this could be done but my understanding is that this was discontinued and is no longer supporetd. Can someone advise me if there was a product that replaced this ATP Server or does anyone have any suggestions on how we can avoid bringing the components into APO. Please consider that it is not possible to limit to just critical components.
    Mark

    Mark,
Hmmm..   Your seem to be considering adding hardware to support ATP server, but you seem unwilling to consider adding more hardware to the current SCM solution?  Doesn't make much sense to me.  Like most SAP products, SCM/APO can be expanded almost infinitely, if you need performance gains.  Which you don't know yet.
Anyhow, depending on your requirements, CTM is probably overkill.  PPDS or SNP alone would be adequate.  If enhanced availability checking is what you want, then one of the GATP solutions would work.
I guess ATP server still exists (run transaction ACBD from ECC) but I don't think I have ever seen anyone use ATP server at the same time they are using SCM.   All ATP server does is move the processing load of ECC ATP check onto a distinct buffered memory area.  I don't see how that will solve your problem, but I guess I don't really understand what you mean by "planned based on the availability of components." You don't need anything special to plan FGs in SCM and components in R/3, this is pretty standard.

  • Unable to get the log for Suspended process in BPM

    Hi All,
We are integrating SAP BPM with SAP BRFPlus.
We created a rule in a BRFPlus function and converted that function as a RFC.
Now we imported the RFC into BPM process and did the subsequent settings as per the blog
Calling ABAP RFC in CE BPM 7.2
But when we check the process,it shows to be suspended and when we try to resume it it still goes in error.
in the BPM we did not create any activity other than one automated activity hosting the RFC between start and end steps.
Can you please guide me where to check the error log and how to resolve this error with automated activity?
Checked most of the articles and blogs on SDN but did not find any answer.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Siddhant,
Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs.
We are getting the following error.
A technical error during invocation: Could not invoke service reference name
Tried with all the possible help from SDN but could not find the solution.
We have created a BRFPLUS function converted it into RFC and imported that RFC into the BPM process and inserted it into an automated activity activity between start and end process.
We got the error while testing the automated activity.
Can you please guide us?This is very important.

  • How can we tell the client that use process order or production order (proc

    Dear guru,
My question on what reason we can tell the client that u have to use process order or production order .
On what scenario we suggest client that use process order or production order

    Hi,
Process manufacturing is primarily designed for the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries as well as the batch-oriented electronics industry
Discrete manufacturing is u201Cthe production of distinct items such as automobiles, appliances, or computers,u201D whereas process manufacturing covers u201Cproduction that adds value by mixing, separating, forming, and/or performing chemical reactions. It may be done in either batch or continuous mode.u201D
Letu2019s think about what your company manufactures. Does it require mixing chemicals? If so, you may need an ERP system that does things like calculate ingredient quantities.
If your company assembles products from many component parts, youu2019ll require discrete manufacturing functionality
    Other approach:
If the finish good cannot return back to its basic components, your manufacturing is Process. For instance, the finish good is a can of soda. It cannot return back to its basic components such as carbonated water, potassium benzoate, aspartame, citric acid, and other ingredients. But if the finish good is car or computer, your manufacturing process is Discrete because it can be disassembled and the parts, to a large extent, can be returned to stock. Therefore Bill of Material (BOM) of discrete manufacturing consists of component parts for assembly while Process manufacturing consist of formulas, recipes and other ingredients
Process manufacturing is scalable. If a formula calls for 1,000 pounds of cake flour, but you only have 500 pounds, you can still bake cakesu2014just not as many. Conversely, in discrete manufacturing, one missing part means waiting for it before the finished assembly unit can start rolling off the production line
The obligatory requisite for process manufacturing is Lot Potency and Shelf Life where as discrete manufacturing values Serial Numbers, ECNu2019s and assembles.
If it is discrete manufacturing ---go for Production order
If it is process manufacturing ---go for process order
    thanks and regards

  • Missing Process order components in product View

    Dear all,
We have a problem with Process order in APO.
We have created a planned order in APO and converted to process order . All the components of the order are APO relevant and PPM is having  all the  components . When We create the planned order , RRP3 is showing all the components but when we convert the planned order to process order , then the components are missing in product view . But all the components are available in Process order in ECC . We deleted the process order in APO and again CIF the order from ECC to APO , but still the components are not appearing .  We need to have all the components of the order to plan the dependent demands.
We checked the Queues and found no blocked queues .
Can any one suggest me what could be the problem.
    Thanks & Regards
    Prabhakar

    Hi Prabhakar,
How are you integrating your production order - like are you sending the planned order to ECC and convert there or you are not transferring the planned order to ECC, but setting the conversion indicator in APO?
If you don't integrate the planned order to ECC, then all the components will be displayed in APOby exploding APO PDS - no active integration model required for components.
If you integrate the planned order to ECC, then in ECC, the BOM explosion happens. - So, active integration model required.

If you are using a standalone version of Lightroom, you may have updated with the CC-licensed update. That will not work. If this is your situation then it will be necessary for you to uninstall Lightroom and then install an update from a different website. Assuming that you are using Lightroom 5, this is where you need to download from:
    Product updates
After you make the change you will be able to continue from where you left off. The switchover does not affect your images or your catalog.

  • What standards to you follow for moving processes into production?

During our last audit, one of the findings is that we should not have the OWB production repository open to all of the developers at all times. As a result of this finding, we allow the developers to develop in the OWB development repository. We have not yet established a promotion process that we are completely comfortable with. What processes do other ogranizations follow that enable us to lock down the production environment and yet provide a mechanism that processes can be promoted into production?

    Hi,
    Its pretty easy, once your development completed;
    1) export to mdl file (OWB metadata) the ne or modified objects
    2) create a generic OMBPlus script that will perform all required tasks
    -register you locations
-deploy connectors, objects, process flow & perform the required grants
We have been doing this for over 4 years now... The Dba can't be more pleased as they just need to execute a single script and send us the log file.
Now creating that generic script is not easy but its worth it. We have close to 20 owb environment. Every time a new project starts, we trash one environment, put up out "template dbs" (sources & target) and run OMPPlus which will deploy every single object and perform the grants, etc... w/o any supervision.
BTW in a multiple environment situation(like ours), the script is also used to perform the retrofits!
