Task Search in Group Queue
Hi,
I am trying to provide search facility to the users using the search templates. The task are assigned to a group "Reviewers". All of the reviewers can see the task in the group queue that appears left to the to-do list.
I have created a search templates and its work fine with the tasks in the To- Do list. but it is not working for the group. Do i have to do some settings in the workflow, task ACL etc?

Thanks for your reply. What is the use of search templates? only searching tasks in the To-Do list or in tracking list.
Is there a workaround to this problem? By Task sharing ? Customizing task ACL?
I want to allow users to seach the task that are in the group queue. I was checking the ACL in the User Action. if i am assigning any user to it then he can search the task.
I am thinking to create some custom component that will allow users in that group to have access to the task using APIs. Can you please help me on this because this is very a critical requirement from our client.

In human task, dynamically assign group doesn't work
Oracle SOA 11.1.1.4
My bpel process invokes a human task.
On the human task Assignment tab, I assigned 3 users (by name), 1 group (by expression).
The group is configured in LDAP
When I tested the bpel process, I entered the group and other data required.
From the worklist app, I see the task listed. It is assigned to the 3 users, but not the dynamically passed-in group.
From the Audit trail, I saw all data I entered (include the group). Everything seems correct, but I still can’t make the dynamically-pass-group work.
If I assign the group by name in human task, it works fine.
The problem is: dynamically assign group doesn't work.
Please kindly advice.Yes, it is possible assign a group as participant of some human task, passing the group name as parameter.
I have tested just now.
It works pretty well in SOA 11.1.1.4 (BPEL or BPM).
Make sure add a data parameter in your human task definition and pass a valid group name to it.
At the Assignment tab, in the participants' list, add a group, data type by expression, and set the value to the right xpath expression to the corresponding parameter.
For example: /task:task/task:payload/task:group
If it is not working look the SOA log files, probably you'll find some information about the error there. Maybe there is some problem with your jazn.com configuration.
You can also test if there is something wrong related to the group name, trying to transfer some task to the same group by the worklist. -
Assigning Task to a Group of people not to just one person through staffing
We have a requirement of assigning a task to a group (team) rather than assiging to just one person.
In cprojects according to the standard we create the BP for a person, then assign the task in cprojects using this BP number. This would be done if we have the role as EMPLOYEE.
If we want the task to be assigned to a group (team) so that the task can be picked by any person in that team ,is there any configration in the BP number or is there any thing we need to do in cprojects?
As soon as the task gets released we need the tasks to be appearing in all the tasks dashboards of all the people. As soon as the task is completed we want the task to go away from all the dashboards. That means there should be a connection bewteen the team and the individuals on the team.
Should we be creating a BP number for the team and then assign the individual BP numbers of the people to this Team BP?
Please help me out in this.
Please let me know if you need more information on the same.
I knwo this can be done by manually staffing all the people to the role in cprojects, but this is a very cumbersome process.

1) When we link the BP which represents the Team, what Role iN BP transaction should i assign it to? Should this BP be a person BP or a Organization BP or a Group BP?
2) once i have Ztable in which i map the entries, all we need to do is to write a piece of code that when ever the task with the Team BP is released, check for this table and pick up all the other EMPLOYEE role based BP and connect them so that the tasks appear in all these task dashboards. Right?

On Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2, when you use the Search for Group Policy Objects feature in GPMC, the “Value” field is not populated when you choose “User Configuration” as the Search Item. (See Figure 1.)

Cause
The happens because the Data of the (Default) value of the following Registry Key is not correct.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions\{4D2F9B6F-1E52-4711-A382-6A8B1A003DE6}]
By default the Data is (value not set). (see Figure 2)

The registry keys under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions] are the Group Policy Preference Client Side Extensions. The CSE name of the GUID {4D2F9B6F-1E52-4711-A382-6A8B1A003DE6} is
RemoteApp and Desktop Connections. Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
1. Locate the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions\{4D2F9B6F-1E52-4711-A382-6A8B1A003DE6}]
2. Take the ownership of this key: Right click on the registry key and choose Permissions option and click the Advanced button on the dialogue window. Then on the Advanced Security Settings dialogue window, click Change button to take the ownership
of the key for the current logon account and make the current logon account Full Control permission with the registry key. (See Figure 3.)

3. Change the data of (Default) value from "(value not set)" to
"RemoteApp and Desktop Connection Component". (See Figure 4)

4. Once the steps above are completed, the Value drop down list will be populated again when you perform Search in GPMC. (See Figure 5)

I have one RO : for eg. Laptop
Process definition for this task and in process definition I have added one process task create user ..
and I am asigning this task to One Group.
But that approval request goes to xelsysadm instead of group member.
why is it so?I think you are confused between approval process and provisioning process.
You have to assign the task to the required group in approval process.
Since your approval request is going to xelsysadm i am assuming you have standard approval process.
Assign the task in standard approval process to your group and the approval will go to your group.

Please verify the followings:
After Participants, select Parallel(all at a once)
Expand Task Options, select ‘Assign a task to each member within groups’
Open the action properties, make sure ExpandGroup is Yes
Also in SharePoint Designer ,you can edit the property for the Start Approval Porcess to enable ExpandGroup:

But, I don`t see "Employee Responsible" in "Create Business Transactions for Target Group Members".
How can I set Employee Responsible for Tasks?

What i observed while creating Task from TG is we dont have fileds from where we can assign Emp responsible, as in Task Partner detemination(Standard) Access sequence we use for Emp responsible is User, and when we create Task from TG sytem takes User's Id as a Emp reponsible i.e. using which user u r creating Task from TG.

GPP Scheduled Task Fails in Group Policy Modeling depending on DC
We have multiple domain controllers running at a 2003 functional level.
We have 1 DC running Server 2003 x86 SP2 and the rest run Server 2008 (maybe R2)
I created a GPO that includes a Scheduled Task Group Policy Preference under Computer Configuration.
In order to test this I used Group Policy Modeling in the GPMC on a 2008 R2 Machine where I am editing Group Policy.
If I run the modeling (perform the simulation on the 2003 DC it fails. (Note I am modeling the GPO for a different computer, not the 2003 SP2 DC, I am running the modeling for a Workstation)

If I run the modeling using a 2008 DC to perform the simulation it works fine.
Per the instructions on the Summary Tab regarding the scheduled task failure I look at the event log on the 2003 domain controller and this is what i find.
The event I get on the 2003 DC is 8196 and I will place the details below.

So, should I be concerned that this is failing on the 2003 DC, does this mean that if my workstations authenticate to my 2003 DC that the preference will not process?
I was reading that in 2003 client side extensions were not there and can be installed, would this make the modeling succeed?

As you have found the reason, I want to confirm whether the issue has been fixed.
In fact, for Windows Server 2003 to apply or process Group Policy Preferences settings, we must install client-side extensions of GPP for Windows Server 2003.
Although this is not related to this case, for your information, if our clients are Windows XP or Windows Vista, to use GPP, we must install client-side extensions for these
workstations respectively.

Sharepoint 2013 custom search results grouping display template

I am trying to implement custom grouping for search result items. I would like to group them by a managed property, but without using result blocks (query rules). The idea is to sort the results by the property and then compare the current item (ctx.CurrentItem)
with the previous item using ctx.CurrentItem.ParentTableReference. If a new property value is detected we insert a new 'group header' (just some simple html). The problem is the ParentTableReference is undefined. Shouldn't there be such a property in current
item object?

I suggest you get enumerate all properties of JavaScript context object and debug you code to watch the
ctx.CurrentItem object.

Searching 'parent' group for member of 'sub group'
Running XI 3.1 using Windows AD SSO . BOE group 'Report users' contains Windows AD subgroup '<domainname\groupname>'. In CMC searching for an individual user from parent BOE group 'Report users' search returns nothing. When searching 'User list' the user is returned. When searching Windows AD subgroup '<domainname\groupname>' directly the user is returned.
Is there a way to search for an individual from the parent BOE group level?
Thanks in advance for any info.members of a sub groups will not display in the parent unless you copy them to the parent. This is by design. The reason nothing returns is because they aren't actually members. But since they belong to a sub group that is a member then they will inherit permissions from the parent. This is usually why everything gets set up this way.
There may be a complex query that you can try with query builder to pull both group members and sub group members. Best to check in the [SDK forums|/community [original link is broken]; for that.

Enable Safe Search in Group Policy
We ran across an issue where if a Student typed xxx in the Google Search and then click images, they are submitted to more than an eye full of inappropriate images. We have the "Safe Search" enabled on our Sonic Wall, but that still does
not stop the images.

Besides, we can also try to configure a dummy proxy in Group Policy Preferences Internet Settings item to block websites for IE 10 or above, but GPP settings can be manually edited by users after the settings get applied. If our IE versions

Limited searching on Group share, can't automount
Hi, OS X Server newbie here, but I'm starting to get a decent feel of how things work.
I have set up OD and the client computers up with mobile accounts that store their home directory locally but still allow authentication. I lumped the appropriate users into a group, say "officegroup", with their own share, /Groups/officegroup.
Now, once clients log in to their workstation, I cannot get the group share to automount. To access it I have to go through Finder, enter the username and password, and it works fine. I thought that upon login, authentication would be good to go to access other services and the user would not have to enter their username and password in again. I've checked DNS (dig, dig -x, -checkhostname, etc.), and everything checks out fine and says that it's all being resolved correctly. So, what am I missing?
Second, it seems that searching is limited in the group share. If I search for something, only folders come up, but no files. Spotlight is enabled on the share, I've rebuilt the indexes with mdutil, but nothing changes. Any ideas?

NateI wanted to write what I found out in hopes of helping someone else who uses OS X Server and isn't as experienced as some people who contribute here. When I upgraded to 10.4, I was using Netinfo domain and Open Directory to bind my clients to the server. In WGM I had to authenticate to LDAP, for reasons I still don't completely understand. I wasn't however, correctly using LDAP for authentication across my network.
I used Server Admin to migrate my Netinfo domain to LDAP in Open Directory. Then I turned on DHCP in OS X Server and turned off DHCP on my router. Then I used DIrectory Access to configure LDAP to use DHCP-supplied addresses and added an entry for my server. I disabled Netinfo on each client once I verified that this worked.
Once this was done the automounts showed up in the correct location as specified in WGM. And no, you don't have to create the folders on the client machines. In addition, my authentication for my users has been fixed to use LDAP properly (well, at least as far as I can tell at this point).
All of this info is in the Open Directory and Authentication Manual. The lesson I learned is that the OD stuff has to be properly configured otherwise services that depend on it will not perform quite right. What's scary is that I used this half-baked configuration since I installed Tiger a long time ago. I run a simple server-based enironment in my house, so I never picked up on the inconsistency.
