Hi Ashok,
An organization can not assign bank, equity or tax information to business area directly, so you can't create legally required financial statements or tax reports using only business area.

    HI Gurus,
    My client wants Tax line itmes at Busienss Area level.
    Please help me on validation and substitutions to post taxline itmes at business area level.
    Below is the Scenario:
    Input Tax
    Purchase A/c--------------Dr (Business Area)
    Input Tax A/c--------------Dr (Business Place)
              To Vendor A/c-----------------Cr(Business Area)
    Output TAX
    CustomerA/c--------------Dr (Business Area)
           To Sales A/c--------------------Cr(Business Area)
           To Out Put Tax A/c-----------Cr(Business Place)
    AS-IS
    In the above two transactions. Tax
    GL(which is automatic posting)is being determined by Business place.
    Expectations:
    Client wants Input and Output tax
    line items at Business Area level.
    Please help to post the taxline itmes at business area level.

    Hi Ashok,
    It is not possible to derive business area wise tax line items. As per SAP standard business area never pass to tax line items while posting the journals ,if there is no document splitting activated wrt business area and no enhancments to fetch business area.
    You can achieve the same ,if you implement splitting business area level or else enhancment.

  • Posting without Business Area

    Hi,
    I am trying to post one  entry with B/S GL a/c as below:
    Dr. 400001 - 1000 INR with Business Area 1000
    Cr. 400001 - 1000 INR without Business Area
    I.e., I am nullifying (the value) the Balances at the Business Area level, but system is taking the Business Area in the second line item also as below:
    Dr. 400001 - 1000 INR with Business Area 1000
    Cr. 400001 - 1000 INR with Business Area 1000 (the system automatically picking the Business Area from the first line item - which we dont want).
    Could any body help on this ASAP?

    The business area field will appear at the time of posting the transaction, because when you pick a GL account for posting the system will check in the field status group of the relevant GL account. Check in FS00  and find the field status then go to OBC4, there check in additional account assignment where you will fin business area as optional or required etc...
    You can make the filed as suppressed.

    Is there a way to report accounts receivable on Business Area level?
    I want to use the InfoCube 0FIAR_C02 for reporting transactional A/R data - the customer has 1 company code and below this 7 business areas on which receivable reporting should be realized.

    Hi Alexander,
    Its very easy to do on the line item cube/DSO. You need to customize the datasource 0FI_AR_4. Its a very simple activity because the field GSBER (Business Area) is already there AR line item tables so you dont need to write a routine to puplulate this field.
    Just go to RSA6, double click on 0FI_AR_4 and then open the extraction strucutre by double clicking on it. Click on 'Append Structure'. Add the field GSBER there and save and activate the structure. Go back to RSA6 and unhide this field if its hidden. Check this DS in RSA3 if it's populating the correct values.
    Now on the BI side just add this characteristic (0BUS_AREA) in your infoprovider and the remaining data flow (Transformations/update rules/transfer rules etc).

  • Tax line items when travel expenses are posted to intercompany

    Hello Experts,
    We are posting a expense report  to a different cost center other than the Master cost center(IT0001). In this case system understanding as intercompany transaction and posting the travel expenses to different cost center and different company code. But the problem is when there is a tax calcualted, this tax is initially getting posted to original master cost center and again transfering the taxes to the intercompany cost center. this is creating an additional FI documents and also additional tax line items which is becoming very difficult for reconcilation.
    can any one suggest me where could be the correction required in order to post the taxes to intercompany cost center in the first instance itself.

    Hi Srinivas,
    Profit center was not picking for tax line item when we were doing multiple cost center in a TRIP. So we have activated "not deductible" in VST and it got worked.
    Later when we got a Cross company employee vendor posting, tax line items are posting in both company codes.
    So we have deactivated "not deductible" in VST and activated "set expense company code" in table T706K (to allow cross company code postings in TM)
    And defined a new solution in New GL config for the first prblem.
    We have not changed anything in "posting indicator" in OBCN, it was 2 (Separate line item) only. You should not change this.
    All postings went fine.

    The additional assignment of AAR is only the place where BA is integrated.
    Please check the AAR generated for the transaction is the same for which you defined Business Area as the key for updating BA is through AAR.

  • Business Area postings in Tax line items

    Hi Experts,
    As we know that Business Area is not updated in the tax line items, In one our company code we have done BA adjustment through F.5D and F.5E in 2007, after that there are thousands of line items in the system without business areas, now my client wants a tallied business area trial balance from 2007 onwards or aleast to ensure that the tax line items should get business area assignments from hereafter,  and also recently we have created one more company code, Please help how do I ensure that all the tax line items and items with blank business areas get the business area postings. Is there any user exit or any work around available for this... At present we have only one GL for Inter business area clearing for all types of accounts (reconciliation, tax accounts) in OBXM.

    Hello,
    Are NewGL and document splitting active in your system? If yes, you should solve this problem with using splitting function.
    Otherwise, you can use business transaction event 00001120.
    I explained step by step how can you activate BTE 00001120. I give you message below.
    Re: FBCJ - Cash Journal Transaction
    In this exit, you must update t_bsegsub-gsber field which t_bseg-buzid = 'T' for tax item.
    But you can not split tax line items in this exit. For example in invoice you have 2 or more business area, but tax line item doesn't create for each buiness area (If you don't use document splitting functon). So in this exit you can only assign a business area to tax line item which is automatically generate while posting FI document.

    Please kindly read the SAP note number 199886     Business area in tax line
    In the value-added tax line items, the field "Business area" is NEITHER
    automatically filled NOR can you enter a value manually.
    Postings to VAT accounts must be made WITHOUT business area. The reason
    for this is that the field "Business area" does NOT exist in the tax
    data. Therefore,the advance return for tax on sales/purchases can also
    only generate postings WITHOUT business area and these postings must
    correspond exactly to the original tax postings in your account
    assignments. Otherwise, the tax accounts would have steadily increasing
    business area balances.
    Unfortunately I must inform you that the business area is not available
    for substitution because it can cause inconsistences in AM,CO and MM
    modules.
    Substituting the B.A.field is a modification to the standard SAP
    system. To make the business area field substitutable you must have
    written an ABAP to update table GB01 for the GSBER field, this is
    all explained in SAP note 42615.

    We are in ECC 6 version of SAP. We are using Business Area for Internal Financial Statement. We are facing a problem with regard to Business area in Payroll posting. Business area does not appear in vendor line items when we make posting of payroll for multiple business area. We have setting technical accounts for HR. We read SAP note 203276 and it seems that it is possible. Can someone tell us what is the reason that business area not coming in vendor line item while payroll posting.

    That part we have already done. The problem only come when we run payroll and there are vendors belonging to several business area in that case system keep the business area field blank. In case if we set field status required system give error. That is why we run payroll by each business area we also have maintained technical account for 1001.

  • Business area in service tax

    In India service tax liability amount is derived based on regional (UWK) sale/purchase .
    Service tax GLs are not updated with business area at entry level.But business place is updated against each line items.
    At the time of payment against clearing with open item , one UWK get all open items .
    Hence it is difficult to identify his/her own UWK for clearing those line items with payment. I have checked the possibility of filtering with business area but not by business place.
    Is there any way to search open items at the time of clearing with business place ? customized screen selection is possible for filtering purpose ?

    Do you mean VAT by saying service tax? If VAT, you are correct, VAT lines do not have business area information. It is available by using New GL.
    F.5D F.5E Business Area adjustment may provide similar effect by offset balancing, but this is only summary basis, may not be line by line.
    Strict usage like F.03, New GL would not be sufficient to your requirement. New GL doesn't work with clearing screens, it only work behind FI transactions.
    But the overall need i.e. division balance sheet would be realized either way (F.5E or New GL).

    BAPI _ ACC _ INVOICE _ RECEIPT _ POST for FB60 invoice creation,
    In this I am facing Problem to Pass Business area, in BAPI _ ACC _ INVOICE _ RECEIPT _ POST no Business area field found (for vender line Item) this is required for us
    and in this bapi '' BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_CREATE '' business area field is available when I pass value in that it is asking Profit center in Header Data

    My voucher should be posted like (entry view):
    Dr expense a/c Business Area 1100
    Cr Cash a/c Business Area 1100
    But in my clint need  to post diffrent business area  in line items ( like cash in ho level exp branch level
    so its different business area , in above entry its taking both line items one business area i.e exp business area its taking. How to resolve

    Please note the following.
    You have inheritance active for your document splitting. Please see same via customizing
    SPRO -> General ledger accounting (New) -> Business transactions ->Document splitting -> Activate document splitting(Please review the F1 help on the inheritance field).

    Addition, Please be aware that even with NewGL Document Split functionality active, the interface with MM is basically unchanged from previuos releases. As in previous release and described on note 199886, business area on tax account is always blank. if you want to see GSBER in entry view, you have to run SAPF180 as well.
