Taxes in R12

All,
I got the following Tax details from the ETRM. From the Oracle documentation, I observed that to support the customer migrated from prior release to R12, Oracle retains the 11i tax tables in addition to the new tables for R12.
EBusiness Tax
ZX_TAXES_B - This table stores taxes for multiple configuration owners. Each row stores a tax for a specific regime and configuration owner
ZX_TAXES_TL - This table provides multilingual support (MLS) for each tax. MLS enables you to store and print data that you define in multiple languages
ZX_TAX_PRIORITIES_T - This table stores priorities of taxes and regimes. Each row records the priority for either a tax or a regime. This table is used for tax groups’ migration from prior releases
ZX_TAX_RELATIONS_T - This table stores parent child relationships of tax codes within tax groups. This table is used for tax groups’ migration from prior releases
I have following queries,
Since Oracle retains the tax tables of 11i in R12, does that mean during migration, 11i table data will move to the new R12 tables?
If not, do we need to maintain two separate queries to pull Tax info?
Creating Tax Groups. The two tables (ZX_TAX_PRIORITIES_T & ZX_TAX_RELATIONS_T) say it supports tax groups’ migration from prior releases!!!
How to create Tax Groups? Will it affect these two tables?
Nb: I gone thru the R12 Config & User guide. It talks more about functional than technical. Any pointers to tech.doc would be of great help
Thanks,
Sen

  • Problem setting up Tax for R12 Internet Expenses

I am using Oracle R12 and am in the process on configuring Internet Expenses and have come across an issue with the tax set up. My issue is that I have created new tax rates in the Tax Manager responsibility for internet expenses (i have enabled the Internet Expenses check box when defining this new rate) and have assigned these rates to items in the Expense Templates. I have also enabled the profile option OIE: Enable Tax profile however when I create an expense report and it is imported into Payables the expense report does not populate with the tax code that I configured in the expense template. The tax code that is being populated is the default defined against the country code which is incorrect. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the expense report to import with the correct tax code that is populated against the item in the expense template? Thanks

    Log into tax manager
navigation: default and controls --->application tax options , in the application name, select internet expenses
this where you tell the system to pick up tax from, depending on your set up, the tax gets defaulted
so you need to define the hierarchy and if you want tax to default from you expense template you need to stipulate that in the set up

  • General Ledger Tax in R12

To me it looks like R12 GL module only supports simple "Tax Rate Code" based tax calculations. Tax Rules are not supported. Can anyone confirm this?
    Thanks

In R-12 To initiate the transfer of Receivables accounting information from Oracle Subledger Accounting to Oracle General Ledger, run the Create Accounting program in final
mode. When you create final accounting, the Create Accounting program transfers data about your adjustments, chargebacks, credit memos, commitments, debit memos,
invoices, and receipts to a Subledger Accounting interface table and, depending on other entered parameters, runs Journal Import and posts the journal entries in General
Ledger. Or, you can create draft accounting first; later, when you create the final accounting, you can complete the transfer and posting process. Draft accounting entries cannot be transferred to General Ledger.

  • Are you using Withholding Tax in R12........

    Hi all,
A question to anyone using Withholding Tax in EBS R12…..or, to put it another way is anyone using Withholding Tax in EBS R12?
We are using it and we have encountered a big issue – for each invoice that has AWT two payments are being generated, the first is the correct payment and the second is a payment for £0.00. On the face of it this is not a big problem, however the accounting for the second payment is resulting in the liability account being overstated (this is not easily identifiable when using standard reports).
We are currently working with Oracle to create a datafix (and hopefully get a patch to stop the issue), but I am wondering if anyone else has the same issue?
    Regards
    Carl

    Avalim,
Personally, I am determining that I like to use the MathScript Node in LabVIEW.  It makes it easier for me to pass my data in and out of the LabVIEW environment!!  But, like you, I am excited to see what any other users think!!

  • Setting up tax in R12

    Hi,
I have to setup new tax structure. My requirement is as follows:
we have vendors outside Switzerland, we have to pay VAT on the payment of every purchase. In order to post these VAT amount paid to vendor of different countries we need to define new GL accounts and those should be attached to new tax classification code which we select at line level in AP workbench form.
I know that we have to setup new tax rates for this under some regime. My question is, do I have to create a new regime if suppose vendor is from Italy? and have to setup the whole structure for this regime? Also what is configuration Owner? and Global configuration Owner?
Please suggest any documentation or case study. Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

That is correct. The reason for having the same under the Payables Manager responsibility is backward compatibility reasons. Also there may be customers who might not license the CE module but will need this setup for having Payables work.
    Thanks

  • Set up of Self Assessment Tax in R12.1.2

    Hi Experts,
I would like to know the setups related to calculation of self assessed taxes in payables.
I am able to calculate taxes based on Ship to location but taxes are not automatically checked as self assessed. I can manually check the box but expecting the system to do it automatically.
    Regards,
    Ramesh

    please check,
    - You would need to setup the rule based on the registration status
    - Enable the self assessment flag at the OU or establishment level
    - At supplier party level mark the supplier/site as registered or 'not registered'
    - enable the calculate tax flag in the 'Tax reporting' tab at supplier site level
    - then the system would mark the tax as self assessed if the registration of supplier is set to not registered.
    please consider the above steps.
    thanks.

  • TCA - Party Tax Profile - R12

I have a question regarding the Tax Profile for the Party. Tax Consultant has done the Tax setup.
As per his setup we need to populate the Tax Profile.
I am not sure which API I should use for this. We need to convert the data from legacy to oracle.
Fiscal Classification Type Code *Fiscal Classification Code
are stored in the HZ_CLASS_CATEGORIES and HZ_CLASS_CODE_DENORM.
But I am not sure how to tie this with the Party.
    Also I used the
    hz_classification_v2pub.create_code_assignment API,
but it just created a entry in the hz_code_assignments with the class category
as 'CUSTOMER EXCEPTION CLASS' and CATEGORY as Leasing. But it doesn't appear on the screen.
I would appreciate if you can let me know how we would be able to do it.
    Thanks

  • Tax Line in R12 in Quick Invoices Screen

    Hi Friends,
Actually, am facing some problems relating to eB Tax architecture of R12.
In R12, I am trying to create one invoice through Quick Invoices screen.
    The invoice contains.. 2 Lines.
    1. Item Line.
    2. Tax Line. I have entered all the information related to Tax (Tax Regime, Tax, Tax Status, Tax Rate Name).
I saved the invoice and ran the Payables Open interface import program.
It is getting rejected during import process with the following error.
"The invoice cannot contain Tax Lines as tax calculation will be done for the invoice".
Kindly help me with this issue.
    Regards,
    Ajit

    Hi Suhasar,
Thanks for your response. But the main thihng, i would like to know is:
In 11i, we used to create a new line of type TAX and work.
Doesn't the same thing work in R12?
If not, then why are we allowed to create a line of type, "Tax" in R12?
What could be the reason for providing it but the same thing does not work out while importing, which works very well in 11i?
I am quite confused about this. It would be great, if you could help out with this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • To use 11i Tax "AS-IS" in R12

    Hi All,
We are upgrading from 11.5.10 to R12.1.1. Could anybody help me to implement or use 11i Tax "AS-IS" in R12 ? I heard that this could be fixed through setting up a Tax Rule to use 11i Tax as is in R12, but I'm not sure of how to do this.
Your earliest reply is highly Appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ashok

    Hi Helios,
Thanks for the link. I did go through the Article Id long back. I'm looking for a white paper which would tell me step-by-step procedure or telling me which set-up's or configurations should I do to make "AS-IS" work with the Tax in R12. Let me know if you require any other info on this. Thanks for your help once again.

  • R12 Payables Open Interface Tax

    Hi,
I am in the process of designing an invoice interface into Payables for an R12 implementation.
Can anyone tell me what I need to be aware of for eTax in R12?
The file sent by the source system includes a tax amount which is the amount I would like imported on the invoice. However I think we have had problems with this when setting up demo's for workshops. We have had to let Oracle calculate the tax to get an invoice in successfully.
Any information on tax on the interface would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Heath

-> An invoice with Multilple TAX lines having same Regime to Rate
-> you need to pass the tax attributes else it will rejected during import by TAX validation
Check the column line_group_number , which you need to populate

  • R12 - AP Invoice Lines Interface & Tax Codes

We have a slight problem getting AP Invoice Lines through the Payables Open Interface. In 11i the value held in the TAX_CODE column was validated (against AP_TAX_CODES I believe), and if wrong or missing the line was rejected. The eTRM for R12 claims this column is still validated, although against ZX_TAXES_B, however testing shows this to be untrue. Support documentation from Oracle (e.g. note 472649.1) suggest a number of other columns are now used for tax validation, however testing agains shows this to be untrue. The only column we can find which is validated is TAX_CLASSIFICATION_CODE, and if this column contains a valid tax code then the invoice line will be accepted, however we cannot find any documentation which shows that this column should be used.
Has anyone out there bottomed out this issue, and if so is there any insight you could offer?
    Many thanks.
