Taxonomy & Search option set - unwanted results

Hi,
we have configured a search index on a repository :
/documents/Prikbord (this folder has subfolders) :
          /<user.id>/Images
          /<user.id>/Postings
In each 'postings' folder, an XML form item is created that has a property 'Notice Category' (the images have don't have this property!) to indicate whether the item is for our 'notice board' or our 'lost and found' corner. To visualize all postings by all users  to the end users, we have created an index & a query based taxonomy :
Create index 'NoticeBoard'
     Name : Notice Board
     ID : NoticeBoard
     Service : search & classification
Items to be indexed : documents
     Data sources : /root/documents/Prikbord
Taxonomies : LostandFound -> automatic classification     -> query based
Prikbord     -> automatic classification     -> query based
     Permissions : everyone (read)
     Permission Owners : administrators
Next, we created a search options set :
Search Option Set :
          ID : NoticeBoardSearch
Description : Standard UI parameter configuration for Notice Board search
Initial Display of search options : x
          Close options after search x
          Enable Search Options x
          Enable Further Search x
          Default Search Scope : Folder
          Search Index : NoticeBoard
Root folders for search : /taxonomies/NoticeBoard
Enable selection of search method x
          Default Search method : linquistic
          Enable result parameters : x
          Enable Cascading search : x
Enable sorting of search results : x
          default sorting mode : descending
default property for sorting : cm_rnd_rankvalue
          allowed sort properties : cm_contentlength, cm_displayname, cm_modified, cm_modifiedby, cm_rnd_rankvalue
          enable items selection : x
default search language selection : ALL
          additional search properties: Cernum_Notice_Category
          enable predifined properties : x
          Allowed prededfined properties : Cernum_Notice_Category, cm_contentlength, cm_displayname, cm_modified, cm_modifiedby, cm_rnd_rankvalue
The system creates for our taxonomy following structure :
/Taxonomies/NoticeBoard
               /Prikbord
                    /Documents to classify (hidden)
                    /Never to classify (hidden)
... sorted postings are at this level
               /LostandFound
                    /Documents to classify (hidden)
                    /Never to classify (hidden)
... sorted postings are at this level
Question :
We configured a Search iview, using the search options set defined above. However, the images used in the XML forms appear in the search results as separate entries, although they don't have the 'Notice Category type property' assigned.
How can this be? The search options set has /taxonomies/NoticeBoard assigned as the path to start in, the 'documents to classify' and the 'never to classify' folder are invisible.

Hi,
check the images for their metadata.
Select them and view the details.
They might have the attributes to, which causes that htey will be sorted as well.
On the other side, I understand that your search option set is reffering to the index "NoticeBoard" which indexes the content in /root/documents/Prikbord.
This is not the taxonomy folder!
That might be the reason you get all the hits of a search, because they are in that folder of "/root/documents/Prikbord". And if the images are in that folder too, it would be clear why they show up!

Darijo

  • Search Option Set does not exclude Search Indexes

    Hello!
    We are running NW04 SPS15
I've created a Search Option set, and in the "Search Index IDs (CSV)" property I've listed the one index Id I would like to search.
My problem is that when I submit the search, TREX returns documents which are NOT in the list of Index ID's.
    Any suggestions??
    Regards,
    Ove

    Hi HC
The settings you have entered in the search options set needs a place to be stored - a search component. Try creating a search component set with standard_search_input in Component for Basic Search Function and standard_search_scope (storage for the index restriction from the search options set) in Component for Search Options, use it along with the search options set in your search iview, and see if it works.
Try swapping the position of the two search components in the search component set and notice the change in your search results.

Can anyone suggest me if there is any way of customizing the no of rows or else i am thinking of using a KM navigation iview and using the corresponding query but strangely the layout doesnt work.....Anything i need to do more to limit the no of items to be displayed?
Help would be greatly appreciated ,

how about developing your own search?

  • Search option set

Folks, I am able to restrict my search to a folder or index by adding SearchPluginName=caeSearchAll to "KM Search Parameters" property of the tool area iview. But I cannot get the same to work with KM Search iview.
I create a new ivew by selecting the SAP KM Search Iview. I see that there is no "KM Advanced Search" property. I see a property called query. I added to this url with no affect. I added the "caeSearchAll" to the "Search Option set" property to no avail.
    We are on EP6 SP2 P5.
Do any of you out there have similar issues?

    Hi Madhavi
I have tried to achieve some kind of similar functionality, and I couldn't make it work either. In the end my conclusion was that the Search Parameters could not be entered into the KM Search Iview, but perhaps should be entered into the com.sap.km.cm.basicsearch application. But I wasn't able to detect this application in the PCD or anywhere else.
At the same time my experiences with the KM Search Parameters property of the tool area was not so good. When I changed or added Search Parameters, it sometimes worked and sometimes yielded very strange and significant errors. The behavior was so irregular, I had to find another way to use my own SearchResultLayoutSet.
You should bear this in mind and test it thoroughly before you put it into production. I ran SPS11.

  • Importing Search Options Set

I have created a group of Search iViews for  which I have created corresponding Search Options set.
I exported this group from the Development system, when asked, gave a name to the archive file, but when I try to import this downloaded configuration archive into the Quality system, portal gives me invalid configuration archive error message. I haven't changed the name of the archive file.
    Please help.

  • Search iView which opens result in a new Window

    Hi all,
I want to create a KM Search iView which opens the search result in a new window like in the search of the header of the portal! Does anybody know how to do this? I can't find any property in the Search Option Sets or Searchresult Layouts!
    Regards,
    Andreas

    Hi,
       You can try with this:
You can create a new com.sap.km.cm.basicsearch iview from template.
Then, edit it and one of its field is: Layout Set for Search Results, here you can specify your layout.
I mean, you can duplicate SearchResultLayoutSet standard layout set. (system administration->system configuration->km->cm->user interface->setting->layout.
After that, you modify its Resource Renderer. There you can see Target Window Type field (show advanced options), replace blank value by self ( The resource is opened in the same window)

  • Multiple searching options

    hi experts,
i need to create one searching iview but has multiple search options. The purpose is to let the user search for documents using one iView only (we have many types of documents with different metadata). We try to separate the options by tab. Is it possible? We are using SAPNetweaver portal 7.0.
    Thanks,
    Rgds,
    Nanie Arianie

    Hi Shah,
You can achive the above said by creating separate indexes for the folders containing the documents.
    Follow the following steps,
1.Create separate indexes for the KM folders under the following path in Portal,
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Index Management
If you want to group the indexes , you have to specify the group name during creation of the index.
Add the folder as a Data Source to the respective indexes.
2.Create Search Options Set under the following path and mention the indexes or search index group in it.
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Content Management > User Interface >
(Change the mode to advanced) select Search >Search Option Set ,
Select the standard UI Search Option set and click on duplicate button , give a name to the new search option set.
Add the indexes created to index option in Option set.
3.Create Search Component Set under the following path and this can be used in iview properties,
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Content Management > User Interface >
(Change the mode to advanced) select Search > Search Component Set,
Select the standard UISearchComponents and create a duplicate copy of the same and give a custom name to the same.
4.Create iview from application or copy search iview from the standard content. After creating the iview update the properties with the above created option set and component set.
Option set will establish a connectivity between the iview and the created indexes..
Advanced Search UI and results can be customized by customizing the Search component set and Layout sets.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Custom property seach in seach option set

    Hi All,
I have configured search option set. I want to search on the custom properties using search option set. I have tried from the following link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/cc/f4e77ddef1244380b06fee5f8b892a/frameset.htm
If I define a custom property like <property>(/default)
example:  Document_Type(/default) , It works fine.
But I want to restrict the search on one value of custom property.
    Document_Type(value=form/default).
(Document_Type is my property and Form is the value of the property)
But this syntax doesnt give any result. Is there anything else I have to do to achieve this. Is the syntax correct ??
    Helpful answers will be rewarded.
    Cheers!!
    Ashutosh

    Hi Pradeep,
I have already done both of these.
I can not filter on the value of my custom property. if I use myPropertyID(/Default),
it gives me a list of all the documents tagged with this property. But if I use
myProperty(value=value of myProperty [metadata]) ... I dont get any results.
I want to know what is the correct syntax.
I have a property Document type. and this property has metadata forms, guidance, templates etc. Now in search option set, if I use Document_Type(/Default) ... it shows all the documents which are tagged as forms, guidance, templates etc. I want to filter this search on "Templates".
I copied UISearch, and entered my own values... and custom properties are enabled and in the custom properties csv, I am entering Document type ID(value=Templates/default).
I have refered follwing link for the syntax..
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/cc/f4e77ddef1244380b06fee5f8b892a/content.htm
Look at Modifiers in this link. For me this is not working.
Please help me on this, I refered to this link and acepted the development. And now,its not working.

  • Edit standard search options properties on km search iview

    Hello,
i've created a custom km search iview.
For that i've created a custom Search component Set and Search Options Set. I've enabled the Standard Properties on the Search Options Set. Is it possible to edit the layout for the Standard Properties.
    Best regards,
    TomSd

    Hi TomSd,
what do you mean by 'change the layout of the standard properties'?
What you can do is change the properties that are displayed. Have a look at this: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cc/f4e77ddef1244380b06fee5f8b892a/frameset.htm and the description for 'predefined properties'

  • Controlling search options for "Search From Here" command

    Hello
Does anyone know how to control which search options set is used by the "Seach From Here" command, e.g. by parameters?
I don't want to change the portal default.
    Thanks!
    Chris

    Go to:
    Ssytem Admin
    Ssytem Config
    Content Management
      ->User Interface
          ->Commands
            ->UI Commands
Find the command you want  (search here etc):
Edit and put in either:   rndLayoutSet= "XXX" or LayoutSet= "XXX"  in the parameter field if you want to specify a layoutset.
Not too sure how you would achieve this by not changing this configuration TBH.  Create your own command?

i am not sure about the script, why not create crawl rule which will exclude the allitems.aspx from showing in the search results.

  • Customize Advanced Search Options - Permission Set

I'm looking for a way to customize the Advanced Search Options on a per user (or permission set) basis, is there anyway to do that?
Idea here is we have multiple clients accessing our final cut server system and would like to customize their advanced searches to include only their metadata information and not other clients metadata information.

No, there is only one Asset Filter group. I'd like to see differentiation from the Subscription and Search Expired filters and the advanced search, and I placed a bug report to that end. You should do the same. Call it an "Enhancement".
