Tech Support Hell, a very Creative Tech Support H

Didn't think it would happen to me.
Had to reinstall everything on my PC -- twice. After getting everything
loaded on, I went out to the Creative website for my Creative
Soudblaster Audigy sound card, and tried to use their software
autoupdate the drivers. The online autoupdate reported that their
download server was unavailable. So I thought, fine, I'll try again the
next night. Same thing next night, server unavailable. So I waited
until the next night, and same thing again. So I emailed Creative
Support that their autoupdate download server was reporting as
unavailable. And I asked them if they were still supporting the
autoupdate feature for their older products.
They sent me back an email telling me to remove the soundcard drivers
and reinstall them again to see if this fixes the problem.
I replied that reinstalling drivers on my PC to fix a problem with their
website is like draining the gas from my car and then putting it back to
fix a problem with their car. And I also pointed out to them, that by
this time, their manual download servers for North America were no
longer available, and that I had to go to their Ireland download servers
to manually download and update the drivers from my Soundblaster card.
They sent me a reply asking me to detail the steps I went through.
Which I did, clearly pointing out that I went to their United States
servers, which you can only get to through the site "us.creative.com"
Later that day I got a reply in Spanish.
So I emailed them back asking why they are sending me emails in Spanish?
Today I got two replies -- one telling me that my email had gotten
misrouted, which was why it was replied to in Spanish (the person who
received it couldn't tell that it was written only in English? Was
that why they responded only in Spanish?).
The other told me that my problem was that I hadn't gone to
"http://us.creative.com" site, and that was the cause of my problems,
even though I had pointed out that I had gone to Creative's United
States site, and detailed the steps that got me there.
So I emailed them back, repeating the steps I took and pointing out to
them that this does indeed take a person to "http://us.creative.com",
and I asked them what part of my previous email they had not read.
I am wondering what "Creative" response I will get this time.
I also have copies of all the emails in case anyone wants any proof.
S Pearson
P.S. Just as I was ready to post this, I got a response to the last email I sent above. And it is, you guessed it, completely in Spanish. Sigh.
I wonder if Creative is capable of being embarassed by this, because to call this kind of stuff Customer Support is like calling a jock strap and tennis shoes formal evening wear.

Well, my original intention had been just to let them know they had a server that was not responding (and actually had been unresponsi've for two days by the time I emailed them), and to just ask a question.
My question did get answered, and someone finally responded that they had been doing some server maintenance that weekend, and there had been some problems with a few of the download servers that made them unavailable for awhile.
The email address I used is different from what is in my profile. If you really need the email address I used for this, I can give it to you, I just prefer not to put that one in a public forum. I get enough spam in it the way it is.
I realize your tech support people are probably swamped. It would be nice if they would read a little bit farther into the emails before replying, though, and all of this could have been avoided.
And after having done some system administration work in my career, I know from experience that no matter how much monitering software you have on servers, there will still be times when an end-user will be notifying you about a problem with your servers way before any software or hardware will.

  • What's up with Creative tech support???

I sent them an email detailing my problem. I started with the problem that my Zen V plus was in recovery mode and nothing was working (reboot, reset button) went to web site and used the recovery tool located there. Did not change anything, it'sdid not work, tried it again and then got the message on my MP3 that there was a firmware problem. My PC now doesn't regognize the MP3 player. The reply I got back from Creative tech support was try the reboot option from the recovery menu.
What part of - I tried it and it didn't work and now the only thing on the screen is "firmware problem" don't they understand.
Why don't they have a li've chat for tech support. I'm wondering why I bought a Creative lab MP3 player

I did get back to them with exact details of what I did. What I tried per the suggestions on the web site for trouble shooting the problem. They responded back with the EXACT SAME LIST I told them I already tried.
    I was in recovery mode
tried the reboot option - nothing
tried the clean up option - nothing
tried the recovery tool from web site - nothing
tried to reload OS and now the PC doesn't reconize the MP3 player
tried all the options suggeted for getting PC to recognize MP3 player as web site suggests and NOTHING WORKS
explained that to tech support and I get instructions for things I ALREADY TRIED.
Again, why is there no li've chat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • World's WORST Tech Support ? (actual reply from tech support insi

    Hi,
recently I sent a question via email to tech support and I got a reply. I have got bad replies from creative tech support before and also from other so called 'tech support' but this one just crossed all limits!
It is insane. Either the guy is absolute moron or thinks that everybody that he deals with is a moron and will accept whatever he will say.
Does creative have any kind Quality check in their system as to how their support techs are performing ?
Do they even have any clue what they are telling their customers ?
Do they even have any clue what kind of damage they are doing to the brand ?
I also take it as my insult! Who the heck they think they are talking to ?
Someone please read my question and tell me if it was too difficult to understand ? And Please read their response and tell me if my feeble brain is not able to make the connection between the question and the reply!!
Attached below is the REAL and ACTUAL email copied and pasted word for word, including the ticket number!
I think creative just lost another customer for life!

    Hi,
I am sorry about your experience with support and have forwarded this to the respecti've department. The Audigy 2 NX will sample the signal at 96Khz when recording an analog signal at 96Khz from the Line input.
    Hope this answers your query.

  • Creative Driver Support for X-Fi WTF?

Is it just me or is Creative not trying hard enough to enable the features of their X-Fi line-up for Vista? I just saw the March Release for the drivers and yet again like 5 key features still don't work? For me this is irritating since I rely on my desktop audio for my home theater system. Is anyone else just a little ticked at Creative's response to Vista? It's been awhile since I've bought from a company that couldn't give good driver support.....

I'm not sure about other companies so far all my drivers are fine ATi, Asus, hell even logitech just got their G5 Keyboard Driver out, but Creative still thinks it's acceptable to deli'ver a product without proper driver support, let's remember vista has been around for 6 YEARS, though maybe in beta many companies got their Vista drivers out instantly such as ATi, there is no excuse for poor support especially from a Behemoth like Creative, they have the money they have the time, the fact that it hasn't been done is testiment that they don't give a **bleep** about people who truly use their X-Fi cards to their full capabilities. This obviously is not their top priority to support these products, hopefully this poor support will come to their attention as for me if there was an alternati've card I could buy with support I probably will buy it if Creative can't get their act together very soon. Like I said earlier I use my audio card for everything, SPDIF in and out decoding, gaming, xbox 360 nintendo Wii, and the without the few good functions needed that Creative doesn't quite have yet my entertainment center is crippled you dont spend 00's of dollars on a product to not get the support.

  • Is Creative Alchemy Supported on Vista 64 bit? Attention Creative Mod p

    Ok I'm confused.
I've had a creative X-Fi Fatalty card for a couple of years that came with a Mesh pc I bought.
So I buy all the kit for a new pc and think I can just move the card across. I install Vista 64, install service pack and all is peachy apart form my Razer mouse that needs a new driver.
I install a load of old games and they work fine. Some fine tuning for allowing games to run as admin, but considering my new pc is so much faster, and the greater security (i've been told, and call me sad?but i believe it) I'm thinking its worth it.
Wow I think, this vista malaky's great!
Pop in my creative?soundcard?download the drivers and think here we go.
So I install Half life 2. A fairly old game. And it all starts going wrong. I load up the first level and I suddenly only have 2.0 sound.
open up the console and notice all kinda errors (on screen node graph out of date, A. I.disabled, and a load more in the console when i look).
Are they caused by Vista or Creative? I dunno, i didn't load half life prior to installing the card so it could be either to be fair.
So I read up more to try to work it out and I come across a funny thing. If in Creatives download manger pages you tell it you have a creative Fatalty soundcard, and you have a vista 64bit operating system then there are no downloads.
But if you put in Vista 32 bit then you get offered the Alchamey drivers. Which state that they are for 32 and 64 bit versions of Vista.
Now i've been looking at these forums for the last 2 days and I'm begining to feel a little worried. I'm not a sound Guru and I don't understand alot of whats been discussed. I don't feel i'm in a place to pass judgemnt on Creative cos the only contact I've had with their support staff was with a Zen Micro that was out of warrenty and they fixed that for free. Didn't even charge me P&P to send it back!
So I'm really not sure where I stand. I'm about to download the alchemy software that may/may not work with vista 64 by admission of their own website, and can't help but feel that support isn't quite what I was hoping for, and used to. Is the MP3 part of Creative effectivly a seperate company or something?
Now I don't want to start yet another bash creative post.
What I'd really like is a comment from Creative as to why their driver page does/doesn't offer you the right downloads and a solution to my problem.
Call me selfish but I kinda dcame to the Creative Help forums for some, well, Help.
I'd really appreciate if all the pro and anti forum trolls could stay off this topic and give creative a chance to show they can do good support.

JohnZS, thanx very much for the prompt response. I really do appreciate it.
But let me get this straight.
I've had to download a software package from a page I shouldn't have been at.
I have to add values to a software package that I have to rely on good natured people on a forum to supply.
And no offence, but even then I don't have the whole answer. I have to search manually for the registry or game path for the ?.exe? I assume (I'm doing this whilst tring to solve my prob, so I could well be wrong about this) tomake the **bleep** think work.
And this thing is Vista stickered?
Ok still going with the no bandwagon jumping plse people, I'm just an honest guy with no agenda apart from blowing **bleep** up on my poota as a stress release, so I'd like to see from Creative where I'm going wrong here.
Oh I seriously forgot the no swearing policy, and on forums like this I do agree with it, its just its late, i'm a bit annoyed, and to be frank, slightly drunk.

  • Unable to access CC assets and VERY frustrated with support

I just spent a fruitless hour trying to discover why I am unable to access my assets on the Creative Cloud. CC acts as if my membership isn't current, in that I see a folder of mine, but when I click on it, it disappears. After an hour with support I was unceremoniously disconnected and don't have the fortitude right now to start over again. Is there any chance of speaking with a U.S. based support person who speaks intelligible English?

David, thank you for your response. I recognize you as one of the
helpful people on the forum and gather that you are an Adobe employee.
With respect to the problem I wrote about: The following morning
everything was working normally again. During the several days that I
was having the problem, I did try accessing CC via two different
computers and on 2 different browsers, all with the same result. My
impression was that CC was treating me as though I was someone whose
subscription had lapsed. I could see that the folder I had created for
image files was there on my screen, but when I clicked to open it the
folder would disappear. So I'm guessing that CC had incorrectly changed
my status as a subscriber and then somehow this got corrected. In
reviewing the forum issues, I haven't seen anyone complain of exactly
    the same problem.
I would also like to say a word about Adobe support. As a loyal
purchaser and user of multiple Adobe products for the past 15 years, and
also as an Adobe shareholder, I find the current trend in support to be
very disappointing. I have had minimal need for support over the years
but had always had good service until recently. After subscribing to CC
I had occasion to seek help from Business Catalyst support which was
just as frustrating and unhelpful as my attempt to obtain CC support on
8/3. The forum seems to be able to solve some problems but it can't
always happen in a timely manner. I fear that the current status of
Adobe support, if my two recent experiences  are typical, will serve to
    drive customers away from Adobe.
I do thank you for your interest in my problem.
    John

  • HP Flash drive ( v220w ) is not working - HP (Very worst Customer Support)

I am very very tired write this,
    HP (Very worst Customer Support)
    I have brought a HP Flash drive ( v220w )via flipkart.com on 08-March-2012.
Its having 2 years of warranty.
It was working fine till last month.
But after that unfortunately its not working I dont know that why its not working.
Then I find out the service center in chennai,
Maha Electronics at Adyar. They said like this is for only Hp Laptop and they giving one landline number to contact for that pen drive repair.
That lad line number is 044 28555449, And I called that number on 09-August-2013 Morning.
Thay replied that "This is not a HP support".
Again I searched for the HP Service Center and I found another service center
    That address is
    FORTUNE MARKETING PVT LTD
    (HP PEN DRIVE SERVICE CENTRE)
    G.F ABC Trade Centre,No.39/50,Anna salai,Chennai-600002, Landmark:Behind Devi Theater.
    044 42663456.
And I callled this number (044 42663456) on 09-August-2013 Morning.
They asking my pen driver model. I replied that model is v220W.
He simply reply that "We are not repairing that model".
Then I asked that "Can you tell me where I can repair that model"
He just replied that "No Idea!!!" and he cut my call.
I was very scared that kind of activities.
I am asking this question, Please reply
They are not ready to repair that model of pen drive then why they manufacturing and give warranties (2 Years ! ! !).

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums. I'm sorry but this is a peer-to-peer community of HP customers, and not a venue to contact HP directly. Most of the users here are consumers like yourself who are offering solutions because they like to help others, and any HP employees you see are here on their own capacity and not representing the company.
If you have additional or direct feedback for HP about their products or services, or questions about repair, you can use the link below for contact information.

  • Creative "Customer Support" Is A Total Joke

I've had my Zen MX for about 2 months now & have e-mailed customer support 3 times regarding 3 seperate issues. The routine is pretty much the same in every case:
    . I e-mail them with a problem
    2. They scan my e-mail, pick out a couple of key words, & refer me to one or two of the FAQ's.
    3. I respond that I have previously read all the FAQ's and that the ones they referred to had nothing at all to do with my problem.
    4. They respond with "I don't have an answer at this time but your problem will be referred to our "escalation team."
    5. Some one from the "escalation team" suggests that I do the clean-up & reboot procedure.
    6. I respond that I've already done that.
    7. They respond with "you need to update your firmware".
    8. I respond that I've already done that.
    9. They respond with they have no solution for my problem but that it will be referred to the technical people.
    0. I never hear from them again.
I would strongly suggest that Creative fire all the support people and with the money they save, make some improvements to their products such as:
    a) Get rid of that horrible Centrale program and give us one that actually works once in a while.
    b) Fix the firmware so that music (or videos) in the main player integrate with files in the memory card.
    c) Improve the product so that it doesn't die 0 seconds after the warrenty expires.
BTW, the good folks on this board helped me with all 3 of my issues...thanks.

Re: Creative "Customer Support" Is A Total JokeI see they haven't changed at all.
A couple of years ago I had a problem with the headphones connection on my Creative MP3 player due to it having been dropped. I sent off an email requesting the name and address of their nearest service agent to see if it could be repaired. Their reply was to ask what was wrong with it. I told them to which they replied that it was not under warranty any more. I advised them that I was aware of that and was happy to pay for any repairs. Their answer was that it was not under warranty and could not be repaired.
Remember that the original question was for the name and address of a service agent.
From this one can draw one of two conclusions. Either they have no service agents or they are all totally incompetent.
With nothing to loose I oulled the player apart and with a $.50 tube of super glue and 5 minutes of my time it was up and running perfectly. 8 months later it gave up the ghost and was replaced with an Ipod which has performed faultlessly.

    Hello,
I've activated my creative cloud and synced  typekit with my computer but the now the font but they are not displayed right as you know with arabic text.

I have over $5k on apple products...I love all them, but iPad not supporting flash is very frustrating! When apple will address this short come?

Probably never : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Plus Adobe have never managed to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, and they have recently announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, and there is the built-in YouTube app.
