In order to set a PBX and use SKYPE as provider. Could someone give me some answers on SKYPE features. Thanks in advance for your help in aswering
What protocol does SKYPE use UDP or TCP?
Which Keep alive mechanism does SKYPE use SIP OPTIONS or ICMP (ping)???
What codec are supported G729, G711,G723...?
What framing is supported??
Is CLIP supported?
Is CLIR supported?
Is COLP supported?
Is COLR supported?
Does SKYPE support the Digest authentication scheme (MD5).
Does SKYPE support T38??
Does SKYPE support G711 fax ? or G711 with T38 Failover??
Does SKYPE suuport RFC 4733 (RFC 2833 compliant): Payload Type negotiation in outgoing and incoming calls??
What does SKYPE use for “session timer” Re-INVITE or UPDATE?
In calls with HOLD is the codec supported with Re-INVITE messages??
In forwared calls does SKYPE use 302 Moved Temporarily message??
For transferred calls does SKYPE use REFER??
Does Skype use supports the reception of UPDATE messages with SDP?

Yes the Contacts Bar has been updated but why aren't default settings carried over from the Contacts folder.
In the Contacts Folder you can select the default telephone number for Voice Calls, Messages, Email address etc but this information is not copied to a contact when you place them on the Contacts Bar. If you select a contact from the bar you then have to select the mode of contact i.e.. telephone call, message etc. Then you have to select the number you want to contact. Quite a serious niggle to what is overall a greatly improved Contacts Bar.

Does Skype for Business support find me / follow me features?
I recently discovered that if you associate a Business Account with a SIP profile, that account can no longer log in to the Skype App anywhere.
I was looking for the ability to have a call come in to a skype number and ring all devices such as the mobile phone app/desktop app/assigned SIP profile.
This way a business user can pick up calls on there office phone or on their mobile/computer when on the go.

Skype account association to a SIP account should have not effect on your ability to log in to a Skype app. What happens now if you try to sign in to Skype with that account?

Is there a Hold feature in Skype?

We can allocate up to 10 numbers using Skype according to their FAQ's. If I will allocate 10 numbers to my skype account, will I have 10 skype ID's and passwords? Also, is there a hold button? For example, if someone called in on the 1st number, can I put him/her on hold and answer the 2nd skype number?

Transferring Calls- Why Skype Removed It

After using Skype for 5 years for my business, I finally have to let Skype go. I do not understand the underlying reason for Skype to remove the best feature of Skype for Business. Call transfer was the must have feature for us. Why was it removed? Please bring it back

They obviously are not interested in the business user!
We are moving off Skype to a hosted PBX service.

HOW CAN WE GET SKYPE TO ALLOW RECEIVED SMS?

hey yall friends, moderators, and hopefully someone from the actual skype company.
what is the deal? why are we not able to receive sms texts (except from people with smartphones who can do mobile to landline text to voice features)?
can we somehow come to a compromise, a creative solution. it is just stupid to be able to send sms messages but not receive them. people even send them back and they go nowhere, thinking they communicated but we never receive anything.
if we have bought an online number and a subscription doesnt it make sense we should be able to receive text? that was one of the first features of skype original.
what is the blockage that is stopping this easy feature from being included? is it that phone companies charge the recipient company (skype) for texting? and skype doesnt know how to deal with that, or want to? i think even if you charged us .11 cents to receive, we would all do that. you could even make an SMS subscription to pay for costs.
if skype is going to continue to grow as a company and as a useful feature. this is the next step. i hope we all understand and appriciate that.
again, 1 way SMS is just non-functional and barely-useful. communication is a two way street. please let us make something happening.

That is also my request. I'm using TextPlus on my Android phone to send and receive free SMS messages. (Yes, it gave me a free phone number.) However, I would rather just use Skype with an online number to send and receive SMS messages. And SMS needs to be free. With Skype's other paid services, free SMS should be possible.

Well, a few weeks ago I received an email in a gmail account with which I am apparently having problems as a very suggestive account when making a false registration process.
Well, it has happened that someone has been given to use that email address for a check in skype. This would pose no problem, if it was not possible to start using the program and use this same community UNCONFIRMED ACCOUNT minimum with the mailing address.
Well, I tried to pull the thread from e "welcome to skype" which was the only thing that came to my mind and I managed to reset the account password of skype lndividuo that used my account erroneously mail and began use skype account without confirmation, then I could start using it with the new password, have access to all user data and contacts that had accumulated so far, and even personal information of the person who made check with my account, as the number to call.
In summary:
1. A person "A" creates a skype account with an email address that does not belong and create false and he believes does not exist.
2. That address exists and belongs to another person "B".
3. But to start using the skype account and no confirmation of this community is requested by mail and therefore "A" can begin without the actual owner ("B") validate the welcome email to skype.
conclusions:
1. This causes discomfort to "B" in this case, that someone is using my email address as a contact in skype without confirmation.
2. Generates serious security problems for the person "A" which allows you to check your account with unconfirmed email address.
I think it's a PATHETIC that such a software and application with the features of skype, so widespread in use, and also has built-in possibility of contracting services PAYMENT with calls to landline and voip services, has a security flaw as big as this one.
It is unforgivable. Know if this is due to the merger with Microsoft or already comes from above, but in any case I think it is IMPERATIVE that developers will keep an eye on this issue immediately.
Microsoft is wearing this with every move it makes. Look back usability hotmail / outlook. That is unfortunate too.
What goes well. Greetings to all those suckers out there who have not yet used your mail immediately to record skype account. What to check their emails, lest someone is using your email address without knowing it.

You are describing the way Skype accounts are set up since the beginning of Skype: No email verification is necessary. That's why we recommend new users to create their Skype accouns using Microsoft account instead which has all these security features.

Skype Click to call interferes with ClipBoard

I have found the strange behavior that as soon as Click to call has recognized a phone number (be it in IE or FF) on a webpage, it disables functionality of the clipboard: when trying to copy/paste within an MS Office program, only the text is copied and all the formatting info or the original formula in Excel is not copied anymore.
For that reason I had to disable and remove Skype CtC (I have version 5.10.0.9560). Problem is solved now, but nice feature of Skype is gone.

Me too! I thought it was a Google Chrome problem. I even rebuilt my laptop over it and spent a whole day on the phone with Geeksquad! I just uninstalled Click-to-call and now the problem is gone.
This is a really big deal, people use copy/paste all the time and expect the formatting to work. I'm telling everybody to uninstall click-to-call and/or don't install it in the first place. I hope somebody gets serious and fixes it. And, Skype will have to acknowledge the problem and tell me it is fixed before I will give click-to-call another shot.
Not trying to be a jerk - that is just the truth of it.

How do you send a link to a photo via skype?

I see people sending me links to images using skype, and I want to know how you do that. It is much more convient than just sending an attachment due to the long waiting time. It usually looks like:

and it goes on. How do you do this?

Skype to go Oman

Can you set up skype to go from the middle East i.e Oman. It does not seem to give you the option to do so from this Country. Is this correct or am i looking in the wrong place.

What can I say? Yet another inconvenient feature that Skype has purposely added I think? No no Skype. No need to send over a representative to apologize for the inconvenience. I am fully aware that you are highly unappologetic about the horrible features that you force upon your customers.
Every time I have a legit complaint about Skype I think it's a mistake only to find out it's INTENTIONAL.
I basically had to uninstall skype from my phone because it keeps booting itself up after I blatantly turned it off. And as a result when a call crashes on my desktop or my laptop the call is redirected to my mobile and uses up an HUGE amount of data on my phone and after it cost me more money because it forced my data to roll over the limit on my plan the only option was clearly to remove it entirely.
Oh skype don't worry you also don't have to apologize for forcing people to update. Because clearly forcing people to do calls in high quality was the answer as people with old computers clearly don't need skype anyways right? My sister just switched to another messanger because you seem to think that with each update it's best to make skype a heavier and heavier CPU MAMMOTH. Yep effeciency is clearly not your goal. Not even giving people the option to lower the call quality to make it easier for older or slower computers isn't needed either! Nope! Also my Samsung Galaxy S3 couldn't even RUN skype without crashing not even just the instant messanger. That phone came out 2 years ago? You know I guess if you can't have the newest and best technology you obviously don't deserve to talk to your family in another country? Because you're not rolling in the doe right? It's obvious which demographics you're aiming for! You clearly don't want poor people using your software!
It seems like with each update you just make your technology more obnoxious.

Okay, let me see if I understand this correctly. You are pressing the sleep/wake button to put the phone to sleep, and instead it is powering off? When you tap on the home button, the phone will not wake up?
Are you just tapping the button or holding it down for a period? You can try a reset, hold the sleep/wake and home button together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

Prevent skype resolving?

Hi, I have recently had a problem with a few people being able to get their hands on a nee "Skype resolved" which allows them to bypass the (only connect calls in contacts) and are currently able to get my External IP address. Now I would love to keep using Skype, but if this continues to be an issue with my IP security I will have no other choice... I have the website they use to resolve the Skype name if that is any help, but I will not publically post it here as I don't want it to get spread around.
Any way back on the point if this topic, I was wondering if there are any ways to COMPLETELY prevent someone from resolving your Skype name and being able to get your External IP address... And if there is how would I go about doing such?
ANY help would be amazing as I will continue to get hit off if this issue is not resolved. Thanks to any one who can help.

This is really easy to do, go to settings and search for this change.
If you don't use your computer your status will change to "Away" and etc. You must disable this feature on Skype settings.
I love Skype, I just decided to help people.

Skype Group Video: Free for everyone or not?

I've been paying for Skype Premium for 2 years now for group video chat. Now I read EVERYWHERE including Skype's website that says Skype Group Video chat is now free. So I chat with a Skype customer service guy to find out why I was charged for Skype Premium and why I even need it anymore. He tells me Group Video is NOT free for everyone and that it's coming in the near future. I asked him why the FRONT PAGE of Skype.com says it's free and all he says it that it's not free.
Anyone know what the deal is?

The Skype Premium subscription you have includes an unlimited calling option to a country of your choice. This should get upgraded to an "Unlimited World" subscription allowing you to call 60+ countries while keeping the same subscription price. This upgrade hasn't seem to have happened yet for your account though.

Add Skype to Business Card Option

From the last one, the MSI code 1625 should mean "This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator" ... this seemed odd to me, as I'm the admin. So I decided to manually run: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Temp\Low\MSI\SkypeToolbars.msi
This reported that it couldn't perform the install as there was a version already installed.
Sure enough, in "Programs and Features" was "Skype Click to Call. Version: 5.10.9560"
For some reason, the V6 installer couldn't update it... but never reported the correct reason
So I uninstalled the previous version and then ran the MSI again ... this time it requested the Chrome be closed (it was, but Chrome has a few background processes) ... it should know how to stop them. I killed the processes and then the install ran smoothly.
As my Google searches didn't explain this error or how to fix it, I thought I'd post it here.

Another little oddity ... Skype was 6.0.126 (20MB), while Click2Call is 6.5.11422 (31M)
So I thought I'd do a Check for Updates ... this told me I had the latest version. But, being the sceptic that I am, I downloaded the full installer and now have 6.1.129
Obviously someone needs to work on their update code ...
Maybe someone can pass these points onto appropriate people at Skype/Microsoft?
