Telnet read problem -- Telnet read back

I am trying to use telnet to send TL1 command to my UUT and expect to read back measurement data. I was able to read proper data once in a while but most of the time I read back the TL1 command that I sent. I tried different read mode and timeout period but nothing seem to matter. My vi was written in Labview 8.2.1 with Internet toolkit. I read in the forum about some limitation of the telnet read problem of the vi from the internet toolkit, Is there any better read driver around?

Hey! I have a few questions for you that should help us solve this problem. First, have you tried out the telnet shipping example "Telnet Line Client.vi". This will help us minimize programming errors, etc. Also, what type of device are you trying to communicate with? Are there other forms of communication available? For example, does the device also have a serial port, GPIB Port, etc.? Also, is it possible to write to the device using TCP/IP (This is what telnet is based on)? Let me know the answers to these questions and I will be better equipped to help you out!!

Data reading problem with Read LVM

Hi
I am acquiring the pressure signals with 6 channels using LabView 7.1. The sampling rate is set at 10kHz. I am saving the data using Write LVM. For post-processing of the data I am using Read LVM function to replay the data. When I saved the data and reopened it using Read LVM, the waveform was different as compared to when I was acquring the data. Both images are shown in online_data.bmp and image_by_read_lvm.bmp. The Read LVM vi has also been attached. The write LVM file size was around 15MB.
I think the problem is with the rate at which read lvm is reading the data.
Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

T 420s cooling air coming out is very hot, finger print reader problem

I am living in ruwais, abudhabi.i bought T 420s in last June from LENOVO authorized distributor. Model number is 4174-KK4 and the sr no ***.
Sometime the cooling air coming out is very hot, unable to keep the laptop on the lap.
The cooling fan also replaced still the temperature is high.
After replacing the fan I noticed that I noticed one of the screws was not fixed, I asked them to fix it, then they fixed it.
I traveled back to my home 240 KM from the authorized distributor service center. when I started the laptop, the fingerprint reader was not working . Then I traveled back 240 KM to the authorized distributor service center to fix the issue. They fixed the fingerprint reader problem.
Then now the SD card reader is not working. I was asked to bring the laptop to the authorized distributor service centre.
Can any one experience the same type of problems with T 420s the cooling air coming out is very hot, finger print reader problem, card reader not working?
The authorized distributor says for the service they can only cover 50 KM form the authorized distributor service center to the customer point, what is the conditions for the On site warranty ?. I am living 240 KM away from the authorized distributor service center from whom I bought the laptop.

Well clearly after the first incident. You need to check and us it verifying everything is working before leaving the service center or town its in. Go to a coffee shop and spend time using it and test each option is working.
When the notebook its opened the finger print reader, card reader etc may not be connect properly or connectors not snap fully and disconnect. Mouse ultranav I have heard may also. But clearly you assume too much and you need to spend the time testing its working before leaving.
These service center are only paid a fixed amount so they won't spend anymore time then they have to and address one problem you brought it in for.
As for heat out put and over heating. There are many threads on these systems you can find and read about.
Advice:
- install Core Temp, this will monitor and display on the task bar you CPU core temp and you can see CPU load & Temperature at a glance if it approaching or staying near the max levels which will kill the CPU and/or motherboard due to cooking it. Its free just be sure to deselect any additional software from installing during the process. I use it on my notebooks. If the system is running high core Temp all the time you need to have it resolved or it will die and most likely out of warranty and/or your data will be lost if you don't have a backup as well. http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
- use a laptop cooler. Its a flat pad you sit the laptop on you lap or table with usually two cooling fans that plug into the USB port for power. It will help cool the base of the laptop and other components inside will not be as hot. This will do nothing for the CPU temperature though.

Adobe Reader, Telnet Hyperlink Problem

Hi, I met a telnet Hyperlink Problem in Adobe Reader.
When click the Hyperlink (like telnet://a.b.c.d), Adobe reader gives me a Alert:
Acrobat does not allow connection to: telnet://a.b.c.d
And I also need to open this telnet hyperlink in web browser with Adobe reader plugin.
Would you please give me some help?

Acrobat and Adobe Reader recently closed off access to custom protocols. Telnet is a standard protocol, but I can't see Adobe leaving it working.

Problems getting Reader (9.4 and up) to interact with WSDL, rights-enabled or not

Somehow I must be doing something wrong - My form works just fine in Designer,
Preview, Acrobat Pro, etc as expected. When I open the form in Reader, I am not gett

Thats your issue .....Acrobat does not add the right to enabe Web Services
in Reader. That can only be done via LiveCycle Reader Extensions.

Here's a quick overview of exceptions:
The base class for all exceptions is Throwable. Java provides Exception and Error that extend Throwable. RuntimeException (and many others) extend Exception.
RuntimeException and its descendants, and Error and its descendants, are called unchecked exceptions. Everything else is a checked exception.
If your method, or any method it calls, can throw a checked exception, then your method must either catch that exception, or declare that your method throws that exception. This way, when I call your method, I know at compile time what can possibly go wrong and I can decide whether to handle it or just bubble it up to my caller. Catching a given exception also catches all that exception's descendants. Declaring that you throw a given exception means that you might throw that exception or any of its descendants.
Unchecked exceptions (RuntimeException, Error, and their descendants) are not subject to those restrictions. Any method can throw any unchecked exception at any time without declaring it. This is because unchecked exceptions are either the sign of a coding error (RuntimeException), which is totally preventable and should be fixed rather than handled by the code that encounters it, or a problem in the VM, which in general can not be predicted or handled.
So you have to either catch that exception, or announce to any caller (via the throws clause in the method declaration) that your method can throw that exception.

Outlook 2013 - Read emails keep switching back to Unread

I have this weird problem with 2013 Outlook client and Exchange 2010 where on random some of read emails will switch back to unread state. Its very annoying specially when you have executives sending you emails and you can't tell if this is a new one or
one that you read and took action on.
Company's desktop support folks say that there is nothing wrong with my exchange account. I told them it has to be my account/maillbox or some setting on exchange as this is happening on two different machines. One is a windows 7 pro laptop, the other one
is windows 7 pro desktop. both 64bit version of windows but 32bit version of outlook/msoffice 2013.
I only installed outlook on the desktop to see if my outlook on laptop was the culprit. but since both clients are behaving the same way.. it has to be something on the exchange side.

The issue could occur if the sync between the Outlook client and OWA is not completed or the Outlook data file in the Outlook client is corrupted, every time when syncing to OWA, it will change the status back to “Unread”. To narrow down the issue, please
try the steps below:
Disconnect all the clients connected to the account except OWA.
Make the message as read in OWA, then check if the status will be changed back.
If not, open Outlook, then check if the status will be synced to Outlook.
If the status changes to unread again in OWA, it could be related to Outlook.
In addition, you can also try to re-create outlook profile and check if any helps.

Problem while reading data from Serial Port

Hi All,
I am facing some problem while reading data from Serial Port.
As per the requirement I am writing the data on Serial Port and waiting for response of that data.
Notification for data availabilty is checked with method public void serialEvent(SerialPortEvent event) of javax.comm.SerialPortEventListener.
When we are writing data on the port one thread i.e. "main" thread is generated and when data availability event occures another thread "Win32SerialPort Notification thread" is generated. This creates problem for me as we can't control thread processing.
So can anybody pls explain me how to overcome this problem?

My Problem is:-
I am simoultaneouly wrting data on port & reading data from port.
First I write data on port using outputStream.write() method. Now when target side sends me response back for the request on serial port DATA_AVAILABLE of SerialPortEventListner event occured,we are reading data from serial port.Now till the time we didn't get the response from target next command can't be written on the serial port. When we are writing data on port main thread is executed.Now my problem starts when DATA_AVAILABLE event occured.At this point another thread is created.Due to this my program writes data of next command without reading response of previous command.To solve this prob. I have used wait() & notify() methods as follows.But again due to this my pc hangs after execution of 2 commands. (PC hang in while loop in a code provided below.)
From SOPs I could figure it out that after 2 commands we are not able to write data on serial port so DATA_AVAILABLE event doesn't occure n pro. goes in wait state.
Can anybody help me to solve this issue.

Mail reader problems

Mail window does not scroll -- so I cannot read material below the bottom of the first page.
Mailbox items do not scroll either. If I am reading a 2012 e-mail I cannot scroll back up to the most recent e-mail.

LousyFool in another response nailed it. Go to Systems Preferences --> Scroll Bar Always. It works.
(I haven't had to show scroll bars before, but this fixes my problem.)

Card Reader problem with MSI K8T Neo

Hi,
I have the K8T Neo motherboard, and every once and a while my Atech Flash 9 in 1 card reader (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-176-003&depa=0) doesn't power up, thus I can't use it.
What's odd is that all my other USB devices work flawlessly.
The only way I'm able to use the card reader again is to power down my computer and then flip the power switch on the psu, then turn it back on, or unplug the reader from the usb header on the motherboard and plug it back in.
I've noticed other people have had similar issues...
Any ideas what causes this, or any ideas on how to fix this?

Yes, I had the same hanging problems as well with older BIOS versions then 1.7.
But that isn't the problem I'm talking about, the computer always starts up, it's just a matter if the usb reader will work or not.
Maybe MSI has yet to make a BIOS that is compatible with all card readers.

Problem with READ Statement in the field routine of the Transformation

read statement is working well when i was checked in the debugging mode, it's not working properly for the bulk load in the background. below are the steps i have implemented in my requirement.
1. I selected the record from the lookuo DSO into one internal table for all entried in source_packeage.
2.i have read same internal table in the field routine for each source_package entry and i am setting the flag for that field .
Code in the start routine

I am having a printing problem with reader xi when i try to print a pdf file?

i am having a problem printing on either of my printers with pdf e-mail attachments.
the printer hangs up until i go to device manager to stop it and then it ptints.
sometimes i get an error message "an internal error occured".
i have reinstalled the software and also tried to repair in control panel with no luck.
can anyone point me in the right dirrection to fix this?

After a great deal of confusion, I got to the right page in the help files. What I have to do to print PDF's, for I have no clue what reason, is on this page, under the "windows only" section.

The basic is: right click on the non-printing document, select document properties, then advanced; if "protected mode" is "on", then..... click "edit" on the document, "preferences", and turn off the "enable protected mode" icon at the top of the mega-list that appears, click ok, close Reader, then reopen Reader and the pdf document, and miraculously, the "Print" icon at the top of the page will allow printing!

Problem While reading a file in text mode from Unix in ECC 5.0

I am working on Unicode Upgrade project of ECC5.0.
Here i got a problem with reading a file format which it does successfully in 4.6 and not in ECC5.0
My file format was as follows:

It was successfully converting corresponding field values in 4.6:

While i am getting some problem in ECC5.0 during conversion of the above line:

it was consider in the same # values.
I have used the following statement to open and read dataset.
OPEN DATASET i_dsn IN LEGACY TEXT MODE FOR INPUT.
READ DATASET i_dsn INTO pos_rec.

You might be facing this problem because of uni code. So while opening or reading the file, there is a statement call ENCODING. Use that option and keep the code page which you want. Then the problem may be solved.
