Terrible service at best in Nepa

Not sure what to do i moved to Hallstead Pa 10 years ago and have had terrible service. I have at least 9 trouble tickets from technical support and the promise to improve service, and to date is still as bad as when I first moved here. I just the spent the better park of 2 hours on the phone looking to be reimbursed for dropped calls as I have done in the past with no luck. Customer service rep. Beverly told me I should go to ATT as they have better service. I think my wife and I will be taking her advice. I retired from Verizon with over 30 years 10 years ago my wife Diane also was an employee with 34 years, My Dad had 47 years and my brother Dave had 36 years. I come from a long line of phone people and it embarrass me to see how far down the totum pole customer service has fallen to what a shame the people who built this company are probably rolling over in their graves.

someone asked me if I had checked the trouble tickets on another  post that was removed by Verizon. Yes I actually just got off the phone and verizon's answer is a network extender which will take care of my service in my house but not on the far end of my property or when I drive down the street hence mobile phone. All I was looking for was credit for my dropped calls I know service is terrible. But as a retired employee I never thought I'd see the day when i would be pushed away by Verizon to go to another provider so I think it's time I take the tec and service reps suggestion and disconnect my service.i

  • NEED BETTER THAN SUB-SERVICE AT BEST BUY..HELLO CEO

The problem was....I went to the Boynton Beach store to buy an xbox.  Manager looked it up and said we do no have any.  He said if you drive to the other store 40 miles away, you can pick one up there; they have 30 xboxes there !  I asked the manager if he can have someone bring me one up tomorrow.  Manager said,  I can ask the other store to send one but it will take a week to get here.   No great service at Best Buy, I thought i was at Walmart again with sub-service and a no care from the main people who should go beyond that sub standard service and stand-out for BEST BUY !   I hope the CEO gets this and wakes up and gets away from his desk duties and change the lack of sub service and stops this way of thinking !      Tks.......SUB_SERVICE

    Hi there rvgbb,
I'm sure you were quite excited to visit our Boynton Beach, FL to purchase an Xbox! I can imagine that you were greatly dismayed to find so many units an hour's drive away, but none at your local store. Generally speaking, in such a scenario you would have the option to visit the store with availability or place an order and wait for one to arrive at the location most convenient for you.
I am truly sorry that you felt the options presented to you to be unreasonable and an example of subpar service. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and will be sure that it is noted to be used to improve our methods in the future. If you should have any questions, please let me know.

We live in a rural area and are still not offered anything better, so we have used dial up internet for several years. Quality has always been just fine, getting connections of 28.8-40k or higher, which is perfectly normal for dial up. However lately we have seen a rapid decline in the quality and speed of connections. While still useable, it has been annoying. This last month however I can only rarely connect at a speed higher than 9.6kbps. Sometimes it is even lower at 7.2k or even 4.8k. I know verizon is only obligated to provide high enough speeds for phone calls, but these low speeds are simply unacceptable for dial up internet use. Many programs wont even connect at all at speeds lower than 14.4k. Atm my dial up account that i'm paying monthly for is basically not useable at all.
How can I actually get verizon to do something about this. I don't want to be given the runaround by someone over the phone telling me they don't have to give use any higher speed connections. This is a complaint about suddenly dropping use to such terrible service compared to what we used to have for several years. Shouldn't this be addressed so that I can actually use my dial up account without so many problems?
I feel like our line has somehow been limited to only connect at these low speeds. Is something like that possible? How can we get verizon to stop doing that and actually connect our calls at decent speeds? I just want a return to the good service we used to receive if they aren't going to bring dsl/fios out here.
Did you try calling oyur ISP to see if it's something on their end?  I know when I was on dial up years ago I had to change to a different number once in my area as something was wrong with the one I had always used to dial into AOL, maybe that's it.  Mary

  • NEVER GET YOUR CELL SERVICE FROM BEST BUY

Never again will I get my cell service through Best Buy, here's why.
In Nov of 2012 I decided to change my cell service to AT&T. I went to the ATT store and to Best Buy in South Nashua, NH to investigate the price plans and cost of the phone. I was going to buy a Samsung Galaxy S3, (top phone at the time) everthing was exactly the same at the two stores except for one thing, the insurance. The insurance from BB had unlimited claims, a lower price and no deductible. The sales agent from BB noted the process worked as follows "You bring your phone in, we ship it out to be fixed and give you a loaner phone. The loaner phone will not necessarily be a S3 but one that is equal to it." This is what other friends of mine had told me too, and that was the reason I went to check out Best Buy. Since everything was equal I decided to go with Best Buy ONLY BECAUSE OF THE INSURANCE OFFERED.
Now, March of 2014 I have a problem with my phone and it needs to go in for repair. I'm still under contract with Best Buy. I wait in line for at least an hour (did you know that you need to call ahead to make an appointment? I do now.), I tell the customer service guy my problem and he prepares the phone to be shipped out. Then he brings out the loaner. It's a Pantech P7040, a ghetto version of a black berry from 5 years ago. Not an Android phone, not a smart phone, not anywhere even close to what my Galaxy S3 is. I made note of this fact to the gentleman and he said it was the best they had for loaners. I then informed him that I USE my phone for work. Numerous apps in there that I really use EVERY day at work. I travel and my phone's apps are super important. We had some discussion about this situation that I would now be in and how the salesman informed me that I would be given a comparable loaner if I ever need to bring my phone in when they were selling me the service plan. This guy told me they used to do that but don't do that any more. I said that this does not weigh very favorably with my choices of whom to use to when renewing my contract. He told me that he didn't care. It's not his rules.
I realize that you don't make the rules you only follow them but still, the salesman told me (and apparently many other people are complaining about this at BB) that I would get a "comparable loaner" to my phone. The customer service guy said that they stopped that policy back in November or December of last year. I told him that I realize policies change to maintain efficiency but I bought a specific service and they need to honor what they sold me. You can't sell a service and then not give the customer what you sold them because you no longer like that policy, you can change the policy with the new contracts you sell if you want. He told me "If you read the entire contract, it doesn't say it anywhere in there that they will give you a loaner phone." Ya that's fine, but the salesman told me they would, that's an oral contract and is binding in a court of law. He then told me that they didn't have to give me a phone at all. (That didn't help this situation) I then informed him that if I had come in here and was told that I would not have a phone for a week "I would #$@% explode!", "Considering the fact that I was told I would get a comparable loaner, and then told that I wouldn't get any". I also asked that since I was traveling when my phone broke, could I call ahead to the store to have them order a replacement that I can pick up when I come home. "No, we have to see the phone first and send it out."
My repaired phone or possibly a replacement might be available by Wednesday. However, I leave for work again on Tuesday so I'm without my smartphone and stuck with this ghetto junker for over a week until I get back. This is not the service that I was sold and this is not the service that I was expecting. This wasn't one rogue salesman lying to customers to get sales, it was the company's policy to inform customers that they would get a comparable loaner phone. BB is liable to honor their oral contract with their customers. I would like my money back for the the service contract. I will NOT be back to BB to renew my cellular service. My intentions are to inform others that Best Buy salesmen will tell you what you want to hear in order to make a sale.

    Hello,
I was quite disheartened to read about your experience in seeking repairs for your Galaxy S3. It sounds like your visit was less than ideal with the long wait and a store representative who was less than sympathetic. We strive to provide superior service and I very much regret that we didn't live up to that goa, or to your expectations of us.
The loaner cell phone program and Geek Squad Protection (GSP) are separate things. Any of our customers were permitted to take advantage of a loaner phone if they needed one even if they did not purchase GSP. While some stores still have phones that can be provided as loaners, you were informed correctly that the program was discontinued last year. If you wish, you may obtain a prorated refund for GSP by visiting a Best Buy store with your original GSP purchase receipt.
I'm disappointed to read that this experience may influence your future shopping destination. It is my hope that you will one day give Best Buy another chance to win you over. Please know that I'm grateful that you wrote to us about this.
    Sincerely,

  • Any suggestions about which global service is best while traveling to Jamaica

Traveling to Montego Bay would like to know which global service works best in Jamaica

        Hi forrestnotatree,
Jamaica sounds great! I hope your time is wonderful there. Thanks to the community for providing some information for you. I'd like to clarify the details and the rates for use of your service while in Jamaica.
SydneyK is correct; your phone will work while in Jamaica. The dialing pattern to call back to the US is 1 Area Code 7-digit number. The pattern to dial locally in Jamaica is 876 7-digit number. Below are the rates.
    -Voice calls $1.99 per minute
-Text messages $0.50 to send and $0.05 to receive
-Picture messages are billed according to your messaging plan (so, if you have unlimited messaging, picture/video messages are unlimited in Jamaica)
-Global Data $25.00 for each 100 MBs used
Please know that these rates are for Jamaica, and vary per country. Please refer to http://www.verizonwireless.com/international for information on rates for other countries.
Thanks and have a safe trip!

  • Terrible service for the past few months, trouble ...

    Hi all,
I'm hoping I may be able to get more help here.
For the past few months my phone line has been incredibly crackily and faint, my broadband (not with BT) has also been cutting out for long periods of time making it almost impossible to use.
About 2 months ago an engineer came out and supposedly fixed the fault (I'm not even sure if there was one to fix) only a day later it was back to being crackily and faint.
I called up numerous times and did online fault checks, and nothing came of it, they said there were no faults!
During the past few months I noticed that when the weather is bad (wind, rain, wind and rain, frost) my phoneline is terrible and my broadband connection is non existent. I kept note of this and yup, everytime the weather is bad, so is my broadband+phoneline. It's completely fine when it's dry and calm out.
I contacted BT again (multiple times because the service is terrible) and they said there isn't a fault with my line and that I should call my ISP.
Today I called again because the phoneline was terrible as is the weather, they called my mobile to do a linecheck on the landline, then 2minutes later they put the phone down on me and never called back. I had waited over 30minutes just to get through..
It seems like I'm never going to get this fixed as it's almost impossible to deal with BT on the other end of the phone, and I can't do a fault test online because my internet is dead during the times it is bad..
I also reported that the wire connecting from my house to the telegraph pole is all loose and looks unravled, but they obviously didn't think it was a problem because they wouldn't send anyone out for it.
    What am I to do?

I called 151 and reported the fault, they found nothing wrong. As it's intermittent they are going to run a 24hr line test and then get back to me (though he said he'd call in the morning to let me know if an engineer needs to come out.. 24hrs?) fingers crossed the weather is absolutely abysmal tonight!
@HHGTTG If it eventually gets fixed, I'll probably always be waiting to let out a sigh when I see that the weather is bad. Haunted! I hope you're in the clear now.
@surfer157 Perfect, I just bought my nephew a land telescope for his birthday, now i'm going to scope out the wires if nothing comes of the 24hr line test!
My wire is all loose and looks like it has come unravled at the telegraph pole compared to the others that look like they are pulled tightly, so I'm pretty confident it's a similar, if not the same problem you had with a corroded wire. Not confident about getting it fixed anytime soon though...

  • My image is too large for the print service. Best options...

I shoot with a Nikon D800. It appears the images are too large for the print service. What's the best method to reduce file size? Open in Photoshop, edit size, and return to Aperture?

You would have to look in your TV settings, that is likely the issue.

  • How to create Service Monitor - best Way

    I have a task at hand :
Creating monitor to alert when a service is stopped.
    We are using SCOM 2012
I checked and found various ways to do so http://www.bictt.com/blogs/bictt.php/2011/03/16/scom-monitoring-a-service-part1
My requirement is : there are like 100 such services on 100 different windows computers that i need to monitor.
The services are not common , so 2 computers have the same service , Maybe some service that i need to be monitored be on 2 computers but overall every service is unique.
    What is my best option:
1.Create a basic unit monitor and target to Windows computer class ? Create is as disabled ? Override for just the machine that has it.
Will it clutter my Windows Server class health explorer . (How bad is that as per performance)
2.Create a Service monitor using Windows Service templates
Do i have to create 100 target groups , as i have to Target the monitor to specific computer only
Since template service monitor create discoveries , targets etc on its own  (Am i going to clutter SCOM with a lot of those) 100
3.Do i create a attribute for each service , so as to extend the windows base class to discover the computer that has specific service (Using registry)
too much work is it and how good of an option is this.
4.MP Authoring ,Create new class discovery based on WMI / Registry to find computer and then target the monitor
What would you do in such a case.

An example is the windows service monitoring from the Windows Management Packs. Microsoft does not discover any of these services. The MPs discover the Windows 2003  \ 2008 \ 2012 Operating System Class and the basic service monitors are targetted at
this class. This means it is relatively light weight monitoring (less overhead on the agent and less discovery information in the databases) but it does mean that you can't add any of these services to a distributed application or report on their availability.
You don't report on individual monitors but on objects which may have many monitors targetted at them.

If you want to actually report on the availability of this windows service (or add it to a Distributed Application) then you do need to discover it - either via the Authoring Template or authoring your own discoveries.
Only you can decide what you need and you might have a different need for each service depending on what it is doing.
Jonathan Almquist has a good walk through here about how to change service monitoring to allow for consecutive occurrences of a service being unavailable but it is deep authoring.

  • SQL 2012 service accounts best practice

I'm installing SQL Server 2012 for ConfigMgr 2012 r2 and I wonder what is the best practice for SQL service accounts.
During the installation of SQL Server, in the server configuration/Service accounts menu I'm allowed to configure following service accounts: SQL Server Agent, SQL Server Agent Database Engine, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Browser.
Do I have to create separate domain user (not admin) accounts for each service and configure service principal name (SPN) for all of them?
For example: Domain user account named SQLSA for SQL Server Agent, another domain user account
SQLADBE for SQL Server Agent Database Engine etc.

During the installation of SQL Server 2012, the user is prompted to provide service account
credentials. The default service accounts suggested vary depending on whether SQL Server
2012 is installed on a computer running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 or on a computer
running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. On computers running Windows Vista
or Windows Server 2008 operating systems, the following default service accounts are used:
    - NETWORK SERVICE Database Engine, SQL Server Agent, Analysis Services,
Integration Services, Reporting Services, SQL Server Distributed Replay Controller,
    SQL Server Distributed Replay Client
    - LOCAL SERVICE SQL Server Browser, FD Launcher (Full-Text Search)
    - LOCAL SYSTEM SQL Server VSS Writer
On computers running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems, the following
    default accounts are used:
    - Virtual Account or Managed Service Account Database Engine, SQL Server Agent,
Analysis Services, Integration Services, Replication Services, SQL Server Distributed
Replay Controller, SQL Server Distributed Replay Client, FD Launcher (Full-Text Search)
    - LOCAL SERVICE SQL Server Browser
    - LOCAL SYSTEM SQL Server VSS Writer
For Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, you can use a Managed Service Account
(MSA) or a Managed Local Account. The differences between these account types are as
    follows:
    - Managed Service Account (MSA) This special kind of domain account managed
by a domain controller is assigned to a single member computer and used for running
services. The MSA password is managed by the domain controller. MSAs can register
a Service Principal Name (SPN) with Active Directory. MSAs use a $ name suffix; for
example, CONTOSO\SQL-A-MSA$. You must create the MSA prior to running SQL
Server Setup if you want to use an MSA with SQL Server services.
    - Virtual Accounts or Managed Local Accounts These virtual accounts can access
the network in a domain environment and are used by default for service accounts
during SQL Server 2012 setup when run on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
Such accounts use the NT SERVICE\<SERVICENAME>format. You don’t need to specify
a password when using virtual accounts with SQL Server 2012 because this is handled
    automatically by the operating system.
You should run SQL Server services, using the minimum possible user rights, and use an
MSA or virtual account when possible. If you are manually configuring service accounts, use
separate accounts for different SQL Server services. If it is necessary to change the properties
of service accounts used for SQL Server 2012, use SQL Server tools such as SQL Server
Configuration Manager. This ensures that all necessary dependencies are
updated, which does not happen if you use only the Services console.
Although you can configure domain accounts as service accounts, this strategy requires
more effort because you must ensure that service account passwords are changed regularly.
You must also manage SPNs, which are required for Kerberos authentication.
    Best regads

  • Services-config best practices for ADEP

I need to establish a services-config.xml to connect to LCDS from my ADEP project.  Are there any best practices I should be aware of with respect to ADEP / LCDS interaction in this regard?
    Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike. You can use the CRXDE Lite editor to modify the services-config.xml file for a Data Services application deployed to the Experience Server.
When you are in CRXDE Lite, navigate to:
    /etc/aep/config/dataservices/services-config.xml
Open the services-config.xml, make your changes, and click the Save All button.
After that, when you create a new "Flex for ADEP Experience Services" project in Flash Builder, the channelset-config information will be copied from the services-config.xml file into a channelset-config.xml file that gets added to the dataservices directory of your Flex project and is also added to the mxmlc compiler options for your project.

  • AD Sites and Services and Best Practices

    Hey All,
I am new to OES, but not new to AD. I am in an environment in which DSfW was recently setup to support VDI testing.
I notice that there is no configuration under AD Sites and Services. We have multiple sites, with DCs setup at each site. The consequence of not having Sites and Services configured is that machines/users in site "A" are logging in through site "B" domain controllers. Obviously, this is not ideal nor best practice. Secondly, this leads me to wonder how the domain controllers are replicating since I do not see NTDS entries in Sites and Service MMC for the domain controllers, yet I do see that AD data is replicating by comparing databases (simply adding a new user on one DC I see it added on the secondary DCs). So I know it's replicating, but apparantly not using AD schema?
One other question I have about DSfW is regarding the migration from a mixed environment to a full AD environment. We are deploying AD primarily due to VDI initiatives, and currently only testing this. Looking further down the road for planning purposes I have to wonder if it's possible to stand up a 2008 R2 server, join it to the domain, dc promo it, FSMO transfer, then decommossion the DSfW systems. This would leave us with purely Windows DC environment for authentication. Is this something some people have done before? Is it a recommended best path for migrating? Cause I also see others creating a second AD environment, then building the trusts between DSfW's domain and the "new" domain (assuming these are not in the same forrest). That would be less than ideal.
Thanks in advance for any responses...

Excellent! I feel sane now :) I can live with this, as long as it's expected/normal.
It sounds like you need sites and services, but once that's in DSfW,
why migrate from DSfW to MAD if DSfW works for your VDI initiative?
You are correct. I am simply planning and making sure all the options are in play here.
I would rather not get too deeply reliant on DSfW if it will make any future possible migration more difficult. Otherwise, DSfW is extremely convenient....I am impressed actually.
I also believe there may be a way we can control the DC used for specific "contexts" (or OUs as Microsoft calls them). So if I have a group of users in a particular OU that reside at a particular branch I think I should be able to set their preferred domain controller....and if so, that means sites & services becomes nearly irrelevent. I would be ineterested to talk to people who are using DSfW with multiple sites in play.

  • Terrible service-Please help

Hi, I live in {edited for privacy} Hackensack, nj, 07601 for the last two years and have fios connection. am moving to {edited for privacy} edison, nj on 1st October 2014. So I called up verizon to move my service. In the new area only high speed internet and phone was available and fios was not available. So I asked them to change my service accordingly. Now lo and behold when I got the email confirmation the date was changed to 1st September 2014 and my current connection from Hackensack was showing to be disconnected on 30th august 2014. I called up verizon immediately on seeing the email and asked the date to be shifted to 30th sep and 1st oct. They confirmed over phone they changed it. But when 30th august came they disconnected mine FIOs service. I called up verizon and was there for 3 hrs over phone. Finally one lady offered me to reconnect my service at Hackensack and said that they will waive off my activation charge. As if they were doing a favor. Then she told that they will again do a credit check. So I have a current connection, I am a current verizon customer the call center person messed me up and now they are saying they will do a credit check!!!!!!
I am sick and tired of being kept on hold on a verizon customer service. So don't want to waste my phone mins. I am going to disconnect my edison service of verizon and also going to BBB for the terrible inconvinience caused.

These forums are the worst service from otn. It seems Oracle technology its not enought to handle 24/7 service to this forums!!!! Lots of 404, lots of missing images, lots of erros acessing forums!!!! It st**ks!

    Hi Nikolay,
    Thanks for confirming.
But this time it's really really annoying, why would one put so much effort in upgrading the forums, and ending up even worse, without any fricking feedback to the users and posting none whatsoever update regarding status? It's like those big birds from Australia, who keep bury their head in sand...
I cannot understand why bugs that were fixed months ago are reoccurring all of a sudden, unless someone made a bummer/restored a wrong backup/has connections with Indian callgirls and so on...

  • Terrible terrible service

I have never received such poor service from a company before! The list of errors is too long to list but include a direct debit (unauthorised) of £1200 out of our business account.Sending bills to different addresses..6 no shows from bt engineers to set up our voip system and the cutting off of our phone lines on 3 separate occasions.... wish I never signed up with them in the first place! BT is an absolute joke and has cost my business serious money...the only reason im on this forum is that i suddenly find myself without a phone line ..my connection to my customers....
