Hi All,
I have created a workflow with following steps, create,edit,approve asset.
Can any one tell me how to test my workflow ?
Admin guide says "configure start menu items that assign workflow processes to assets"

Hi,
Yes, you can create a startmenu item and configure it to use your workflow. That way, when you create a new asset using that startmenu item, the asset will be assigned to your workflow.
You can also simply select an asset that's not in workflow yet, and assign it to workflow. You do that by going to the Status screen, then in the workflow drop-down menu select the option to assign the asset to workflow.
Use Finish My Assignment to move the asset to the next workflow step.

Is there a way to get the asset's current step for a specific workflow process by the WebCenter Sites API? We are showing out the asset created within the WebCenter Sites in another application via its API. Here is some information from the FDK Programmer's guide page 115:
IMPORTANT: A valid text range can span multiple paragraphs, subcolumns, or text frames.
It cant span multiple flows, footnotes, table cells, or text lines.
It is possible for a document to have no text selection or insertion point at all. This can occur in
the following circumstances:
● One or more graphic objects in the document are selected
● One or more entire table cells in the document are selected
● There is no selection of any type in the document
So, I did select one or more entire table cells in the document in my first test. It's logical that the result was not like expected.
But selecting one or more entire table cells is a crucial requirement for my plugin, is there anyway to get things straight?
Simply put, I want to enable users to select one or more table cells in the document, and I want to get the object handles of the first cell and the last cell through Framemaker API calls. How?

How can I test a Worflow process

Hi, I am using the workflow builder to create my process diagram. The diagram design was succesfully validated. Then I tested
the process using the web page wfa , I found the process, specified all requiered values and when I reviewed the Process List,
I obtained an error. I do not how test my diagram. The diagram is very simple, only want to send a notification to one person
for approval. How can I specify an specific mail address to send a message ?
Please somebody help me (sorry for my English) !!!!

I filled all data about the performer at Notification properties, I selected Item Attributes and selected ForwardToUserName as variable
When I tested the process using the launch procesess Web Page I selected an username from the existing list
(usernames of the data base). It works!. I could see the workflow process activities, and I also reviewed the notification list and the
notification was sent.
How can I specify an specific e-mail address to send the notification? ? Must the users to be defined as database users or
can I send the messages to any user' adress?

Creating a thumbnail within a workflow process

Hi,
Within my workflow process, I want to create thumbnail images of the files/documents that have been uploaded in a page through the out of the box 'Download' component. I want to store these thumbnails on the same page(within /content/mypage). As far as I know, the logic of thumbnail creation of an uploaded files is already available in the DAM. On further probing, I got to know that the thumbnail creation is done as part of a workflow and the workflow process is 'CreateThumbnailProcess'(com.day.cq.dam.core.process.CreateThumbnailProcess). So I tried creating an instance of the CreateThumbnailProcess and calling the execute() method of this process within my workflow process. Here's a glimpse of what I did.

Ok.
So couple of things which you can try out to check what's causing the issue.
1. If you comment
     //proc.execute(item, session, args);
does it still causing the same issue. If yes, then problem would be somewhere in your workflow call or process execution which calling this process recurring (i can assume as not see the whole code) and, if not, then this call is only causing the issue which is pretty wierd (looking into possibility and will update you) if you do not have extended the same process as you mentioned above.
2. Not sure calling another process like this is correct way to do it because CreateThumbnailProcess automatically gets called in cq when image object created in system to create default renditions.
To answer you other question.
creating extra thumbnail apart from default renditions you should have to create workflow process as you already did but extend AbstractAssetWorkflowProcess (dont call CreateThumbnailProcess.execute() because there is default workflow process already setup.) and below code in execute method
Asset asset = getAssetFromPayload(workItem, workflowSession.getSession());
oriIs = asset.getOriginal().adaptTo(Node.class)
                            .getProperty(JcrConstants.JCR_CONTENT + "/" + JcrConstants.JCR_DATA).getBinary().getStream();

PO workflow process raises event but subscription does not fire

Hi:
We are sending POs electronically in XML (11.5.10.2). The PO reaches the supplier correctly. The workflow process to send the PO to the supplier completes successfully. The workflow diagrammer shows that the process fully completes. The last task in the standard process raises an event called oracle.apps.po.event.xmlposent. By default this event has no subscriptions, but I created a subscription that will call a custom workflow process. In testing, I can manually raise this event, and my custom process works. But when the full process runs and completes my custom process does not run. Again, according to the workflow diagrammer, the event in question gets raised. I find no evidence of the event in question in an queue. Why would the process complete, including the step to raise the event in question, but I find no trace of it.
Can anyone suggest additional debugging steps or a solution?

Workflow Process Implementation not found

one of the workaround is by adding -XX:-UseSplitVerifier option to the JVM .This issue seems to be an with CQ 5.6 and java 7

Email PO Workflow Process - Send Notification to Web Supplier???

Hello,
We're on 11.5.8. I'm looking at the Email PO workflow process in POAPPRV. Can someone tell me the difference between the 'Does user want document e-mailed?'/'Email PO' functionality in the process and the 'Send notification to web supplier?'/'Notify Web Supplier' functionality. I want to customise the email to the supplier but am confused as to which half of this process requires customisation.

I don't know if it's a standard feature of PO release workflows.
You could set up a test workflow with a SENDTASKDESCRIPTION step and see if it includes a link to the object instance.

Executed and failed alternatively while testing a bpel process

I have created a bpel process such that the response from the bpel is posted to a Queue.
I have deployed the bpel and esb process successfully.
While testing the bpel process,it is completely executed for the first time.(no error in esb and bpel console)
While testing for the second time,it is failed(bpel is completely executed but in esb console i am getting error)
I dont know what is the problem.
The error message in esb console is:

I could see the userID/password is wrong in the adapter,
you can chnage that one by following:
em/-->
Cluster topology-->home 0c4j - >Applications ->stand alone Resource adapter (in View of the Drop down combo)
choose the adapter ->JMS Adapter ->connection factories -->eis/Jms/QueueConnectionFactory-change the password to your password(SOA)
and try the same....

Dump error while Testing the Workflow

It seems someone might have deleted the corresponding RFC destination (which is created automatically). Check in SM59.

Currently Data Maintenance teams use standard SAP transaction XD07 to change Customer Account Groups. The standard transaction XD07 allows only one Customer Account Group to be changed at a time. The process is to be manually repeated for every customer. After the Account Group is changes in the request client (X07(10)), an RFC call is made to the BOR client (X07(20)) and then to the transaction client (X08(10)) to change the Customer Account Group as the SAP ALE process does not support Account Group Changesu2026
1.3     To-Be Business Process
From time to time, bulk customer data updates will be needed. This can be the result of business situations that cause multiple updates to be performed for given customer fields such as Customer Account Group field. A new program must be developed to let the user mass update the Customer Account Group field (KNA1-KTOKD). The Program should be accessed on demand using a new T.Code (YMDM_ACCTGRP_CHG).
Business users will submit a spreadsheet in the appropriate upload format to CDM along with written approval from the Food Service data owner to execute the upload in P07. CDM will execute the upload, record all documentation for the audit change log and notify the submitter when complete

Interrupt workflow process in process controlled workflow

Hello experts,
In a custom requirement, we need to interrupt the workflow process.
For example, if we have 4 levels of approval. After the 2nd approver has approved the shopping cart, then the workflow process should be kept on hold. Based on a custom interface result, if the condition from another interface is satisfied, then the shopping cart should appear in 3rd approver's UWL.
I tried with triggering interrupt method of class /SAPSRM/cl_wf_apv_facade in save BADI of shopping cart. But it did not work.
Please let me know how can i interrupt the workflow process till some custom condition is satisfied.

Quite often this kind of requirements can be fulfilled by using wait steps in the workflow. One example could be that you put a "wait for event" step in your workflow template. Then you could trigger this event from your interface (or whatever) with function module SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT.
Maybe I should ask that how do you know that the condition has been fulfilled? Is it a field in a certain table, or? If yes, instead of the "wait for event" step, you could also wait that your condition is fulfilled (a field in your table gets value X). Just take a look into the workflow template and its step types. Wait step is the way to go.
Of course it might be possible that in the SRM/shopping cart workflows, there is already something built-in, which can be then utilized by using some of the BADIs, but if you cannot find anything from the documentation, then choose one of the above-mentioned approaches.

Using Javascript to email a form in a workflow process

I've created an Acroform which will be routed around in a workflow process. The user will open the form, add information and hit a button which is coded in javascript usng the mailDoc function.
It works perfectly EXCEPT that each time the document is forwarded, "Adobe Acrobat Pro.pdf" gets appended to the name of the file in the email. It doesn't actually rename the file, so the file does open properly, but the email looks pretty goofy.
Example. The filename is Form14.pdf.
When the third person signs off and clicks the email button, the email is created, with the address, subject line and body of the email completed, and the document attached has the little icon and then
- Form 14.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro.pdf
Is there some way to prevent it from concatenating like this every time the document is emailed?

FTP error in oracle workflow process

Hi All,
I have written a workflow process which deletes a file on FTP. The process is deleting the file but is showing a warning message. Does anybody have a idea regarding this. One more thing even if file is not found the process completion status is successful. Its status should be error.
The ftp site is on the same machine as owb server.
The following values have been passed
Command: ftp
Parameter List: /-A/localhost/
Success Threshold: 0
Script: delete filename
Output Message Received:

I am not saying your method is not correct, but if you give a shot to go with User Defined Activity. Yep that's correct , just write line in a shell script and call that script in user defined activity.
Property values
command ksh
script     pathname with that script file name (/tst/usr/script/filename.ksh)
or
command     mv
parameter_list     pathname with that filename
I feel this is very simple and easy to manage too.

Adding a record in a table from a workflow process

Hi all,
I need to add a recod in a table using a workflow. Here the scenario:
A user add a record into table A, when done MDM trigger the workflow in Visio. The workflow has to add a record in table B coping some values of table A.

I am really doubt that MDM has the feature of adding a record to an table thru workflow process, rather workflow process can be triggered as you said while creating a record.

Own workflow process step (java) not listed in the generic Process step component

Based on the description Extending Workflow Funtionality I have used this sample to create a bundle with the CRXDE Development Environment. Almost just copying the code from the page (had to make some adjustments to correct program errors in this sample) an then build bundle. According to Note 2 this program should be seen in the list supplied by Process step Component when editing a workflow. But it is not there.

Ulrich,
CRXDE does not support the Java annotations which are listed in the documentations. When you want to leverage CRXDE (which is for development ... discouraged), you need to migrate to JavaDoc style annotations.
For documentation how you can setup a development workflow based on a Java IDE and maven please see [0].
