Testing SOAP/ XML in ABAP  Proxy!

Hi Experts,
In an interview I was asked a question on abap proxy.
In a scenerio where data from file gets into R/3 ztable through abap proxy, when data has already left XI and about to enter r/3, there is some SOAP XML format , and data can be tested/ debugged at this point. I was not sure about the exact point, but surely not the payload in SXMB_MONI.
Can any1 tell me more about this part of Abap proxy testing. The interviewer said, this is popular testing of abap proxy scenerio .  I am also sure, I am not asking for how to debug Abap coding in the method endmethod part in SPROXY .
Can any1 help!
Regards,
Arnab.

Hi Arnab,

  • Get XML in Abap Proxy

    Hi XI experts,
Probably a simple question for you guys. I have created an inbound invoice abap proxy in which I have to perform several checks before executing a simple FM. The checks with fields of the INPUT parameter are no problem at all but when check is successfull I have to copy the incoming XML (tag-structure) to the application server. But I don't know where to get my incoming XML ? It's been mapped and pushed to my method EXECUTE_ASYNCHRONOUS INPUT parameter in a generated abap structure that does not have the same fields/tags as the XML...
Basically, what I need is something to just copy the original XML to the application server (in my Abap Proxy).
    Thanks for your help !
    Kind regards,
    Christof.

    Hi Christof,
attachments are handled only at adapter level, not at mapping.
You could create the attachment at sender adapter side and it would be sent to the receiver proxy, but the attachment would be the original input message and not the mapped one.
If you don't have mapping or if you don't care whether the saved message is the original or the mapped one, go for it.
    Best regards,
    Henrique.

  • Anonymizer Bean is not working XML file -- ABAP Proxy scenario.

    Hi Experts,
Can anybody please help, How can add   this line <ns0:ROOT xmlns:ns0="urn:XXX:snc:productactivedata"> to my input xml file?
</ns0:ROOT> to the end of the input xml file. One more thing please, how to remove "standalone="yes" " from this line <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
I have tried with Anonymizer bean settings, I can't able to achieve this, with XSLT mapping could, but I don't know XSLT mapping, can any one help me in this?
    Many Thanks

  • Consume web service in ABAP proxy with SOAP header

    Hi Thomas ,
I am trying to consume web service in  ABAP . I have followed the procedure from one of your web blog <a href="/people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/11/17/bsp-a-developers-journal-part-xiv--consuming-webservices-with-abap a Developer's Journal Part XIV - Consuming WebServices with ABAP</a> . I need to pass SOAP header along with SOAP body. As you mentioned I have used if_wsprotocol_ws_header interface to pass header but it is still failing.
Please see below code and please give some direction to fix the issue.
1.Create ABAP proxy for WSDL (http://ws.strikeiron.com/SwanandMokashi/StockQuotes?WSDL). It has created structures only for SOAP body.

  • Consume WSDL in ABAP proxy : Issue with name space

    Hi,
I was trying to consume a WSDL in ABAP and I have created ABAP proxy using wizard in SE80 and also did the LPCONFIG.
While calling the proxy methods it is throughing the "authrization failed" error because of the following issue.I have successfully executed same WSDL from some third party tools with out error.only difference I have observed in SOAP request is, Third party tools passing all name spaces at envelope level but in ABAP proxy it is not passing all name spaces at envelope level.
    1. SOAP genarated from WSDL in  third party tool.

      </soap-env:Body>
    </soap-env:Envelope>
I was trying to use the SOAP genarated in ABAP proxy in thrid party tool and end up with same "authrization failed " error. If I move the name space  <b>nr1</b> from <<u>nr1:GetKMContent xmlns:nr1="http://schemas.xxxxx.com "></u>  <b>GetKMContent</b> node to <b>soap-env:Envelope</b> <soap-env:Envelope xmlns:soap-env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:nr1="http://schemas.xxxxx.com "> then it is working fine.
Question :Is there any way in ABAP proxy to pass name space at soap-env:Envelope level or is there any way to change the SOAP request once it is genarated from ABAP Proxy?. Is there any API to change SOAP information?
    Thanks,

    Hi Kavitha,
I am also facing the same issue.
Could you please share the solution if you have solved this.
    Thanks,
    Arun

  • I want to test sender ABAP proxy in AAE by SOAP client

    To PI Specialists
Now I plan to test sender ABAP proxy in AAE by SOAP client system.
(we use aae so we set sender abap proxy by sender soap adapter.)
ABAP creating team and PI creating team are in other site.We cant contact easily.
I want to separate ABAP Unit test and PI Unit test, plan to use soap client for test driver.
    (we use SOAPUI. )
    the url is http://<host>:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=party:service:channel
I noticed that sender soap adapter is started, but the messeage protocol is invalid.
we use messege of wsdl. it must be XI3.0 protocol.
    Please tell me XI3.0 protocol.
    Naoki

This is possible to do in SOAPUI.  I am testing this scenario using AAE, but I am also using SOAP UI Pro.  The procedure is pretty basic.  Instead of sending your payload in as part of the body, you have to send it in as an attachment.  You will also need to set the header correctly.  Here is a sample message from my SOAP UI tests that may help. The only thing you need to do differently is load the attachment, name it, and make sure that the name of the attachment is reflected in the SAP:Payload attribute.  Also, I am using a Groovy script to create a GUID.

  • SOAP error in synchronous scenario for ABAP Proxy with Oracle D/B

    Dear Experts,
I am working in Sender ABAP Proxy <====>SAP PI 7.31 JAVA only <====> Oracle Database. My proxy configuration are working successfully.
Apart from that, I have maintained a SOAP sender communication channel under the ECC business system with
    Transport Protocol as HTTP
    Message Protocol as XI 3.0
    Adapter Engine as Central Engine
When I am testing from ECC at Tx SPROXY, I am receiving following error.

    2. No Response message is shown in ECC when testing the message.
    3. How do Receiver JDBC adapter for Oracle Database is configured
    4. What would be Message Protocol for Oracle Database i.e. XML SQL Format or Native SQL format for Select operation.
Please guide.. All your inputs will be appreciated......
    Regards
    Rebecca

    Dear Indrajit,
Appreciate your inputs.. Yes I have configured all the ABAP proxy configurations and there no question of missing any thing as Tx SLDCHECK in ECC is working perfectly fine.
But still to go, some of the queries needs more input.
1.In ID, i have created a Sender SOAP communication channel with listed details.
    Transport Protocol as HTTP
    Message Protocol as XI 3.0
    Adapter Engine as Central Engine
Is there any parameters which I may be missing from Module tab of Synchronous SOAP Cc ?
    2. In the Cc monitoring, the JDBC receiver status shows "Database operation successfully completed" but I could not find any response data from database. The Message monitoring should have 2 messages for 1 trigger, but I could find only 1 message by SOAP only?
Sorry to bother experts...Please answer in sequence...
    Regards
    Rebecca

  • SOAP--PI--ABAP Proxy-how to call this scenarion from third-party PeopleSoft

    My scenario is:
Third-party Peoplesoft sending an Asynchronous XML message to PI through SOAP Adapter which will then be processed by ABAP proxy server.
I have everything in place (SDL,IR,ID & ABAP Proxy). I have created a SOAP tool that uses URL (http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=party:service:channel) and XML message to test the process - it works.
Now the problem is the Peoplefoft system guys need help to figure out how do they reach our system and this process.
per my understanding, I created a WSDL using ID>Tools>Define Web Service option and sent it to them hoping they will be able to use this WSDL to program their call to our system.
I also additionally sent them the SOAP client tool that i use to test the process that has default XML payload in it.
The only change i made in WSDL before sending to third-party is - replaced location tag from the actual URL that reaches sender SOAP adapter to the external URL that will be used by PeopleSOft system reach our network. I think our network guys are going to map this external url to internal URL.
Is there anything else i can do as a PI consultant to help Peoplesoft reach our network and hit the SOAP Adapter (SOAP sender adapter channel for my process).
    I will Appreciate any ideas.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh

As a PI developer, ur only task is to provide the correct wsdl to the Peoplesoft guys. As u have changed the URL, there is nothing else to be done at ur end.
The SOAP Client user just have to use the wsdl and fill in the data. Before the communication, please make sure that there are no firewall restrictions.
    Regards,
    Prateek

  • ABAP Proxy Client how to get the XML

    Hi all,
I have created a Proxy Client by SE80 using the WSDL file, I no have any middleware as PI etc.
Testing it I'm facing with an error occurred on the server side. So the developers asked me to send them the full XML message with whom I call the service.
From se80 I can see only the body of the request I guess.
So I'm tring to understend where I can get the whole XML.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Pasquale.

    I'm not an ABAP programmer.
If I have to test a webservice, provided by sap system or other system, I always use soapui from www.soapui.org
    In soapui
    * create new soap project
    * point to wsdl file
This will automatically create a sample xml request message for the webservice.
You can edit the request message and put in the values you want.
If required, fill user credentials into the request properties.
    Then send the request message.
You will get the xml response message.
If the service works fine with soapui, then the problem is at your side (abap proxy, apap code behind the proxy).
If you can reproduce the error with soapui, then the problem is at the side of the service provider.
I don't have permission for SPROXY at our sap backends. Perhaps there is a "test interface" function, which shows the xml messages.

  • SAP PI 7.4 SOAP - ABAP Proxy Synchronous Webservice

    Hi Everyone,
I am developing the following scenario:
3rd party makes a SOAP call to SAP (via PI) to determine whether a vendor exists or not in the SAP system. The link for the call is provided by us from the Integrated Configuration.
The request comes in, calls an ABAP Proxy to check if a vendor exists and sends a response back to the SOAP call with a 'Y' or an 'N'.
I've read a lot about various scenarios but I'm having trouble connecting the dots as I'm fairly new to PI. I'd appreciate any help.
I've made the following set-up based on assuming I need separate Service Interfaces for the SOAP Request & Proxy Response
    ESR
    1. Message Types
         SOAP (MT_SOAP_REQ & MT_SOAP_RESP) - PROXY (MT_PRXY_REQ & MT_PRXY_REQ)
    2.  Message Mappings
         MM_REQUEST    which maps MT_SOAP_REQ   to  MT_PRXY_REQ)
         MM_RESPONSE which maps MT_PRXY_RESP   to MT_SOAP_RESP)
    3. Service Interfaces (Synchronous)
        (SOAP Request)
        SI_IN (Inbound Interface)       with Request = MT_SOAP_REQ and Response = MT_SOAP_RESP
       (Proxy Response)
        SI_OUT (Outbound Interface) with Request = MT_PRXY_REQ and Response  = MT_PRXY_RESP
    4. Operation Mapping
        OM_LOOKUP which maps SI_IN to SI_OUT with Request    (MT_SOAP_REQ  to MT_PRXY_REQ)
                                                                        and  Response (MT_SOAP_RESP to MT_PRXY_RESP)
I create the ABAP Proxies for each Service Interface. SI_IN contains the required coded method to check if there is a vendor.
I create the webservice and binding for SI_IN in SOAMANAGER
At this point I'm somewhat unsure - what do I need to do for SI_OUT ? Do I need to create a logical port ? how is SI_OUT associated to SI_IN (apart from the Operation)  to get the response.
    ID
In the Integration Directory I've created a SOAP_SENDER communication channel for System A and SOAP_RECEIVER channel for SAP.  For the SOAP Receiver I need to specify a URL - what should this be ? Is it meant to point to the web service for SI_IN in SICF or just to the generic http://host:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Do I need to use the HTTP_AAE adapter for the receiver instead of SOAP ?
I created an Integrated Configuration for the SI_IN Service Interface with comm channel SOAP_SENDER from System A and SOAP_RECEIVER for SAP backend.  I then got the WSDL for this to provide to the 3rd Party to test (via SOAP UI)  . Again my concern is how is the SI_IN linked to the SI_OUT to achieve the response ?
I appreciate you taking the time to go through this .  Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks very much
    Gary

  • ABAP proxy exception to SOAP fault and vice versa not getting mapped

    Hi there,
I have these scenario's: ABAP proxy to SOAP (AXIS framework) and the other way around, synchronous, using AAE.
When declaring the Synchronous Service interfaces we also defined error message types in order to pass system and application exceptions back to the service consumers.
    The behavior we are observing is as follows;
When an exception is generated on the ABAP proxy, the error message type is correct generated and filled with the corresponding values in the ABAP proxy runtime. However, when the response arrives at the service consumer, it only contains a SOAP fault filled with some kind of generic PI mapping exception information.
    1. Why is the original ABAP proxy exception not mapped/passed into the SOAP response?
    2. What can we do in order to change that situation?
    3. Does it has to do with the use of the AAE - Advanced Adapter Engine or the AXIS framework?
PS: We have performed a test of the Operation Mapping - OM using the ABAP exception as input and it did work correctly, so the error structure seems to be Ok.
    Many thanks for your replies.

Problem was caused by some differences in namespaces between source and target.

  • Error in synchronous( abap proxy to soap)scenario

    Hi experts,
My scenario is synchronous abap proxy to sysnchronous soap. for proxy I am using business system name as ERDCLNT220 and soap business system name as BS_HRS_DEV
    configuration steps are
    1. only client proxy to soap scenario I have done.
communication channels: only receiver soap adapter. no proxy sender communication channel for client proxy.
Already we have RFC destination connection and connection type H for proxy to xi.
1.Is it required RFC destination connection for xi to server proxy.
2.Is it required receiver proxy communication channel for server proxy?.
i HAVE TESTED THIS INTERFACE. I am able to send the request. But I am not able to receive the response from soap webservice message .
    error is:
SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: Exception occurred while trying to invoke service method getPerson
exception caught with cause com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: Exception occurred while trying to invoke service method getPerson
Error Adapter Framework caught exception: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: Exception occurred while trying to invoke service method getPerson
Error Delivering the message to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: Exception occurred while trying to invoke service method getPerson. Setting message to status failed.
    Kindly help me.

Your exception message shows problem at the webservice side.
    Check the following:
    a) you need two mappings one for proxy req to soap request and other soap response to proxy response
    b) You need to create service interfaces both sender and receiver synchronous .
    c) communication channel  QOS is best effort for both sender and receiver
    d) I dont see problem in soap configuration. Bcuz you are able to ping and while getting response from the method getPerson it fails.
    f) See your SOAP response structure matches with WSDL provided.
    g) You can also test outside PI.. I meant testing via soap client tool like SOAPUI  for that web service. So that you know whether problem exists on the target system or not.
    Hope that helps.

  • "SOAP:Fault" in scenario with ABAP proxy client

    Hello,
    I realized the scenario CRM40_Basis620(ABAP proxy client)->XI->File.
    XI:
The sender communication channel is a XI adapter (Parameters: HTTP 1.0, XI 3.0, Integration Server, Security profile unchecked, Security level - HTTP).
    CRM:
    The proxy generation is ok.
    SLDCHECK is ok.
    All RFC destinations are ok.
APPINT_200_620 for CRM was installed and configured well (I think so, but...).
When I ran the ABAP proxy client on CRM, sxmb_moni(CRM) returned the text for the XML Message (Display-CallIntegrationServer-Payloads-TraceDocument):

    Hi Roman
There is no need for an XI adapter for client proxy.... we only use that for server proxies.
