Text field overprints when printed - properties look OK - Help

I am having a problem with a text field in a form I created using Acrobat X Pro on a PC running Windows 7 Ultimate.
Document was originally created in MSWord 2007 and then converted to the form using the Form Wizard. I have the font selected as helvetica auto-size, but problem exists even if I change font size to 10 or 12. Everything in the text properties looks OK.
The form looks fine on screen, but when I go to print it the text either does not use the full field length and appears to be all scrunched up with letters on top of each other as though there is no kerning space between the letters.
First screen shot is of screen view. It looks fine. Second screen shot is what is looks like printed. Note, this is not a problem with my HP printer, as it happens even when I print to PDF.

Expanding Text Fields, only when printed

All,
I have a dynamic form that has many text fields for user input. These fields have a fixed height, however allow multiple lines beyond the visible area. I don't want these text fields to expand when the field is exited, but rather when the form is printed. The form is set up neatly on 7 pages, and I'd like it continue to be 7 when the user is working, however I'd like it to expand to accomodate the extra text upon printing.
How can I make it so when I print, the fields expand and the data flows onto the next page(s)?

Thank you. I'll also have to make sure the subforms are set to "flowed" to make sure the expansion works appropriately, correct?
I can get everything to work correctly until my last page. When flowing the subform it compresses all of my fields and won't let me resize or move. Is there any easy way to resize a subform or adjust the locations of the fields within it?

Is there a way to link text fields, so when you reach the end of one line it moves to the next?

I often use Acrobat Pro to create forms, whether it be from an existing document or from scratch, and this has always irritated me. I know you can create a text field and select the Multi-line option; however, this is not what I am looking to do. I have a form that has a Yes or No Radio Button, then below it says "If yes, please explain:" followed by 3 lines to respond. When I run it through the Form Creator, it places three text fields on the response lines - as it should. The first line is shorter because of the text, which is why I cannot use the Multi-line option. So is there a way to link these three text fields, so that when I reach the end of the first line it stops and automatically moves to the next?

These types of lines are a left-over from printed forms. There's no reason
to keep using them if your form is digital.
The best approach is to combine the fields to a single multiline field, and
get rid of the first line. Trying to link text fields together is very
tricky. I haven't yet to see it done properly.

Multiple lines in text field will not print

I have created several text fields in a form that was created to be filled in and then printed. The text fields allow for multiple lines but when they are printed they only print the text that has been displayed. Is there any way to get Adobe to print all of the text in the field? Thanks! Teri

I am also having trouble with this. I am using LiveCycle Designer that came packaged with Adobe Pro. I have a form that has several one-line text fileds and checkboxes at the top and then the last field is a text field for comments. I need this text box to expand to a second page, if necessary. I am VERY new at this and I find the help features with the applicaiton hard to understand. I have the field set to "expand to fit" and I have checked the "allow multiple lines" and saved as dynamic form. It allows me to type as much as I want but it doesn't print. Just displays a + sign at the bottom. I looked at the sample purchase order form and that didn't help me. Can someone give me simple clear instruction on what to do?

Get rId of Form Field boxes when printing

Hey Guys,
I created a Fillable PDF Form with Form fields using ADOBE Acrobat 9.0 Pro-Ex + LiveCycle Designer for Windows XP.
My question is, when printing the form, the form field "text boxes" always show up. Is there a way to hide the boxes and just print the form without them. (The information that was filled in will still show, just the outline of the boxes won't?)
My other question is when you create a form, is there a way to make form fields "clickable" instead of just auto-tab? Because if you mess up when filling out the form, you don't want to have to tab through the whole document just to get back to that spot. How can i fix that?

My fields have always been click enabled. Not sure why they would not be.
For the form field boxes, check the properties of the boxes to see if there is an option for printout.

Text fields combining when PDF is saved and reopened

This has been a source of great frustration for not just me, but my coworkers working on the same documents. I individually create text fields in a spreadsheet/table format either initially in MS Word and converting to PDF, or create them in Acrobat while editing the document.
After I save the document and open it later to edit, the text fields are combined arbitrarily, usually close or touching fields are combined, such as parts of a column, but sometimes single letters from other fields get combined. At the same time, some other text fields will sometimes get split into individual rows.
Beyond looking messy when I want to edit these fields, the main problem i have in these cases is that whenever i try to edit these now combined text fields, the text and/or format of the field will get jumbled, thus making it impossible to edit.
Anyone else had this problem or know how to prevent it?

Hi - yes Iv'e tried in in several events inc 'Initialize' anbd 'Layout Ready', 'Doc Ready' - just cant seem to get it to work.
Here is the troublesome portion of the form, if you add some impact ratings the color will change, then save and close the form, reopen and the color formatting is lost

Making a text field required when a radio button is clicked

Hello all, I am very new to designing PDF forms, and I want to implement this requirement but have no idea how to go about doing it. I am designing an order form, and in a few different sections of the form are text fields that I want to be required, but only if a certain radio button on the form is clicked. So for example, I have a radio button group on the page consisting of two buttons, and then immediately to the right is a text field. If the user selects button 1, the text field is not required, but if they select button two, the text field is required. How do I implement this? I am using Livecycle ES3. And when I say required, I am referring to the field value/property of "User Entered - Required". Also, I cannot accomplish this by hiding and unhiding the field depending on which button is clicked, as this form will also be printed and filled out by hand, so all fields must be visible at all times. This form does have a submit by e-mail button and that is how it will be used primarily.
Also, I have searched around the forums a bit, and have tried some Javascript I have found, tying it to a mouseup event on the radio button, for example "getField("Text1").required = (getField("Radio1").value == "Yes");" and "getField("Text1").required = true;" with the names changed for my fields, but no matter what I try it has no effect

Acrobat Forms -- how do i make a text field opaque when typing

I'm new to the Forms formatting, so bear with me. I'm trying to create a fillable form which has rules to fill in by hand. How can I create a text field box that will cover the rules behind it if someone chooses to type the info instead of handwriting. I found a script that almost works:

The only problem with this is that the rules show while typing on top of them. The box turns opaque when a new entry is made in another field. Anyway to make the box opaque while they're typing ?

Text shifting Right when printing smarform in Dot matrix printer

Hi all,
I have developed a payslip in smart form. I am printing the smartform in dot matrix printer. when there is blank between 2 values like one of the deductions is blank between 2 values while printing its will shift to right indefinitely even though in the print preview it is appearing correctly. In the same way in the last line i am printing Total earnings deductions n net pay... Total earnings has to be printed approximately after 6 cms from left margin in print preview it is exactly where i wanted but when printing its printing after almost 8 - 9 cms
I have created a Z page format to fit the copying 6 inch page and added code to make necessary changes to print in continuously
Kindly help me to overcome the issue.

I am trying to display the text in the template which is of the exact size as in preprinted stationary, in paragraph format i am not using space between variables..

I have got the problem about smartforms, I have created my own smartform with original language TH and created the text node with Thai and English including Numeric Character. But when I executed the form to print preview, any texts cannot be read, its display as ###### neither I logon with TH nor EN Language. Please advise.
Ps. any texts in text node when seeing in smartforms can be read normally, it got the problem when print preview.
More information of my smartforms:
1. Language Attributes: Original is TH, Translate to all language, do not tick any checkboxes of Access area.
2. SAP version is ECC 5.0, Basis and ABAP Support Package is 014 Release 640, Application Support Package is 008 Release 500.
3. Kernel Release 640 Patch Level 101, Oracle 8.1.7, DBSL version 640, Patch Level 101.
4. OS Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

Which printer do you use?
Check in the transaction spad which printer and printerdriver you use. Dobbleclick on the printerdriver and check which codepade is assigned.
I think it has to be one of the following codepages:
8600     Thai Codepage ISO988/2533
8604     Microsoft Windows 874 for Thai
8611     Thai Printer Codepage 1 (EPSON ESC/P2)
8616     Printer HPLJIIID (Thai)
8617     Thai Postscript printing
8634     Thai Printer codepage (THSAPWIN)

My DW CC latest version does not show me the text field option when trying to make a form!!! P

So when I youtube the same version as mine it still show to other users the text field option but on my insert panel under forms it does not give me the option

Slitting text in lines when printing

I'm trying to send a string to the printer that is multiple lines. When printing on the paper the new line is ignored. How can I split my strings so that it will print on multiple lines? Thanks

You can split String with the split method. This method requires a parameter. For example if you wanna split the String every time you reach a space, use this as: string.split("[ ]");
if you wanna split it on ,'s, use string.split("[,]");
if you wanna use both, use string.split("[ ,]");
and so forth

Cannot print -- random text & blank pages when printing -- HP Color Laserjet 3600N

I'm having some trouble connecting my computer and printer via a network connection. The printer functions fine among other computers (Mac, PC) connected via a network connection, but one particular MacBook is giving me trouble.
I can get the printer and laptop to connect, however when I try to print, it gets buggy on me. Usually it will print a page with some random text, followed by an excess amount of blank pages, then another page with text similar to the first. The text usually has information including font types and other formatting data, but not what was "printed."
I have tried to update the printer drivers, but I cannot get the printer utility to utalize them. After installing the most recent drivers, it will continue to suggest the generic laser printer drivers (1.0 verison), or I can choose other printer drivers (including "base" 3000 model drivers), but the 3600N drivers are not avalible on the list. Both the generic drivers and the HP drivers give me the random text upon printouts.
The laptop is a MacBook Pro with 10.6.
What is the best course of action to remedy the printer problem?

Over the holidays, I spent a couple of hours on the phone with HP, a couple with Microsoft, and previously with Apple. Microsoft said they are working on updates, should be fixed by the release of Office 2008. Apple says there's a compatibility issue among the HP printer and Leopard and "some" programs. HP tells me it's an "old" printer (which they were happy to sell me in April 2007) and they may not release new drivers. HP also says Apple knows there are printing issues.
In the meantime, I'm using Pages and shopping for a new non-HP printer.

Why my text was lost when print? How to Fix it?

I creat a page,and there is many Texts Object,
when i click a button, then print this page from my HP Printer.
but , these Texts is can't all show: the text object is show natural when it is show at once，
but if it need to drag verticalScrollBar to show, it can not print to paper......

Not able to see PO text in prinout when printed after any change.

When I make any change in PO (e.g. Quantity, price, delivery date), and take printout, I don't see text (item level). But when it was printed first time, I can see all texts in printout.
