TFS 2012 SharePoint Related Error

Hello,
I have installed TFS 2012, a fresh install, on Server 2012 R2, SQL 2012, SharePoint 2013, and at the end of the TFS2012 install, i got a warning:
TF400113: The SharePoint Services referenced by the admin Url
http://servername:port and site Url http://servername/sites is invalid. The configuration of SharePoint Services will be skipped.
I am not able to browse to either of these sites, it fails.
Anyone know how to resolve this / get a successful TFS -> SharePoint configuration?
One thing i did notice is that i did not add the AD service accounts of the app pool to the "Allow log on as a batch job" so the app pool was not starting successfully.
Is it possible this is the cause of the issue?  i am about to reinstall TFS 2012 and try again.
TIA,
Ian

I have the same issue. Could you please elaborate how you resolve it with Group Policy for the AD service accounts being used by the app pool?
Thanks

    Hi
    I had same issue. Below is the solution
    Installing

  • TFS 2012 SharePoint Foundation

    Hello All,
    At work we had  SharePoint 2007 and I used the Business Data Web Parts (Excel Web Access) for the Dash Board.
    We did a TFS upgrade and came along SharePoint Foundation which didnt have the above web part. Reading various online material I am concluding that SharePoint Foundation doesn't support the Excel
    Web Access (basically I want to publish the charts I have from Excel documents which has imported data from TFS)
    I was told that I need to upgrade to Enterprise version to have this ability, is this the only way to have Excel Web Parts available?

    Yes.
    the Excel Web Access web part uses the Excel Services, which are ONLY available in SharePoint Enterprise Edition.

    SharePoint: SharePoint 2013
    Steps followed by me for upgradation:
    1. Stopped all the services of TFS and IIS
    2. Took backup of TFS and SP databases from SQL server
    3. Installed the new environment and restored databsases to new Database server
    4. Upgraded to TFS 2012

  • Install TFS 2012 Solution packages (WSP) on MOSS 2007 that already have TFS 2010 Solution package installed and deployed

    Hi
    I hope to place this question in the proper forum but if not, can someone move it to the right forum. Thanks
    I have a MOSS 2007 farm and I have 2 TFS 2010 SharePoint extension solution package (WSP) installed and working properly for a while now.
    Microsoft.TeamFoundation.SharePoint.Dashboards.wsp and Microsoft.TeamFoundation.SharePoint.wsp
    The Application team is going to upgrade their TFS 2010 server to TFS 2012 and want me to installed the new TFS 2012 SharePoint WSP solution to our MOSS farm.
    My Question is that do I have to uninstall TFS 2010 solution package first or can I installed the new TFS 2012 solution packages in addition and both TFS 2010 and TFS 2012 solution package will co-exist and will work properly?
    the reason i want to do this is making sure all existing TFS 2010 will still work.  My concern is if I have to uninstall TFS 2010 solution just to get TFS 2012 solution then run into problem with existing TFS 2010 projects.
    Thanks in advance for any advice or insight on this.

    Hi Ultragc88,
    Thanks for your post.
    What’s the detailed version of your TFS 2012?
    To create Backup plan, you must be a member of both of the following groups:
    1
    The Administrators security group on the server that is running the administration console for Team Foundation.
    2
    The SQL Server System Administrator security group. In addition, the service account for TFS (TFSService) must have
    SQL Server Perform Back Up and Create Maintenance Plan permissions set to
    Allow on each instance of SQL Server that hosts the databases that you want to back up.
    3
    The Farm Administrators group in SharePoint Foundation 2010, or an account with the permissions required to back up the farm.
    If you ensure you have the above permissions correctly, but still occur the same error, please share the full backup plan creating log here.

  • TFS and SharePoint Integration Issue

    I have moved TFS2010 with collections+sharepoint3.0+ report server. Everything is working fine. Except I am facing following issue regarding SharePoint. I have actually move my TFS2010 server from one hardware machine to another hardware. Sharepoint3.0
    is intergrated with TFS2010.I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard edition with TFS2010 and Sharpoint 3.0 and Server 2008 R2 data center edition as base OS. The move is actually a Restore-Base move. Before migration system name and softwares are identical.
    PROBLEM Detail:-
    When I try to edit excel file in sharePoint following error come to me
    "Edit document requires a windows sharepoint services-compatible application and microsoft internet explorer 6.0 or greater"
    internet Explorer is greater than 6.0 as I am using a internet explorer 9.0.29 version.
    I am using a SharePoint 3.0 and Office 2013 suit with it.
    IN TFS I have following SharePoint related Issue: (I have a folder on sharepoint which take data from workitems quries in TFS. It also appear in VS2010 in documents folder)
    In TFS when I open an Excel file that design to take data from TFS workitems automatically. But it will not update its item through defined workitems. So I open the file then enter required username password--->
    then enable editing (at this point it gives me errror "Run time error '91':
    Object variable or With block variable not set". I just end it to move forward)(Also after this it will show the IP of old TFS server from which I have restored so that is why I go to Team menu)---> Team menu
    -->  Configure --> here in connection I give the IP of my present TFS Server then it will connect to my collection manually-----> then I go to
    list and select the desired query from which the data should be update --> Now ofter pressing ok it will update the data in excel file from the query --->
    but the problem come when I try to save this file it will not save this file in sharepoint rather it gives me message that
    file is read-only and try to save file in different location or with different name.
    PROBLEM
    My Issue that excel file should be open directly from Sharepoint and user should be able to save it directly to sharepoint. Now my users first download the file --> change it and then upload it as a new file. very ambarrasing.
    Also my TFS users excel files are not updating from Workitems Queries automatically. These files must be updated automatically after we change the query data in work items.

    Having read through all the articles there is no definitive answer for this problem.

    Everyone running Outlook 2007 or below is absolutely fine. Both internally and externally.
    I would be very grateful if someone could either:
    1) Provide a resolution to this error.  All articles i am reading, even ones assigned as solutions, provide no insight as to the root cause and a clear resolution.
    2) Admit to an issue within Outlook 2010 and advise on possibility of future solution.
    I look forward to any insight on this.  Let's be careful out there ;-)

    Hi,
    According to your narration, first, please make sure this client can resolve the AAM name of the SharePoint server, in addition, make sure the user has enough permission on the list.
    You can use fiddler and netmon together to trace this issue.
    Finally, check out the following thread which may help you:

  • TFS 2012 CodeActivity Executing System.Diagnostics.Process Issue

    I have a fairly complicated build process that involves a modified workflow template, various custom workflow tasks, and code activity tasks executing in a TFS 2012 environment.
    This complex process boils down to creating a self extracting self executing archive using 7zip's command line tool.  I've created a custom C# CodeActivity that takes in various parameters on what to compress, where to put the output, etc.
    The activity uses the System.Diagnostics.Process object to start a synchronous process for invoking the command line tool.  Here's s snip-it of the code:
    string Invoke7Zip(string sevenZipExeFilename, string workingDirectory)
    if (File.Exists(Path.Combine(workingDirectory, TEMP_ARCHIVE_FILENAME)))
    File.Delete(Path.Combine(workingDirectory, TEMP_ARCHIVE_FILENAME));
    ProcessStartInfo pInfo = new ProcessStartInfo(sevenZipExeFilename, string.Format("a -t7z {0} * -m0=BCJ2 -m1=LZMA:d25:fb255 -m2=LZMA:d19 -m3=LZMA:d19 -mb0:1 -mb0s1:2 -mb0s2:3 -mx", TEMP_ARCHIVE_FILENAME));
    pInfo.WorkingDirectory = workingDirectory;
    pInfo.StandardOutputEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding(System.Globalization.CultureInfo.InstalledUICulture.TextInfo.OEMCodePage);
    pInfo.RedirectStandardError = pInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true;
    pInfo.UseShellExecute = false;
    pInfo.CreateNoWindow = true;
    Process p = new Process();
    p.StartInfo = pInfo;
    p.Start();
    p.WaitForExit();
    string stdOutput = p.StandardOutput.ReadToEnd();
    string stdError = p.StandardError.ReadToEnd();
    if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(stdError))
    stdError = "NO ERRORS REPORTED";
    return string.Format(COMPRESSION_REPORT_FORMAT, Path.Combine(workingDirectory, TEMP_ARCHIVE_FILENAME), stdOutput, stdError);
    I have a test project in which I invoke these activities in order to unit test them.  On my local dev machine the activity executes correctly. When run from TFS it appears to hang on p.WaitForExit();. I'll remote into the build machine and see the process
    opened but not using any resources (sitting idle consuming no processor unlike my dev machine test which uses a large amount of CPU).
    Is there a limitation from invoking processes from activities involved with a team build?
    EDIT:
    I should note that I am migrating away from the use of InvokeProcess activity so that I can generate reports. When using the InvokeProcess activity it would take about ~6min to complete the compression. I've let it sit for 30min in this activity without
    any progress.

    Hello John,
    Thank you for responding. I think you may have missed part of my explaination.  You are correct stating that I did say that my code activity correctly runs in a test project on my local machine.  However please see this quote from the original
    question:
    I have a test project in which I invoke these activities in order to unit test them.  On my local dev machine the activity executes
    correctly. When run from TFS it appears to hang on p.WaitForExit();.
    After verifying a correct run in the test project on my local machine I've pushed the custom assembly into the BuildAssemblies folder of TFS (which is where the controllers point to) and started a build in which the code activity is to be executed.
    When the build gets to the code activity it essentially hangs. I've let it sit for over a half hour in just this one task. That's longer than a previously successful build would run. If I RDP into the build machine I can see the process running under the
    build controller's account and can terminate it. This will cause the build to continue.  To be clear, this does not happen in my local testing project.
    As an additional piece of information I would like to point out that all dependencies of the console application are in source control and are part of the workspace which is created during the build (again, invoking this process does work when using the
    InvokeProcess task).
    I appreciate your follow-up and finding someone to help me further with this issue. It's kind of frustrating that I have not been able to figure out what is exactly causing this to happen.
    Regards,
    Mike G.

  • How to troubleshoot trror in ant build with TFS 2012

    Hi folks,
    I originally had an ant builds working in TFS 2010 using Eclipse as a
    client. I then upgraded to TFS 2012 and am using Explorer Everywhere 2012
    in Eclipse.
    Unfortunately, when I try to recreate the build, I see the error:

    The full log is below. Any help or pointers on how to troubleshoot

    Regards,

    Hi Rajesh,
    Sorry it took too long to reply back, so I have been investigating that issue and it turned out that the BuildAgentUri property that it is complaining about is now required while it was not in TFS 2010. so this suggests that your build targets file might
    be still 2010. To confirm this, please go to:
    this file C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\TeamBuild\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Build.targets
    you should fine two definitions for the CreateWorkspaceTask:
     <CreateWorkspaceTask
              TeamFoundationServerUrl="$(TeamFoundationServerUrl)"
              BuildUri="$(BuildUri)"
              BuildDirectory="$(BuildDirectory)"
              SourcesDirectory="$(SolutionRoot)"
              Name="$(WorkspaceName)"
              Comment="$(CreateWorkspaceTaskComment)"
              Condition=" '$(ProjectFileVersion)' != '4'">
          <Output TaskParameter="Name" PropertyName="WorkspaceName" />
          <Output TaskParameter="Owner" PropertyName="WorkspaceOwner" />
        </CreateWorkspaceTask>
        <CreateWorkspaceTask
              TeamFoundationServerUrl="$(TeamFoundationServerUrl)"
              BuildUri="$(BuildUri)"
              BuildDirectory="$(BuildDirectory)"
              BuildAgentUri="$(BuildAgentUri)"
              SourcesDirectory="$(SolutionRoot)"
              Name="$(WorkspaceName)"
              Comment="$(CreateWorkspaceTaskComment)"
              Condition=" '$(ProjectFileVersion)' == '4'">
          <Output TaskParameter="Name" PropertyName="WorkspaceName" />
          <Output TaskParameter="Owner" PropertyName="WorkspaceOwner" />
        </CreateWorkspaceTask>
    if you find only the first definition then this is the problem.
    Please let me know what did you find out.
    Thanks for your patience
    Thanks
    Mireille

  • TFS 2012 Test Agent keep alternating status Online/Disconnected

    TFS 2012 environment
    Test Controller and Agent Update 3.
    We are using a shadow account to connect the Agent (not on domain) to the Controller (on domain).
    The problem I'm having is that the Test Agent Status alternates constantly between Online and Disconnected.
    I have all TCP and UDP ports open in the Firewall on the Agent and Controller (can't just turn it off because of policy settings).
    I have created an environment in Lab Center and can kick off a Lab Template based build definition to execute an automated test.  The process get to a point of wait for the the test environment to be ready, starts a test execution, and completes the
    test run with a Warning: "An error occurred while communicating with Agent vstfs:///LabManagement/TestMachine/###", where ### is a three digit number.
    If I just sit and watch the Test Agent status, with no test runs running, the status will show Online for about 10-15 seconds and then show Disconnected for about 30-60 seconds.  And then it repeats.
    Another thing to mention, the Test Controller for this effort was cloned from a previous Test Controller that was used for another project.  The previous Controller was on the domain at the time of being cloned and had issues of being the same computer
    name on the network and then other issues because the Controller was already assigned to a collection.  Another person here went through a process of fixing by uninstalling the controller software and then deleting some XML files that were left behind
    after uninstalling the controller software.  I feel that a new controller should be created from scratch because I feel that there is still some conflicts between the old and new Controllers.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    I have additional information to supply to this thread for the benefit of others who may come across this issue.
    The main issue of using the same version of Test Manager with the version of TFS you have running is the first part.
    After this post, I added additional testing environments and virtual machines in SCVMM and started having the "Online/Disconnected" issue again.  With more research, I figured out that I had to add the IP address and host name of
    the Test Controller to the hosts file on the Test Agents (path to the
    hosts file "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\").  Just open this file in NotePad (or the editor of your choice) and add a line at the end with the IP and host name.
    Example hosts file:
    # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    # For example:
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
    # 127.0.0.1 localhost
    # ::1 localhost
    123.456.78.9 computername.domain.com
    I have used this several times and it has worked every time (so far) where I use shadow accounts in the TFS test environments.  Hope this helps!

  • WIndows Server 2012 - Server Manager Error CLR20r3

    WIndows Server 2012 - Server Manager Error CLR20r3
    I have just experienced this error of ( CLR20r3) when trying to add or remove server roles.
    Server Manager crashes when trying to go into the Add/ Or Remove server roles
    What I have tried.
    .NET Diag
    .NET Fix
    Lots of research, and didn't find any resolution.
    Apparently this is not strictly tied to Windows Server 2012, as I see that Windows Server 2008 R2 , and even Windows desktop users have experienced this issue. With no direct resolution.
    Here is a screen shot for reference.......
    If anyone should obtain the MS Fix or hear of it, please post so that others who are experiencing this issue can find peace in their day.
    I have given up, ended up performing a reinstall. ( sadly)
    RF

    Hi RF,
    Based on your description, would you please refer to following operations and troubleshoot this issue?
    Please use
    Sytem File Checker tool to scan all protected system files.
    Please
    perform a clean boot to check if some third-party services affected.
    Please backup the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole. Then delete following two registry key (if exist): LeagcyImepersonationLevel and LegacyauthenticationLevel
    Then log off and logon and monitor the result.
    In addition, please navigate to %windir%\logs and check ServerManager and CBS log file if you can find some
    relevant errors.
    If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu
