The client timed out waiting to connect to the Essbase Server using TCP/IP

Hi,All
When I deploy the HPCM application to essbase, i received the following message below in the log file hpm.log

And the Essbase service is up.
Pls help!
Shen.

If you are installing on Windows, there is a limitation in the default configuration of TCPIP. I wrote about it, and included the steps to fix it, on my blog at http://timtows-hyperion-blog.blogspot.com/2007/12/essbase-api-error-fix-geeky.html.
Note the error number you reported is slightly different than what I write about in the blog, but I believe I have seen this error fixed by the blog steps..

  • How to map the client PID:TID to db connection on the database?

    Hi,
We have a multithreaded application and each thread connects to database using the same userID.
How do I identify on the dtabase side which DB connection belongs to which client thread?
I need to uniquely map the client processID:Thread ID to a DB connection.
On Unix I do not see the processID:Thread ID pair in the v$session table process column.
It is only showing the PID.
Any other ways to map the client PID:TID to db connection?
    Thanks

Unix does not have threads. It does. See POSIX Threads. But it is seldom used (in my experience) - likely legacy reasons as the fork() model works well and the Linux/Unix kernel does not suffer from the same problems that the Win32/64 kernel does when faced with a large number of executable process images to manage.
May be mistaken, but I think Ingres added PThreads support to their database some years ago. My guess it won't be that difficult for Oracle to follow suit as they have a process/thread abstraction layer (using the fork() model on Linux/Unix and CreateThread() on Windows).
Question though is what will using PThreads buy ito resource footprint and robustness and management on a Linux/Unix kernel? From personal experience, writing code on Unix is safer as a forked child process cannot "damage" the parent (separate data segment). On Win32 a poorly behaved client thread can cause a failure in the parent process and crash it. But then Win32 API also supports fibres and one can design and code sophisticated multi-thread processes.

  • IR - Connection Issue to Essbase, client timed out

    Ref: essbase server problem
Ref2: Unable to add Essbase Server from Administration Services
I have the same problem as the posts above. There are no conclusions for above posts, does anyone here know how to fix this problem as it seems very common.
In my situation, I'm sure essbase is setup well and everything ran well. I started using IR connecting to essbase and done about 10 reports.
Until today, I am trying to test these reports by sending huge amount of data to Essbase.
Then retrieving the problem below when downloading to results:
Network error [10061]:unable to connect to [server c-noia-131 1423]
the client timed out waiting to connect to analytic services agent using TCP/IP check your connections also make sure that server and port values are correct
Any ideas how to solve this problem?

    Hey.
Adapter unable to recorginise the Jar file you have deployed, Did you mentioned the JAR file in Provider.xml file ?
Are you able to ping the DB2  server ?

  • Timed out waiting for ccmexec service to be fully operational

We are deploying Windows 7 in an SCCM 2007 R3 SP2 environment.  Some of the clients we target fail the task sequence with the error, "Timed out waiting for ccmexec service to be fully operational".  Below is the relevant part of the SMSTS.LOG
    file:
    Succeeded loading resource DLL 'C:\Windows\system32\CCM\1033\TSRES.DLL'
Failed to create an instance of COM progress UI object. Error code 0x80040154
Timed out waiting for ccmexec service to be fully operational

Failed to wait for Ccmexec service to be fully operational (0x80004005)
I have seen several posts with this error that say to create the "ConfigMgr Remote Control Users" group.
Here is an example.  We have created this group locally AND on the domain, but we still see this failure on about 10% of clients that we target.  Any other ideas what might be creating this issue?
    Thanks,
    FP

After a restart in the task sequence (not the same restart every time) the ccmexec process doesn´t seem to want to start again. The problem is intermittent and does not occure on every installation, though quite frequently.
In the smsts.log you get "waiting for the ccmexec process to start" and "Waiting for CcmExec service to be fully operational", eventually it times out and the installation fails. If we start a command prompt and start the service manually
    the installation continues though.
The strange thing is, this only seems to happen on a specific computer model. We have tried updating BIOS and drivers to the latest version, but no success.

I can not dowload the new updated software for my Ipod touch 4G. When i do I get an error message that says Network connection has timed out. I have done the trouble shooting steps. Downloaded the latest version of Itunes, and checked network connection

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

  • I've tried downloading iOS5 several times and after an hour each time I get a message that says my network connection has timed out.  But I can't find any information about "timing out" or how to correct the situation.  Any help?

Disable your antivirus and firewall, and try again.

  • How to up the timeout setting to solve password reset portal error "Authentication gate timed out waiting for a challenge response"?

    Hi Everyone,
We have the password portal up and running on one box and another server with FIM R2 and SharePoint 2010.  All is good with the exception that our end users typically get distracted during the password registration and/or reset process and receive:
"An error has occurred. Please try again, and if the problem persists, contact your help desk or system administrator. (Error 3000) ".  The timeout kicks in after 5 minutes of inactivity in the browser.
The FIM Service log shows the following:
"Authentication gate timed out waiting for a challenge response".
I have confirmed that the default password portal web.config setting is <add key="SessionTimeoutInMinutes" value="20" />.
We have also updated Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Service.exe.config per this
article to the following but with no luck:
    <resourceManagementClient resourceManagementServiceBaseAddress="myAddress" timeoutInMilliseconds="600000" />
      <resourceManagementService externalHostName="myHost" dataReadTimeoutInSeconds="600" dataWriteTimeoutInSeconds="600"/>
We did not update the Windows SharePoint Servicesweb.config setting per the article about since we are on SharePoint 2010.
There is no NLB or firewall in front on this server.
If anyone has any solution to how to solve this on FIM R2/SharePoint 2010 please let me know.
    Cheers!

    FIM_Admin,
You could try changing the receiveTimeoutInSeconds parameter of the resourceManagementService node in your Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Service.exe.config file. However, you are warned not to do this unless instructed to by MS customer support.

  • ITunes could not connect to the iPad "Micah's iPad Air" because the device timed out.

After using my ipad air for the last week, I plugged it in for the first time to back up some videos. I get this message: iTunes could not connect to the iPad “Micah's iPad Air” because the device timed out. Any ideas?

Eject your iPad if you haven't already done so. Quit iTunes and restart your computer. Reboot your iPad and then try again, use another USB port on your computer, of you have another free port available,
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

    Hi,
Are you trying to install on Vmware Workstation or Vmware Server?
If you are using vmware server add below line in your .vmx file for both node
    scsi1.sharedBus = "VIRTUAL"
First check which scsi serial number are you using as above I have selected scsi1 serial during disk addition,
