Hi, last friday I tried to follow to the introductions of a tutorial.
It was about creating another batch in the dock named „recent apps“.
Here’s the order to fill in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add ‘{ “tile-data” = { “list-type” = 1; }; “tile-type” = “recents-tile”; }’
Unfortunately, I overlooked the response of my Terminal:
-bash: syntax error near unexpected token ` } ’
After I moved on with the last order,
killall Dock
the consequence is now a terrible red cast over all white areas in all of my windows (browser, apps, word, excel, etc.), especially buttons, icons and backgrounds! :-((
In teamwork with the APPLE-Support we only could contain, that creating a new guest user could help and everything was as good as before.
To be honest, I’d really like to find another way…not to install all the s*** I’ve just installed to my new MacBook Pro Retina. I’m updated, using OS X 10.8.2.
Is there anyone who can help? Or know how to reverse my Terminal-orders?!

1.) I've opend my Terminal
2.) copied and filled in ur first order...pressed Enter
3.) copied and filled in ur 2nd order...pressed Enter.
restarted.
nothing changed.

I'm not familiar with mplayer, but doesn't it have a kind of "playlist"?
VLC has a playlist which enables you to play a sequence of movies without leaving the fullscreen mode.

Serial Recieve with termination character

Hi All,
I have developed a seqence fileto transmit data on the serial port and loop back to recieve the data on reciever of same port. I'm transmitting "Test
Serial" (Note: I'm not transmitting "Test\\rSerial") and recieving the data with termination character "carriage return".I'm using ASCII value 13 for the carriage return,but the recieve is not terminating on carriage return.
It seems Teststand is not able to recognize "13" or "\r" is seen as 2 character.
I'm attaching the sequence file for your perusal.It would be great if somebody can suggest me ways to make this work.

If this is using "IVI" then you could see every action in NI-Spy !
I watched you code. Another thing you could try is disabling the caching. Try Cache=0
now data shold send very time to your device by the IVI engine

Hyper-V could not replicate changes for virtual machine 'machinename': The connection with the server was terminated abnormally (0x00002EFE).

I have a 3 node cluster that has replica setup to replicate to another cluster off-site.
Suddenly one of the servers is not replicating with the error:
Hyper-V could not replicate changes for virtual machine 'machinename': The connection with the server was terminated abnormally (0x00002EFE). (Virtual Machine ID CC0FD4CC-F9B7-4C68-ABE8-B7D52A87899F)
All other servers are replicating fine so there cannot be a permissions or connectivity issue between the 2 clusters.
This server has 2TB of data so I'd rather not have to start the replication again.
Does anyone have any pointers?

Based on my knowledge , "hyper-v replica broker " is needed for failover cluster replica .

How do I stop the Curser from constantly highlighting with menu popping up

Something has happened. Very lately, the curser is very very sensitive.
Just holding it over something, it pulls it up without me clicking it.
Moving curser over a page, it highlights everything, and then I can't click out of it.
Sometimes I go to click something and a menu pops up making it impossible to click what I'm trying to click. It says Back, Reload Page, Open in Dashboard, View Source, Save Page, and Print page. ;None of which I have asked for. It takes 3 clicks to get the box to go away.
i've played with trackpad and can't figure out what the setting should be?
Driving me crazy

Remove the song in question from the sync list and see if the rectifies the problem.

Macs newer than 10.7's release just need to boot with the 'D' key.
Otherwise you need to find the original installer disk of the Mac, or call AppleCare for it to be able to run the hardware diagnostic.

Yeah the default program for installing Applications somehow got changed from the proper program to Terminal.
Right click on the App .DMG file and select Open With. It should say DiskImageMounter.App. If it says Terminal then select Other, at the bottom of the list, and then find DiskImageMounter.app.
Or after you right click on it select Get Info thenn in the Open With area select Other then find DiskImageMounter.app.
By the way you are in the correct forum. It is a Mac problem.

I was the person with the curser that was skipping backwards and typing my words backwards. Now it won't let me choose options when I'm trying to reinstall.

Okay. I was given the advice to make sure I had the latest Java. So I uninstalled all versions of Java. Reinstalled latest version of Java 6 update 23. Tried to reinstall Mozilla Firefox and got as far as the box that says: Import wizard settings and data. The curser bounces back and forth from the options microsoft internet explorer and don't import anything. It won't let me choose. It just keeps bouncing back and forth from those two options. Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

You should be able to solve that problem.
MiFis have a default power setting on them that turns off the device after XX minutes of no use (As determined by the MiFi). You can find and modify this setting in the MiFi Admin webpage. It should be under the advanced area and can be configured to leave the MiFi on all the time.
That being said, no MiFi model will behave very well as an always on home internet replacement device. Dedicated home cable routers and modems will always perform better, they are designed for that scenario. By comparison MiFis are designed to be light weight travel devices, they simply do not have the hardware necessary to be left online all day long with acceptable results. MiFis are more appropriate as a backup, mobile or temporary internet solution.
If you are looking for a home internet always on internet connection device you would be safer going with stronger hardware like a USB Modem+CradlePoint router, the VZW 4G LTE router or VZW HomeFusion. Any of those devices are going to provide you with a better experience for your home than the MiFis without additional equiptment like boosters and antennas. Some CradlePoint routers can be expensive but perform very well, the 4G LTE router has mixed review and the nice thing about HomeFusion is the special data plan and high powered equiptment.

4GB of RAM is not very much RAM these days particularly if you tend to have many windows open at one time. For example if you are working in Safari and have several tabs open and then work on a Photoshop project that will eat a lot of RAM. One simple way to check is open Activity Monitor (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor) and click the System Memory tab. Run this under typical use and check the amount of FREE RAM. It will look something like:
I can see from my example I am dangerously low on RAM by the amount of free RAM I have. I suspect if you upgrade to 8, 12 or even 16GB of RAM your machine would work much better. BTW ...my MacBook Air is limited to 4GB so it's up to me to manage my RAM better.

One of my exchange 2010 servers dpm agent is give the following error when the dpmra service attempts to start.
The DPMRA service terminated with service-specific error Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted..
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the agent but this does not resolve the issue
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Something has probably changed on the protected server side that affects the DPM agent. In some cases the DCOM configuration could change. Look at this blogpost and verify your DPMRA DCOM object.
