The green audio in iMovie won't give me any sound but the purple audio does have sound

I have been working on a project in iMovie for several months and I just imported a clip that had audio attached. When I did this all my green audio stopped generating any sound but the purple ones still work. I am clueless about what happened or how to fix it?

My ipod 4G won't connect to my wifi at home with new router. Says "unable to connect" and won't give me any other options. Have tried resetting network connections. I don't want to lose anything. I have tried turning everything off and back on again. Desktop and laptop are working fine. Sometimes it turns on suddenly and I can use it for like 20 mins but then shuts off again. Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • How do I know if private browsing is working? The purple mask does not appear when I click the mask icon. In my privacy settings "Never Remember" is selected.

I'm trying to confirm private browsing is working. Right now I have no way of knowing if it is on or not. The purple mask ,referred to in help, does not appear when selected. I should say in my privacy settings, I have selected "Never Remember" for history.

Do you mean you have checked the box: "Always use private browsing mode"? If so, it's intentional that the private browsing icon isn't displayed as we didn't want Firefox to be showing everyone within view that you're using private browsing mode IIRC.
There are some easy things you can do to confirm that you are in private browsing mode such as visiting a new website and then confirming it doesn't appear in the history window.

  • When connected to itunes, my iphone 4 shows up as a device. GREAT - but it won't give me any other option than to restore it from older back ups saved. I went to a Genius and there's nothing wrong with the phone itself so it HAS to be my itunes. Ideas?

My iTunes is up to date and i have print screens to show you what I'm on about if it's unclear:
    http://i40.tinypic.com/mku9lw.jpg
    http://i41.tinypic.com/25h1gs1.jpg
The genius said he'd not come accross this before but i'm pretty sure everything is up to date on my pc (well...it's a vista so as up to date as it can be)
    PLEASEEE HELLP MEEE

one more detail, after a restore, when I attempt to reload music to the ipod, if I try and move, say, 20 files, the transfer seems to work as it should but then stalls on the last file.  Eventually, the status will change to "Updates Files on (my ipod)" a and suggests the iPod is syncing  even though I have the auto sync feature turned off.
This process eventually works itself out, and seems to take longer relative to the number of files I attempt to transfer.   Once done, howver, if I try and eject and dismount the iPod, iTunes stalls with the spinning pinwheel and I am warned that the iPod is syncing again with the spinning candy cane status bar.     Eventually thisd works itself out and the iPod dismounts from iTunes and the desktop and eventually the iPod is free to disconnect.
Then if I try and play the music I just transfered, the iPod says there is no music loaded.
    Ideas?

  • HT4623 My iPad gave me a message saying I needed to update the 'IOS'? and would let me do anything but click 'update'.  So I did.  Now it is 'stuck' on a screen titled 'Joining Other Network' and it won't give me any other screen or option.

I have tried turning my iPad off and on several times over the past two days since it stopped working.  Also, I have now connected it to my main apple computer, thinking the two would perhaps 'sync', to no avail.  My computer seems to be working fine.  How do I get my iPad to function again?

If you open it to take out the battery from the iPhone then you forfeit all service for whatever reason from Apple in the future.
Have you attempt to connect it to your computer and then restore it from iTunes on your computer?

  • Have original ipad which won't backup, itunes says there is an error but won't give me any details

I have an original ipad which I struggled to update the OS software from 3.2 to 5.0 but eventually managed to do this manually.  HOwever, now there is an update to 5.1 which when I try to do it via wifi, it just says there is an error.  Tried to do it through iTunes but it starts to back up and then tells me there is an error but does not give details, when I click on the further information button it doesn't do anything.  Because it won't back up, it won't let me install the update.  It won't back up either to the computer or to iCloud, I have tried both.  I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas.
Also, in case anyone can help - several of my apps won't work on my ipad - logo quiz, ibooks (worked fine until I updated software system) and a few others - just flicks on briefly and then throws me out.
    Thanks in advance.

  • I have tried to update the itunes to the new version, and it keeps trying to download to drive E! It doesn't give me any options to change it either, does anyone have any suggestions?!

I have tried to install the newest itunes and when its done downloading and trying to install, it tries to go to drive E, which is a disk drive. It gives no options to change it and I have tried about 6 times in the last 2 days! anyone have any suggestions?!?!

    It says:
    iTunes Installer completed
Errors occured during installation iTunes could be configured.
Your system has not been modified. To complete the installation, run the installer again.
Click Finish to exit the installer.
I dont know what to do next. Everything I try doesnt help it any. I really want to put music on my iPod but I cant!

  • MacPro won't boot from any disk but the original

We picked up a lightly used MacPro 2 x3.2G Quad Intel Xeon at work. The plan was to remove the internal drive (which is also the boot disk) and replace it with a brand new WD Caviar Black 500G drive with OS 10.5 freshly installed, and then use Migration Assistant to transfer from the old machine.
The problem is that when trying to run the OSX install disc on this new machine, it will restart, but then not boot from the install disc. Rather, the apple logo pops up, it thinks for a bit, then the grey curtain drops and i get the multi-language "you must restart your machine" message.
So, after successfully doing an install of the OS on the fresh drive using a different machine, i put it back into the new one, restarted holding OPT, and selected the fresh OS drive. I get the same multi-language message, and the machine will not boot. I've tried installing the OS on a different HD as well, to the same results.
The new machine will restart using the startup disk (internal HD) that came with it and will run Apps, etc. To confuse things further, i pulled my startup HD out of my personal tower at home (also running OS 10.5, but it's been updated to 10.5.8), stuck it in the new machine, and tried to reboot from that. This DID work (normal time startup, apps work, etc).
I thought this might be a HD problem, but now it seems like a machine problem. Maybe it doesn't like the OS install? I dunno.. Thoughts?
I just had one. I'll try to clone my HD/OS from my personal computer to the new WD 500G drive, and if that works, i'll just go from there...maybe i just had to type this out to think of something different to try, but i'll post it anyways...

So you're saying essentially that this new machine, when it came out of the Apple factory, had OS 10.5.x installed on it, and because that was the original install, it won't recognize something that has OS 10.5.0, even if that install is on a fresh HD? Basically the hardware inside the tower can't/won't recognize any OS prior to the original 10.5.x factory install?
well, if that's the case, then 1)that's ridiculous of Apple to do, and 2)it makes this whole problem make more sense, and it's good future knowledge for me to have.
I cloned my personal OS (but not the users, docs, etc) and stuck that in the new tower, and it works well so far. I'm in the process of copying files to other internal drives, and i'll be using Migration Assistant to transfer users from our old system to the new one, and if all still works fine after that, i think we'll be good to go. So, based on what you've told me about the factory OS install, etc, i think we're on the right track.
Thanks very much for your input!

  • IMovie won't play in any of my default media players on my PC including Quicktime. Solutions?

I wanted to upload this movie to youtube and I tried multiple times to do so from my iPod Touch. After many failed attempts I sent the movie to iTunes so that i could just upload the movie myself from my PC. But the movie will not play on any of my media players including Quicktime.

+Could this be related to the brand of DVD's I'm using or the encoding that older DVD players are not able to read?+
Yes and yes. If it plays in your Mac, it should play in a DVD player. Use DVD-R, not any other format. Verbatim works flawlessly for me.
I recommend a disk image burned to Verbatim DVD-R at 4X or slower using Toast or Disk Utility. You can set burn speed in iDVD '08 if not creating a disc image.
David Pogue also recommends Verbatim on page 356 of his iDVD 6 book:
iMovie HD & iDVD 6: The Missing Manual
Quoting David: "Cheaper brands don't use the same amount of organic dyes and are more likely to suffer premature deaths."
iMovie '08 & iDVD: The Missing Manual.
I buy Verbatim white inkjet printable in stacks of 50. Verbatim's part number: 94971. They have been flawless for me.

  • I am using Photoshop CS5 extended and I have tried to get an update to be able to use raw with my D600 and it won't give me any options. Any recommendations othere than to go to PSCC and LRCC?

Is there a way to update PS CS5 extended to allow me to use raw with my D600. It works with my D300 and D90 raw but not with my D600.

CS5 Adobe Camera Raw stopped at 6.7 and the D600 support was introduced in 7.2 for CS6.
You are eligible to upgrade to Photoshop CS6 for $200 Standard or $400 Extended if you do not want the Cloud.

  • My netflix isn't working on my MacBook Pro. I tried 3 different browsers and it won't work on any of them. It said I have to update my Adobe player, which I did, but it still won't work.

My netflix won't play on my computer. At first it wouldn't work in Safari and it gave me a redirect failure (too many redirects). Then I tried it in Chrome and it won't work in there. It work for a few days in Firefox and now that doesn't work either. I have a MacBook Pro OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2. I just updated because I thought that would help. I tried clearing my history/cache but that didn't work. Do I have a Mac version of a virus? Help! What is wrong?
Also, I noticed when I log into my computer with my password when I first turn my computer on, The password box is slightly off center the first time, then I type my password, then it comes up again looking centered like it's supposed to. What is happening???

  • XServe won't boot from any drive, but recognizes them in OS X Installer

I know I have another post here but this is a different issue, and I've already fixed that one thanks to Camelot .
I just received an 2 used xserves for work. One booted into OS X Server fine, so I scrubbed it and reinstalled without issue.
The second however never booted into an install. That is, I never found it on my network when I started it up and when I pushed the power button it would turn off immediately, suggesting that there was no OS on the disk or that the xserve couldn't find it. I didn't have a spare monitor to plug into it (surprisingly) so I just chalked it up to the fact that it was a new disk and hadn't had OS X Server installed on it.
Now I have a spare monitor, I've gone and installed OS X Server on the xserve. It boots from the DVD just fine, runs through the installer, then when it goes to restart, it won't boot from the hard drive that it just installed OS X Server on, it'll just boot back from the DVD unless I pop it out. If I let it boot up without the DVD in it, I'll get the standard Folder with a ?.
At first I thought it was the drive, so I installed OS X Server on another drive. Still wouldn't boot to that drive, so I booted from the DVD and repaired the disks in Disk Utility. Still nothing. I booted to DVD again and when I went to Startup Disk, it actually did show my disks with their respective OS X Server installs.
When I boot the machine holding alt/option, the system doesn't show my drives, only the DVD if it's in the slot.
I figured ok, this has to be the drives, so I swapped them with those of the identical xserve in the rack below, but my top xserve wouldn't boot from those drives either. Somewhat expectedly however, the bottom xserve would boot the drives that I took out of the first one.
Now I'm just stumped. Any ideas?
    PS, drives are unlocked.

The EFI firmware, the SMC and possibly the disk I/O path seem good potential candidates for culprit.
Load and run the hardware diagnostics.
Reset the SMC, and reset the LOM.
I'm running the EFI diagnostic tool now. Firmware and disk I/O path came to mind, let's just hope it's not a major hardware issue
