Since you don't say how old your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Try this
Settings->General->Reset->Reset Network Settings
Then rejoin the wifi.
If this does not work try this
Settings->WI-FI->The wifi name->Forget this Network
Then rejoin the wifi.
If this does not work try this
press the home button and lock until you see the apple logo.

Why does the back light on my Tour keep going in and out?

All of a sudden (over the 4 or 5 days) my battery is draining very quickly. I take my phone off the charger at 8:30am and by the time I am driving home from work @ 5:00pm the battery is completely dead.
I also just noticed that there is something wrong with the back light dimming.
You know how if you don't touch your phone for a long period of time (mine automatically locks) then the back light dims slowly to black. My phone doesn't light up again until you touch a button or do something to the phone.
Since I have been having battery problems I noticed that after prolonged none use my phone dims to black and then immediately lights back up again on its own. And it continuously does this all day long, which is why I think it is killing my battery.
Anyone know why this is happening? I tried turning the phone off for awhile and then back on....nothing seems to help.

Everytime I pick my ibook up the light goes out. I can kinda still see that the screen is still on, its like the main light just goes out and i have to cut it off and cut it back on. It just started happening frequently this past week. Anybody know whats wrong or what i could do to fix it?

It depends on which model iBook you have, and you haven't given us that information.

Wifi problem: signal keeps going on and off and on and off.

For some reason the wifi indicator keeps changing from max strength to flat out no connection, max strength again, no connection, max strength, no connection... it keeps flipping back and forth. Not sure why this is happening because my other macs in the house (G5 and macbook pro) are showing a steady wifi signal.. so there is nothing wrong with my wifi router.
Any ideas how I can fix this?

Some steps to try:
1. Turn Airport off and back on, see if that stabilizes it. Or restart and see if it persists.
2. Create a new location in System Prefs->Network, and see if it still happens.
3. Unplug and replug your modem and router (let them sit for ten seconds) to reset them, just to be sure.
4. Go to a wireless hotspot--local coffee shop or library or something--and see if it happens.
If after all that, you're still seeing the issue on multiple networks and multiple set-ups with your machine, then it may be your card and it's worth a call to AppleCare or a visit to the Genius Bar.

Restart your computer while holding down left mouse key. That will eject the CD and your Mac will start as normal.

Wi-Fi keeps going on and off!

I have my iMac in my bedroom and away from the modem.
Therefore it is connected to the Wi-Fi.
I also have a MacBook and iPhone. Both connected.
MAybe oone or two months now, The Wi-fi on my iMac switches off and then on by itself.
I know it's the WiFi as the network is still there, and my iPhone still works on the WiFi.
I hovered over the Network icon just now, and saw it actually switch off and on, on the status.
What is this? Is it a fixable fault?
Could it be interference from other networks on the same channel?

Screen sharing setup in 10.5, 10.6 are described by the links by operating system. 10.7 is fairly similar to 10.6.
And if both Macs have Firewire, you can setup a Firewire over IP network for fast communication between machines. Note if you have two different Firewire ports a 6 pin to 9 pin Firewire cable does exist. There are no Firewire to USB cables.

I tried to find a manual to show how to get the laptop open and then be able to get the card number so I can order one. I have removed the screws but can't get it appart. So what SL disc are you using? The retail 10.6.3 disc (white with the snow leopard pic) or a grey disc borrowed from another Mac?

I am not allowed to download LR, is there any particularly reason for this? - I cannot add it to the CC app nor can i download it... ?

When trying to DL light room CC to my app, the DL simply goes idle. It never turns up in the app centre and when searching for it, there is no results either... what to do, what to do? :-)
