The problem in using JComboBox. Need Help!
HI,
I am programming to make an address bar as IE? Now, I am using JComboBox as the address bar. I also read the article of "how to use JComboBox" in sun tutorial.
The problem is I cann't make the icon and text together in the address bar. As in the tutorial article, I can make it there since the JComboBox is uneditable.
My case is I still want the icon in the JTextField of JComboBox, but I am still able to input address into this JTextField as well.
Is it able to add a JLabel into JTextField first, and then be able to input text exactly after this icon, then my problem is solved.

Hi Feng,
My suggestion is that you try out the JComboBox methods setEditor() and setRenderer(). They allow you to specify custom components that will be used to show the combo box items. You'll need to do a bit of work, but you'll probably be able to provide a custom component that will display your icon.

How do I preserve the embedded hyperlinks when printing to .pdf?
I am using Acrobat Pro XI for Mac, and when I export to .pdf the existing hyperlinks lose functionality. I assume it’s just the flick of the right button – I just need help finding that button.

I recently starting receiving the error message "Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to... An erro occurred while copying files. The problem may be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk. I have had no problems backing up my MacBook Pro 2011 to my Western Digital My Book Live through a Linksys EA4500 router until recently. I've made no major changes. I've ran a diagnosis on my back up drive with no problems. The Time Machine back up starts, but about after about 5 to 10 minutes I get the error message. I can see the shared drive in Finder. The light on the drive blinks while it starts the back up. I can see the shared folders on the networked drive. The backup process starts but for some reason it just stops. Can anyone help?
You can't repair a network volume in Disk Utility.
Backing up to a third-party NAS with Time Machine is risky, and unacceptably risky if it's your only backup. I know this isn't the answer you want, and I also know that the manufacturer says the device will work with Time Machine, and that it usually seems to work. Except when you try to restore, and find that you can't.
If you want network backup with Time Machine, use as the destination either an Apple Time Capsule or an external hard drive connected to another Mac or to an 802.11ac AirPort base station. Only the 802.11ac base stations support Time Machine, not any older model.
If you're determined to keep using the NAS for backup, your only recourse for any problems that result is to the manufacturer (which will blame Apple.) -
I want to perform bidirectional i/o using a pci-6534.The problem is that i need to use the same lines for i/p and o/p. is that possible? And if it is how an i doing this?
Hi I Pant,
The idea that crossed my mind was to tie each of the lines coming from/going to "your device" to two of the DIO lines. Configure one these two ports as input, the other as output.
When you want to read the state of the line, read from the line configured as input. Similarly, use the other port when it is time to write.
Provided "your device" uses tri-state drivers/receivers, or can be used in a "wired-OR" configuration, this may work.

Connect the iPod to your syncing computer and restore it via iTunes. However, if iTunes asks for the unknown passcode you need to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod from backup. For recovey mode see:

News "FLASH"... Nancy O (the legend) ... i need help again
I am trying to put a banner on my website for my exam.... It will have to have an image with logos flashing across and stopping for a few seconds before carrying on.and out the other side. I have looked up everywhere to see how this is done but with no joy. There is lots of info out there but it is not working for me. In Flash i have no problem creating a banner image with various logos moving from one side to the other or even changing the image from one shape to another or bouncing it up and down the stage from one side to the other. I can even stagger the timelines for the logos to make them enter one after the other. The one thing i can not get to grips with is making the images stop or pause after they have entered from one side before exiting the other side. I have followed step by step many youtube tutorials but the authors are wizzing through them too fast and despite folling every step second by second, i am missing a vital step somewhere. Would someone please let me know step by step (and please assume i am an idiot when doing this) the sequence i must follow from the very begining to the last step when i publish.

Sorry. I don't do much Flashy stuff anymore. As far as I'm concerned, when Apple iDevices quit supporting Flash, it became a dying web technology.

Time machine backups are failing. I've followed the instructions I found on the Time Machine troubleshooting page (http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html) but have gotten to where I don't know what to do next.
Sequence of events:
The main error message is always:
An error occurred while copying files. The problem could be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk.
Yesterday, I opened Disk Utility and verified the disk. Got this error:
Error: This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility.
I ran Disk Utility and repaired the hard drive. Then I manually started the backup before going to bed, figuring it was going to take a long time to run. When I got up this morning, the backup had failed with the same "could be temporary" error. I checked the log, which says:

TeryYou have repaired your boot drive (which is good) but have you repaired your time machine drive? I don't own a Time Capsule so I don't know if disk utility can operate on it. If it can, you should repair it as well. You may need to erase it and start a new backup. That happens to time machine volumes from time to time and is why people who are serious about their data never rely on a single source of backup.

Is the disk recognised?
If so and TM cannot pick it up.. do a full reset of TM and try again.

I connect my ipad to my pc (Windows xp SP3) and I can see my ipad and photos in my computer. When I install the itunes 11 , after installation , I can't connect the ipad again or any other apple device. The Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is listed in device manager, but has a yellow "!".
I have try to reinstall the drivers from c:\progamfiles\common files\apple\... but the problem persist. Could you help anyone about this ?You need to completely uninstall iTunes from your computer and then download and install it again.

Unfortunately, there is pretty much nothing you can do. Only the owner of the account used to lock it can remove the lock. If you can't contact whoever you purchased it from, or if they can't or won't remove the lock, then it's a brick. There is a very real chance that it's stolen.
