The scanner is not available while in use by another application?

i have canon lide 100..whn i scan..its shows mgs the scaner is not available while use in another aplication..plz help me

To isolate the issue you describe, please follow these instructions to put your computer in a Selective Startup:
 1.  Press the Windows key on the keyboard and then press R.
 2.  In the Open box of the Run window, type msconfig and and then click OK.
 3.  In the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, click on the Selective Startup radio button.
 4.  Remove the check in the Load Startup Items box.
 5.  Click the Services tab.
 6.  At the bottom of the Services tab, click Hide all Microsoft Services box.  The window will refresh.
 7.  Under Service column, uncheck each box that is left in this tab.
 8.  Click Apply and then Close.
 9.  Click Restart.
10.  Proceed to use your scanner to see if the issue you described has been corrected.
11.  After using your scanner, repeat steps 1 and 2, click Normal Startup and then restart your computer.
Are you able to use the scanner while in selective startup?

    How do I disconnect./eject my new ipodnano after I had synched my playlists (from itunes library on my computer).

    For the immediately problem, you can shut down the computer and disconnect the iPod.
    There may be a process (program) running on your computer in the background that continuously monitors mounted volumes for things like maintenance, data corruption, and malware.  The iPod's storage is a mounted volume.  If you know of any such program, such as an "anti-virus" utility, and it has settings that allow you to exclude certain volumes, you can set it to ignore the iPod "disk" when connected.
    Also, if you are using automatic syncing (not the manual method) to load the iPod, and you have Enable disk use turned ON, turn it OFF.  With Enable disk use turned OFF, iTunes only mounts the iPods disk when syncing, then immediately unmounts the disk.  Thus, other processes you have running on your PC (not iTunes) will have less of a chance to make the disk "in use" and cause this problem.  You won't even have to eject the iPod before disconnecting.

    Cached exchange mode was already marked so that was not the issue.
    I have done all the usual of creating a new profile, reinstalling Outlook etc but nothing seemed to work. I also tried going back to Outlook 2007 and reinstalling Windows but same problem.
    However, I am not sure if it is connected but I was useing the option in MS Live Sync to synchronise Office settings which I turned off recently and now no longer have the issue. Unfortunately I cannot remember when in the process I did this so cannot be
    sure it was responsible - anyone else found this?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

    - Reset all settings

    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    Hi guys, I am needing assistance with this matter.  I have read up on similar threads (mostly commented on my Bill Hunt), but I fear I may be missing something.  Can anyboy please assist me?
    Here's the background:
    OS:  Windows 7 64-bit.
    Video footage format:  AVCHD 1440 X 1080 (1.333) 25fps, 48KHz
    Photoshop Images:  1440 X 1080 (1.333)
    I have been running CS4 Master collection for the past year and a half, with minimal hassles in encore (except for the early patch that needed to be downloaded and applied for some or other transcoding error in Encore CS4). 
    Right, so we bought the CS5 Master collection upgrade, and all applications are running great, except Encore.  The moment I have completed editing my hour-long video in Premiere Pro CS5, I "send to Encore" via Dynamic Link.  (This is the way I have been operating countless times in CS4.  However now, in Encore CS5, the programme opens with all the regular project settings and saving dialogues, but the the moment it looks as though Encore is going get going, it stalls and doesnt respond, forcing me to close and try again. 
    So I tried the other way around.  I restarted Encore, created a new project, in a new project folder, encore opens, and I chose to Import as "new timeline" selecting the Premiere project of choice.  This time around, i don't get a crash out of Encore, instead I get the following message:
    "The software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. 
    Installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem."
    So I googled the matter, and came up with Bill's response to the same problem (expect the date that it was posted was back in 2009).  I am would desperately like to know if there is a solution, a patch, a workaround of some sorts that can help me get back to my usual workflow. I am pretty screwed without encore at this present moment, and the work is piling up.  Can anybody help?

    I am having the same problem however I end up having hardware error "Sense code 52102"
    My video capture is similar to yours except I am using HD (Canon HNV model Legria HV40)
    The process takes a long time and I have breaks in my recording to DVD and with no sound - once it completed after 40 hours.
    I have wasted over 20 DVD's trying different things.
    OS:  Windows 7 64-bit.
    Video footage format:  HD 1440 X 1080 (1.333) 25fps, 48KHz
    Photoshop Images:  1440 X 1080 (1.333)
    I have not tried what you did buy opening up Encore and importing to new timeline , let me do that and see if I get the same message.

      I got this message after importing about ten or so H.264 files that I encoded from Adobe media encoder.  "adobe encore the software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. installing the correct decoders for the file you are working with may help correct the problem."
    The files we're shot with HD cameras.  Edited in Premiere Pro CS3.  I installed the update 3.0.1 with still the same error.
    I also tried a brand new project and after about ten or so files being imported into a timeline, the system crash.  I tried this twice....

           Here is the skinny.  A window base PC.  footage shot with HD sony HD cameras,  Project imported to Premiere CS3.  Once completed sent file to Adobe media encoder and render them as H.264 widescreen high Quality.  Imported them to Adobe Encore CS3.  After about ten files or so.  I got the error message.  Did all the basic trouble shoot like restarting the computer, got latest patch.  Even build a new test project with the same problem.
        Something else I read in the forums, is the encore will transcoded the project to Mpeg 2 anyway, after looking at my project I realized those few files were indeed untranscoded.  So it will be a double compression and I dont want that.  So, my new question is, what is H.264 good for ?????????? I was research that Mpeg 2 is a faster render but H.264 is a slower render but better quality.....
       what do you think ????

    You could, but the error message is indicating that your iPhoto library needs repairing.
    Check, if iPhoto will run, if you launch it on a new library. Hold down the alt/option key, while you launch iPhoto. Select to create a new library from the panel that will show. Can you create a new library? If yes, try again to fix the library. Which options have you tried from the Library First Aid panel, when you launched iPhoto with the option and command key held down?
    If you have not tried "Rebuild"; do that next. But be sure to make a backup of your iPhoto library, before you try this.

    I can see that this has been asked numerous times over the years.  I am sorry to post this AGAIN, but I have not yet found a solution and have a deadline looming.
    We created a 200+ DVD's using Encore CS6 on a Windows 7 system.
    We upgraded to Windows 8.  Re-installed CS6 Production Premium.
    Now, when we try to open the projects to make a few edits, we get the "The software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system.  Installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem."
    I've done the Encore Updates.  I've done the Media Encoder updates.  I've "Run as Administrator".
    I've tried re installing.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to debug this?  The videos are already transcoded as *.m2v files.
    You'd think this would be easy... like install a codec or something.

    Part of the problem is that this is probably not a "logical" error.  The common cause of this issue is still image files where the pixel size is too large. This suggests that Encore's (and other Adobe apps) ability to handle image size is exceeded without a better error message.     I had the same issue. What I did was save the movies on a thrid-party app like Download Manager Lite. Once downloaded, go back to itunes, go to your iDevice, go to apps and transfer the app, then scroll down and click on the app and from there you can send the movies to that app and WILL play. Can only hold up to 8 videos/movies (this is for iPod Touch 3G or better, iPhone 3s or better, iPad requires iOS 4.3 or better)

    From other ipod (nano, classic): I don't remember.
    If your just putting them on iTunes, it should show and play on iTunes no problem.

Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder. Restart Skype. N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

"The Skype can not start because the system is not available" *** What kind of system? The Skype was on a P2P system, where is impossible that the system is not available! This is why the skype was much better than the Microsoft's messenger. Then they bought it, and make it wrong...
    I found a solution for this problem, this can happen if my client is not updated. But IT IS!
    How does it works? Can we use the **bleep** Skype how we would like to use? Or this time we need to find an other application (like Viber), and using that while they not buying that as well, just because that is better?

    Hi All, We are using Informatica 9.5.1 and Oracle 11g as by metadata DB. Initially our INFA_DOMAIN_REPO password was expired, so we couldn't connect to repository. Then we reset the same password and we restarted infa services also. But when we tried to connect repository we faced "Failed to connect repository" error. When i try to connect to Admin Consol, page was not displayed. When we check the node.log file it had a error message saying "2014-07-20 04:45:37,553 ERROR [Monitor Guaranteed Message Logger Thread] [CCM_10322] While logging messages to the Log Service, the following error occurred: [[DOM_10022] The master gateway node for the domain is not available. Electing another master gateway. Wait for the election of the master gateway node to  complete. If the problem persists, verify that the master gateway node is running.]. Fix the errors written to the node.log file. com.informatica.isp.domainservice.exceptions.ISPMasterNotAvailableException: [DOM_10022] The master gateway node for the domain is not available. Electing another master gateway. Wait for the election of the master gateway node to  complete. If the problem persists, verify that the master gateway node is running" We checked all the env variables and all looking fine.Node is also running. Please help to uderstand this issue ans the fix.   • OUTLOOK can not open and prompt "the server is not available"

    The user configured multiple accounts in profile, when open MFCMAPI first, OUTLOOK can't open normally and prompt "the server is not available".
    How to solve this problem?

    Are you able to launch Outlook 2010 if the MFCMAPI is not running? If you happen to know the IP address and server name of your Exchange server. Please try to ping both of them from client side. If it is successful, then the connection to the server is good.
    You might try to run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration which is developed to test connection with Microsoft Exchange Server. Follow below steps:
    a.
    While Outlook is running, click the CTRL key and then right-click the Outlook icon in the system tray and then select “Test Email Autoconfiguration”.
    b. Confirm that your email address is in the address field,
    uncheck “Use Guessmart” and “secure Guessmart
    authentication” boxes. Then click the “Test” button.
    After the testing is completed, you can see the results for the selected account. It will show you the complete details of the account like Protocol, Server, Port, Login Name, SSL (enabled) etc. Then you should be able to see what exactly goes wrong.

    I have a HP J6413 all in one printer, attached to a macbook pro.  It's worked fine for a long time now, but now when I try to scan, I get a message on my computer in preview which says "scanner not available" ... then preview crashes.
    I have tried cleaning up my machine using disk utility etc ... but no change
