The top little tap that holds the ram in place broke

While upgrading my Macbook Pro ram, the top little tap that holds it in place broke and now my computer wont load. It just shows a circle with a line through it. I got the ram to stay in place yet it still keeps coming up as the circle.. ugh. I am freaking out here. I've changed the ram many times before. Is my computer done for? what can i even do...

Damage you do during a RAM upgrade is accidental, and thsi issue needs a new logic board.  I will not lie ... not cheap.  $700 is a rough estimate.
The sad part is that it may have been weak to begin with, and would have broken if Apple broke it during RAM upgrade.  But they could not deny responsibility if it is in their care for the upgrade.  That is the risk I run when changing my own RAM.
