How to place the themes in personalization?

Hi TTN,
It is very easy. Just go to System Admin -> Portal Display -> Desktop and Display Rule -> Open u r desktop ( If u r wrking with Default desktop open it from content provided by SAP) .
Now go to theme editor , assign u r theme to u r desktop .
Now u can see the u r theme in portal personalization .

I have searched the forum and cannot find out how to hide the SAP themes in the personalization area. We do not want our users to see them or be able to select them. Any assistance would be most appreciated. Our environment is NW04 Stack 12.

Hi Kris,
As Far as I knoe we can change themes in personalize section.
Please press the personalize button on the right hand side to corner and changed to no theme. I think to do that you must have authorizatons.

Urgent-How to retain data in main page after returning from personalize pag

Hi,
i have a query,
Like if I have a region 'CertificationRN' when I run the page a link stating “Personalize Table: (CertificationRN)” appears above the Region
Now when I enter some data in this region, and then click on 'Personalize Table: (CertificationRN)’ link, personalize page appears.
On personalize page when clicked on “Return to Application’ it returns to the previous page, but the data which I had entered in the region is lost.
i.e. I get empty Textboxes as they where just after running the page.
What should I do to retain the data in the region?

Shilpa in that case personlization links should not be shown to business users, using profile option
1)Personalize Self-service Defn (FND_CUSTOM_OA_DEFINTION)
2)FND: Personalization Region Link Enabled
(FND_PERSONALIZATION_REGION_LINK_ENABLED)
, then where does the question comes of them clicking personalize link.

OA Framework Personalization unable to add separator beween fields

All,
I have a Default Single Column: (SingleColumnLeftRN) In which i have Field1... Field10 ( Field5-Field10 are Custom fields added through Personalization).
I wan't to add a seperator line and Tip Message between Field5 and Field6, I have created them through personalization and they are appearing in the bottom part of the region even after i re-ordered the fields between Field5 and 6.
Any clue why this behaviour or Am i missing something here?

Windows Vista home premium has reverted to old format - how can i fix this?

On Tuesday I turned on my laptop to discover that windows vista home premium had reverted to the old style. I'm using a Toshiba laptop (Satellite). The toolbars are now grey and the circular start logo has been replaced with the old rectangle, the dialogue
boxes are old style too.
I was prompted to install the service pack 2 which I did smoothly but no change and then today I was prompted to install a further 59 updates which I did and after restarting my laptop still no change.
I've ran a virus check and no threats were found. I've also deleted some stuff off my laptop and tried to clear it out but no change.
I'm not very technicallly minded but would really like this fixed. Any suggestions?

You mean the ones like Windows 2000, where windows and dialog boxes have grey backgrounds and dark blue colour in titlebar?
If yes, somehow the Windows theme might have been switched to Windows Classic.
Right-click an empty area on the Desktop > Personalize. Now select Theme under Personalization. In the
Theme Settings window, select "Windows Vista" theme from the dropdown. Click OK to apply the theme.

Change of Layout/Look and Feel in BI 7 Reports.

This is Prem from NetWeaver Portals.
Currently we have a couple of BI 7.0 reports integrated into portal.
We have also used Portal Themes to alter the Look and Feel of the BI reports with respect to Heading colors, alternate row colors etc. But the scope of changing the Look and feel of BI reports from the Portal theme is very limited.
Is there a way to modify it further from BI's CSS?
Where is this functionality provided in SAP BI 7.0?
We are also interested in changing the Layout of the reports in BI. i.e. unlike the standard BI format of reports as generated from the Web Application designer, we would like to change the layout as well.
How is this layout change carried out? Web Templates?
Kindly spell out a solution for me as I'm not aware of BI

Could yo please explain little detial. how do you changed the look and feel of reports through the portal themes. We are trying to change the colors of the execptions and text box and some more. we have created a custom theme in which we changed the complex formatted table crictal, bad, good colors. when we assigned this theme through personalization to the user, custom theme colors are not seen in the BW report.

11.5.9/OAF 5.7 : how to add new fields in iProc "search results" page

We need to add new fields into iProc "search results" page - "Personalize Self-Service Defn" is et, we can enter the personalization screens (from both the "master" link at top/right page level or from the link above the region) - anyway cannot find how to add new fields. Do we have to go to AK developer and/or XML files or is it feasable from OAF (as it is with 11510) ? TIA.

It depends on what fields you want to add.
1. If Oracle has included the fields, just render them via personalizations
2. If they are brand new fields:
a) you will need to extend the VO (I do not know the exact name).
b) change the query to get your extra db columns if necesary
c) add transient attributes to the VO and map them to b).
d) Then you need to add the items via personalization and map them to the attributes you created in c)

How to disable some "columns to display"?

Hello!
I have one management pack (it's monitor some our network devices), which was written by contractors for our company. This mp have many unnecessary columns in it's view. I deleted some of these <ColumnInfo>
from mp (.xml file). Then I import mp but these columns
have not disappeared.
Can anybody help me? What should I do to remove these columns?
P.S. I know that I can disable them with "Personalize view", but I want to do it
centralized (all of the console users must see these changes).

Since the MP was written by contractors, it is better to contact them edit the column.
Meanwhile, after importing the management pack, please re-create monitor for
a test.

Change font in a PDF document

Hi there!
I would like to change the font on a PDF document 'cause I have to take out some parts of it (copy into a .doc or similar)
The problem is when I do it, the original font is not recognized by text processor (stranges symbols appear).
I´m trying to change the font in Adobe Acrobat Pro, but I can´t edit It; the programm says that (not exactly, ´cause its in Spanish)
"The font change has not be done because the chosen font and the document´s fonts codification are different and It cant be solved."
Clicking on pdf´s properties, I see these fonts:
R11
R277
R677
All them are "personalize" codification and type 3.
I hope some in this forum could help me, ´cause I really need to extract some text of this PDF for work stuff.

I see where you can see fonts in Acrobat 9 Pro under Document Properties. But the poster was trying to help guide you in the right direction. Don't be malicious towards people who are here to HELP you.

Questions on import/export

Hello Everybody,
I am learing the import/export feature of the portal.
I have couple questions
1. Can I import the portal desktop and all the related framework page and theme. Will it be intact after the import?
2.I have a folder in KM with various documents, How shuould I import this folder and after the import are links going break withing the documents?

Hi Suresh,
Yes you can do it using the following procedure.
Go to System Administration > Portal Dispaly > Theme Archive and you can import new theme files.
u will find the new theme listed Under My Themes.
You can use the theme editor to customize the theme too.

Missing post message in client session monitoring

Hi,
I have synchronized creating a record of a data object, in the message monitoring tool appears that the message is processed correctly but if I look the session at the client session monitoring that message did not appears, would appears as post message, right?
Another question, why in the client session monitoring at session information of a one session appears not sorted the synchronization cycle number or date and time? Can I sorted it?
I'm in 7.10 SP11.

Hi,
You see only default columns given by SAP. But you can add additional attributes like direction, message type etc., by going to personalization screen. On extreme right of the table top, you see a couple of buttons. One of them is personalization. Click on that and it opens a pop which shows the list of available fields for display on left side and fields which are already displayed on the right side.
You need to select direction and message type from left and move them to right and save and apply those settings for the user. So from next time, it shows the selected attributes.
Coming to your problem, do you see any messages at all in session monitoring? Without giving any filtering criteria just try to search for all of them in the system. See if you get any entries at all. (If still not displayed then you need to enable session monitoring logs).
The timezone difference could be because the system timezone is set to different timezone than of your current.

What does "BookMark" mean in Query menu

When we run a query, the right click menu has a lot of options, ex: drill down according to , Query Properties, etc along with "BookMark". What does it do? i tried to play with it, but coldn't figure out.

As mentioned here recently, there was a BW Expert earlier in the year explaining how to expand on this.

Nokia 500 Review on Symbian Belle

After the update screen went through, I had my fingers crossed, and despite the screen saying “15 minutes remaining,” the update was finished in about 5 minutes.
Upon startup, there was a line of dots (….) which lighted up on after the other sort of like a loading bar and it was. After the loading came the usual language selection and Ovi suite options (“Create an Ovi Account” “I have an account” and of course “Later.”) after going through the Ovi suite options (literally took 10 seconds) my carrier had charged me about 0.45cents (USD cents) for the tips I had signed up on while I still had Symbian Anna on the device. Nokia suite was installing support software after the phone booted up and after 5 more minutes, I set the date, time and location and I was presented with the home screen. The standard home screen as on other Belle devices with the Flip clock, Ovi Social widget and 4 icons (Camera, contacts, Angry birds [oh yea!] and Maps) at the last widget’s position; at the bottom edge of the screen are menu, call and home screen options. The widgets take a few seconds to load but once they load they don’t lag. The second home screen has “Favorite contacts” widgets and 4 more icons (Messaging, Store, Calendar and Web), the third home screen has a Music player widget and the 4th home screen is blank for the user to customize. Unlike other Nokia/Symbian Belle devices, the Nokia 500 only has 4 home screens as opposed to 6.
The lock screen is similar to the Anna screen and is only redesigned. The Belle home screen allows usage of a background unlike Symbian Anna’s.
Now the menu: unlike Symbian Anna, the menu does not have an applications folder so everything is spread out on the home screen creating a mini mess. Luckily, there is an option to create a new folder in which to put your apps in.
In Symbian Anna, the keypad for ‘Call’ was not very user friendly as the ‘*’ and ‘#’ where not where they would be on a physical alphanumerical keypad, but on Belle, the keypad is identical to the physical one and very responsive.
Apps:
While Symbian Anna lagged on the Nokia 500, Nokia Belle is very smooth. I don’t see any major changes with the camera on the 500 and the quality remains the same. There have been some rumors going around about the Nokia 500 getting HD video with the Belle update but these rumors are not true and the Nokia 500 remains with the usual 640p*313p video. While on Symbian Anna, there was no ‘Gallery’ icon but there is one on Symbian Belle and a separate ‘Videos’ icon is there too for easy access to downloaded videos (yes downloaded videos or those NOT taken with the phone’s camera). The angry birds app is a hugely wanted app for the Nokia 500 and is very identical to the computer version. Actually, it IS the computer version in smaller scale. Symbian Belle still allows the user to kill unwanted applications running in the background by holding down the menu key and clicking the ‘X’ icon. Ovi maps on the device is version 3.06 as predicted and even if not version 3.08, it still gets the job done.
The settings menu is the same and nothing major there too. On Symbian Anna, the Nokia 500 has many themes for different colors but on Symbian/Nokia Belle, the 500 only has one “Nokia Evolve” theme which means the users have to download their own themes for personalization.
Overall, the icons seem a bit smaller especially on the home screen and this makes the phone look abit tiny which it is. The size was not brought out in Symbian Anna but in Belle we can see how small the screen on the phone is compared to devices like the E7, N8 and Nokia 701.
With Symbian Belle, the Nokia 500 is able to really show its 1Ghz processor at work and even if it might not be able to play (fancy) 3D games due to the lack of a OpenGL compatible GPU, it can still allow us to play OpenVG games such as “Asphalt 6: Adrenaline” and “Nuke Defender 3D” available from Ovi store.

Great to see you are a happy user. I have just bought two Nokia 500 phones (another for my wife), upgraded to Belle, and both have the same infuriating problems:
- system crashes half a dozen times a day without any warning (during calls, browsing, text messaging)
- if I change the language for text messages, I cannot type anything (SMS) any more
- when phone goes to sleep, it often won't wake up and I need to remove the battery (after doing this 4-5 times a day one starts to get very frustrated).
I am very disappointed and cannot recommend the phone to anyone. First Nokia that I feel this way with.

Dissapointed with OAF. Trying to extend the OpptySearchVO (Sales module)

Hi all, specially Oracle guys,
I'm trying to extend oracle.apps.asn.opportunity.server.OpptySearchVO to add 2 new columns/attributes to show them in the DashBoard (Sales Module 11.5.10.2)
I've tried many things (even change the .xml by hand), because jdeveloper does not build the .xml files correctly (change names, change the order of the attributes, etc).
Of course, one the things I've done is following the steps of the Dev. Guide to extend vos.
Please, Oracle guys, would you try this challenge, I've extended other vos. without problem but I think this vo. has something that I can't see.
Please, if it is not possible to extend this specific vo. let me know.

Using notepad I've "corrected" the .xml file and after doing the substitution in the .jpx file, and bouncing Apache I get an sql error related to a query not related to the vo.

I also tried other approach. This consists in adding the attributes from the EO, when creating the vo. This does not get error but does not show the attributes when I include them using personalization.
Again, any help would be appreciated.
