There was a virus on my computer. After that i redownloaded itunes and now my ipod is not syncing with itunes. What should i do?

I have the same problem. Right now my iPhone 5S shows 3 instances of the computer to which it is connected under Settings » General » iTunes WiFi Sync. I'm having problems connecting and syncing, and this is probably the cause: the phone chooses one of these connections, and it isn't the one that's actually in use. What's probably happening is that the phone and computer establish a connection using a dynamic IP address, the address becomes "disassociated" due to error, another address is associated, the phone retains each address/link, and each link is displayed as if it represents a separate computer (the fact that the name of the computer is identical is ignored, as the only thing that is considered important is the IP address). But that's all conjecture. More important, I'm not sure how to fix the problem. A network reset doesn't do it.

If you are using automatic syncing, you may need to set up the iPod's Music tab in iTunes.
Select the iPod in iTunes. There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary). Select Music there. This is the Music tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync the iPod with songs. Sync Music is checkmarked for automatic syncing.
If your entire iTunes music library can fit on the nano, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Then, create your selection of songs below. For example, if you want to keep it simple, create a new playlist in iTunes. Put ALL songs you want on the iPod on that playlist, including songs from the newly added music. Back on the Music tab, find and checkmark that new playlist under Playlists.
When you click Apply, your selection of songs on the Music tab syncs to the iPod, replacing its current content. Going forward, any changes that are related to the Music tab settings sync automatically when you connect the iPod, or when you click Sync. So, if there is a playlist with your "iPod songs," you can just update that playlist (add and remove songs) whenever you want; iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes at the next opportunity.

As the title says really. I deauthorized my old computer and therefore i thought that would mean i could sync my ipod, when i authorized my new one but it won't sync to my library on this laptop. why?

I updated itunes and now my songs will not sync from the computer to ipod

I just updated my itunes software and my song will not transfer to the ipod. I tryed a new port but tha seems unlikly because itunes does reconize the ipod it just will not update the songs. I restarted the ipod that did not work so i updated the installed software and refreshed the ipod noe I have no songs because it wiped out the ones that were there from the old sync. I have tryed doing a manual update as apposed to the automatic update but that did not work either. I have tryed turning off my anti virus software but that did not work??? any ideas?

Ive had the same problem and I restored my i-pod then when i hooked up the i-pod it said it was full and asked If I wanted it to select a few songs to put on, i clicked yes thinking It meant it would just put my selected songs on but then it put 675 songs out of the library on when i only have 67 checked. they play wether tehyre checked in the Library or not, is there any way to fix this?

After upgrading to a new iMac 27 my iPhone does not sync with iTunes

After having the Apple Store migrate all my data and programs from an older iMac to a new iMac 27" my iPhone does not sync. After connecting the phone it begins and goes to about steps 3 or 4 and then the "apple" appears indicating it is finished - however new pictures have not been transferred to the phone and updates for apps have not happened. i accadentally deleted my entire library (over 10,000 song) when i was trying to delete an old back up file off an external hard drive. Now when i open I Tunes and connect my ipod, a message says tht my ipod is not synced with this computer. This is the only computer this ipod has ever been synced to, so i don't know how to reconnect the two. I was able to restore all my music to the itunes library, but I lost all my playlists. With your iPod connected to iTunes right->click on it's device name in the left hand pane of iTunes under devices and select Export Playlists.

I've stopped and started the service, and also have performed cold reboots.
Nothing seems to have helped the situation.
