Thinking of leaving BT as new customers get better...

I am out of commitment with bt and tried to sign up for 12 months and avail of new deals, whilst downgrading from infinity 2 to infinity 1. As an existing customer of 20+ years I am quoted more than a new customer which is unfair.

The fact that other ISPs may do the same thing doesn't make it wrong. BT along with all the other ISPs are providing a service in order to make money.
It does make financial sense to the company to offer deals to attract new customers rather than to give discounts to existing customers. There reason for this is the vast majority of existing customers do not check around for better deals and having found them, move their business. So why would any company give a discount to people who are going to stay anyway.
Some people may say "what about customer loyalty" There is no such thing as customer loyalty, it all comes down to the service provided and the cost. The customer falls into one of three groupings a) they are happy with the service and are prepared to pay for it. b) they are not and will move. c) apathy. Loyalty has nothing to do with it.
For everyone who moves because they get offered a  better deal else where there is probably at least the same number who moves to BT for the deal they are offering. It balances out.
If it did make more financial sense to offer discounts to existing customers you can bet that it would be happening.

    Hello.
I just know the muse and I need an organization of customers in alphabetical order. The problem is that you will always get new customers. I need to know how to insert a new customer (square) and it already comes in alphabetical order on the page. The site will be like in the link below, and each client will be a window of these: http://www.connary.com/. I look back.
    A hug, Murilo.

I believe you are referring to thumbnail image rectangles as customers on page ? not exactly customer database ?
You can add rectangle with different effects with mouse rollover state and regarding adding new ones , you would need to do that manually in design mode .
    Thanks,

  • Thinking of leaving BT

    Hi Everyone,
I am thinking of leaving BT, but not sure whether I should or not.
The reason is that my area has been enabled for infinity but I can't get it, I am thinking of moving to Virgin Media to get their 60mb speeds.
Does anyone have past experience of virgin media.
My question is should I stick with my BT 7.5mbps connection and wait till fttp becomes available or just go with Virgin.
    Hope someone can help,
    Many Thanks

  • Follow-up to archived thread "Another Error (I think) In the 12.1 New Features Guide"

I hoped to be able to add a reply to the most recent reply on March 8 in the "Another Error (I think) In the 12.1 New Features Guide" thread (https://community.oracle.com/thread/3526588), but since that thread has been archived, I am doing what was suggested elsewhere: create a new thread referencing the old one. My reply is:
Thank you for your explanation about preferring PDF over HTML. That is perfectly fine and understandable. Also, we very much appreciate your documentation feedback in this forum, and encourage you to continue to report any issues here.
I apologize for not replying much sooner. I either didn't get or overlooked an original notification about "Recent activity" after your reply; otherwise, I would have replied then.

Thanks for that comment. I have sent a pointer to it to the writer for that book. Note that with the New Features Guide, most of the content is automatically drawn from an internal system that tracks projects and features; so if a change is needed, the writer will notify the owner of that content (typically a developer or a product manager) to investigate and (if necessary) modify the underlying data, after which the changed information will be picked up for a future revision of the book.
Also, while anyone is welcome to enter documentation comments in this forum, another option that may be more convenient for comments on specific sections is the Reader Comment area at the bottom of each HTML page (such as http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16655_01/server.121/e17906/chapter1.htm#NEWFT495 for the page containing Section 1.5.9.8). Any comments entered in a Reader Comment area go to someone in our documentation production group, who forwards them to the appropriate writers.
However, if a comment involves multiple HTML pages or books, or if you want the matter to be in a public forum for visibility and searchability, posting in this forum is a good option.

  • What about the 50% extra data for new customers?

I signed up for Verizon HomeFusion 17 days ago.  I copied the following straight off your webpage for new HomeFusion customers:
"New customers to the service will  receive 50% more data allowance for their first 2 full billing cycles.  Requires new 2-year activation."  Why am I getting data usage alerts and my account is only showing 10 GB allotted for this month. My bill shows that I was allotted 15 GB for only two days (1/24-1/25).  It hasn't been two months yet, barely even two weeks.  Who do I contact to get this fixed?

Getting data overage alerts can certainly be concerning flair_2000. Let's get to the bottom of your usage concerns. Customer gets a 50% data bonus on their prorated billing cycle at activation. If you are currently on the 10 GB data plan, with the 50% more data, you will obtain an additional 5GB of data. When is your bill cycle end? Depending on your bill cycle, you will still obtain data usage alerts. For example, the 10 GB of data usage will be prorated depending on when service is activated and your bill cycle ends. The 5GB of extra data will not be prorated.
To view your usage and prevent any overage, you may review your usage online via My Verizon by clicking http://bit.ly/xB4iTc  Should you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

  • Hi there, I'm thinking of buying both a new MacBook Pro and a small 22 inch LED tv for my kitchen... what would I need to be able to use (wireless of course) the tv as a monitor for the new computer? Apple tv? Airport Express? something else? Thanks.

    Hi a,
    http://www.mctiviausa.com/
There has been "talk" on and off of Apple TV doing it (and people have done it with a hack), but I haven't really followed it.
It would be a whole lot cheaper getting an adapter (as needed) and cable and simply pluggin it in when you're in the kitchen.

  • When do customers get charged with a subscription from newsstand?

So I was wondering how this works: When a user subscribes to say a magazine, which is a monhtly subscription. Do they get charged at a set interval or do they get charged when a new issue gets released?
Another related question: If the magazine someone has a yearly subscription suddenly goes under, do the customers get a refund? If so, who needs to pay this?

That would be unlikely for a couple of reasons:
    1. The handset is only 4 days old.
    2. It charges flawlessly using the same cables on every other source - AC wall charger, laptop, PC, BB charging cradle, aan also an AC wall charger plugged into a cigarette lighter inverter! It always works in these scenarios.
The only time it fails (and quite consistently) to charge is when the charging source is a car cigarette lighter USB adapter. And it fails whether you use it in a car or with an AC wall cigarette lighter converter.
Please take a look at my other post from last night - I described all the things I tried.
If u still feel it is my handset, I would appreciate a referral to at&t. Minimally, I would like to try a new handset before replacing this one. It takes a long time to get it configured the way I want it.
    Thanks,
    Ashoke.

  • Loyalty to Existing Customers or New Customers

I've been with U-Verse since 2008 and have always paid my bills on time.  I tried to renew my pricing for a 12 month period and they wouldn't allow me to renew without paying $22 more a month. I called in secret as a potential new customer for a new account set up and ended up getting offered a deal where I'd only pay $16 more a month. Why is AT&T more loyal to a customer who's never made a payment compared to someone who's always made their payments on time and has spent over $11k over the past 8 years? No solution after talking to multiple disconnects department managers. Oh.. worse part is.. even disconnects group after multiple times calling giving me different pricing.  These people are a joke.

The new customer promotions are just that......to lure new customers.  I have a friend that has a different provider every year.  He will get Time Warner Cable for a year under contract, then Uverse, then DircTV, etc.  He just rotates to whomever will give him the best deal for a one year contract.

  • How to calculate New customers and Returning customers in a Pivot Table?

    Hi,
I have a Pivot table with columns as Order Date, Customer Name, Qty, Cost, Freight, Invoice, Adv Payment. I have only 30 customers and 11000 transactions for 4 years sales period.
How to calculate New customers and Returning customers in Pivot Table for any given Month or Quarter or Year. I am open to use helper column, formula or a calculated field etc
    Thanks
    Arjun

    Hi Arjun,
I have received the file and read it, based on your further explain, I know your requested more clarity. In my view, the requested could be done via VBA code or Select function in other dataset, like Access/SQL. (Because before we count the new
customer and return customer, we might to filter them via rule, the formula need to assign the customer one by one. So, it's inefficient)
Thus, I recommend we try the above workaround: Use macro or Select function in Access. If you have further question about the coding, please post to the MSDN forum for Excel

  • What do i need to do if my new Ipad gets wery  warm and wery  uncomfortable to hold?

What do i need to do if my new Ipad gets wery warm and uncomfortable to hold?

leave it on flat surface where air can circulate. don't leave it on couch or sofa or wherever that trap heat. if you  have iPad cover, open it.
if the heat won't get any cooler, return the iPad and get a new one.

  • Sky Contract coming to an end.. Offers for new customers

Hi My Sky Fibre contract is finally coming to an end after nearly 2 years!!  I've noticed on the sky website that they offer new customers 6 months free but when asking sky if they would match that they wouldn't.  Now I dont wish to pay for a product that new customers can get for free for 6months while I continue to be skys fibre guinne pig and continue to help subsidies these deals. So what I plan on doing is cancelling my contract and then get my partner to take it out as a 'new customer' . The question is, will there be a break in service for something as simple as a name change? or will we be without internet for 14+ days? thanks

I've been with Sky and BT for (FTTC) BT BB at the moment Sky for TV. I always change at the end of the contract as you get good deals as a new customer with the next ISP. Zen Fibre are looking good at the moment for me next month £25 for 76Mbps etc.... And if you don't want a landline £4.50 a month so £29.5 "HAPPY DAYS"NO... it's £4.50 extra per month if you don't take a land line from Zen.you still need line rental from someone, so if you take it from Zen you don't pay the extra £4.50pm for the FTTC service.

  • Am I the only one angry that they just offered new customers $39.99 per month?

why do first year customers not get a "Loyalty" break for paying $49.99 for a year

Have you ever received a DirecTV flyer in the mail?
Offering new customers a discount to get them to sign up is an OLD tactic in just about every industry
