Thinkpad T420 GPU usage always shows 100% in Power Manager

Did anyonce face the same problem before?
Mine was a i7 2620M+HD3000 T420. When I open the power manager, I fount my CPU usage is around 30~40% and my GPU uasage is 100% stable... I didnt open any game when I open the power manager. Anyone know whether its ok?
BTW, when I watch film on this laptop. The CPU temperture could raise to 90 celsius...

Hi there!
What you describe is not normal behaviour, something is running in the background and is using up resources.
I suppose you are running Windows 7? You can search for the process (program, driver etc) that is causing the usage if you press CTRL+ALT+DEL and select "Task Manager". On the tab "Processes" select "Show processes from all users", then click on the header "CPU" to sort them by CPU usage. See if you recognize the name of the process that is using up your CPU/GPU resources, it might be an antivirus or, conversely, a malicious program. Upload a screenshot if you can.

  • My PSAPTEMP tablespace always show 100% Full or Used

    Dear All ,
Using brtools my tablespace PSAPTEMP always show 100% full or Used, I extend 2 Gb size in PSAPTEMP tablespace but still no solution
Please guide me why it always shows 100% used and what is the performance impact on that
    Regards
    Shahid

    Hello Shahid,
    > Please guide me why it always shows 100% used and what is the performance impact on that
This is a normal behaviour in case of a temporary tablespace.
If you do sorts, hash-joins, etc. which can not be done in memory-only you allocate extents in the temporary tablespace. If you finish your query, that temporary extents will be marked as free but they still kept allocated. So over the uptime of your database your temporary tablespace will be filled by allocated (but marked as free) extents .. and so you will see it as "full". You can also check the current "real" usage of your temporary tablespace by the view V$TEMPSEG_USAGE:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/dynviews_2164.htm#i1421319
The temporary extents will be deallocated by a database shutdown or by a database start, if the database crashed before.
If you don't get any ORA-01652 by your query .. everything is fine.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • My mac wireless keyboard always shows 100-percent charge when its not

How do I allow my iMac to correctly show the battery level of my Mac wireless keyboard?
It always shows 100-percent, which is wrong most of the time.
It reads and shows my Mac wireless mouse battery level correctly.

    It's a bug.

  • My iPad 3 always shows 100% battery

My iPad 3 always shows 100% battery and suddenly it gets off post complete discharge.

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Magic Mouse battery always shows 100%

Since upgrading to Mac 10.6.7, The preference window for the magic mouse always shows 100%.
After installing MagicPrefs free drivers, (because Apples' sensitivity settings suck), MagicPrefs show
a more accurate level of 84%. What gives here Apple? Are you letting the competition beat you at
your own game? I'm getting disgusted with Apple's lack of support, fixes and updates to reported problems.

From my troubleshooting, it seems it's specific to the individual mouse.
I have two Magic Mice on my desk, one for a MB Pro and one for an iMac.  The "trouble" Magic Mouse, which always shows "100%" AND frequently disconnects, did so in 10.6 and 10.7. on my MB Pro.
I thought maybe the Bluetooth module on my MB Pro was bunk--so I swapped mice and took the "stable" Magic Mouse on the iMac and paired it with my MB Pro--no problems.  The "trouble" Magic Mouse, formerly on the MB Pro, now on the iMac--exhibits the exact same problems--it seems to be the specific mouse, not the OS or Bluetooth modules on either host computer.  Hope this helps.  I guess I'll be making a trip to the Apple Store to see if they can fix/replace my "trouble" Magic Mouse...

  • Lenovo K 900 --Battery charge indicator always shows 100 %

A strange issue after firmware upgrade in lenovo K 900 , When I charged to 100  % , the phone always shows 100 % charge . It is not getting updated and after using for 6-7 hrs the phone gets switched off without any notice . Now I can charge again and this time the battery charge indicator shows correctly . but again the same issue is seen if the phone is charged to 100 % .

Let it die all the way down, to recalibrate the battery, and then fully recharge.  See if that helps.

  • Is Mountain Lion 10.8.1 Causing GPU Usage to be 100% (iStat Menus)?

I'm running a Macbook Pro (8,2) with a 2.3GHz Core i7 Processor, 16GB of Ram, 480GB OWC SSD, High-Res Screen (BTO).  I just upgraded to Mountain Lion from Lion, and now notice that iStat Menus is reporting 100% GPU usage.  Is anyone else seeing this?  It never decreases; always stays at 100%.  There seems to be quite a bit of chatter about this over at MacRumors forums and MacUpdate.  Based on their Twitter feed, Bjango seems to believe that this is a Mountain Lion issue/bug.
    Anyone else seeing this?

It is an issue of iStat. On my iMac with the same GPU it show also 100%. But Open GL Driver Monitor show about 13%.

  • Why does my trackpad always show 100% in system preferences?

I read where someone is having the exact problem but with the keyboard instead. A widget was suggested as a work around but is it a problem with Lion or is there something else I could do to fix it. Thanks

It always reads 100% period. It never changes.
I can only hope Apple read these things and look into it.
    Thanks anyway.
Do try uk-max's suggestion. Othewise, keep an eye on the battery level that does work so you don't wind up with a dead battery and can't re-pair it (because the battery is dead.....).
FWIW, Apple is aware of the issue; I sent in a bug report - I've heard of several being stuck at 57%, some at 100%. On mine, it was always the wrong percentage showing in the Bluetooth menu bar.
For anyone else: we are not discussing laptop batteries, but the battery level of the magic trackpad (or mouse, for that matter) - both are bluetooth, both have batteries, and there has been a problem showing the correct battery level for both.

  • HP USV R5500 XR doesn't show the HP Power Manager screen

    Hi folks,
I'm working on following problem. A HP USV R5500 XR connected to a HP ProLiant ML350 G3 with OS MS Windows Server 2003 SP2 and HP Power Manager 4.2 is not showing anymore the HP Power Manager sreen. In the task bar down right there is the battery with the green sign for successful intallation and communication. When I want to configure the HP PM, there i no problem, the USV is recognized after a few seconds. When I want to connect to the USV, I get in the Internet Explorer the error message, the website cannot be shown.
I have allready resetted the electronic module of the USV (press the alarm button, pull out the module, wait 30 seconds, press and hold the alarm button, push back the module.
Are there any more options for testing the USV? How can I state with a high possibility, that the electronic module of the USV is defective?
    Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Markus (on a sunny Saturday in my office in Munich one mile away from Hofbrauhaus)

  • Magic Mouse Battery Level Always Shows %100?!?

    Hi,
I'm using Mavericks and I still have this bug. I tried unpairing and pairing it again but didnt work. Any suggestions?
(Please dont suggect me to use anotuher 3rd party software...)
    Thank you

    1. Rechargeable batteries are different: the voltage stays practically the same untill the end of the charge, then they steeply fall to "empty".
    2. You may have a not too healthy battery (happens sometimes). When the magic mouse or the cordless keyboard do not work well, changing the battery for a new one often solves the problem, even if the battery inside is "full".

  • My Ipad has been unplugged for 10 hours, but it is still showing 100% battery power, I did update to iOS 6 on release day.

Is this just a bug in the new iOS for iPad 2? Cause I also updated my iPhone 4S to iOS and it shows proper battery levels. Any one else having this issue? If so is it a known issue?

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!
Also, just use your iPad until it drains of power and then recharge it. It might sort out the glitch!

  • Automatically optimize for battery lifespan charges the batt to 100% in Power Manager settings

Whats crazy about my system is I did a complete driver update with the lenovo update and I still dont have the option for Automatically optimize for battery lifespan. It never shows in my options please someone help me to get this option so I wont burn out my battery. Here is the link to my screen shot http://screencast.com/t/aOvXEJfLnmSm thank you

    Hi Shaggy2626,
    Thank you for the reply!
There are no additional settings for that, only thing we have to check with setting the BIOS to factory default. To proceed with that go to BIOS and press F9 to set factory default setting and F10 to save and exit.
Uninstall the current version which you have installed and download the application from the below link, it might be little older version. But I have checked with my T430 and its working fine for me.
    http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/n14u403w.exe
    Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue still persists.

  • OS v2.2 Battery indicator always shows full until device dies.

After I upgraded to version 2.2 of the OS on my iPhone 3G, my battery indicator is always showing 100% charge. After a full day of normal usage, the iPhone just died with a dead battery. I didn't even get the usual warning when the battery was at 20%.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

That problem has been around for a while. If you now give it a full charge, you will (most likely) have solved the problem. It sort of fixes itself most of the time simply by running the phone down all the way, then recharging all the way.
It calibrates the charge measuring circuit.
    Post back if it persists.

  • T420 and windows 8(.1) power manager

As a two-year user of the T420 I am quite used to the power manager and its extended options. When I tried Windows 8 a couple of months ago I noticed that there were only the standard windows power management options available. Mind you, they worked fine, but they weren't near as good as the power manager of Lenovo.
My question is whether or not this functionality (power manager) is available for windows 8(.1) or will be available in the future?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is no ThinkVantage Power Manager for Windows 8.
Power Plans and idle timers are managed by the OS itself.
Lenovo-specific power options like Battery Stretch and 30-Day Standby can be configured in Lenovo Settings.
What specific feature of Power Manager do you think you're missing on Win8?

  • Satellite C670D-10W - Task manager shows 100% CPU usage

My brand new laptop with factory installed windows 7 and all programs by Toshiba nothing addded shows 100% processor usage in task Manager and works pretty slow. The sum of 80 odd processes shown in task manager never reaches more than 30-50 % but bottom line is always 100%.
Tried process hacker 2, shows same processes as task manager.
    What can be the problem?

If you check this forum you will see that you can find many threads with the same or similar content. Many people have noticed the same after notebook purchase, especially phenomena that notebook is pretty slow. Just without panic. What you must do is to optimize preinstalled operating system.
    What can be the problem?
Brand new notebook is preinstalled with original Toshiba recovery image. This recovery image contains operating system, all necessary drivers, different Toshiba specific tools and utilities and some additional software like preinstalled McAffe or Norton antivir.
Many of these tools, utilities and additional software will start with operating system and run in the background. To be honest some of them can be deactivated, some of them can be also removed from the system. By default Windows update is set to automatic so when you go online all available windows updates will be installed automatically in the background and this will happen without your knowledge. This updates installation will make your HDD pretty busy and notebook operations will be slowed down.
I recommend you to change this option and set it to Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install.....
I hope you understand what I want to say and if you have more questions you are welcome.
