Third party PDF Reader

I was wondering if someone will be able to assist. I have created a PDF using Livecycle Designer and the form was tested on Acrobat and Adobe reader, and all is working accordingly.
But the problem arised when a client opened the form using a third party reader, e.g Foxit Reader, and nothing seem to work properly.
What I would like to know is, is there scripting that can be used to detect the reader being used to fill the form? And how can I prevent or rather restrict the user to only utilize Adobe Reader or Acrobat for filling the PDF form?

I appreciate your response. I read through the thread and in my case I already had a page that would be visible if and only if the reader or acrobat being used to view the form is less than version 10.
I also added script app.viewerType and when the form is opened in Adobe Acrobat it returns "Exchange-Pro", when it is opened in Adobe Reader it returns "Reader", and funny enough even when opened in Foxit, it returns "Reader".
Based on your thread "See my answer in this thread", you stated that the script app.viewerType detects if you are in Adobe products (I stand corrected). If that's the case, I would like to ask a dumb question. Is Foxit an Adobe product?
Another thing app.viewerVersion on Adobe Reader and Acrobat detects version 10.103 and Foxit version 10.
P.S. Just to keep you at par with the form that I am working on, it's a dynamic form and it includes pdf417 barcode.
Some JS do not kick in on Foxit and the barcodes are not visible at all.

Can anyone out there recommend any good third party software that would make large PDF small and retain decent quality?
I am unable to achieve what I am looking for with the PDF optimizer and was wondering if there are any other programs out there that compress PDF's.

I think Pitstop could do some optimizing, but Acrobat 9 is really quite good. You just really need to tweak the settings on a file by file basis.

Third Party Codecs Issue

In OSX 10.9 Mavericks, Apple has decided that it currently does not support 3rd party codecs for the system players. This is a huge problem for me! I am a VJ and the software that I use (Resolume) uses DXV codec. I have Terrabytes of footage in this format which will now not play in Quicktime or quicklooks in Finder. This is obviously a serious problem for a video artist such as myself, rendering the new OS practicaly unusable! I just bought this computer for my visual projects! I am requesting respectfully that Apple fixes this serious oversight, and allow 3rd party codecs immediately.

Awful, I've experienced the same. I work with dxv as well, this is a shame. It's crazy. I work with video all the time and I'm always previewing with quicklook and quicktime.
We are professionals, not home users, making a living on those machines and systems, you can't change such an important thing without notice (I read everything before upgrading, but discovered this when working).
Please open again third party codecs.

How to crawl a SharePoint website in third party program like 'search daemon'

I'm trying to setup a search engine in our organisation, which can search data from several databases.
While connecting to SharePoint site & crawling I'm getting below error.
"Service description
'http://'domain name'\'User ID':'Password'@'server IP'/http://'server name'/sites/default.aspx/_vti_bin/Webs.asmx?WSDL' can't be loaded: 404 Not Found"
(I have replaced actual data with their 'attributes' as I cant share Organisational data. 'Sorry for inconvenience').
Then I have set up an separate server of SharePoint 2007 for Testing & tried same way that time it was giving 401 No Authorization error.

I don't think it is possible to refer to cell in excel using jdbc, since jdbc is intended to communicate with mostly database in generic way. So you have to use queryStrings to update or retive cell info.
The only way to access them by cell name is possibly by using some third party tools.

Hi Experts,
I know SAP IDM 7.0 can integrate with third party systems and create user ids on most of the third party systems.
But I need to know regarding If it is possible to integrate with following systems
1) Microsoft Exchange 2007 ( I know till exchange 2003 SAP IDM support )
2) Microsoft Active directory 2008 ( I know till Actice directory 2003)
3) EMC Documentum 6.5
4) ARIS 7.1.0
5) BlackBoard, Release 9.0
6) Oracle 10g ( Is it possible to create users at oracle level ? or at what level ? )
7) Sun Solaris Sparc ( Is it possible to create users at OS level )
If you have information how on this please share. I know that provisioning framework will have templates for most of the target systems. I want to know if they are available for above systems on SAP IDM 7.0 or if not have we can connect to them?

You mean that there will be oracle 10g drivers/oledb connectors in SAP IDM and in through SQL commands like "create user alfredo identified by alfredos_secret; " we can create user in oracle database ?. As you said this should be possible. What about creating user( user management ) in oracle 10g application like dba or scot and assigning the privileges in oracle application?

You mean that Unix scripts will be defined in SAP IDM and SAP IDM will execute these scripts in the Sun Solaris Sparc ?. It should be possible as you said. By the way how we will be able connect to Sun Solaris sparc ? Is it via the option "file " under the "Repositories" with repositories wizard and later executing the file from SAP IDM ?

Third party tools to extend Webi graphic capabilities

All,
Is any one aware or uses any good third party plug-ins to extend webi charts/graphic capabilities?
We are looking for a plug-in that will help us extend webi charting or in general report formatting capabilities.

Webi currently has limited charting options. For e.g: You cannot have a stacked vertical chart with a line chart.

Well I saw this Centrios charger for $20 where you can plug in your iPod and hook it up to the wall power outlet so you can charge it without having to have your computer on.
1) Does this void any Apple warranties?
2) Is there a chance that this charger could do anything of harm to my iPod?
3) Would I be better off getting the official Apple charger? (No biased answers, please.)

You find third-party apps in the App Store. What app are you looking for? Due to problems, Apple removed the ability to record that information in Health. You can always go back to whatever you used before three weeks Health was released. Why can you not check and record your blood glucose? I would assume you check it using blood samples and a glucose meter which has nothing to do with your phone. You should be able to record it in any number of apps, from Notes to purpose made third-party apps.

Third party html editor-allow google analytics to work on iWeb

I want people to find me via google search, so need to get inside frame of iWeb. Apple tech told me there is no access to the iWeb source file. Is there a third party html editor that I can use in front of iWeb? With apologies for an unsophisticated question.

This is where someone else might have better advice, but as far I know, iWeb doesn't create "frames." It creates basic pages that can be catalogued by a search engine. Unless there's something about the template you're using that's creating frames within pages that are hard to search - not sure if that's the case - but perhaps that's what you're referring to.
In summary, I think iWeb is too templated to allow google viewing and I will need to ftp my site to an outside third party.
Reading your description of what you're trying to do, it does sound like it would work better on a 3rd party host. For lack of a better word, sites with "heft" do better on a 3rd party host.
Also, I've found that as much as you can keep things simple in iWeb, the better they are overall, the more universally compatible with other browsers like IE and - in my opinion - the better they look.
I stay away from ginned up themes and, using basic pages as a starting point, have made a few iWeb sites that are quickly found and catalogued by the search engines, and are universally compatible with all browsers.
Is TextWrangler akin to WordPress?
No. TextWrangler is a document editor (like Microsoft word) that is optimized for opening up and editing html files.
After you publish to a folder but before you FTP up to your host, opening up the html files iWeb generated using TextWrangler allows you to tweak the html code. There are some programs that will automatically "optimize" the pages for you as well. If you prefer to access the html and edit them yourself, TextWrangler works well and is free. For example, if there is an image of an author, there is an associated (blank by default) "alt" field that you could fill in with the author's name. This helps a search engine understand what the image is.

It depends on the application that is providing the API. As
you are probably aware that CF is all java under the hood so if the
"Contant Contact" is build in Java/Groovy, it can be easily
utilized by CF. Othewise in CF8, you can call .Net assemblies. Web
Services are always an option to access any third party
applications. Essentially CF is very ready to integrate with most
third party applications.
