Thunderbolt glitching randomly

My new TBD was just arrived, and all was good. But after few days something like this happened: http://youtu.be/nszk5rQtkTY and it repeats always after few minut after TBD connect and TB socket is very hot.
After glitching screen goes black, but all peripherals plugged to TBD work fine and display is still connected in preferences.
I tried: reseting SMC, completly reinstal Mavericks, the same things..   But what i notice, during mavericks instalationa (about 1.5h) and when i recover some apps - TBD was work fine. Last thing was Creative Clud apps, photoshop, illustrator, after effcts. - Glitch returned
I don't know what to do, is this TBD problem or graphic card? Maybe someone had similar problem?

  • Audio Glitching Randomly

    Hi -
    I'm having an issue whereby (seemingly randomly) the audio on my machine starts glitching and stuttering - sometimes it's more like popping / clipping noises (but very intrusive) and other times it sound like there's an echo which repeats very briefly everything in the audio, which comes across like a stuttering effect.
    It happens in iTunes, Quicktime Player, VLC, youtube, previewing audio in Finder etc 
    The only place this doesn't happen at all (which is pretty fortunate) is Logic X - which always behaves totally fine - I assume this could be a clue for someone that may point to the issue?! Funnily enough in looking at an old session on Logic 9, it does do the stuttering there....
    I'm using an Apogee Duet audio interface, all the drivers are up to date, as is all the software on the Mac.
    I'm not sure what triggers the issue, but frequency-wise it may happen 4 times during a movie - and it then irons itself out and is totally fine...(but during the melt down it's unbearable!)
    Any help at all would be very gratefully received, I have to find a way to fix this issue!
    I've seen similar posts on other forums, but no solutions....

  • Since Update to ICS, Thunderbolt Restarts randomly, instantly draining battery by 80%

    I am thrilled that the HTC Thunderbolt was finally OK'd for the update to Ice Cream Sandwich... and the operating system update is everything I had hoped for.  My issue that I can't figure how to fix is that the phone will randomly restart while I am in the middle of doing anything.  Obviously, this can be frustrating, especially if I were in the middle of actively using the phone
    What I find especially disturbing is the battery charge status before and after these random resets.... A lot of times, these resets occur while I have a mostly charged battery... This morning, after one reset, the battery full % was immediately reduced to 9% (In the RED)... whoa.. from a single reset?  Seems way off... I was at least 80-90% full prior... I cannot imagine that a single restart would drain the battery so much...
    Something is off.  Am I the only one experiencing these issues? (Random phone restarts and massive battery power loss after said restart)

    Now I am noticing an issue with SIM Card... about every 3-4 restarts, the phone is giving me a message stating that it the phone is activating (AGAIN) and that I have to wait for another restart after 2 minutes... this planned restart never occurs... Now I can't tell if the issue is related to the Ice Cream Sandwich update or something else... Of note, I did just receive this refurbished phone on account of the OTA software update for Ice Cream Sandwich would not apply correctly...  Are the problems related to Ice Cream Sandwich, a battery, a refurbished phone, a SIM card... I just can't narrow down issue... This is my second refurbished phone that I am having difficulty with, so I am sincerely hoping this is not the issue as it paints a bad image towards the reliability of any reburbished phone...     I am having the same issue with my TB and again ever since the ICS Update. I have never had any issues with my TB until they forced me to update to the ICS.. My phone is in top reselling shape I invest in my phone and I protect it (Seido Hard case and screen protector) I went to bed and woke up with the new ICS and now my phone will be fully charged and I will be using the Internet or even on Facebook and the phone just shuts off. When I try to power it back up the phone notification light is now blinking orange and the phone is beeping at me. If the phone does restart fully (sometimes it will just shut right back off again) The battery is between 4%and 8%. If I plug my phone in when it is booting up it will come right on. But it will not shut off when it is plugged in to an outlet or usb no matter how much i am using it then. I also noticed when it shuts down like this it when it is on the "Network or Verizon Service" it will not shut down unplugged on a WI-Fi connection. I did the battery pull and even went to the factory reset (I hated to do it but did) and still having issues.
    I am on the old unlimited data plan. I called Verizon tech support the first lady said oh we can replace it and she would put it under a factory warranty but she had to get me to Level 2 Tech support. I spoke with a Josh there and I told him I did all the steps that they were going to ask me to do (battery pull and factory reset etc..) He asked how long I have had my phone and I explained to him that I have had it all most two years and I have never ever had an issue like this and told him that I have been on here reading posts about people having problems after the ICS update. He then proceeded to tell me there was nothing he could do for me. I explained to him that I did not cause this issue that the update did. That I never know when my phone will just turn off and come on with a low battery. The only thing he told me was that I could re-new my contract and get a new phone... I was like NOOOO I am not paying for data when I had a perfectly good working phone until you (verizon) pushed this update out and of course I get well it wasn't verizon they don't make the software for it blah blah blah.... It an HTC software issue ... But when you call HTC they tell you its a Verizon issue!!! Why can't anyone own up to a problem??? This is isn't right what these companies do to people. You know I could see if I the customer did something to my phone to cause this problem fine shame on me and I would then have to get a new phone with the new contract. BUT I DID NOTHING TO MY PHONE TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE!!!!  THEY DID now they tell me my phone is out of warranty and I have to get a new one even though it was their update that caused this issue... NOT RIGHT!!!!  I am beginning to think they did this to the unlimited data customers to make them get a new phone so they can make their money from the new contracts in the data usage???
    Well that's my two cents worth I am not very happy with all this and of course we as consumers have to put up with company's like these. I even called a lawyer and he told me that company's like this you can't even find an address to write to to file a complaint and they will keep refusing to help you until you just break down and do as they say like buy a new phone out right or like for me to re-new my contract and pay now for data usage. Also unfortunately there is not much other choices for cell phone company's here in Maine or the coverage of service. Verizon right now has the best coverage then all the others and better phones. If I had great Sprint coverage I would switch to them for their unlimited services..

  • AMD/ATi with xf86-video-ati is glitching (random frame hang)

    I've asked #archlinux about this multiple times to no avail. Also, I can't find anything on the Wiki about an issue like this.
    Basically my computer hangs for around a 8th-4th second or so about every 20-40 seconds. The hang is visual only (i think), meaning no audio glitches or network glitches (that I'm aware of). I have a OpenGL test writing out frame rate, and during the hang the FPS consistently drops from 61 to 51. No CPU spikes are visible in the System Monitor, so my guess is that it's video driver related.
    Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I have an overclocked ATi graphics card (specs below) so I'm thinking that's probably related to the issue. Any help is very welcome.

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 Screen Glitch / Random Things Hap...

    So it's kind of hard to explain, but my lumia 1520 was fine when I first got it, but sometimes I can't press anything on the screen, and there are times where bing search will just activate, or it will open up the "listening" function, or it willl just do crazy things. like it's being "hacked" haha. I know it's not, but it just gets so glitchy, i've tried soft reset, and hard reset, and have restored from backup, and nothing seems to work, I recently restored from a backup from several months ago with my old lumia 1020. so far so good, but it will probably start to glitch out again. I don't want to resort to "start afresh as a new phone" because i'm pretty sure you will lose everything? like..contacts and things? hope someone has an answer or has had similar troubles

For the best experience with the Lumia 1520 touch screen, in case you have the same phone model, we encourage you setting the touch sensitivity to normal. To change touch sensitivity, select Settings > touch > Touch sensitivity > Normal. We're hoping that your phone's performance improved by doing it. All the best!

    and after one yr, the whole screen start glitching randomly like ****,

    You should take your machine back to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them fix the screen. It may be a screen problem, a GPU problem or a cable problem. They can test and give you a 'cure.'

  • Gnome - severe graphical glitches, entire DM crashing

    For some time, most applications dealing with images started producing glitches - random misplaces rectangles and pixels being copied from the right side of the screen to the left and vice versa. This includes GIMP and Eye Of Gnome - it's almost impossible to work with images like this. Some other applications also cause the "pixel copying" behavior, such as SDL/OpenGL games and Wine.     In addition, the entire Gnome crashes seemingly randomly. First I see a tty with the mouse cursor still visible and working, then I'm thrown back to GDM.
    I think those issues are related, because Gnome tends to crash more often when I'm trying to reproduce the glitches.
    Should I paste the logs somewhere? Which ones?

    Apple - Feedback
    Have seen similar lines and artifacts on Safari on my 13" MBP.  It's a software bug and based on your additional findings, linked to bad drivers for the Intel 4000 chipset.  File your findings with Apple on that Feedback page for your respective system.  Make sure you provide all the info like you did here.  Someone will eventually see it and add it to the engineering things to fix if it hasn't already been addressed in the soon to be released 10.8.3 build.

  • Rendering/Exporting Glitches in 3D Projects

    Quite a few problems from MOTION 3 have been solved thanks to the 3.0.1 update, but unfortunately, many remain.
    When trying to export 3D projects, the render engine produces glitches throughout the sequence that appear as "jagged black and or white diagonal lines". These "glitches" randomly appear when objects overlap on screen, and not neccesarily just when interacting with each other in 3D space, but simply moving in front of each other. I have tried every render/export setting I can think of, but they occur every time, just in different places depending on the settings. They really destroy an otherwise beautiful sequence, and I can not figure out how to get rid of them. Apple needs to overhaul the rendering engine, as it is faulty.
    The other problem I am still having is crashing while exporting. I constructed a 3D project with many layers of overlapping 3D box-shaped objects, replicators, and lights, all swirling about in 3D space. It took me about 3 weeks of working on the project to get it exaclty the way I wanted it, and it never crashed while working on it. When I finally finished it, I rendered the entire 30 second sequence in RAM just to make sure everything looked right. It rendered fine and played back fine. I was ready to do a final high quality export. It began exporting in BEST quality and 16 bit float, to a DV NTSC quicktime movie. It was slow to export, but it was working...until it came to the 3/4 mark. CRASH! Motion quit, and 3 hours of exporting lost. I split the sequence into 3 smaller sections, and began exporting them. The first two exported fine. I started the exporting process on the third, and no picture preview of the frame appeared, and it was stuck on "exporting 1 of 854", where it should have jumped to frame 676 of 854. It stayed that way for about an hour, and then crashed. I tried numerous times with mostly the same results, although I was able to export even smaller sections until I had most of it complete. It took two days to finally get it to export to completion.
    I noticed that often when the exporting process crashed, the actual program did not, and the 3D object it had stopped rendering on was now made up of ORANGE SHAPES...which was the problem that was supposed to have been fixed in the 3.0.1 update. I had to quit Motion and re-open it to get the object back to normal.
    Ha anyone else had any of these problems, and are there ANY workarounds when exporting DOES NOT WORK? Trying to bring the project into Final Cut was a bust cause it made it crash faster than Motion did. It would freeze and crash on the same part of the sequence that made it crash in Motion.

    Don't know if this will help you but...
    I had a rendering problem in that a line of text would not appear in a piece exported via Compressor.
    to get around it, I opened the motion project file directly in a Quicktime player, exported as a regular .mov and then put that into compressor to give the settings I wanted. worked like a treat

    My phone is not working the way it did before the manditory iOS 7 update.  It freezes, it lags, I get kicked out of my apps, my messages do not send half of the time, I can't view the pictures in my camera roll if I enlarge them, and the phone glitches randomly.  How can this be fixed or what do I need to do to get it replaced??

  • Burned a disc in Encore, plays fine on DVD player, but not in Windows Media

    Hi,
    I was just wondering if anyone else has had playback issues in Windows Media Player with DVDs burned in Encore.  We recently produced a 14 minute film that plays skip free and glitch free on any standalone DVD player we test it in, but when we test it in a PC using Windows Media Player at 12 minutes in the picture starts glitching, random artifacts appear distorting what we see.  It doesn't skip, but it does introduce these glitches and artifacts all the way until the end.
    We thought it might be a good idea to play the DVD on a different DVD program, so we used PowerDVD and it plays PERFECTLY.  So, that means it's a Windows Media Player problem.  We tested the DVD on multiple PCs using Windows Media Player and the same thing happens.  We even tested other copies of the DVD and the SAME THING HAPPENS!
    What's most frustrating is that we can't control how people are going to view the film.  We've already had our client come back to us after watching it on his PC using Media Player and ask us why the "movie was skipping."  Obviously, it wasn't skipping, just introducing those weird glitches.  Is there something I can do in Encore to ensure playbackability in Windows Media Player?

    Windows Media Player has undergone some changes over the last several versions. For a period, there was no DVD play at all. It was rumored that MS had removed that, to keep burned pirated commercial DVD's from playing. It is likely that what functions that have been put back into WMP are causing the issues. The issues that you describe sound a bit like some form of attempt to impose "copy protection," onto burned discs. [Just a thought on my part, as I have no facts to back that up.]
    Have not tried any DVD in WMP 12, so have no direct help there.
    As you point out, there is no control as to what software players people will likely use. Not sure how to handle that from your end. Maybe others will have definitive answers, regarding WMP 12, and your exact problem. I would also *guess* that the same would likely happen with any burned DVD, regardless of the software used. Maybe test Burn to Folder and use freeware ImgBurn to experiment?

  • Does iTunes check in any way to be sure a download is clean?

    I've purchased a few TV shows with 'glitches' (random static or pixelizations), though none of them have lasted more than a second or two.
    I know that iTunes allows only one download of each purchase. Given that, I would have thought that it would do some sort of hash count check or some sort of verification that the download is clean. Is this a bad assumption?
    So what happens if you buy a song or video and it turns out to be unplayable because of download problems?

    Hash counts and such just help confirm that a file has downloaded completely and hasn't been corrupted in download. It doesn't help with video encoding errors, which are what most such pixelization and static glitches are (for instance, using too high a compression rate for the action on the screen). The only fix for such problems is for the content owner to re-encode the video, so as Chris suggested you need to let the iTunes Store know about the problem so they can go to the owner and request a new copy.
    The "Report a problem" link in your Purchase History that Chris suggested hasn't proven to be very reliable. You might instead contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of their web page and explain the problem to them that way.

  • Mountain Lion/ Safari/Netflix

    I updated to mountain lion and have not been able to watch netflix since. Everytime I try to stream, it tells me that I need silverlight. I download silverlight and it still does not work. I uninstall all silverlight and try again and it still does not work. I repeated this multiple times and netflix keeps telling me that I need silverlight. Any ideas?

    I guess I am lucky, I can uninstall and then re-install silverlight and netflix will play but then the next time I go to watch something I have to do it all over again... I called Netflix who says they usually have to recommend people switch to Safari from Firefox when their customers have this issue... Safari is also glitching randomly with large chunks of the screen being drawn blank or incorrectly, I suspect it is a Safari issue but why only a few people have it IDK..

  • Can i get an early upgrade?

    I have a thunderbolt than randomly reboots and freezes frequently. Is there any chance verizon will let me upgrade early? I'm not due until november and I really don't want to do craigslist or ebay.

    Considering the phone hasn't been out a year yet you should be able to get a warranty replacement. I got one a few months back for my wife's Thunderbolt because the charging port wasn't working.  I couldn't tell it from a brand new device

  • Burnt up GeForce 6800 Ultra NX6800 Ultra-T2D256

    Ive got a MSI K7N2G-ILSR, AMD XP 2200+, 2*256 DDR RAM, Antec Truecontrol 500w PSU, and of course the grpahics card described above!
    Ive bought this card exactly 9 days ago (Received it 2 days ago). Installation was a breeze, i was playing Call Of Duty 2 without any problems, such as glitches, random crashes etc.
    Everything was fine until i left the computer turned on overnight, i was uploading a movie clip on the internet, a hardly demanding task, i am used to leaving the computer turned on all night, as i have owned this setup for the last 2-3 years (without the gfx card obviously), and it has been perfect since.
    Around 4 AM, i awoke, because i was coughing. I could smell some plastic-ish burning smell. Fearing the worst, i realised the smoke was coming from the computer. Since the mains power supply is behind the desk and i cannot reach there quickly, i pushed and held the "On" button. After what seemed two minutes, (In reality it may have been 5 seconds, with the adrenaline, i am not too sure of the timeframe), I ran out of the room, and grabbed the fire extinguisher, that my dad insists on keeping, opened the side of the case as quickly as possible, and gave a shot to the interior of the case. This quickly put out the fire.
    Upon closer inspection, after the power was cut, the Video card is unrecognisable, The PCB is now a hue of burnt black with patches of the original green where it wasnt affected much by the fire, also, the graphics card is permanently bonded into the Graphics Card Slot now.
    Thankfully, no-one has been injured because of this incident.
    As of today, i am still at the conclusion, the graphics card must have had a major fault, as the previous graphics card, a MSI Geforce FX 6200, had no problems.
    Upon installation, correct procedures was followed, such as grounding myself, turning the power off etc.
    The card or any of the components in my computer have NOT been overclocked, as a few measly megahertz is not worth the warranty. (Overclocking the graphics card is especially pointless, as it is already powerfull enough, the onboard Geforce 4 can handle the newest games thrown at it, at moderate settings)
    The case itself is properly cooled with 3 Fans (2 Intake, 1 exhaust) and also the wiring is routed and tidy. The graphics card had the 2 4 pin molex power connected also.
    As of present, i do not have a list of what is ruined in the fire, but in general terms, the Graphics Card and Motherboard is wrecked. (I havent turned the computer On again, due to what happened before). I suspect the CPU and RAM may have been damaged, Hard drives and optical drives should still be functioning, the case itself is blacked out on the inside with smoke.
    Any ideas on what to do guys? This was a very expensive graphics card, that has just gone up in smoke.    I bought the card from the USA as a self xmas present, i would normally just RMA the graphics card, but it somehow melted-ish in the AGP slot, so i cant take it out. I cant take the motherboard out, because it is bolted and padlocked to the desk! (i've lost the keys). I would post some pics up, but i dont have a digital camera, or know anybody that would lend one to me. So any ideas on what i should do? Ive filled out a technical support form, but i havent had a reply yet.

    Then, I'd contact your local MSI subsidiary. Call them, don't bother with online forms or e-mail.

  • Is it bad capacitors?

    My iMac had been having problems starting up for a week or so where there would be a few visual glitches (randomly colored squares etc.) on either the login or loading screen. Eventually it completely refused to start up normally. I though it was a hard drive problem at first so I bought a new one and have a clean install of OSX on it. This didn't solve my problem. It continues to hang on the blue screen and only boots up in safe mode. I've looked at the capacitors and only a few seem to have the metallic top pushing slightly outward and honestly they were like this years ago when I upgraded the ram on the system.
    I've reset the pram, repaired the permissions and drive already to no avail. So I guess I'd like to know if it's something a little simpler to repair than the capacitors haha.

    So the crucial info here is that the tops were "slightly" pushed up. Now they can look like that and be OK for a while. I've also seen others that were just barely bulged and tested absolutely dead. So as soon as you see that that must be addressed before anything else.
    DT&T services has been recommended on these boards before and have a good rep. One of my clients used them and was pleased.
