Time Balance and Account Type

According to docs, time balance are system-defined based on account type. However, I can set any time balance. And it not enfore time balance setting on app validation and deployment.
So, is any relationship between account type and time balance?

  • Time Balance and Time series in ASO

    We are building an ASO application and we need Time balance and dynamic time series functionality.
    If I go and use the TB functionality in ASO, my Time dimension has to be stored and I cannot put mdx formulas on my members (YTD,QTD,MTD)
    I see various threads here and the recommendation is to have a new dimension to view the time series members (gary's blog...tnx for him)
    However we cannot afford to have a separate dimension. The time series should be under Time.
    How can we go with this?
    Please help me with your suggestions/ideas. Thanks for your time.

  • How to configure PlugAccts that use both balance and flow type source accounts?

    In this application I am maintaining, there is a plugAcct that is account type liability.  The source accounts for this plug account are revenue, expense, asset, and liability (approx 30 accts).  The data in the source accounts balances perfectly by entity.  That is, the credits exactly equal the debits in the source accounts, so the plug account should net to zero at the base entity level (value dimension = elimination).  However, there is a balance in the plug account at the base entity level (value dimension member = elimination).  What is happening is that when eliminations are calculated they are using periodic values for the flow type accounts. The balance in the plugAcct is equal to the prior months YTD total. So only the current month activity is being eliminated.  I changed the account type for the plugAcct to revenue (from liability) and tried again.  This did not resolve the problem. There is no custom consolidation logic in this application.  The scenario is configured for YTD numbers (it is an Actuals scenario).  Balances are always loaded YTD. And yes it is fully consolidated.
    Any ideas?

    Set up your mac.com account again on devices.  Turn off Mail and other data syncing with this account on your wife's devices for data that you want to keep separate.  Then set up a second ("secondary") iCloud account on your wife's devices to sync Mail.
    If you already set up a separate iCloud account on your wife's devices, on her devices go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in your your mac.com ID.  Turn on the data you want to share with this account across all devices; don't turn Mail on.  Then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud and enter her separate iCloud credentials and turn Mail to On.
    The only downside to this approach is that her email will be fetch, not push email.  Push email is only supported in the main ("primary") account, not a secondary account.
    The limitations to be aware of with secondary accounts are that only the primary account can be used for Photo Stream, Bookmarks, Documents, iCloud Backup and Find My Device.  Also, push mail only works for the primary account; secondary account mail is fetch.

  • OB53 and account type X in FS00

    Hi,
    I would like to have better understanding on the relation between these 2 settings:
    Let say, my system's setting is as follows:
    OB53: X - GL 99999
    FS00: GL 89999 (P/L GL) marked with account type X
    Other GL's, like Bank: 11300, Expenses (Water): 416300
    Initially, I started up my business with capital EUR200
    Let say, my current year transaction is payment of water EUR100 (one expense), and does not have other revenue / expense.
    Therefore, my current year Profit and loss account should be, loss of EUR100.
    My balance sheet in EUR, should be as follows:
    Asset:
    Bank: 100
    Liability:
    Capital: 200
    Loss: (100) - retained earning
    My question, how should the system make use of GL99999 and GL89999?
    Anything to do with Tcode: FAGLGVTR?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    In OB53, we have to assign Retained Earnings A/c. It is nothing but Profit and Loss A/c in general terms.
    In your example, you have given GL A/c number 99999 in OB53. That account is called Retained Earnings A/c or Profit and Loss A/c.
    After assignment in OB53, go to go FS000 and create the Retained GL A/c for the same number which you have given in OB53 i.e. GL A/c 99999.
    While creating Retained Earnings A/c in FS00, select your account group (Its may be Reserves and Surplus group) and select Balance Sheet a/c.
    At the time of running F.16, all types of u201CP&L Statement Accountsu201D (This indicator should be selected at the time of creation of GL Accounts in FS00) balances should be carried forward to the Retained Earnings A/c which you have given in OB53.
    Retained Earnings A/c shows the net results i.e. either profit or loss. In your case, it shows a loss of Rs.100.
    Note: We need not post anything manually to Retained Earnings A/c. It will automatically be posted at the time of running F.16.
    Difference between T codes:  F.16 and FAGLGVTR.
    We can use T code: F.16 when we are maintaining GL Accounts in ordinary Financial Accounting ---> General Ledger Accounting.
    We can use T code: FAGLGVTR when we are maintaining GL Accounts in New Format. That is Financial Accounting (New) -
    > General Ledger Accounting (New).
    Hope this helps you.

  • Account group and Account Type.

    Hi all,
    Could you please tell me the diferences between <b>GL Account group</b>  (<i>by example cash, expense, revenue</i> ....) which we define in IMG - Financial Accounting - General Ledger Accounting - G/L Accounts - Master Records - Preparations - Define Account Group and <b>Account Type</b> (<i>by example: Vendor, Customer, Material, GL Account</i>) which is in the screen "create account type" IMG - Financial Accounting - Financial Accounting Global Settings - Document - Document Header - Define Document Types ?
    Thank you very much.
    Sylvecast

    Hi
    Account Group Controls the Master records. It controls the number range of Master record and Field status group (Supress, Required, Optional and Display) also. SAP follows a Grouping principle all throughout SAP to handle the Master Records that may be in GL, AR AP any thing. See to create a GL Account group you define at OBD4 there itself you assign the Number Range or those groups which also controls Field Staus of GL Master Records. And for Creating AR and AP Master Records you create at OBD2 and Vendor at OBD3 which will also controls Field Status Group of And Number range of Master record. The only difference between GL and AR/AP is assigning of number range. For GL will specify at OBD4 itself but for AR/AP we need to create a number range at FBN1 then assign to AR And AP at OBD2 and OBD3 respectively.
    One more thing. Remember only Field Status group of Master recard (OBD2, OBD3, OBD4) only contain Display option but not to Posting Key or Field Satus Group (OB41 or OBC4). I am so specifing becoz I commited this mistake in one interview.
    In summary, the account group controls:
    i) The number ranges of the accounts,
    ii) The status of the fields in the company code segment of the master record.  Since a chart of accounts contains many different types of accounts, they can be bundled into different "account groups ". Usually one account group bundles
    accounts with the same tasks within the general ledger, e. g. cash accounts, material accounts, asset accounts, profit and loss
    accounts,...

  • Multiple Accounts in 7.0 using Dynamic User Forms and Account Types

    Guys/Gals,
    We are attempting to implement the new way of handling multiple account types in IDM 7.0 and so far are coming up unsuccessful. We have managed to customize the Dynamic Resource Forms to create standard default AD accounts, however when we attempt to create different account types of AD(i.e type ADMIN account, or TEST account) we have a no go. We've made identity rules for the types of accounts we have, and the form displays the attributes, however when we go to save, the it attemts to update the default account, and not make the new account type. Has anyone implemented these new features? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Were you ever able to implement this? I was told this was the way to handle multiple accounts for a user on a resource, but so far it's not making much sense to me, nor does it seem feasible. I was wondering if you had any success with it.

  • Displaying Accounts and Account Type in Excel

    We have associated "Account Type" attribute to GL_Accounts Dimension so that they can appear as two separate columns in Excel. Is there another way to do this without using Attributes?<BR>For example, in excel, we are able to pull :<BR><BR>GL_account Account Type<BR>1011 Cash<BR>2000 Inventory<BR><BR>

    Indeed, two siblings may <u>not</u> have the same name (nor the same alias).<BR><BR>You may have to consider using attributes on your Accounts dimension members which, of course, demands that the Accounts dimension is sparse. This potentially complicates calculation order, dynamic calcs, second passes, etc.<BR><BR>By the way, are these accounting-savvy people? It seems strange to me that an accountant doesn't understand which account type each account is without providing an on-screen reference.

  • Debit/Credit Balances and Account Hierarchy

    Hi
    I need to show accounts in the Account Hierarchy according to whether the account has a debit or credit balance. For example, if an account has a debit balance, it must be displayed under debtors and if it has a credit balance, under creditors.
    How can I do this type of reporting in BPC, when the same d/c indicator as in the Financial Statement Version in ERP is not available in BPC?
    Any response appreciated.
    L.

    Hi Lambertus,
    BPC doesn't have something like the financial statement version built in. Neither does BW, actually, but there are business content transformations and queries that use some complex methods to do the kind of reporting you are talking about.
    In BPC I think you are going to need three accounts to accomplish this functionality - one in each branch of the hierarchy (accounts A & B in the example), plus one account that you actually load data into (account C in the example), which will not be displayed in the hierarchy. The two accounts in the hierarchy will either be formula accounts (not ideal) or populated using MDX script logic (better because the values will roll up the hierarchy). Your MDX, either in a formula or a script, would need to look something like this:
    [ACCOUNT].[#A] = iif([ACCOUNT].[C] >= 0, [ACCOUNT].[C], 0)
    [ACCOUNT].[#B] = iif([ACCOUNT].[C] < 0, [ACCOUNT].[C], 0)
    Have I tested this code? No. So buyer beware. But hopefully it sets you on the right track.

  • Mail and account type

    Mail automatically creates a POP account when I enter my e-mail adress even tough my other macs have the IMAP adress working. It doesn't ask me what type of account I want to create. Any idea how to solve this?

    Found the solution myself: you need to press the option button after the first window when creating an account. This will enable you to choose the type of account

  • Change GL Account Type from Balance Sheet Account to P&L Statmt Account

    Hi Experts's
    We have mistakenly defined the GL account as type Balance Sheet Account type and Some postings are done on this GL, we need to change it to P&L Statmt Account, When we do that it's throwing message FH602, as below.

  • Retrieve account members with time balance of "last"

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to write a report scripts that will retrieve from the Accounts dimensions all members that have Time Balance of Account information of "Last". I haven't been able to get the correct syntax to do this retrieval. Is there an existing syntax what is similar to a UDA that I can use as a retireval criteria?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Tom

    I dont think there is a such report script command to list out TB First/Last account members.
    so you need to give some uda to the TB members and list out the accounts based on UDA in report scripts.

  • FI_Document Archiving - Account type life not reached (T071)

    Hi,
    This is related to archiving FI_Documnt. Few of the documents are not able to archive and the reason is Account type life not reached (T071). I have entered same number of retention dayes for account type and document type, that is too for all account type (*) and document type. My understanding is system first checks the header level retention i.e. document type and then moves on to check account level. If retention days are same for doc and account type, when document type retension reached why should I get mess as account type life not reached.
    Could someone help me to understand what could be the reason.
    Regards,
    Shailesh

    Hi Gurus
    I'm in a project archive, I have a problem with FI_DOCUMNT, and set the days of Life Document / Account which exceeds the limit of days to archive, when I run the archive process sends me an error that life has not been reached, any ideas?
    The year archiving is 2006.

  • Time Balance = First for account in HFM

    Hi All!
    Is it possible in HFM to get correct results in summary time periods for "Opening" account (like in Planning when you setup account Time Balance property as First).
    For example:
    I have such accounts: CFOpening (Balance type), CFFlow (Flow type), CFClosing (Balance type)
    and amounts
    for Jan:_
    CFOpening = 100
    CFFlow = 50
    CFClosing = 150
    for Feb:_
    CFOpening = 150
    CFFlow = 50
    CFClosing = 200
    for Mar:_
    CFOpening = 200
    CFFlow = 50
    CFClosing = 250
    for Q1_ I want see this results:
    CFOpening = 100 (amount from Jan)
    CFFlow = 150 (sum of Jan-Mar)
    CFClosing = 250 (CFOpening + CFFlow)
    but now I have:
    CFOpening = 200 (amount from Mar)
    CFFlow = 150 (sum of Jan-Mar)
    CFClosing = 350 (CFOpening + CFFlow)
    How can I get correct result for Q1 in such case?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    In HFM balance accounts behave as ending balances, so that the YTD value is always equal to Periodic value. Your CFOpening account is declared as balance, accordingly HFM understands that March value (200) behaves like ending balance of this account. Therefore Q1 ending balance of the account is 200, it cannot be 100 unless you redefine your rules to set your CFOpening account always to the year beginning value (or previous year's ending balance). That is for all months CFOpening will be 100 for all months. But then you would have a problem of adding up balance and flow accounts. Because flow accounts unlike balance accts have different YTD and Periodic values. Usually, we overcome this problem by declaring all accounts as balance, at the expense of losing the Periodic values of the CFFlow account.

    Hi
    Hope you are doing this in test server
    If this is a real time issue this needs to be addressed by a FI consultant
    First see for your company code what is the posting period varient maintained in OBY6
    Say if it is 1000
    Then in OB52
    Maintain a setting like this
    1000-S-BLANK-ZZZZZZZZZZ-1--2010122010-13--201016--2010
    Then save it
    This is for Account type S that is GL accounts
    Preferably maintain the same for      A,   + ,   D,   K,   M,   V
