Timed Event Problem

I've multiple WLI (2.1 sp1, running on WLS6.1 sp2)servers sharing the same database.
I've a workflow containing a timed event, which starts every 5 minutes once that
workflow is instantiated and stops when the workflow is done.
If server 1 runs the workflow and creates instance 1 and before it finishes, server
2 runs and creates instance 2, two timed events are registered. Probably the entry
is made in the wli's TIMEDEVENT table. Problem is both timed events are executed
for BOTH the servers i.e. timed part of instance 1 and instance 2 are executed on
both the servers.
Seems like servers are making timed event entries to the database and waiting
on a topic. A thread is looking at timedevent table and at the scheduled time informing
everybody listening on the topic irrexpective of who made the entry.
Is there a way for running a timed event on only one of the WLI servers connected
to it?
Thanks,
Tarkeshwar

I am running the code exactly as it appears here, and it is slowing the computer down after about 5-10 minutes.  However, I have just realised that I am using the "TLF" type of text box - for some formatting reasons that I do not really remember right now.  When I changed it to the standard "dynamic" text box there is no drop in framerate.  Perhaps I need to use one of the TLF methods to update the text rather than just re-define it constantly.

  • Time zone compatability problem with timed event created on iOS and pushed to Windows7 Outlook calendar for sharing

Hi, I am in Jerusalem time zone. My Windows7 LAPTOP time zone is set to it (UTC+02:00 Jerusalem). My iPhone5 and iPad are both "Set Automatically" (ON)  to Jerusalem. When I create any new event in my outlook on my Laptop it's generated with the Jerusalem time zone and pushed properly via iCloud to my iPhone and iPad. However when I create a new timed event on either my iPhone or iPad. or even in iCloud calendar (in a browser) the event is pushed to outlook on my Laptop in a "Beirut" time zone. Now that both Jerusalem and Beirut are on the same time zone (UTC + 02:00) it doesn't create any problem (though I prefer to see that the pushed events are indeed in Jerusalem time zone and not Beirut...). However, at and around day time saving change days there are problems of events created on iOS devices or even in iCloud (using browser) and pushed to outlook at the wrong times (1 hour earlier or later, depends on the change direction in Jerusalem time...) with a Beirut time stamp.
How can I resolve this problem and make sure all timed events, created on iOS devices at a Jerusalem time zone, appear as such after pushed via iCloud to my windows7 Outlook calendatr?  Thanks!

I also have this issue (iPhone 5).  Outlook needs to be configured properly in that timezone option needs to be selected.  Which is challenging enough.
However the bigger issue for me is that when I open the ICN file:
    1.  I have no way to accept decline etc.
    2.  When the event is populating the calendar in the wrong time I can neither cut and paste nor select and move.  It is totally static.
So for every meeting request I have to ensure it populates the right time as per my time zone. and if it doesnt i have to manually enter a second meeting 'X' hours earlier/later depending on which time zone the meeting was generated in.
I spoke to Apple.  Their solution is make sure Outlook is properly configured.  Fine...but good luck.  I need a work around that is Apple based.  Because this *****.
They said they would send to the development team.  I am not holding my breath.

  • To cure the March 2013 monthly Calendar problem I amended my All- Day events for April 1 to timed events on my iPad.  Now the Calendar does not load at all on the iPad, but still OK on iPhone 5.  Any suggestions please?

In order to cure the problem on my iPad of the month of March 2013 only causing the Calendar to close, I amended all "All Day" events on April 1 to timed events.  Now my Calendar will not open, although my Calendar on an iPad 2 and on iPhones 5 & 4 work perfectly.  I have tried turning iPad off/on, but no effect.  Any ideas please?

I'm having the same issue with my 3rd gen iPad too. I always viewed my calendar in month view. It won't even open since it's stuck on month view.
I've quit the app (properly closing via taskbar) and re-opened - crashes immediatly.
Quit the app and rebooted (via holding home/power buttons until restart) and opened - still crashes immediatly.
Anyone know how I'm able to get access to the app so I can change all day events to timed events in April. Is it just April 1st or all of April? I haven't even opened my iPhones iCal yet to see if it's having the same issue.
Also, not sure if this will work but iCal on my mac wireless syncs my calendar events. I'm wondering if I change April 1st all day events to timed events whether it'll sync and fix the issue of crashing?

  • Problem starting a workflow with a timed event.

    Hi all,
I am trying to start a workflow with a timed event this way,
    Start Date Expression: StringToDate("20:09", "HH:mm")
    Reschedule: 1 day
I save the workflow at 20:07, but nothing happens at 20:09.
    Any hints?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Thomas,
Wf-XML was implemented when XI wasn't even a glint in SAP's eye. The message arrives in the SAP Web AS and triggers a workflow directly (or responds to an incoming workflow request message).
Exception: prior to the 6.10 release of the Web AS the incoming messages are received in an ITS.
    Best regards,
    Alan

  • ICal all-day event problem

iCal on my iPad worked fine for a while. Now, many of my all day events (but not all of them) are showing up a day early on my iPad on week view. Everything is fine on all other devices (iPhone, MacBook) and all is fine on iPad on day, month and list view. All timed events are in the right place. But all day events in week view are a disaster and turning off the iPad isn't helping. Any advice?

Did you travel out of your home time zone and first notice the problem then? I spent an hour and a half on the phone with Apple Care while I was in the Central zone (I live in Eastern) and nothing the supervisor suggested worked (deleting the account, resetting, turning ipad off, etc). They'd bumped me up to a supervisor because the regular guy had no idea. Supervisor said no one on the internal tech board had seen that particular problem. The final assumption was it was a software glitch on my ipad--the advice was a complete restore which was going to have to wait until I returned home because he said it would take too long over the Verizon mi-fi I was using while traveling. Anyway--I got home to Eastern time, immediately pulled out the ipad to do the restore and all the all-day events were in the right place and have remained in the right place since then. My best guess is that it's a time zone issue but it doesn't make much sense. All my timed events stayed right where they were supposed to be the whole time (time zone support turned off).

  • ICal doesn't subscribe to timed events and doesn't refresh

In our office we each have a calendar which each person publishes on .Mac, and which others in the office subscribe to. We're experiencing the following problems:
    -- "Refresh all" on some machines doesn't refresh calendars; each must be refreshed individually;
-- On some machines, all-day events appear, but timed events do not
-- In some cases calendars won't refresh properly; they display old information and don't update, even when manually refreshed. The calendar must be deleted and re-subscribed to on the subscribing machine. Sometimes even this doesn't work and has to be done repeatedly before the calendar is up to date.
We have a mix of iBooks, iMacs (from G4 to Intel), MacBook, PowerBook, and G5; running OS X 10.3 through 10.4. Could the mix of OS versions be the problem? Or should we use another server than .Mac to publish/subscribe to?

    lilkirk87,
It probably means that you do not have "Calendars" selected in iPhone>Settings>iCloud.

    Metalink Note:280939.1 said:
"Consider the use of different number for the DOP on your tables.
On large tables and their indexes use high degree like #CPU.
For smaller tables use DOP (#CPU)/2 as start value.
    Question 1:
"On large tables"--> Does Metalink mean to a large
table by its size (GB) or by number of rows ?
That's one of those vague things that people say without thinking that it
could have different meanings. Most people assume that a table that is
large in Gb is also large in number of rows.
As far as PQ is concerned I think that large numbers of rows may be more significant than large size, because (a) in multi-layer queries you pass rows around and (b) although the initial rows may be big you might not need all the columns to run the query, so Gb become less relevant once the data scan is complete
As a strategy for keeping DOP on the tables, by the way, it sounds quite
good. The difficulty is in the fine-tuning.
    Question 2:
I checked how many parallel operations had been
downgraded and found that less than 4% had been
downgraded. Do you think that i still have to consider
    reducing the DOP ?
Having lots of slaves means you are less likely to get downgrades. But it's the number of slaves active for a single query that introduce the dequeue waits - so yes, I think you do need to worry about the DOP. (Counter-intuitively, the few downgraded queries may have been performing better than the ones running at full DOP).
The difficulty is this - do you need to choose a strategy, or do you just need to fix a couple of queries.
Strategy 1: set DOP to 1 on all tables and indexes, then hint all queries that you think need to run parallel, possibly identifying a few tables and indexes that could benefit from an explicit setting for DOP.
Strategy 2: set DOP to #CPUs on all very large tables and their indexes and #CPUs/2 on the less large tables and their indexes. Check for any queries that perform very badly and either hint different degrees, or fine-tune the degree on a few tables.
Strategy 3: leave parallelism at default, identify particularly badly performing queries and either put in hints for DOP, or use them to identify any tables that need specific settings for DOP.
Starting from scratch, I would want to adopt strategy 1.
Starting from where you are at present, I would spend a little time checking to see if I could get some clues from any extreme queries - i.e. following strategy 3; but if under a lot of time pressure and saw no improvement I would switch to strategy 2.

Database is just a storage room where you store stuff. Your storing and retrieving

    is neither fast nor slow.

My experience with this wait event is that I see a lot of it when CURSOR_SHARING is set
to "FORCE". In addition to CONFIO's solution, you can also switch to Oracle11g and use client caching. Also, you can rebuild your hottest indexes as reverse indexes, as long as you

are waiting for the TABLE locks. It frequently happens when a report is ported from

cope with that by locking tables in the shared mode. If that kind of thing was allowed
to run unchanged on an Oracle RDBMS, it will cause endless concurrency problems.

    Hi,
it seems that your database experiences a high SQL workload. The section of statspack report called "Top SQLs by Buffer Gets" might give you an idea what SQLs caused this CPU workload.

  • Calendar Question: Why do all day untimed events switch to all day timed events???

I've complained about this on other threads, but so far nobody has answer.  Can somebody please tell me why all day untimed events on the Pre sometimes switch to all day TIMED events (i.e., an event that starts at 12am and ends at 11:59pm)??  My guess is that this is yet another glitch with Google calendar sync, but I would like somebody to weigh in if they know how to fix it.  Thanks.
PS--I'm also still waiting for someone from Palm to address the daylight saving time glitch too, if anybody is out there.  Thx.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

This is happening to me as well.  So far, I've noticed it only with repeating events, and not with all of them.  I started noticing the problem in late October, at the same time that I noticed some all-day repeating events being moved forward a day (see separate thread).  As of today (the 12th), I see a repeating yearly all-day event on the 14th that is changed to a 12:00-11:59 event; and a similar problem with an all-day event on the 20th that is supposed to repeat until the 22nd.  In that case, the event is showing only on the 20th and 21st, with the 22nd not showing the event.  In this same time period, there are many all-day events repeating yearly that are NOT showing any problems.
At the moment all events seem to be showing up correctly in Google Calendar, which my Pre is syncing to. - Dan

  • Timed Events Not Printing

iCal preview and printing shows bar in place of the start time for timed events. Help please. Need to see start times instead of bars.

I'm having the same problem. I've turned of the legend, I've made sure that both timed and all day events are set to print.
The bar (looks like a category label or something) is followed by three dots. The dots seem to indicate that something is being abbreviated due to length.
    Any suggestions?

  • How can I stop iCal displaying a timed event as an all day event?

Since updating to Lion and hence to Mountain Lion when I add a timed event in ical which continues past 04.00 the following morning it is displayed as an all day event covering both days. As I work shifts which involve night turns this is very annoying. It does not happen on iCal on my iPad.
I have tried adjusting settings for start time of day etc to no avail.

    Bruno,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Are you using any sync software?
The easiest thing to try is to refresh the the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the com.apple.iCal.plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart, and make sure the deletion preference is not checked.

  • CPU Time in Top 5 Timed Events

    Hi,
We have a 2 node RAC database(10.2.0.3) on Solaris 10.
There is performance issue with CMRO application R12.
In database I see CPU time consistently as the top wait event in the Top 5 Timed Events.
This is mostl followed by db file sequential read.
    For one of the days:
    Top 5 Timed Events
Event Waits Time(s) Avg Wait(ms) % Total Call Time Wait Class
    CPU time 8,383 82.8
    db file sequential read 173,417 838 5 8.3 User I/O

    enq: TX - row lock contention 1,063 356 335 3.5 Application
    gcs log flush sync 37,747 88 2 .9 Other
    For other day:
    Top 5 Timed Events
Event Waits Time(s) Avg Wait(ms) % Total Call Time Wait Class
    CPU time 25,286 62.0
    db file sequential read 2,644,332 8,267 3 20.3 User I/O
    gc buffer busy 1,358,725 3,830 3 9.4 Cluster
    read by other session 438,494 1,169 3 2.9 User I/O
    SQL*Net more data to client 19,423 879 45 2.2 Network
Any idea of the of the bottleneck?
    Thanks

8 CPUs, load average 4, runqueue 0 and usage 30-35%
Does this indicate any issue with system resourcesNO. Not at all.
However a poor schema design or inefficient SQL execution can mean that a query that should do 100 'consistent gets' is doing 10,000 'consistent gets' -- in the buffer cache, consuming CPU and not waiting for I/O. This is a scenario where you have idle CPU but CPU usage is inefficient. (Thus, for example, adding more CPUs will not help your users at all).
So you should look at the queries and see if queries can be improved.
If, on the other hand, users are not complaining of performance and all response times are within expectations, than you have no issue at all.
