TinkerTool setting/tweak suggestions

i love the software from these guys and i love that i can set my screenshots to go to a certain folder with this tool.
i can't help but think that i am missing some other goodies that would be useful on a network or otherwise for customization and thought others might have other fav settings that they tweak with this tool.
thanks for any advice/experiences.

Unfortunately not. But if you don't move your mouse down into that part of the tool options they shouldn't trouble you. If you mean you don't like the grid, click the blank square at the left of the grid options:

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Changed setting per suggestions, updated, unplugged then replugged and still NADA, no sound! Argh, so frustrating.

I've tried all of the setting changes noted in others help questions regarding the no sound issue with Apple TV but still no sound. Am I missing something? And considering this is an apple product I don't think I should by adapters for my TV to translate or whatever the HDMI issues. It's called Apple TV, TV is the keyword, should work with my TV as is. I can understand downloading updates, but at this point it's frustrating that it's updated, I've made all setting changes, unplugged it, replugged it, restarted and it's not the first time this is like the fourth time in the last few weeks, it's ridiculous. I seriously regret buying this, I thought it would be as user friendly as my iPhone and Mac, now I just want to smash it. Any other suggestions, as you can read I am frustrated at this point.

Your computer does have an integrated sound card. This means that the sound card is integrated with the motherboard. If you had contacted tech support then you might have tried all the basic steps.
Run the "Hardware diagonistic test" for Sound and check if it reports any error. By looking at your description it looks like the sound card has gone bad and to resolve this you need to get the motherboard replaced within the warranty period. The other option will be to install a PCI Express 1x sound card and its drivers. This card will be available in any computer near by.
After installing the card you need to boot the computer to BIOS(tapping F10 key during startup) and go to Advanced and disable the on-board audio. Installing sound card should be tried only if you dont want to send the computer for service to replace the motherboard.

Clean set up suggestions

Hi all,
I've been working on OSX server for a while now trying to get it to behave properly. Here's the set up:
Mac mini, running OS10.6 server behind an external firewall with static IP supplied by my ISP. I also have a registered domain. This will be the only server on the network, although in the future we could add more. Plus we'd like to have it externally accessible. Though, I'll get it up and happy on the LAN before I open it up to WAN.
I was having some issues and tracked them down to dns... (of course) and so just tried reinstalling this morning with the hostname: server.example.com however when I went in to Server Admin the zones were setup as such, so I followed the instructions on Hoffman labs and changed it to the primary zone of example.com and a machine record for server.example.com pointing to the static (local) ip of the mini. The problem that I found soon after is that any users then had to log in using [email protected] rather than [email protected] Do I need to make setup assistant just set up DNS service skip the open directory set up and set it up later manually? Or where would I be able to change that setting once it's set up. I left it installing tonight, so when I get in in the morning it'll be ready and waiting in setup assistant. My plan for tomorrow will be to set it up as basic as possible, change the DNS settings as per Hoffman Labs' instructions, then start adding services.
Any help would be appreciated.

Alright, I've tried setting it up again. Set it up as basic as I possibly could through the install. THen went into DNS followed the instructions on MrHoffman's site: http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/1436 to set up the correct zones. Then set up the OD server using the actual domain as opposed to the hostname in the LDAP and Kerberos settings. Then when I go to set up iChat or mail users get an address as [email protected] rather than [email protected] how can I set it up so that users will have their address as such?
On another note, using the method on MrHoffman's site, how does this work in a situation where ther is one server providing all the services (DNS, mail, ichat, etc.)? If I create a zone called example.com and then a machine (A) record for server.example.com if I try to create another for mail.example.com to provide mail service using an address that makes sense, rather than server.example.com only one of them gets a reverse mapping record. Do I need to do the wildcard mapping as noted on MrHoffman's site? and will that be suitable for mail... and secondly will the server then know to use mail.example.com when it automatically sets up a client computer instead of server.example.com?
lots of questions, but I really want to get this working right.... I had it working before but then realized that the DNS was completely messed and so tied to fix it using MrHoffman's site but that seemed to destroy all the services I had setup, so trying to get this going correctly from the ground up.
Help?!

Value not getting set in NETValue field in Oppurtunities

Hi,
I have requirement to
make the "Net value" field in Products assignment block of new Oppurtunity editable.
method GET_I_NETVALUE.
rv_disabled = 'TRUE'.
endmethod.
by making rv_disabled = "FALSE" i am able to make it to editable, but i have an issue while entering some value to this field
for eg: if I give 10.00 and press enter its getting changed to 0.00. ( value is not getting set )
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Exchange Online EWS Only Returns Availability when MinimumSuggestionQuality is set to Poor - Why?

We are using impersonation to access mailboxes hosted in Office 365 using EWS but the app will only return available timeslots when the availabilityOptions.MinimumSuggestionQuality = SuggestionQuality.Poor. I've tried adjusting the availabilityOptions.GoodSuggestionThreshold
to no avail. Beyond assigning the "ApplicationImpersonation" role to the account being used to access mailboxes, are there any other permissions, licenses, or attributes that need to be set in order to use EWS to query for free/busy time?

For EWS to work with App Token, you need to do two more things. One you already did: Set the impersonation header. Two is to set the X-AnchorMailbox http request header to the smtp address of the mailbox you want to access. This routes the request instantly
to the right backend.

Suggestion: Individual PodCast (Copy/Paste)

I often listen to an individual PodCast item and want to Email its URL to a friend to tell him about the great "lecture" that I heard.
I realize that if I want to Email him the URL of the PodCaster's site I can manually type it in to the Email, though Apple's Itune still does not support the suggestion that one can Copy/Past the URL that is visable in the PodCasters "Show Discription", but
In addition I want to have the individual PodCast item, event available via say a "Show Description" and to have the url of the MP3 file, or whatever to be able to be Copy and Paste able.
P.S. I would suggest that you do put in a separate discussion set for Suggestions for those of us who what to see what suggestions are outstanding and discuss if We linke/dont like a specific suggestion.

6111: No option for "Word Suggestions"

I can't set "Word suggestions". I have no menu option for Predictive Sett..
On page 23 of the 6111 manual it says you set "Word suggestions" as follows:
When writing text select Options> Prediction Sett> then turn Prediction On then you get to Prediction Type> Normal or Word suggestions.
When I am in create message and choose Options all I have are:-

Clear field
Insert contact

Insert smiley

Insert Symbol

Faces won't suggest probably matches (anymore)

When I first installed the new iPhoto, it scanned for hours, and did an amazing job with pictures of myself. It suggested almost all of them, and within minutes I had them all identified.
I then went to the next person, my dad, and....zero suggestions.
Tried mom...zero suggestions.
It seems to have only made suggestions for my face, and nobody else's. Anybody else experience faces doing that? Makes suggestions for one person, and that's it?

I found that iPhoto '09 learns very well. The more names you confirm (both accept and reject), the more accurate it becomes. And that includes making more suggestions. Find a couple of pictures that haven't been tagged at all, and manually assign a bunch of faces. This can lead to a whole new set of suggestions.

Yup, this.
Judging from the number of tracks that iTunes 11 tells me it's played, versus last.fm's scrobbles over the last two days, iTunes is actually updating the play date/time and count about twenty percent of the time. I haven't been systematic about testing under what conditions it does and doesn't update, but:
Some tracks from an album will be updated and not others.
Once a track has failed to update once, it seems likely to fail again (some tracks have had five or six plays unrecorded by iTunes).
Curiously, if you look at the play history in the Next Up drop menu, all the played tracks appear, updated or not.
My fabulously intricate architecture of smart-playlisted-out-the-wazoo filters all goes awry, if the play data isn't properly updated.
Guys, sort it out, eh?

You might want to check this as well... Although I'm not familiar with Mountain Lion since I am still running Lion, but I think it is pretty much the same in ML....
Open System Preferences and click on Users and Groups. Click on your your account and then click on Log In Items and make sure that iTunes Helper is checked.

Audit Policy setting in GPO

I would like to setup the audit setting for our company which will include mainly the "DS access" category. Also, we would like to disable the success logon / logoff as default and only enable the failure option in order to decrease the size of
our security log.
Should all those setting be set in the "Default Domain Policy" GPO or "Default Domain Controller Policy"? Or we need to setup another GPO for the setting as, suggest by MS, the "Default Domain Policy" should only contain the
Password and Lockout policy.

DS Access security audit policy settings provide a detailed audit trail of attempts to access and modify objects in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). These audit events

Audit "logon events" records logons on the PC(s) targeted by the policy and the results appear in the Security Log on that PC(s).
If you want to just audit failure logon, you can configure the settings in the default domain policy or configure it in another GPO which links to the domain.
In addition, we can set the maximum size of security log via group policy. Regarding this point, the following article can be referred to for more information.
