Title and header in provider.xml

Hi
We changed the portlet title and portlet name in provider.xml file. After the portlet repository has been refreshed we could see the changes in the repository. But on the pages where the portlets already exists it does not show the change. If we reate a new instance of the portlet to a page, the new
name is reflected.Restarting the apache( and jserv) did not make any difference. Any more changes or refresh we need to carry out?.
In case it helps
There are 2 tables called WWPOB_PORTLET_INSTANCE$, WWPOB_PORTLET_INSTANCE_FLAT$. Each of these tables has a name column that does not
appear to reflect the new name of the portlet for the records that existed before the provider.xml changed.
Thanks

When existing instances of a portlet are rendered, the title is taken from the stored customization for that instance, not from the portal. The title you specify in the provider.xml is an initial value that can be overridden

    As you can see, this isn't well formed and when I try to process this via XSLT I run into all kinds of problems.  So outside of writting a program to watch for files, picking them up with a c# program, wrapping the XML to make it well formed then pass
    it to the XSLT file, is there a way that I can wrap the file using XSLT instead of having to create a separate program to make it well formed? Any help is appreciated.

    Hello katghoti,
    >>however the XML isn't well formed.  Really it isn't even XML it is just a formatted text file
    Firstly, we should know that a text file actually does not know a XML format, so I suggest that you could save the text file to a XML file. And if you provided XML is the whole content, it is not an invalid XML file because the XML document must have one
    and only one root element. You have to add root element, so a valid XML file with these SampleSet elements should be similar with below:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <SampleSets>
    <SampleSet Label="Sample Set">
    <Name Label="Name" Value="CQS6" />
    <AnalysisDate Label="Analysis Date" Value="3/13/2015 12:20 PM" />
    <CarbonAvg Label="Carbon Avg." Value="116 ppm" />
    </SampleSet>
    <SampleSet Label="Sample Set">
    <Name Label="Name" Value="CQS6" />
    <AnalysisDate Label="Analysis Date" Value="3/13/2015 12:33 PM" />
    <CarbonAvg Label="Carbon Avg." Value="123 ppm" />
    </SampleSet>
    </SampleSets>
    I am not sure how you want the XML be formatted, my usual approach to format a XML file is to open the file in Visual Studio and use ctrl K+D keyboard shortcuts to format the XML file.
    >>is there a way that I can wrap the file using XSLT instead of having to create a separate program to make it well formed?
    XSLT is used to process XML file, while you provided file is a text file, it does not recognize it.
    If I misunderstand, please feel free to let me know.

  • Manual Changes in Provider.XML

    Hi Experts,
      Mine is a File to XI to JDBC[SQL SERVER]  scenerio. Certain JAR files were missing in the JDBC application, so I had to follow the PDF file: How To Installand Configure ExternalDrivers for the JDBC & JMS Adapters  which instructed me to download the msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar [ from MS SQL  VENDOR ] as well as the  aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda from the path
    /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<SYSNO>/SDM/root/origin/
    sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.jmsproviderlib/SAP AG/3.0.0220040608173429.0000/aii_af_jmsproviderlib .sda  and unzipped and put the .JAR files in them ,and put the jar files name in provider.XML file and again zipped and converted it to a .SDA folder.
       Now my query is the PDF is asking to DEPLOY it using SDM, but I wish to know, prior to that, will I replace the .com/com.sap.aii.af.jmsproviderlib.SDA in  the path   /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<SYSNO>/SDM/root/origin/
    sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.jmsproviderlib/SAP AG/3.0.0220040608173429.0000/aii_af_jmsproviderlib .sda  , with the newly modified aii_af_jmsproviderlib .sda carrying the JAR files and the updated provider.XML file??

    Modertors, can u comment , is this the right forum to ask this question?

    You have to deploy the required JDBC drivers for the database before making connection. Ask the database provider or your vendor for the divers. That should be deployed using SDM tool
    Start visual admin of XI and select service "Deploy" and then select option "Deploy and start" to select file and deploy it
    now here is the steps to deploy this module.
    How to deploy adapter module in production
    Three option available:
    1. Using SDM
    2. Using Visual Admin
    3. Using NW development studio (Not available for Production)
    We will use Visual Admin u201CDeployu201D deploy service to deploy EAR file of adapter module.
    Steps:
    1. Goto VM->Deploy service
    2. Select option u201CDeploy and startu201D
    3. Select EAR file provided for deployment
    4. Restart the service.
    5. Done

  • Diff. btw. Region edit controls and provider.xml controls on rendering portlet UI

    hi,
    Apologize if this has been asked already.
    What are the differences if any between -
    - controlling the display of portlet header/border in the provider.xml file (containerRenderer set to false)
    V/S
    - controlling in the page edit mode (edit defaults) and uncheck the "display banners/borders" for the portlets at the region level.
    Appreciate it if anyone can explain any subtle differnces if they exist, or if they complement/overide each other. I am planning to set the containerRenderer to false to show them programmatically.
    regards
    -Ananth

    I'm using VS 2013 Coded UI Test Builder trying to add some new recorded elements to an existing window. The top level window that the coded ui test builder generated had to be modified since the title changes depending on the contents in a form. I've tried
    different ways to identify it but the simplest that seems to work looks like this (basically eliminated the name and just search for the winform name):
    public class UICustomerWindow: WinWindow
    public UICustomerWindow()
    #region Search Criteria
    this.SearchProperties[WinWindow.PropertyNames.ControlName] = "frmCustomerMaintenance";
    #endregion
    Like I said, this works in all the tests automated already and the coded ui test builder can find it if I click the refresh button. The problem occurs when I try to add any new element or exiting element. The UI builder likes to ignore all the previous recordings
    for that UI map and add a completely new top level window and elements in that window:
    public class UIViewEditCustomerDURGWindow : WinWindow
    public UIViewEditCustomerDURGWindow()
    #region Search Criteria
    this.SearchProperties[WinWindow.PropertyNames.Name] = "View/Edit Customer DURGAN, KENYON";
    this.SearchProperties.Add(new PropertyExpression(WinWindow.PropertyNames.ClassName, "WindowsForms10.Window", PropertyExpressionOperator.Contains));
    this.WindowTitles.Add("View/Edit Customer DURGAN, KENYON");
    #endregion
    Is there something I'm missing or this just a limitation of the Coded UI Test Builder? BTW, if more info is needed, let me know and I can probably provide it since its all dummy data.

  • How do i create and write to an xml file?

    I know there are methods to create nodes and such but I am not at all familiar with xml. Isn't an easier way just to use the File class to create the file and use the write method to write to the xml file? Thank you.

  • Deploytool not deleting fields in ejb-jar.xml and sun-cmp-mappings.xml

    Java(TM) 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition 1.4 SDK Developer Release deploytool
    This situation was found on a simple, but original application using CMP EJB's. The database is MySQL using numeric id's and foreign keys.
    I changed some fields in the database and went through the usual 14 attempts at getting deploytool to recognize a new schema without success. The one thing that is noticed is that when I tried to open the CMP display in the Entity selection the tool would not show any data, also it appears to lockup; however, if you select EJB in the choice box of the upper left you can get the view to close.
    In desperation (mind you decoding machine generated XML is NOT my favorite activity) I looked at the descriptor viewer and notice fields existed in the descriptor that were deleted in the database. The tool had read the schema because the new fields were also present.
    In sun-cmp-mappings.xml the old <cmp-field-mapping> definitions were still present. and in ejb-jar.xml the <query> and <cmp-field> were still present.
    After deleting them out -- happy, happy, happy, joy, joy, joy. Deploytool accepted the new schema (keeping all the proper old stuff correctly. yea!!!) and a simple create mapping process brought the beans and database into sync.
    I didn't want to report a bug, since I am actually new to EJB's so if anybody wishes to comment please do. I just wanted to provide a heads up in case this was something not noticed.
    BTW I'm a recent expert at EJB's anybody got a job? :-)

    Have you tried to unmap your fields and relationships?
    Go through all your enterprise beans in the CMP Database window and click Unmap All until the Persistent Field Mappings table is empty of mappings. Then click Create Database Mappings, select the new schema, and verify the fields and relationships were mapped. This should clear out any old field mappings.

    You can refer to the code provided in this thread XML Tag Issue: Need extra Line with Xml RooTag and Convert the IDOC XML file into single string? . Java mapping would do these steps -
    a) Convert the incoming xml into string.
    b) Modify it with some string function as per requirement.
    c) Convert the string back to xml.
    For more understanding about Java mapping, go through links provided in the thread java mapping .

  • Title and end slides in IMovie?

    Is there any way to have a blank background you can write on for the title and ending in iMovie '09.
    I don't want that info superimposed over the video. I would have thought they could provide a single panel to do that similar to all the other titles they offer. Do you have to make that elsewhere and import it?
    Thank you

    Wow, thank you, Apple man! That was simple. However, I found that when I select the Centered title which shows a larger heading and a smaller subheading, as soon as I try to select a font, color, and size, both lines, heading and subheading, default to the same size, and won't go back to 2 different size fonts. It seems to be one text field, rather than two separate one, as it is in the "Lower Third" title.
    I guess that can't be helped.
    thanks again, Josh

  • How can i add more than one portlet description in my provider.xml

    I already tested MyFirstPortlet developed using JPDK and is working fine.I add one more portlet description in the same provider.xml. But the new portlet is not getting displayed under the provider when i try to add it in my page.
    null

    Abdulla,
    I just want to verify that I understand your question. You successfully created "MyFirstPortlet" using the JPDK, now you are trying to add a second portlet using the provider.xml file and it does not show up in the Add Portlets Screen when trying to add the new portlet to a page.
    This could be one of many different problems.
    1) Make sure that you added it to the provider.xml file correctly. You should have two portlets within one provider within the file. For example (note only displaying tags, content missing):
    <provider class="oracle.portal.provider.v1.http.DefaultProvider" session="true">
    <portlet class="oracle.portal.provider.v1.http.DefaultPortlet" version="1" >
    <id>1</id>
    </porltet>
    <portlet class="oracle.portal.provider.v1.http.DefaultPortlet" version="1" >
    <id>2</id>
    </porltet>
    </provider>
    Notice above that i have two portlet open/close tags within a single provider.
    2) Make sure that the location of this file is the one listed in zone.properties.
    3) Make sure you stop and restart your listener to accept the changes of the provider.xml file.
    4) Login to Portal as an Administrator and go to the Administration page of Portal. Click on Administer, then click on "Display Portlet Repository". Click on Refresh at the top right of the page to retrieve the changes to the provider.xml file. Scroll down to the myfirstprovider and you should now see the new portlet you added.
    Hope this helps,
    Sue

  • Is there any way to turn off the auto formatting in Pages?  I just want to type a letter and add pictures and titles, and Pages keeps changing font sizes and doesn't let me "Do it my way".  I HATE this!

    Is there any way to turn off the auto formatting in Pages?  I'm using a blank document, so I figured I could write my letter and add pictures any way I wanted to.  But NO!  Pages keeps changing the font size!  I typed a large heading as a title, and when I try to change to a smaller font for the body of the letter, it changes the size back to the larger size!  I am getting SO FRUSTRATED!  I've spent over an hour trying to get the stupid program to let me just type my letter!  Can anyone help?

    The only one left is the "unsubmitted text" dialogue, which would not be a problem if I were not a Facebook user; after updating the "Richard is..." field (which does not require a manual submit to actually send) I get the above message. This is obviously Safari just not realising that the info has been sent and is therefore (I imagine) one for Apple themselves to answer!!
    You're welcome Rich. Glad to help.
    Not being a Facebook User, I'm not sure how to respond to the error situation. However, this would be something to report to Apple as a bug via the Safari Menu. First, open to the page in question, then select "Report Bugs to Apple".

    You need to put your title in the page header if you want it to appear on every page.  The report header only displays once per report.

  • Report alignment and header not proper while modifying using MS Office 2007

    We have an RTF template designed using old MS Office version (1997 - 2003).
    Wehn we save the document after making any change using MS Office 2007, the alignment is changed in the merged PDF output (esp. table cell border hiding / displaying).
    Moreover, the data in page header (data from XML) is not appearing.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Kumar
    If I understand you correctly, I think the the following should work:
    I Assume text-006 = 'fiscal year :'
    CONCATENATE text-006 p_gjahr INTO ls_line-info SEPARATED BY space.
    APPEND ls_line-info TO lt_top_of_page.
    NB space will put a space between the variables being concatenated but you can use any variable in there eg for a comma separated list etc.
    Hope that helps.

    In addition to this rather than trying to use offsets to position the text within the variable, you could use the SHIFT command as follows:
    SHIFT ls_line-info RIGHT DELETING TRAILING space.
    If you insert this between the CONCATENATE and APPEND statements above it should right-justify the text within the ls_line variable.
    Kind regards

  • Report with Title and sub-title

    I am looking for a way to create a report with a title and a sub-title inside the same border.
    I need a title in the title bar then some text under the title bar that describes the report and then the column headings followed by the data. So far the only way I can come close is to use two regions. The only problem with this approach is that there is not a border around the whole thing.
    The basic look is the same as the Substring report in the Edit Page Template page of App Express.

    Have you tried using the Region Header text for the report/form region?

  • Reduce White Space below Site Title and Above Site Content

    On a SharePoint Online site wiki home page, I'm in need of a Script Editor snippet that will reduce the amount of white space below the site title and the start of the body/content of the site.  (see attached image).  Thanks!

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to reduce white space in the site title below.
    We can use CSS to achieve it, the following CSS style for your reference:
    <style>
    .ms-rte-layoutszone-inner{
    height:0px;
    </style>
