To the MOD's - What Happened to an Encore Post in CS5?

I went to reply to a post in the CS5 forum, regarding First Play in Encore. My first line was to post (or have it moved) to the Encore Forum, with a link, and then some comments for the OP to consider, and info to provide along the way. When I hit Post Reply, it was not possible. The post was gone, but after an hour, has not appeared in the Encore forum. I assumed that it was being moved, but with a Refresh every 10 mins. it has yet to appear in Encore, where it belonged.
I'm about to just blow off the replies, which I Copied and Pasted into NotePad, and the OP is one there own.

I have seen the on/off connection too.
Initially, I accessed that particular thread, and responded with a link to the Encore Forum, plus a request for some more info, but could not post the reply. I did a Copy/Paste into NotePad, and then tried again, but could not even access the thread, though it still appeared in the list. OK, I thought, Jeff was in the process of moving it to the Encore Forum, and I went looking for it there - it never showed, but still appeared in the CS4 and Earlier forum for a very long time, but with no ability to access it.
Have not checked Encore this AM, and maybe it just some time to get it moved, and its now waiting for us there.
This AM (July 13) there have been a few of those slowdowns, but they have been brief and fleeting, and no log-outs.
I was just curious if Jeff, Jerry.K, Curt, et al, were aware of that thread, and knew where it had gone. Unless I missed something big-time, there was no spam, or other, to warrant it being deleted, or locked.

The other 2 applications open like normal. All three give me info.

They all list Apr 3 as the last time opened. That was when I upgraded to Mavericks. I certainly used pages and numbers since then as I have alot of my work files on this computer?
Just very odd. I did find my original iWorks disc from when I bought the computer. I'm assuming i can reinstall it. Will try that. Thank you for all your help. Would still like to know what did happen?

Would doing the "Reset" under General settings do that? When I returned from Europe I reset my ipad to get it in the right time zone etc.

Reboot. Press and hold the home and sleep buttons until the apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider.

Once something similar happened to me. The external drives I had set up for FCP to use for some reason were not mounted, and FCP put all its render files on the main drive and I couldn't find them anywhere.
Go to applications, and control-click (and hold down) on your FCP icon; you should get a pop up menu that says "show package contents". Select that, select the "contents" folder, then the "mac OS" folder. See if your quicktime file is in there, or if you've got render files in the "render" folder or audio render files in the "audio render" folder that don't belong there.
That's where FCP sticks stuff when your documents FCP project folders are not available or when external drives you've selected aren't available.

Firefox updated and now when I try to open up a web page, Firefox completely closes the browser. When I open it back up, it asks to restore the session. What happened???!!

When you bring up the browser and type in Church of God's Messengers, it brings up the links. When you click on the links, it closes Firefox completely. When you bring back up Firefox it asks you if you want to restore the session. I never used to have problems accessing the site. What happened???!!!

Go up to the "View" menu, and pull down the "Columns" and "Sort by" menu options. Do you see what you want there? When you say "Address" do you mean "From?"

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

The short answer is "yes, BUT…"
DVX-100 is a DV camera, thus it only captures DV. You can export your DV sequence to whatever format you desire, like HDV (a consumer-level version of HD), but that doesn't mean it will look as good as footage natively shot in HD. You gain no quality at all, in fact you lose quality due to scaling the footage up from the DV to HDV framesize. There are workflows for upconverting your DV footage to HDV or HD posted all over this forum and elsewhere on the Net. A quick search should give you some insight into the process.

Repeatedly crashes. What I ended up doing was using a backup Final Cut Projects file and jettisoning this one with the glitch. Luckily, nada much lost. I've had a couple of these weird glitches happen in the Timeline, esp. when dealing with compound audio-only clips & some fx's and rather than spending mega time trying to fix the problem, I bail and start again, and try to be more methodical in my approach.

My iPhone 4S crashed and then went into recovery mode. What happened?

So I was using my iPhone today, and the screen wouldn't turn on. I assumed it had frozen and power-cycled it using the power- and home-buttons. Then I turned it back on, and it told me to plug my iPhone into iTunes. So I did, and iTunes attempted to update my device to iOS 8.1.3 (which it already had). It couldn't, and I had to restore my device to factory settings and then I had to restore from a backup. I'm curious as to why this happened?
Side note: When I plugged iPhone into iTunes, the serial number was marked as n/a, and instead of "[my name]'s iPhone" it was named iPhone 4S. Why is this? What happened?

Try plugging it in to iTunes. If I'm correct, when you plug it into your computer and open iTunes it should say "Device in Recovery Mode" or something. The only negative is that the only option from there is to restore your phone. If you have an iCloud backup you should be able to restore and back up once again and have the same data.
