    The hole you are describing is known. There are certain teams working on it. So far, we do not have any public statement or ETA for the fix. None of the moderators are in a position to provide a fix for this problem.
    The best thing I can suggest is to ask CS to escalate it. If they refuse, ask to escalate again and again, until they do this.

    Following up my initial post about the Reward system, here and here are very good examples of how someone new to the forum posts a question, receives guidance, suggestions etc. resolving the problem, and in turn marks the thread (at least as of now) "answered".
    Seems like something very counter-intuitive happens with the current Reward system that is unproductive for best measuring helpful participation.
    I like ~Bee's suggestion from the above referenced post eliminating the "answered" option; instead making the option either "solved" or "helpful".
    Thoughts? Comments? Thanks

    Not that I don't agree with you, at the contrary, and I even saw once, one OP who used to reward before but who doesn't do it anymore.
    But putting this in a larger perspective, I think the points system works quite well enough now, and that our Mods and Admins must be busy enough on some other (now) more urgent issues.

    Although your "percentages feelings" are shared, although it is true that many of my "useful" or "solved" replies are not rewarded, still my Status Level points counting grows faster now than in the Old Discussions, where I was as active and using quite the same forums.
    In the old discussions, positive votes and voting counting were added "officially" at a random rate of 1/5, but in fact the rate was not more than 1/20...
    I think the "non-rewarded" vs "rewarded" rate today is somewhere between these 1/5 and 1/20, that is, better than before, and that's why my points total grows faster in the New Discussions.
    If everything was always awarded, soon we'd have to change the Level requirements to higher values IMO, or soon everybody would become a Level 5.
    I know I'm not being too logical here, but that's because priority is responsiveness and reducing those !@#$% daily maintenance breaks...

    But that only OP can participate in quality-awarding is another matter.
    I think there should be a way to award a useful post, even if we are not the Original Poster.
    But because the good old Voting system is definately perverted IMO (in many obvious and non-obvious ways), I think the new system, "OP-based", is better,
    except:
    we still should be able to mark as Helpful, in a very limited way, like only five times a day for example and not gaining/giving points.
    Personally I prefer the voting system from a logical point of view,
    but,
    I'm afraid the Real World has reached the Discussions, because in reality I feel better now that the system is theoretically unfair.
    Because the "wrong points" feeling comes from innocent/lazy OPs, not anymore from cheating and perverting.
    Please don't laugh too loud, and call that "thoughts" if you please...

    Hi all
    If we post a code tutorial or a blog the points were awarded but not the same points for all the content,It differs based on the quality of the blog or tutorial
    My concern is like while awarding the points the moderators should give some comments like why this much point is awarded even if it is more or less,It would be great for the posters to improve in the forthcoming contents
    Just simply awarding points without comments doesnt look good

    It seems a valid point and I think it will be really good for the contributors to know why they received less points.
    In many a cases I have noticed that there is be some sort of comment if people have received more points as "Topic of the Month", "Featured on the SDN Homepage" etc..

    If nothing happens does that mean the moderators think the thread is all fine?
    Or at least isn't sufficiently problematic as to warrant removal.
    Also will I get an email something happens?
    Normally that only happens if you're the originator of the thread. Since you are for the referenced thread, you may get a notification if the Hosts decide to remove the entire thread. If they just prune it of extraneous material, you probably will not receive any sort of notfication.

    In my (very) humble opionion, if there are moderators, there aren't enough of them, and they aren't doing much around here. Why isn't there a system to become a BBS moderator much like there is a system to become a TU? Speaking only for myself (who wishes no part in being a TU or a dev), I would love to be a moderator on the forums, but never saw anything about how I would become one or even who to talk to if I was interested.
    And yes, this is slightly OT, but I think it's relevent.

    Nah. Historically, moderation was done by the devs, but they kind of don't post here much anymore. When I resigned as a dev, I volunteered to stay on as the first moderator, although rasat was already an admin by then, and was also doing moderation tasks. If things seem out of hand here we'd pull a fifth onto the team.
    Also, has there been any consideration as to section based moderators (which a lot of larger forums do),
    Yeah, we did that for a while, but it tended to be over-organized. A KISS approach works better.
    Just some thoughts to toss around next time you have a super-secret-in-a-dingy-bar meeting that no one sees.
    Its not meant to be a secret -- we do have a forum that is moderator only. It rarely gets posted to.

    I'm writing these because is very frustrating to see that nobody enforces the rules of the forum...
    -Duplicated posts everywhere
    -People don't bother to do the minimal research before posting a thread
    -Single line questions 
    -Average 1 out of 20 posts is rewarded accordingly
    -Point lurkers that repeat the same answer again and again...
    -People asking for tips and documents for interviews
    -People asking for documentation without even checking Marketplace or Help.sap.com
    I don't know you, but i think SDN is becoming very messy and i can't see anything been done to keep the order.

    Your critique is always welcome.  Here, and via comments to [email protected]
    I would advise though being a bit more specific when describing your experiences.
    Statements such as: "nobody enforces the rules of the forum" and "i can't see anything been done to keep the order" might be too general in that they don't address your specific experiences or concerns in a particular area but rather speak of all forums.
    We have many moderators, many areas and some might be more "orderly" or "enforced" than others.  I looked at some of your posts and wonder if your experience is based on the Netweaver AS forum.  Is this a particular area of concern?
    More importantly, ( and in the spirit of your request to keep order), may I suggest that since your post is a duplication of dozens of contents already posted here and in comments and suggestions...
    you consider looking at the most recent threaded discussion in this very forum
    My rant about standard of questions and answers .  There  you might wish to join folks who are discussing practical solutions.

    Their moderators limp along saying "it's on the roadmap, bla bla bla" but nothing after 18 months...Seriously!
    I'm getting de ja vu.
    I would at least expect some intervention or help or advice (practical please...not the call centres...not emailing bt care....don't get replies.
    I wouldn't want this forum to be just a place to sound off...Expect some help from your peers but DEFINITELY NEED OFFICIAL HELP IN RESOLVING ISSUES
    my message to them is....don't be as customer offensive as Sky.... BELIEVE IN BETTER

    Still the replies are unfeignedly awaited.
    As I took the meaning of "Suggestions and Discussion", that I can share my joy-sorrow-guilt-pleasure- etc to the community here, and they will  also posture their opinion over it. The only thing that I may have done wrong is I should have post it to Coffee Corner instead of Discussion and suggestion. But locking the thread has really made me more confused. And confused mind can raise any tickle.
    And it is matter of closing the threads such must stopped any replies to it. Then why these ones, pasted below are still open.

    It will not affect on my participation/activation at SDN at all.

    Well, I tried and failed. Like a child, I volunteered, but without luck as they seem to prefer SAP employees only!
    Really? I'm both a Moderator and Mentor...And not an SAP Employee...I think it depends on your participation in the Community...The more you participate, the more you get goodies -;)
    BTW...I have been away from SCN for two strong reasons...
    1.- Need to spent time with my wife and daugther.
    2.- Projects are getting harder and no time for the web.
