That's a problem that all users of a second-hand Mac released after the OS X Lion launch have. OS X, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand are registered to the Apple ID the first owner used to register the computer, so you can't use them legally without repurchasing them. Furthermore, there's a bigger problem: you have to get iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand on a DVD, because the App Store makes impossible to purchase these applications on a second-hand Mac.
Nothing will happen if they are already installed, but you won't be able to reinstall and update them, so I recommend you to delete them and buy iLife '11 on a DVD to install the applications from there. Also, take note that you can't also reinstall OS X, so if OS X gets damaged, you will have to take your computer to an Apple Store.
Open  > About this Mac, and tell us the OS X version you have. If you are using OS X Lion, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion with your Apple ID, so then you will be able to reinstall OS X

I can call my ipad with my iphone alll the time. That's how I check up on my kids at home when I"m at work. You just set up to your iphone's facetime setting with your phone number and set up your ipad's facetime settings with your apple id (in this case it's your email)

Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? If that doesn't work, try resetting the network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
If that fails, you may possibly have damaged the SIM. Verizon will need to give you a new one.

They said I need to change my settings to NAT settings. I haven't been able to figure out or find anything. I have also spoken to Apple Support on the phone for hours without being able to figure out how to do this ( i don't think he knew much either lol.) Please help me because I've got about 15-20 devices in my house that require to be connected to the internet and this is just making things ridiculously slow and painful for me.

if you set up only iMessage account, you cannot change the status, because iMessage has no status.
You should set up another service (for example AIM) with status service. Initially I didn't understand this "issue" too, but it is correct.

You're ignoring context. On the old Apple Discussion Groups I never posted replies like that, instead giving people relatively detailed answers. The new Apple Support Communities made things worse by introducing certain inefficiencies. Then came Lion. The flood of messages that came with Lion required a painful choice for any of the people who had been helping here: (1) Give quality responses to a few questions and ignore the rest. People who needed help with Lion problems seemed to have trouble discovering existing message threads that described how to solve their problems. If this is the problem following the instruction. Frequently it is a hardware problem.
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
Otherwise try (assuming that other devices see your network)
- A reset. Nothing wil be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power of and then back on your router.
- Reset network settings: Settings>Genral>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. I am also having problems with a site I am building. No matter what websafe font I use it displays as New Times Roman in FireFox. The correct fonts show in both IE9 and Chrome.
In addition, text shifts in FireFox. I have to position other text objects farther and farther apart as I go down the page or they start to overlap. Nav buttons and other images also have to be positioned in the wrong place for them to be in the correct place when the page is opened in FireFox. FireFox should display pages correctly by default. I can't expect th average user to have to tweek his/her settings to display my site.
I have been recommending FireFox on my website as the best browser. I might have to change that and abandon FireFox myself.

I've got a similar problem. iTunes v10.2 worked fine, but when I tried to update it to 10.5 I got a 'Bonjour' error. I eventually solved that but I still couldn't upgrade to 10.5, so I deleted every single Apple, Quicktime, iTunes, etc file on my PC using Revo Unistaller (because the normal Windows Add/Delete programs wouldn't work) but now, when I install the latest iTunes version from scratch (on XP SP3), it says: "the installer encountered errors before it could be configured.... your system has not been modified"
Any ideas?

Check the setting in System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > mouse options.. button > check scrolling.
If you have an older mouse with the trackball, it might just need cleaning. Turn the mouse over and rub the trackball vigorously on paper or microfiber cloth.
