TOC selection jumps out of range

Hi. I’m using RoboHelp 5, and I noticed an oddity in
one of my WebHelp system TOCs.
The TOC has many books, and the help system, when displayed
from our software, is quite small. I don’t have the option of
changing the window size.
Clicking on most books works as expected. You click a book,
the associated topic opens, and the book expands to show the topics
inside. When you click on one of the books, however, the associated
topic opens, and the book jumps down below the lower window border
so it, and the topics within it, are completely out of view. If I
expand the help window to make it longer, the problem stops
happening.
Has anyone ever seen this kind of a problem? If so, is there
a fix that doesn’t involve increasing the size of the help
window?
Thank you.

Unless someone has resolved this recently, this is the way it
works when you have TOC synch turned on and the TOC is longer than
the height of the frame.
I spent some time looking, without success, for the code that
RH uses when it reloads the TOC, searches for the topic to
highlight and sets the highlight flag. Why doesn't it scroll the
TOC after that?
Depending on how you generated WebHelp (DHTML, Java Applet),
the TOC list may be split into two or more files and RH assembles
it on the fly. Maybe this prevents the TOC from scrolling down to
the highlighted topic.
When you tell some doctors your arm hurts when you raise it
"like this," the doctor tells you to stop raising it "like this."
If Adobe will accept this as a "bug," there's some hope.
Good luck,
Harvey

If you are selecting multiple entities, please use
*SELECT (%ENTITY%, "ID", "ENTITY", "ID in ('%ENTITY_SET%')")
instead of the first line of the script.
If you want to specify the application, please use
    *APP  WHAT=PLANNING;WHERE=PLANNING;USING=PLANNING;TOTAL=PLANNING
The syntax you have used wont work.
*APP is an optional parameter. Please use it only if its necessary.

  • Sudden jump out from selection screen (APO)

    Hello,
I've developed a report which displays data in an ALV grid. When executing the program everything works fine but when the test user runs through the transaction code something goes wrong. The selection screen appears and you can enter desired selection criteria but when executing the report it just jumps out to the main SAP start page. Does anyone know how to fix this?
The settings for the transaction code seems to be alright...
    Type: Report transaction
    Sel. screen: 1000
All SAP GUI are ticked (HTML, JAVA and WINDOS)
Appreciate all help I can get in this matter.
    Best regards,
    Mia

    Thank you for your tips!
The test user has already been granted the role necessary to run the transaction, according to our SAP security people, but there might be some additional authorization needed.
SU53 does not log anything when executing the transaction and no output validation is written in the select screen. I'm using a standard ALV class to display retrieved records and have had no problem with it previously.
    Best regards,
    Mia

  • Sometimes when I tried to selecting a game from my folder in my iphone 5, it will jump out and back to the home page. Why is it like this?

Why is it when sometimes I tried to select a game to play on my iphone, it jumps out back to my homepage?

    Hi lammyrock,
I want to let you know to be patient as this troubleshooting can take some time depending on many different. First try putting your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. To do that, you can that by making sure that your iPhone is turned off, hold the Home button down while it is plugged into iTunes. You should get the graphic on your iPhone to plug it into iTunes and iTunes should prompt you to restore it. Once that is done and if you have a back up in iTunes or in iCloud, then you can put that back on after the restore is complete. Take a look at the article below for more information to help you.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • Clicking on TOC Item Jumps to Previous Identical Entry. How to highlight the selected one?

    Win 7, 64 bit
    RH 9 (latest patch)
    HtmlHelp (CHM) output
I have many TOC pages that are identical.
For example, in our software some toolbar icons are repeated on different screens. In the built CHM help, if I click on a later identical page reference in our TOC, the TOC automatically jumps focus to the first entry. It doesn't stay on the selected entry.
This causes confusion as all of a sudden the user is in an entirely different context. How can I get it to highlight the selected item and not jump to the first reference?

    Hi Jared
Note that this issue is generically related to any help system and isn't a "RoboHelp specific thing". When multiple points in a Table of Contents reference the same page, how is the system supposed to determine exactly which TOC node is the correct one?
The way past this is to create multiple distinct nodes from the TOC to the topic.
One way involves never creating an actual link from the TOC to the topic. Instead, create as many distinct topics as you need in the TOC and have them redirect to the desired topic. The bottom line is that the correct page is presented and the correct TOC node is highlighted.
Another way involves a similar approach. Create distinct topics that simply present an inline frame (IFRAME) that has the single "real" topic.
Yet another way involves another variation. Create a Snippet that is essentially the single entire topic. Then create distinct topics that only contain the snippet.
    Hope this helps... Rick

  • Macs Won't Forget Refresh Rate - LCD Refresh Out of Range

I have a new Viewsonic LCD for an old G4. I had to use an ADC to DVI adapter.
The first time I booted up my Mac, the monitor worked fine. I went into the Display Preferences and, like an idiot, I selected 90 hz because, like an idiot, I thought 90 hz was better than 60 hz.
My screen went black and the monitor said "Frequency out of range", etc. I have talked to AppleCare and I have tried everything and nothing I do gets this Mac to revert to 60 hz at 1280 x 1024.
    Tried zapping PRAM, didn't work.
Tried booting into Safe Mode and selecting another resolution. I do that, reboot, it reboots in that lower resolution. I select 1280 x 1024 and my screen goes black because it's going into that 90 hz.
    Created another account, didn't work.
I plugged in my old CRT into the VGA port. I was able to select 1280 x 1024 at 60 hz. Turned off the Mac. Plugged in the LCD. Turned the Mac back on and it went black.
It does this when you log in. The actual bootup is in 1280 x 1024 60 hz. I get the login screen fine. It's when I log in, into any account, it goes back to that 90 hz mode.
In Windows, if you select a resolution or refresh rate, a dialog comes up asking you if this mode is OK and if after 15 seconds you don't click on anything, it reverts back to the original resolution. Apple doesn't want to do that, I guess, because they want me to use their monitors.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

You should probably just trash the preferences file(s). That will give you a fresh start with the Viewsonic. See this thread:

  • Error opening web analysis report in workspace: Array index out of range:2

I am able to view this report in web analysis studio with no errors..Its only when I go to workspace and open report do I get following error: Array index out of range:2.
    Any suggestions?

Have you tried checking the "Design for HTML" from the Edit toolbar to see if you get any error when saving?
Do you have any advanced items on the report, as there are 4 types of differences between Studio and HTML:
    - font differences, Workspace (DHTML) uses the WA Server fonts whereas WA Studio client machine fonts.
    - Service Buttons are very restricted using Workspace
    - Display: Tab selection, Splitter panels, Slider selection do not render in Workspace
    - Cannot restrict WA Tools menu in Workspace at all, where you can in the Studio.

  • After upgrading to 10.6.3 TV is only showing "out of range" message

After upgrading to 10.6.3 my TV (Sharp 37XDE1) is only showing the message "out of range".
Before upgrading I had no problems.
Connection is via MiniDisplay Port to HDMI Adapter from iMac 24" or MacBook Pro 13".
The "Out of range" message could be an indicator that the resolution or the signal speed is not matching properly. I tried to get the signals and resolution in line with the SwitchResX utility but without success.
(TV monitor was recognized by the display preferences and SwitchResX)
    Any ideas whats wrong?

    HI,
If you didn't repair disk permissions after you updaed to 10.6.3, do that now.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Out of range...How do I know for sure?

Installed WRT150N wireless router between DSL modem and computer. No problem doing so using setup CD that came with the router. Solid intenet connection. (Wired)
Installed WMP300N wireless card in comp 100 feet away in another frame building. Also used setup CD that came with the card. Card seems to have installed ok. Also used Easy Link Advisor and Wireless Network Monitor - But Monitor Link Info Tab - has message...
"Cannot Associate with the Access Point."
    Signal Strength box is blank
    Link Quality box is blank
    On Profiles Tab -
Profile and wireless network name fields are blank ( Empty)
"Scan" or "Connect" works but produces nothing.
Monitor states adapter is Active; green light on back of card is blinking. (Scanning)
It's like there is no wireless signal anywhere close!?
I don't know what's going on. I used the main wired comp to "try and Add" the computer to the network but that didn't work either.
I can't find a thing wrong and have spent hours reading FAQ's. Woof, no joy.
It looks to me like the comp/wireless card is just too far away from the wireless router to pick up a signal from it or a firefly has more power in his little butt!? Beats me but it's "wireless N" technology ( touting ideal conditions of 1400 feet line of sight ) and its totally out of range at 100 feet ... between two frame buildings?
Any ideas? I would like some sort of prize offered to the person that has actually connected with the most distance between them/their comp and the wireless router.  I know 100 feet is no joy. Anybody have a connection at 95 feet? Raise your hand! I'd like to know..I bet a lot of us would!
(Hey linksys, what I gotta do...Load the comp in a wagon towing an extension cord to see how close I can get to the router before the card finds a signal and connects? (Now theres an idea! Makes me wish I had a lappy.) The up side is the security...one might be able to park over this router and not get a connection. Hahaha
( Don't jump on me...respect your elders..I'm 60 with a tricky ticker! Not doing my blood pressure any good...)
Ain't this supposed to be an excellent brand...You don't like "ain't", Ok...arsn't this supposed to be an excellent brand of equipment?
Does this sound like out of range to you? Anyone?
    Thanks,
    Thu

On router change radio band to standard, and standard channel to 11. Change advanced wireless settings : change beacon interval to 50, fragmentation threshold to 2306, RTS threshold to 2307, DTIM to 2. On computer instead of using linksys WLAN monitor, switch to windows XP's client WZC. It might connect after that.

  • Out of range output video size ?

    Hello,
I would like to use a camera which has a large output size, more than 1920x1080.
    When I select the camera, I've a message :
Out of range output video size
One or more output video width and height are out of range. Please provide video size in range 80x60 to 1920x1080.
Is it a limitation of FMLE or FMS ? (I think it's FMLE because the message appears even if the "save to file" is the only publishing format selected)
Is there a way to edit a confugration file to remove this limit ?
    Best regards,

why don't you change that background to what you want in desktop system preferences when the second monitor is connected? different monitors have different desktop backgrounds and they remember the settings from the last time they were connected.

  • VGA display "out of range"

I searched through the postings, and didn't see anything quite like this. I have a new Mini Core 2 duo and an old Kogi VGA 1280x1024 @60htz monitor. The monitor works fine with my iBook G4, and worked fine with my son's Quicksilver dual 867. When I boot the Mini, I get the normal grey screen (though a very magnified version), and then a message "out of range H 53.8 V 85.3."
I tried to find an adjustment on the monitor that would effect some change, but there is nothing. I tried booting the mini in target mode from the iBook to see if I could boot the iBook from the Mini and change the resolution. Obviously, that was a stretch and didn't work. I have never booted this Mini before, and I do not have another monitor to try. suggestions?
    Thanks!

Try booting the mini in Safe mode again. Not from the CD but rather from the hard drive. Assuming you get a useable screen, go into Displays preferences and select the correct resolution (1280 x 1024 at 60Hz). Then restart the mini normally. Hopefully the setting of 1280 x 1024 will persist through the restart.
In Displays preferences, how is the monitor identifed? Does it have a generic identifier or is it identified by name/model?

  • Frequency out of range although set correctly

Every now & then I get the dreaded frequency out of range box up, although it's set at the correct frequency in system preferences. I have a mac mini 4.1 intel core duo 2.4ghz. although my monitor is a Fujitsu siemens 21" screen. didn't have any trouble till updated to last 2 O/S's. Is there a fix?

Was Keynote configured to "Present on a secondary display", by selecting the checkbox in the Preferences menu? Did you try to play your presentation? Also in the Displays preference did you click Arrange and follow the onscreen instructions? Generally you should see your desktop image (but not your desktop icons) after connecting to the projector. I set my desktop image to the background image I'm using for my presentation. I usually play the first few slides of my presentation to insure everything is working correctly.

The Best thing in Life is Life

    Since the Variable
BLDCHKDT and BLDCHTIME are of type date time why are you trying to assign it a value
    of type varchar
and the format 105 gives you dd-mm-yyyy but SQL server takes the default format as mm-dd-yyyy so the error occurs for all dates that
    are greater than 12
    try the below code
    Declare
    @hdrLOCAL char(255),
    @CR char(255),
    @BLDCHKDT Varchar(50),
    @BLDCHTIME Varchar(50),
    @hdrline int
    SELECT @hdrLOCAL = DDLINE FROM DD40400 WHERE INDXLONG =1
    SELECT @CR = DDLINE FROM DD40400 WHERE INDXLONG =2
    SELECT @hdrline =1
    SELECT
    @BLDCHKDT = CONVERT(varchar(20),T756.PAYDATE,105) ,
    -- convert(varchar,getdate(),15)
    @BLDCHTIME= CONVERT(varchar(20),T756.PAYDATE,105)

  • The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.

Below select statement results in "The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out of range value"   error. By the way Terms
    field's data type is nvarchar
     SELECT * from INVOICE
    where convert(datetime,Terms)
    BETWEEN
    '01/01/14'
    and
    '01/30/15'

If you can't use TRY_CONVERT (It's only available in 2012+) You should be able to validate the data with something like this (based on your example date formats):
    DECLARE @notDate TABLE (Terms NVARCHAR(10))
    INSERT INTO @notDate (Terms) VALUES
    ('01/01/14'),('02/29/14'),('01/32/15'),('13/13/14'),('13/3/14'),('13-13/14'),('02/29/12'),('02/29/13')
    SELECT *,

  • Console errors (multiple, 60-some) -- "value of separation out of range"

    I have a long, 128 page chapter.
I was getting a "font not found, substitute Times New Roman for MS Shell Dlg 2" console message when I
    opened the file.
An online search turned up the suggestion that if you can't actually find the font in your doc, to get rid of it, saving the file as MIF, and opening
and re-saving to FM, might solve the problem. ("If the font isn't really there to begin with.")
It didn't work. The console error message from opening the MIF file says, **The "MS Shell Dlg 2" Font is not available. "Times New Roman"
will be used in this session.**
On top of which, that same console error window also has about 60 lines with a different numerical variation of:
MIF: "K:\Technical Publications Current Projects\00 yadda yadda filename.mif" (126817): Value of Separation out of range (11).
The messages are all the same, only the six digit numbers in parantheses change.
I'm on a (relatively) NEW Dell Precision T1500 box with 64 bit Win 7 & FM 9.0p255. All graphics in the file were imported by reference into
anchored frames from a "graphics n pix" folder in the same directory as the FM file.
....I don't know if this is really a problem or not, but the filie does take a heck of a long time to open, and there's
usually a paranthetical note in the window top bar, following the FM file name, that says Windows (not responding.)
Which goes away when the file does open. (In 2 or 3 minutes? Haven't put a stopwatch on it....)
This file is just one of many similarly sized docs, so I'm a little worried about what might happen when they're all collected
    into the book file.
Any suggestions, info or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks. If the font isn't found -- for whatever reason, in whatever kind of object -- could I do
a workaround by installing the missing font? In this case, MS Shell Dlg 2. (Whatever the
heck that is, assuming I can find it available somewhere.)
...Oops, wait, MS Shell Dlg 2 isn't really a font at all, here's what I found:
The following is an excerpt from the Microsoft   MSDN Library, April 2000:
“MS Shell Dlg is a mapping   mechanism that enables U.S. English Windows NT/Windows 2000 to support   locales that have characters that are not contained in code page 1252.   It is not a font but a face name for a nonexistent font. It can be specified   in either the Windows NT/Windows 2000 Setup file during the installation   process or when customizing a local system by double-clicking Control   Panel's Regional Options icon. When you double-click the icon, click the   Set default ... button in the General sheet of the Regional Options dialog   box. Select the appropriate locale in the Select System Locale dialog   box and click OK, then restart the system. The appropriate change occurs   in the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows   NT\Current Version\FontSubstitutes
A benefit of font mapping   in the registry is that you can change the font for the entire shell by   simply changing one .inf file entry. For example, localization for Asia   is much easier because you can change the .inf file entry, instead of   changing every instance of MS Sans Serif in every .rc and .dlg file, and   the change is complete without rebuilding any binaries. Win32-based applications   that contain multiple language resources that cross character-set boundaries   can also take advantage of this feature. It is also useful when you have   an English application in which supporting multiple languages and character   sets is important.
So in this case, the workaround is to find and change an ".inf file entry?"
