Toggling between active windows

Hello all,
I can't seem to toggle between active windows. I'm trying the cmd+shift+, and the cmd+shift+. which I'm told is the correct shortcuts on both the Premiere help site and the preferences within the software, but I can't seem to get it to work.
I'm obviously doing something stupid and/or wrong.
Thanks in advance.

> I've never seen a keyboard with both, so I'm confused about how you
could have tried CMD+SHIFT if you then tried CTRL+SHIFT.  If you had the
latter, you should not have had the former.
Macs have both a Control key and a Command key. The Control key is the less-often-used one on the Mac, but it's there.
An additional confusion: I use a Mac running Windows (using Bootcamp) as my primary work computer. This means that I use the Mac Control key as the Windows Ctrl key.

Is there any keyboard shortcut for toggling between Activity table and activity detail windows. It if frustrating to use mouse while tweaking relationships of activities.

Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts for this. Prior to the Oracle acquisition, Primavera had it as a goal for R7 to allow the operator to keep their hands on the keyboard most of the time, but this feature didn't make it into the final code. I feel your pain!

  • Can I toggle between Safari windows?

    Hello,
I know that you can toggle between different applications with command-tab, but can you toggle between multiple windows of the same app? Moving different safari windows around to find the right one is driving me bonkers. I know you can toggle between tabs, but sometimes you just have to have a new window!
    Thanks!

You can go to your system preferences and select "Dashboard & Expose". Then assign one of the corners of the display to "All Windows" so that when you hover your mouse over that corner, all of your open windows are shown and you can click on the one you want to bring forward. But the "Tabs" are a great idea too.

  • Cycle only between active windows

Is there a way to make command-tab only cycle through windows that are active? I don't want it to cycle through programs that are hidden and do not have open windows, but I can't figure out if this is possible. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Not that I know of, but you can use Expose (F9 is the default, I believe) to show all open windows, then click on one, or use the Tab key to move around to activate the one you want.

  • Toggling Between Windows

    Hi All,
Does anyone know if there is a key function that enables you to toggle between windows of 1 program. For example toggle between all your open Safari browser pages? Something like "apple + tab" but for toggling between open windows in one application?
    Many thanks,

  • Simple-how can I toggle between screens

Ok...this is really simple, or it should be. Can I change a preference anywhere on my Mac to where I can not only toggle between programs with the "apple key + tab" shortcut, but toggle between open windows within a program?
For example, if i have iTunes open and Safari open I can toggle (switch screens/windows) between the two with the "apple key + tab" command but I cannot toggle between screens WITHIN a program. If I have Word open and I am working on two documents and I want to go from the forward window that I am working in to the window behind it I have to manually, with the mouse point and click on the window at the back.
Is there a preference I can change somewhere on my Mac or no? I've looked but maybe I'm not looking in the right place.
    Curlz

Who says it's undocumented? It is documented several places. In Mac Help, search for "Keyboard shortcuts"; select "Full keyboard navigation" or "Shortcuts for windows" -- this is documented both places and probably others as well.
Also, in System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts, you can change shortcuts, or disable them, or just see what they are currently set to.

  • Microsoft Word consistently becomes active window when clicking between dual screens and programs

    13" MBP
    2.3 ghz i5
    8GB Ram
    Running 10.9.2
    Microsoft Word 2011
Dual screens with amazon Mini Display to VGA adapter
When I am running word between an external monitor and my MBP, Microsoft word always interrupts any clicks between programs and between screens to become the active window. This is especially annoying when I am trying to navigate between MacMail and Chrome, or any other programs.
The problem doesn't exist when I click between programs on the MBP, but only when I select windows between the two screens. Or programs on the external monitor.
Word is up to date, as is my MBP.
Please don't punt me to Microsoft, they're the worst!
    Thanks!

There is a workaround for this problem, which was posted by Highestwater on the Microsoft Community thread for this bug and worked for me as well:
    Go to
System Preferences > Mission Control >
and UN-check the box labeled "Displays have separate Spaces" (see image below)
The original poster on this thread may already be aware of this workaround, because he/she mentioned that the "separate Spaces" option is checked. But if you can live without the extra Mavericks dual display features (like going full screen in 1 display only, switching spaces independently on each display, and having a menu bar on each display), then uncheck this option and the "stealing focus" bug seems to disappear. For me the bug is so annoying that it's worth it to lose the extra features. Just yesterday I closed a Word document I was working on by mistake because I clicked on a Finder window on my other display and immediately pressed command-w to close it, without realizing that the focus had switched to my word document which closed instead. It was saved, but this sort of stuff interrupted my work enough to be both an annoyance and a time drain.

  • Toggling order between open windows?

It used to be that when I used Command-` to toggle between windows in Safari, they would toggle in the order I opened them. Now that I've upgraded to Snow Leopard Safari the same key command makes Safari toggle randomly through the open windows. It has some idea of how it wants to cycle through them that I don't understand. I can't seem to find a way to change it. The random toggle order doesn't affect any of my other apps. Everything else seems to work the same way it used to except Safari.
    Any ideas?
(Please don't tell me to use tabs instead. I don't like tabs. I prefer windows I can toggle through.)

    Ok...
Works fine here. Check System Preferences / Keyboard - Keyboard Shortcuts.
Perhaps you have a modified shortcut that's causing the problem.
Or maybe a third party Safari add-on?

  • Toggling Between Open Emails -- Keyboard Shortcut

Sometimes I have several emails open at once. The only way I know how to switch between them is to go to the dropdown Window menu. This is a little cumbersome. Is there a keyboard shortcut for toggling between open email windows?
And while I'm at it, is there one for toggling between open Safari windows? I love the Command-TAB way of switching between applications and am looking for something similar.
    Thanks.
    Paul S.

The question is marked as answered, but I don't think it was the answer you wanted. I often have several emails open and want to toggle through them without leaving the keyboard. The Exposé method works, but is not a keyboard shortcut.
Here is how I got it to work:
In System Prefs under Keyboard and Mouse under Keyboard Shortcuts make sure Keyboard Navigation is checked and under that check "Move focus to next window in active application" and then "Command+ tilde" will work!

  • How to change the capture resolution of CaptureDevice and toggle between front and rear camera

Hi. I'm using Visual Studio 2013, and the Windows Phone App template. I'm using the Microsoft.Devices / CaptureVideo API to capture video. I now want to set the resolution to capture the video in a specific(available) resolution. How do I do that?
    Code snippet reference to API:
    CaptureVideo vcDevice = CaptureDeviceConfiguration.GetDefaultVideoCaptureDevice();
and I also want to put a button there to toggle between front and rear camera. If I click the button, and the rear camera is currently active, the front camera must become active and vice versa. How do I do that with this API?
    Thank you.

  • Without Mouse: Toggle between selected timeline video clips- Keyboard Only Method

Simple Question, but can't able to find the answer on  internet.
How do I select the timeline video clip without clicking on it with mouse help?
All I  want to do is, select the video with keyboard only. And switch the cam layer on cut. In other words toggle the selected clip on cut points, with keyboard only.
    Thank you all
    Max

I'm not sure exactly what you mean when you say "the timeline video clip" but here are a few keyboard shortcuts that may help: the q key toggles between the Timeline and the Viewer windows; if the Timeline window is active, the up arrow key moves the Timeline playhead to the previous edit; the down arrow key moves the Timeline playhead to the next edit.

  • Shortcut:  Toggling between Program monitor & timeline?

Can anyone please rell me whether there is a keyboard shortcut to toggle/switch between the program monitor window and the timeline in CS4.  An internet search suggests that it is Crtl + Tab, but that's not working on my laptop.
Premiere provides Shift + 3 as a timeline toggle, but that is designed to cycle through available timelines, rather than switch between windows.
There doesn't seem to be an option to create a custom shortcut.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeff.  Thanks for the reply.
I already use Shift +3 but I was really looking to toggle between the two - such as Ctrl + Tab (which doesn't seem to work!)

  • Drag&Drop between two windows

    Hi
I am interested to know if in the latest version of abap webdynpro it is possible to do drag&drop between two windows?
And if it is possible to have a floating part of a window ( that I can move it around the screen )?
    Thanks
    Nitsan

    Hi
Thank u Thomas and Chris for your helpful answers!
Still there is something I want to be sure about, the interaction that can be done between this floating window
    and the opening window.
Can both window stay active and communicate between them?
Ill give an example of what I mean:
Lets say that I have window with few tables from this window I open another window with a list. now I want to dynamically
move an item from this list to one of the tables in the parent window or move an item from one of the tables to this list.
Can this scenario be implemented in abap webdynpro?
    Thanks,

  • Toggle between open word docments

hi everyone - do any of you know what the shortcut is for switching/toggling between open Word documents with a Mac [OS X]?  I'm currently using Microsoft Word 2011.
COMMAND+TAB allows me to switch btw programs, but not between pages within the same program.
Thank you in advance for your help!

command ` (the key above the tab) is the standard Mac keyboard shortcut for switching between open windows of the same application.
I don't know if Microsft has followed the convention.
