Tomtom car kit bluetooth not working

I cannot get my iPhone 4S to connect to the Tomtom car kit via bluetooth.  The phone searches but does not find the car kit.

I upgraded from the iPhone 4 to the 4S. I got the adapter from TomTom for the iPhone 4. When I insert the 4S, it connects OK and the phone charges. I did the reset of the Bluetooth and the TomTom Car Kit shows up on the iPhone. But when I attempt to pair the car kit using the code 5555 (as stated in the manual), it says the code is incorrect and will not pair.
I've also tried using 0000 as the pairing code, with no success.
So far, TomTom support has been very pleasant but ineffective in providing answers.
Are other people having the same issue? Please respond if so.
Has anyone been able to pair the car kit to an iPhone 4S? If so, PLEASE tell me how you did it?

I have a Nokia 5800 Express Music. It was working perfect in my car Bluetooth system. Recently I updated my software version to 60.0.003.  Now the microphone is not working while using the car Bluetooth system.  I can hear the caller voice but they can’t listen what I say.  All other phones are still working perfect with Bluetooth System. Therefore I think some bug is there with this software update. I tried changing Accessories settings to Headset, Wireless Car Kit etc., but still the problem exist.
Please me to find some way to make the mic working or else help me to downgrade my phone software to earlier version.

    please somebody help.......

  • IPhone 4S not working with TomTom Car Kit

    Hi,
I have the TomTom car kit for 3GS and have just upgraded to iPhone 4S.
I have one of the iPhone 4 adaptors from TomTom for the car kit, but even with this on, and trying some of the other suggestions online about a strip of velcro, I cannot get the cradle and the iPhone 4S to work together.
Has anyone with a 4S managed to use it with the car kit?
    Thanks,
    Graz.

    Hi All
    Right, this is what worked for me;
I had a iPhone 4 running ios 5 and all was fine. Since upgrading my to 4s my TomTom car kit wouldnt regognise the new phone.
Remove the iPhone 4 adapter (retangular stick on thing that comes with the kit specifically for the iphone 4)
turn it over so it is facing the wrong way. You should still have enough stick left behind on the kit itself to stick on again - must be the wrong way around!!
    Job done!!
    Works a treat

  • Cover that will work on touch while using tomtom car kit

    Hi,
JUst got a Tomtom car kit, and trying to find if there is a cover that will fit the touch while its in the tomtom dock, as don't really want to have to keep taking my cover of every time I want to use the tomtom.
    thanks

    Hi illaass,
I tried the suggestions and they do work for Tom Tom car kit.
I had to close the car kit application and restart it until it showed as docked but then worked fine in navfree.
I also disabled wifi on the iPod touch so that it had to use gps
I have now purchased uk Ireland tomtom application.
The palm Bluetooth GPS does not appear in the devices list still though.
Are there any applications that can be bought to support this as car kit is not any good when on foot?
I do have a USB power pack but that means carrying power pack and car kit with iPod docked in it.

  • HT204368 My iPhone 4s will not recognise my TomTom car kit, so I cannot use any of my 3 TomTom apps.  It will not pair, although I have held in the reset button until it beeps, then entered my PIN when instructed.

My new iPhone 4s will not recognise my TomTom car kit, so I cannot use any of my 3 TomTom apps, nor does it give me handsfree as before.  It will not pair, although I have held in the reset button until it beeps, then entered my PIN when instructed.  It also sometimes gives the message that this device is not supported by iPhone (although I have been using it for several years) with my UK and Ireland, Western Europe, and USA and Canada apps.  Just replaced my 4 with a 4S rather than a 5, which won't fit the mounting kit.

From their web site Tom Tom actually offered a converter kit at one point however all it was a 3mm thick bit of plastic with a self adhesive tape backing!

Any ideas I'm pulling my hair out !!!

Seems to be a hardware issue and you'll have to get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider, an Apple Store , to see if other 3rd party charger will work at their place.

  • HT204387 Issue with TomTom Car Kit

I've got a 4th Gen iPod touch.  And I've been using the TOMTOM navagation app and the TOMTOM car kit docking station/GPS.  In the last week, I suddenly started receiving a message on screen
This Accessory is Not Supported by iPod touch
It was and now it suddenly isn't?  Why and how do I get this back to properly working again.
I have followed all of the suggestion from TOMTOM, reset the iPod, deleted and reinstalled the apps, several times now.  The software works other than it no longer works with the Dock (car kit).
Anybody else have this problem, or had it and fixed?  TOMTOM seems to think it's a problem from Apple.
    Thanks
Since writing this, I have upgraded to IOS 6.0.1 on my Touch.  Since doing this I have lost all connectivity to any periferal device that goes through the dock/power connector.  Audio that used to go through doesn't, Navigation that used to go through doesn't. IR remote signals that used to go through don't.  All come back with the "This Accessory is Not Supported by iPod Touch" now.
I have tried this with my Touch 3rd gen as well, to the same degree of success.  It doesn't work with external devices.
So I tried a new approach, the TOMTOM Bluetooth GPS transmitter, this works with all my other computers just fine, specially my MacBook Pro.  But I find it will not pair with any of my Touch's.
Anybody have any success with getting a bluetooth GPS to pair and work with any of the Touch's mapping/navigation software?

  • IOS 4.2.1 messed up my TomTom Car Kit

I have been using a TomTom Car Kit for my iPhone 4 a couple of weeks now. And it has been working great. But after updating iOS to 4.2.1 yesterday the phone keeps on giving me the following message.
"This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone"
"You may experience noise caused by cellurar interference and decrease in cellular signal strenght"
    "Dismiss"
So; Every time i insert my iPhone in the Car Kit i have to "dismiss" the message.
It's not the worst of happenings and i can live with it; but is there a fix for this error other than downgrade my iPhone to the previois version if iOS (if possible).

It seems like it was a coincidence. My friend got the same problem with an iPhone 4 and the TomTom Car Kit; and it was not iOS / iPhone- related at all. Don't know why it happened but i am suspecting the sudden drop of temperature.
This fixed the problem for both of us:
Between the Car Kit and the iPhone 4 there are (or at least should be) an adapter that pushes the phone against the contacts. We both added three layers of ordinary- black electrical tape on the adapter. Making the preassure a litle bitt higher.
Now it works for both of us.

  • Tomtom car kit and audio out

I have a Tomtom car kit which I've been happily using for a few months now. At Christmas I got a new car stereo that has an aux input which is great, as I can now play tunes from my iPhone through the car stereo. However, I can only hear calls through the stereo if I plug the aux cable into the phone itself, not the car kit.
Is this right, or am I missing something? It's slightly annoying, as I can't simply plug the phone into the cradle when I get into the car....I have to plug the aux cable in too.
    Thanks,
    Ed

You are absolutely correct, BUT I have done that at least three time and when I switch on the ignition the **** thing keeps coming up and I have to decline it. I may have to physically remove or disconnect the old bluetooth hands-free system.
    What do you think?

  • Tomtom car kit has stopped charhing the iPhone

A few week ago my Tomtom car-kit cable was damaged. I called support and they were incredibly helpful. A couple of weeks later I got not one but two brand new cables.
Everything works normally except now the car-kit has stopped charging the iPhone. If I move or rotate the charger it makes contact but usually it does not work.
I have another standard car charger which works quite well, and I was thinking that maybe one of Tomtom cables could be faulty but two out of two seems unlikely.
    Any ideas?

    No answers, I give up.

  • IPhone 4 + TomTom Car Kit

    Hi,
does anyone know if the new iPhone 4 fits into the four TomTom Car Kit?
thanks a lot for quick answer!!!
    Sebastian

Since no one here has an iphone 4, it would be impossible to definitively answer your question. My guess is that it will work fine. However, why not contact TomTom directly as they would be in the best position to answer your question right now.

  • TomTom Car kit tool

I bought a TomTom car kit tool for my first iPhone 3G now I have a Ipone 5G.
Of corsse I can't connect the new iphone to TomTom accesory.
I bought a jumper adapter between 30 pin connctor to lighting connector (LIGHTNING TO 30-PIN ADAPTER MD824ZM/A).
Than I discover that iphone 5 dosen't support the tom tom car kit tool.
Why apple don't update the car kit tools application for using with iphone 5?
As is know, this tool contain a aditional GPS which can backup the iPhone GPS without to need the cellular connection.

Why apple don't update the car kit tools application for using with iphone 5?
Because any app would be TomTom 's App not Apple 's
Why doesn't TomTom bring out an iPhone 5 holder .................

  • Bluetooth not working - T61 - PLEASE HELP :(

I read a few of other threads about bluetooth not working on T61.
    What I tried:
Enabling the bluetooth adapter from BIOS (was already enabled)
No light showing up on the front of the laptop (turns on very briefly when I turn the laptop on)
Tried fn+f5 and it wont turn on (wi fi is).
I installed hotkey driver, rebooted a few times, still nothing.
When installing bluetooth driver, it says the device couldn't be found.
I used bluetooth before, then I reinstalled windows 7 and it stopped working.
    Any ideas?

I got the same problem and it seems like Lenovo just don't care about it. I've already installed all the updates from Lenovo and Windows and newest Bluetooth drivers from Broadcom....still nothing.

  • TomTom car kit audio

I currently get very good audio quality from connecting the iPhone directly to a cassette adaptor through the car speakers to play iPod content (2001 BMW M3 Harman Kardon system).
However when I connect the cassette adapter into the line-out of a TOMTOM car kit for music playback (when using sat nav simultaneously), suddenly the audio becomes very distorted, and despite playing around with EQ settings on both the iPod and the car system, cannot manage to obtain decent quality sound.
Unfortunately my car is not modern enough to have a direct audio input, and so the cassette adapter seems the only option for the moment.
Would anyone have any kind suggestions to make it possible to secure good quality sound through the car kit please? Would a better quality cassette adapter help for instance? For what it is worth, I think that the car kit is great for docking, positioning, hands-free calling and enhanced GPS performance - and so it would be a real bonus to secure some quality music playback as well.
Really appreciate your comments, many thanks

    Aaron,
Thanks for your point about volume limits - I raised that with TomTom:
"The level of distortion that I get when playing music through the audio lineout of the car kit is exactly the same as when the volume limit for the iPod is set too high when connecting it directly to the car stereo. This is the reason why you must set a balance of about 70% volume on the iPod and the rest of it set by the car audio volume in order to obtain a clean sound overall.
As soon as you connect the iPod via the car kit lineout, you automatically lose the ability to set volume limits on the iPod, and you can only control the volume using the car system.
There is a volume limit setting on the iPod (through general settings), but this becomes irrelevant as soon as the car kit becomes involved.
Therefore the problem does not lie with the car system or the cassette adapter, it lies with the car kit.
I just wonder why you have to lose the ability to control volume settings on the iPod as soon as you connect to the car kit.
Can you suggest a solution for this?"
    I received the following replies:
"I cannot offer you an immediate suitable solution for this challenge. I have sent your question to our 2nd line technical department.
I hope to have an answer for you as soon as possible, please bear with us while we find a solution for your query."
    And then:
"Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the volume settings once connected to the Car Kit. The only option from that point is on the audio device that the Car Kit connects to."
So it seems there is no solution to our problem - we just have to accept it.
Please let me know if you think of anything else.
    Cheers
