Too much information to display

I am getting results from a database and the number of field to display are so many that they cannot fit in a line.. How do I fit them in the page horizontally ? Vertically I have the rows.. I want to print it.. so it cuts off after a certain point..

If it doesn't fit then it doesn't fit. You can create some kind of paging system so only the first X amount of columns show on the screen and you can provide a link to show the next X amount of columns.

Hello everybody,First of all I have to say that I'm not a Netapp expert as you will see.After some time without receivng the autosupport, with the help of NetApp support we solved that problem.Now I receive daily one mail with performance data and one mail fron each storage. IMovie HD - Trouble! Video is skipping like it has too much information??

On my current iMovie HD project, the Video portion of the playback is skipping during the last song I am working on. It's almost like there is too much information during that song, but I have not added transitions, sound effects, etc to the clips.
I have tried deleting song and adding a different song, same problem. The other 30 minutes of the movie play perfectly.

And I was referring to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 version 9.0.3073. The problem I initially had was linking CR to the server. Thankfully I had a lot of help from the linking forum that helped me with it. I'm running Windows 7 and it appears the operating software has two ODBC one is 32 and the other 64. In the ODBC Data Source Administrator the user DSN is set to the SQL Server.
Back to this problem. Trying to figure out the double item numbers and I have tested it with only that one particular table and did not link it to another. I also have tried it with linking it to other tables to see if somehow that could put a restriction on the information. The parameters really doesn't work here unless I'm setting it up incorrectly. Nor does the Select Expert really do what I need it to do. The options I can choose from: Itemnumber: is any value, is equal to, is not equal to, is one of... nothing gives me the option to say only choose the child if the child was purchased. And I'm not advance enough to figure out a script to do it.
Per sales order (I have the report to group by the sale order number) I need it to list the correct item that was purchased by the customer. The report pulls into the detail section of the report the parent and child item number when only the child item was ordered and not the parent.

Report takes too much time to display information

We have Oracle BI EE 10.1.3.3 on the production environment, and now a problem is appearing in the display of a report in the dashboard.
I already tuned the sentence that get the data, these are three and take 1 minuto, then the display in the dashboard is taking 10 minutos.
What can I do?

I agree with wildmight, you sure are not displaying 10,000 rows in a Dashboard? While you can say that moving a file with 10,000 rows over the networks "takes" 1 second that not a valid test. Try displaying a Web Page with lots of CSS and JavaScript and those 10,000 rows and you will how IE struggles. the web was never designed for massive web pages with 10,000. It works, but it's not a good idea. Consider the following options:
1) Build aggregate tables to display a "summary" of those 10,000 rows. Allow the user to drill down to detail level of them with restricted parameters to only see a sub-set of them.
2) Build an answer query that returns them and schedule an iBot that sends the users an Excel spreadsheet with the rows. Let Excel do the donkey's work on the user's PC, it's good for that kind of stuff.
In my opinion is the your users have a business question that requires an answer that returns 10,000 rows then they have a problem. Ask them what they really want to see and build a dashboard that answers that question.

Auditing all users file access - too much information

Hi, I have enabled a GPO With the following: Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Advanced Audit Policy Configuration\Audit Policies\Object Access -> Audit File System -
Success on a file server.
After that, I have enabled successful Create files/Create Folders on a folder for the built-in group Everyone.
That part works fine, I can see when users are creating files on the folders. But I also get a lot of Extreme amounts of other events logged in the Security log, and everything is coming from the backup agent running on the server (NetBackup in this case).
How come that a backup agent is creating the events like this? It makes filtering much harder afterwards. The business requirements is to audit Everyone who is adding files to a specific folder, not all the rest of the server. The server
is Win2008 R2.

I feel your pain, I turned on logging on a file server and found the security log filling 4GB in a couple of hours. I think the key is being very selective about what you audit. I found this article useful and it had some powershell and ideas for helping

In my opinion though you really need a third party solution to make this viable, two I've looked at are
Netwrix File Server Auditor and
FileAudit which seem very similar in functionality and ease of use. These basically read in the event log to provide long term archive and reporting on it.

870A-G54 - Possible overheating caused by too much ram? Display driver crashes

Greetings, I have a 870A-G54. I've had multiple issues with several video cards prompting me with a "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error. Each video card having it's own unique fix. I've come to the conclusion that it's another piece of hardware in my system that is the root of the problem; and not the video cards. I've noticed that the CPU during "the crash" hits about 60c; usually when playing video games. After a reboot, I can play games for a couple more hours before getting the error again. I'm running 16gb of ram on Windows 7 ultimate. Yesterday I decided to remove 8gb of ram to see if the CPU got "hot" again (only leaving the sticks in bay 3 and 4 in). I had a 4 hour session of gaming and it didn't crash. Note, I have the latest bios installed and a Power Supply that shouldn't have issues powering the whole thing; 850w gold rated PSU. I'm currently running a 6950 video card, and all of the settings are stock; no over clocking in any way. I have a hardware monitor installed that shows with my 16gb of ram that my cpu idles at 41-43c. During a intense gaming session going up to 60c. Yesterday after removing the other 8gb (two sticks of 4gb), it never went above 50c. My CPU is well ventilated. I've contemplated water cooling the CPU if that would resolve the issue. But I'd hate to fork over more money to an already expensive system if I don't have to. I've also wondered if it's just a bad ram stick, or bad ram bay on the motherboard. :\

So, I conducted several tests over the last couple of days. Now, I understand that mismatching ram could (and probably is) potentially causing the overheat problem. But... I kind of started looking at fundamentals. I have to sets for DDR3. One pair is Patriot sector 5 ram, the other is a set of Dominator ram. Now, I've noticed that I've seem to always have this driver crash issue. But I had always thought it was the video card. Only until recently I started seeing/noticing that the cpu was getting very hot when the driver would crash. On Wednesday I removed the ram in slots 1 and 2 (the Dominator ram), and only ran with the ram in 3 and 4 (Patriot). It ran fine all night. I then ran some heat tests, with the same ram in bays 1 and 2. When the Patriot ram was in those two slots, it ran cooler. When the Dominator was in, it ran hotter. The Dominator's builtin heat-sinks pretty much rest right next the CPU's heatsink (and restrict air flow). It re-arranged the ram so the Dominators are in 3 and 4. And the Sector 5 are in 1 and 2. It worked all night yesterday, CPU didn't get any hotter that 48c while having multiple programs running. Looking at it now, the design of this MB is pretty bad, there should be a little more space between the CPU and the ram. In any case, I will follow up if it continues to crash due to heating issues. I know it's probably cheaper to get new ram, but I'm playing with the idea of just getting a better heat-sink for the CPU (WATER COOLED)!

We just applied some oracle patches and now when when I do a "select trim(userenv('CLIENT_INFO')) from dual", I am getting PETERRA:1389409584404465. All I want/need is JUST the user name (PETERRA). This worked before our DBAs applied the patch(es).
Is there a setting I can change to only get the user name - not the "extra" information?
Please advise.

It's not just the length/additional data, its the difference between the information returned by <tt>CLIENT_INFO</tt> and <tt>CLIENT_IDENTIFIER</tt> (builder session ID and runtime app session ID?)
Oracle didn't respond to that thread.

Too much information, Mail!

Recently my Mail has started showing me a lot of extra information in the emails that I receive. Instead of just showing me who it's from and when it was sent and basic details, it is showing "X-sieve", "Return-Path", "Received" about 5 times, X-Scanned-By, and all kinds of other stuff. How can I get rid of this? Thanks!

Good point! It never occurred to me that the preference could be set inadvertently.
I assumed that repeatedly executing the key sequence ⇧⌘H while a given message was selected was the cause for this, probably when a user intended instead to hide Mail.

Firefox uses too much CPU when displaying flash sites

When I have a site with flash and/or java open, firefox uses minimum 40% of my CPU power, even when I'm doing nothing, when firefox is idle and waiting for input.
P.S. This could be a recent issue, probably related to the newest version of firefox, however I haven't tried downgrading it because I don't have the old version package in my cache. (cleaned it a while ago)

The newest version of flash Plugin only works with Opera 9.5 beta. If you want to use flash with the stable Opera find an older version of the flash plug in.
Thanks for the hint, will keep that in mind in the case I will switch to Opera again (used it for a while because Firefox2 scrolling was bad, with 3 it is much better). Besides, there is a new flash version in the repos.

Too much errors/messages in Web Analysis reports stops workspace

Too often workspace stops to work for the client with the following (example) messages. It seems that too much informational and error messages from reports (like a non working report link or missing member) gives the workspace client so much trouble that login off or closing the browser is the only solution. This seems not the right workaround. Anyone experiencing the same?

it seems that all errors are related to the migrated anaqlyzer report. In the new 931 version less characters are allowed to use than the old 71 version.
In the main name of the reportgroup the migration just rplaces the wrong characters. But links and url insite reportgroups and reports are not changed during migration. Activating (clicking on it) such links is the main cause of the freeze.

How much information is Diagnostics and usage supposed to capture?

I think that the log has too much information in it. It list in plain text what apps I've downloaded that day , how many times I've accessed my camera from the lock screen, the number of times I've entered my pass code correct and not. There's lots more too. Basically every app I've purchased, every time I've charged Or turned on this phone has been noted in the logs. Is this expected? Sorry this is my first iPhone. I've already switched from automatically send to don't send.

I found some info on the web, seems it's all quite normal. And it is sent anonymously, so I don't feel like it matters much now. Thanks.

We had something similar with our SP2013 and IE8 32-bit. It seems that IE8 was in Compatible mode which make it IE7, which is unsupported by SP2013 due to HTML5.
Issue : List view especially datasheet view which has been moved from ActiveX to HTML5 had very slow response on SP2013 and IE8 32-bit.
Resolution : Try Chrome and see if its CSS/Masterpage or SP2013 issues performance issue.
We deployed masterpage and css which was used in our SP2007 site with minor changes, but later we figured out that we need to make major changes in order to work with IE8 and SP2013.
Try Indexing Columns.
check how many look up columns are used.

On my MacBook Pro with Retina Display, Why does the "USB Devices Disabled Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices" keep coming up after I unplugged the usb device?

On my MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15", that I purchased a few weeks ago, started coming up with the following message on my desktop:
"USB Devices Disabled Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices".
I unplugged the device and the message still keeps coming up.
This is what I have done so far to troubleshoot:
I shut down the laptop. When booting up I pressed the command+option+p+r at the same time. It comes up with a menu to reinstall OSX, Get help online, Run Disk Utility, etc. I choose the disk utility and repair the disk and then restarted.
The message keeps popping up and I can't seem to get rid of it. Why does the message keep popping up even though I don't have any devices hooked up to the laptop at all? Any help to reenable my usb ports and get rid of the messaage would be helpful.

I talked to Apple Support and we at least stopped the bleeding, a little bit. These are the troubleshooting steps I did before I contacted Apple Support:
1. Reinstalled OSX
2. Restore the last known good Time Machine Backup.
This did not fix my issue, so I called Apple Support and they told me this:
1. Turn Power off.
2. Wait 15 seconds.
3. Plug in Magsafe adapter.
4. Wait 15 seconds.
5. Hold down the Shift+Option+Power Button for 20-30 seconds.
6. Turn Power back on.
Ok, this stopped the bleeding a little, but as soon as I plugged in a Apple USB Superdrive
and a Apple Mini Displayport to VGA Adapter. This "USB Devices Disabled" pop-up pops up like every 30 minutes now. At least, it is not constantly popping up after I close it, so I guess it will do for the temporary. Going to contact Apple support, later, though to see what else can be done.

27" LED display drawing too much USB power?

I'm having the infamous "USB device is drawing too much power" issue, but in my case it's a little different. Whenever I plugin the USB cord from my 27" LED display to the MacBook, it results in the above error (too much power, USB is disabled).
I've narrowed down the following:
1. Happens on two different MacBook Pros.
2. Happens when LED display is powered from different outlets.
3. It seems 2 of the 3 USB ports on the back of the display are not working.
This started happening after I moved about a month ago and reconnected everything, including a USB Hub I was using previously. I also have a SD card reader, all of which was plugged in and ready to go. When I powered up everything, the lights on the Card Reader and USB were actually pulsing, which didn't look right so I immediately powered everything down. Checked all connections and tried again. Same thing happened, so I unplugged the card reader and USB hub.
At this point, I had my keyboard plugged into the monitor which is how it was prior (before my move). I powered up everything again and while waiting for the keyboard to come on (the keys are illuminated), I noticed it was actually VERY hot - the underside of the keyboard. So I unplugged it and had a little bit of a sonofa***** moment. The keyboard seemed fried. It wouldn't come on for anything, so I went and bought a new one.
Soon as I get home, I plugged the new keyboard directly into the laptop and ignored the external LED display. Everything seemed to work fine, so I tried plugging the external monitor in, but soon as I connected the USB cord... this error pops up every single time.
Is this a USB cord issue (on the LED display) or what? I'm at a loss of what could have happened, since when I moved everything was transported very carefully. The LED display was even in it's original retail box, so nothing was damaged in the move, USB cord included.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I know ultimately I may need to bring it in for repair (still within warranty as I purchased the display in May 2011)... but I'm trying this first incase anyone has any ideas that could help me avoid that hassle.

Smc reset sometimes addresses some power issues.
It is possible that when that first keyboard failed when plugged into the back of the display it somehow damaged the display usb ports.
If you are under warrantee, take it to apple and let them deal with it.

You don't state what iMac it is or what you want to use it for an external display with so we cannot answer the question. But without a bootable drive, no you cannot. However you can get the internal HD replaced or you can connect an external HD and boot from it. Without some basics about the computer it's impossible question to answer.
