  • Convert java code into UML

    hello,
    anybody knows a software convert java code into UML? Classes Diagram.
    for example JBuilder do that.
    // i use Netbeans.

    its not a speed issue although sometimes it can be painfully slow (but now slower that sun one). I constantly found myself getting into infinite error message loops (e.g. "incorrect input"... click ok... "incorrect input"... errr click ok.... "incorrec..." etc etc), and also it (relatively) regularly falls over. I tried to export diagrams as GIFs, and when I imported them into Word they looked ok, but when I printed them they printed negative!! I used about 100g of toner before I realised, and had to go thru all diagrams changing them to JPGs. Plus, I think the interface for 6 is a lot less intuitive than 4.2, and it's trying to be too feature rich. Personally I would never use it as a code editor as it's too big and lumbering. For me, it's a diagramming tool, but it doesn't even put pretty pictures as nodes on deployment diagrams!! I want pictures of workstations, PDAs and databases!! Only kidding...

  • Any tools for converting java class to xml schema ?

    Hi,
    Are there any tools out there that can convert my java class to xml schema. How such tools take care of java collections like HashTable, ArrayList etc. in my class structure. I am not interested in writing any configuration files(like jaxb configuration files, jibx binding xml files etc.) for serving this purpose and the can be able to give me xml schema from the java classes. Please suggest ...
    I am not sure even JAXB 2.0 allows me to do this without writing any jaxb configuration files or annotations in my java class which is not there in JDK 1.4.2
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kr.

    Hi,
    You can convert the EDI file to XML in any of the ways
    1) Using third party seeburger adapters
    2) Conversion agent
    3) Stylus studio.
    I think using java code it will be very difficult.
    Thnx

  • Generate IDL from Java Code, Classes, UML, etc?

    Hi,
    is is possible to generate IDL code from Java Code, Classes, UML, ... using JDeveloper?
    I know this is somewhat reverse engeneering, but it would speed up the migration of our existing Java project...
    Thanks,
    Johan

    Hi,
    is is possible to generate IDL code from Java Code, Classes, UML, ... using JDeveloper?
    I know this is somewhat reverse engeneering, but it would speed up the migration of our existing Java project...Unfortunately it does not. The IDL to Java conversion is handled under the covers by the idl2java.exe included with the database. You might want to search on google for a IDL generator from java source.
    java2iiop (another tool) just generates IIOP stubs from classes and interfaces, but I don't think it creates IDL.

  • Microsoft's tool to convert java to C#?

    I was told a couple weeks ago that there was supposively some kind of tool to convert java source into C#. C# being so similar to Java, I figured it was likely true, but I haven't been able to find this translator anywhere. Does any one know where I can download this tool?
    -Jason Thomas.

    hi,
    if you do find the site, do post the link, as of what i read in some article online, i think micosoft's support to java is only uptil jdk1.1.8, will the tool help convert later version code to c#, i think msdn.microsoft.com should also help. As pointed out gotdotnet does have some stuff on .net, but again there is a lot of hype and lies too...

  • XJC Tool - For building Java classes from Schema

    Hi all,
    I am using XJC tool for Building java classes from Schema.
    Can we have any other tool for generating java classes from Schema?
    Thanks in advance,
    typurohit

    Solved my own problem and forgot to post the answer: the "xsd:import" is also considered as a targetNamespace, so each xsd:import needs a package specified as well when using oracg. It would be helpful if the Oracle documentation had stated that, but it does not point this out.

  • What are the best tools for converting .shg files to HTML image maps?

    After trying several different ways to import our WinHelp
    project into RH HTML, I'm left with recreating the project in HTML.
    There are over 200 .shg files. What's the best tool for converting
    them? Is there a free program that converts them? Or is there a
    better way?
    Lacona

    Yes, I have not been able to import the .hlp file, which was
    my last posted question/issue. I have tried creating a Microsoft
    HTML layout in RH4 Word; it begins to compile and, somewhere in the
    process, just freezes. I've tried importing the .hlp file into RH
    HTML; same result. I've tried creating a new HTML project with the
    .hlp file; same result. If I could import the file, it'd be great.
    Otherwise, I'll need to recreate the entire project, which brings
    me to converting the .shg files. Any ideas?

  • Please, tool for automatic java source conversion?

    Hi,
    Apart from Sun's jilkit, do you know a software a software that could take the
    first java source below as input and automatically produce:
         1) a converted java source file similar to the second file below;
         2) resource files (e.g. mess.properties, mess_es_MX.properties, mess_fr_CA.properties) .
    We know that Sun's jilkit does this but we tried it and it is buggy and
    Sun no more supports it.
    // INPUT FILE
    import java.util.*;
    public class Test
    public static void main(String args[])
    System.out.println("Hello world!");
    System.out.println("You must Walk from " + args[0] + " to " + args[1] + "Km");
    // OUTPUT FILE, we want this done automatically
    import java.util.*;
    public class Test
    public static ResourceBundle resourceBundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle("messages");
    public static void main(String args[])
    System.out.println(resourceBundle.getString("Hello world!"));
    System.out.println(
    java.text.MessageFormat.format(
    resourceBundle.getString("Walk from {0} to {1}Km"),
    new String[]{"" + args[0], "" + args[1]}
    }

    The javadoc tool has no such capability. I believe some IDEs have
    this, but don't know which ones. You could also look at these places:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/javadoc/faq/#docletsfromthirdparties
    http://doclet.com
    If you find a good tool, you might mention it here for others.
    cheers,
    -Doug

    public class ExampleCreate {
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {

           FileReader fr = new FileReader("SST.tmp");
           BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(fr);
           String text = br.readLine();
           int c = 0;
           for(int i = 0; i < size; ++ i){
                     text = br.readLine();
                     c = Integer.parseInt(text);
                     if(c < 0)
                          c = 0;
                     pixels[i] = colors[c];
           br.close();
       return pixels;
        static BufferedImage toImage(int[] pixels, int w, int h) {
            DataBuffer db = new DataBufferInt(pixels, w*h);
            WritableRaster raster = Raster.createPackedRaster(db,
                w, h, w, new int[] {0xff0000, 0xff00, 0xff}, null);
            ColorModel cm = new DirectColorModel(24, 0xff0000, 0xff00, 0xff);
            return new BufferedImage(cm, raster, false, null);
        static void display(BufferedImage image) {
            final JFrame f = new JFrame("");
            f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
            f.getContentPane().add(new JLabel(new ImageIcon(image)));
            f.pack();
            SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable(){
                public void run() {
                    f.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
                    f.setVisible(true);
    }thanks&regards

    According to me just convert ths code to servlet and instead of displaying the image with BufferedImage just stream it (the image) to the browser. This will be useful to catch the general idea.

  • Microsoft & Co: New tool JLCA converts Java to C#

    Microsoft & Co have made a new tool:
    "Java Language Conversion Assistant" (JLCA) converts Java / J2EE to C# / .NET.
    http://www.artinsoft.com/en/home/menu2.asp
    What do say to this?

    From Artisan website:
    "... the [Java] code with no correspondence on .NET has to be rewritten in order to reach Functional Equivalence with respect to the original application. The Functional Equivalence generates the same functionality as the original application, but with the added advantage of being on .NET."
    Well, it looks like a source code translation, but far away from something automatic. But who wants this? Probably people that don't know Java and come from VB world, trying to stole code. Who would buy this? Well, now it comes with C# distribution then it's free, but I am sure it would be attractive to those people that buy methodologies, case tools and so. People that don't trust on their programmers or didn't get good ones. Who cares... :)
