Microsoft's tool to convert java to C#?
I was told a couple weeks ago that there was supposively some kind of tool to convert java source into C#. C# being so similar to Java, I figured it was likely true, but I haven't been able to find this translator anywhere. Does any one know where I can download this tool?
-Jason Thomas.
hi,
if you do find the site, do post the link, as of what i read in some article online, i think micosoft's support to java is only uptil jdk1.1.8, will the tool help convert later version code to c#, i think msdn.microsoft.com should also help. As pointed out gotdotnet does have some stuff on .net, but again there is a lot of hype and lies too...

Microsoft & Co: New tool JLCA converts Java to C#
Microsoft & Co have made a new tool:
"Java Language Conversion Assistant" (JLCA) converts Java / J2EE to C# / .NET.
http://www.artinsoft.com/en/home/menu2.asp
What do say to this?From Artisan website:
"... the [Java] code with no correspondence on .NET has to be rewritten in order to reach Functional Equivalence with respect to the original application. The Functional Equivalence generates the same functionality as the original application, but with the added advantage of being on .NET."
Well, it looks like a source code translation, but far away from something automatic. But who wants this? Probably people that don't know Java and come from VB world, trying to stole code. Who would buy this? Well, now it comes with C# distribution then it's free, but I am sure it would be attractive to those people that buy methodologies, case tools and so. People that don't trust on their programmers or didn't get good ones. Who cares... :) -
Any tools for converting java class to xml schema ?
Hi,
Are there any tools out there that can convert my java class to xml schema. How such tools take care of java collections like HashTable, ArrayList etc. in my class structure. I am not interested in writing any configuration files(like jaxb configuration files, jibx binding xml files etc.) for serving this purpose and the can be able to give me xml schema from the java classes. Please suggest ...
I am not sure even JAXB 2.0 allows me to do this without writing any jaxb configuration files or annotations in my java class which is not there in JDK 1.4.2
Thanks & Regards,
Kr.Hi,
You can convert the EDI file to XML in any of the ways
1) Using third party seeburger adapters
2) Conversion agent
3) Stylus studio.
I think using java code it will be very difficult.

Ant tools: converter java card - class file not belonging to the package!
Hi
I have another problem with converter. Could you help me please again if you have the time?
I have created a directory when I save the class files generated by javac. After That , I use convert in this way:
<convert

EXP="true"
CAP="true"
packagename="testUn/classes/testUn"
packageaid="0x01:0x01:0x01:0x01:0x01:0x01:0x01:0x01:0x02:0x00"

<classpath refid="classpath"/>
</convert>
Here is the answer of the computer:

I do not understand why this unique applet class file does not belong to its own package. Is someone an idea?

Ant tools: converter java card
Hi,
I have already a problem with the ant tools for java card.
I build a build.xml file which has for aim to generate the CAP,EXP, JCA and the *.script files before downloading them on cref.
I have a problem with the command converter. Here you can find my code:
<!--generation of the JCA,EXP and CAP file-->
<echo message = "Generation of the CAP,JCA and EXP files..." />
<convert
JCA="true"
EXP="true"
CAP="true"
packagename="versionZero"
packageaid="0xB0:0x02:0x03:0x04:0x05:0x06:0x07:0x08:0x09:0x00"
majorminorversion="1.0"
verbose = "true">
<AppletNameAID
appletname="versionZero.VersionZero"
aid="0xB0:0x02:0x03:0x04:0x05:0x06:0x07:0x08:0x09:0x00:0x00"/>
<classpath refid="classpath"/>
</convert>
My problem is the following: the command converter say mys package is empty and it is not the case: it contains all the *.java file.
Must I compile the files with javac before using the convert command or it is another problem?
Here is the trace of my build.xml file:
Buildfile: /home/ehoudart/app-manager/VersionZero/src/build.xml

Converting Java class file to .dll
Dear all,
Is there any way to convert a Java class file to a .dll file?
(Background being that there is a software that only allows callouts to DLLs and the method I have developed is in Java so need to convert it to a .dll)
Any insight/advice/pointers are most appreciated.
Thanks much,
DavidHi there,
Yes you can convert a Java Class to DLL file using Microsoft Visual J#.NET (Installation required Visual Studio.NET) you can download it from the microsoft site.
www.microsoft.com/downloads
then go for search below in combo box(Visual J#.NET). After installation open new project select class library. write your java code(not fully supported j2se). build your application. All the Java Code is embeded in dll. Found at e.g. C:/JavaToDll/bin/debug/JavaToDll.dll This is a way to convert Java Code to a dll. frankly speaking i do not like .NET (copy of Java Technology must be baned completely).
Thanks
Please correct if i am wrong.

Please, tool for automatic java source conversion?
Hi,
Apart from Sun's jilkit, do you know a software a software that could take the
first java source below as input and automatically produce:
1) a converted java source file similar to the second file below;
2) resource files (e.g. mess.properties, mess_es_MX.properties, mess_fr_CA.properties) .
We know that Sun's jilkit does this but we tried it and it is buggy and
Sun no more supports it.
// INPUT FILE
import java.util.*;
public class Test
public static void main(String args[])
System.out.println("Hello world!");
System.out.println("You must Walk from " + args[0] + " to " + args[1] + "Km");
// OUTPUT FILE, we want this done automatically
import java.util.*;
public class Test
public static ResourceBundle resourceBundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle("messages");
public static void main(String args[])
System.out.println(resourceBundle.getString("Hello world!"));
System.out.println(
java.text.MessageFormat.format(
resourceBundle.getString("Walk from {0} to {1}Km"),
new String[]{"" + args[0], "" + args[1]}
}The javadoc tool has no such capability. I believe some IDEs have
this, but don't know which ones. You could also look at these places:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/javadoc/faq/#docletsfromthirdparties
http://doclet.com
If you find a good tool, you might mention it here for others.
cheers,

hello,
anybody knows a software convert java code into UML? Classes Diagram.
for example JBuilder do that.
// i use Netbeans.its not a speed issue although sometimes it can be painfully slow (but now slower that sun one). I constantly found myself getting into infinite error message loops (e.g. "incorrect input"... click ok... "incorrect input"... errr click ok.... "incorrec..." etc etc), and also it (relatively) regularly falls over. I tried to export diagrams as GIFs, and when I imported them into Word they looked ok, but when I printed them they printed negative!! I used about 100g of toner before I realised, and had to go thru all diagrams changing them to JPGs. Plus, I think the interface for 6 is a lot less intuitive than 4.2, and it's trying to be too feature rich. Personally I would never use it as a code editor as it's too big and lumbering. For me, it's a diagramming tool, but it doesn't even put pretty pictures as nodes on deployment diagrams!! I want pictures of workstations, PDAs and databases!! Only kidding...

How to use Borland JBuilder9 to convert Java into C?
Hi there!
I know this topic has been discussed since the beginning of time, but I would like to compile a Windows executable (.exe). I have tried all possible tools (e.g. exe4j, JET etc.) to do so, but they all do require a JVM at some level. I heard that Borland JBuilder 9 has the capability to convert Java into C code and then compile it directly. Has anybody done that before? And if so, how does it work? Once you've created a project and written your code, just go to wizards/NativeExecutableBuilder menu.
Configure few stupid things. It's done. Compile it. -
Please tell me some conversion tools to generate java help
hello,
I am doing some project of migration, and I need some tools to convert from windows help file (chm) to java help file.
Anyone has some experience of that?
If not possible, what's the fastest way to do the conversion?
ThanksHello,
You don't mention what format the source files are in, so I'm assuming that you only have access to the actual .chm files and not whatever those were created from. Given that, you'll need a tool that is capable of backward converting Help output into some source format, and then converting that to JavaHelp. I don't know of anything that would convert directly from .chm to JavaHelp.
I believe that RoboHelp is capable of taking Window Help output and converting it backwards to source, and it is also supports JavaHelp, so this would be one tool to investigate.
HelpBreeze is another tool that supports both formats and is also a lot cheaper that RoboHelp.
I apologize for not having first-hand experience with either of these. We currently use a CMS tool, AuthorIT, to single source publish to JavaHelp and other outputs. -
What are the best tools for converting .shg files to HTML image maps?
After trying several different ways to import our WinHelp
project into RH HTML, I'm left with recreating the project in HTML.
There are over 200 .shg files. What's the best tool for converting
them? Is there a free program that converts them? Or is there a
better way?
LaconaYes, I have not been able to import the .hlp file, which was
my last posted question/issue. I have tried creating a Microsoft
HTML layout in RH4 Word; it begins to compile and, somewhere in the
process, just freezes. I've tried importing the .hlp file into RH
HTML; same result. I've tried creating a new HTML project with the
.hlp file; same result. If I could import the file, it'd be great.
Otherwise, I'll need to recreate the entire project, which brings
me to converting the .shg files. Any ideas? -

I'm not sure how to fix it. I also need to pass the p_product_id parameter to the procedure.
Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.Here's how you do an explicit cast:cstmt = (OracleCallableStatement)con.prepareCall("call eaicl_p_requirement.open_rule_dtl(?,?)");

How can i convert java application of bibeans to java applet?
Hi Bibeans PMTeam,
Bibeans provide two type client:java application and web client(JSP/Servlet),because web client's function is weaker than java app,so we want to convert java app to java applet,thus,we can embed java applet into web browser(our system framework is in web browser).
That is,we want one applet client that commution with a server side service(can by socket,just like oracle 9i form service)that provide the data that applet need,or the applet connect to olap server and bibeans catalog server by socket(this need security authentication if olap server,bibeans catalog,web server is not in one machine).
so we need you provide whole resolve scheme,thanks a lot,if this answer is not clarity,please connect:[email protected],thanks a lot!hi tomsong
well, in my experience 20mb are quite large for an applet. also take into account that you need a certain jvm that supports this type of application (my guess is that internet explorers native vm isnt an option)
i personally would tend to deliver the functionality via java webstart (look at the sunsite):so you can centrally manage the software, download it once and opertae an application on your client (i mean an APPLICATION and not an applet)
regarding 2: well but there is NO bibean service in ias: so you have to open the former mentioned jdbc connection to the olap service from your client
for the availability: you have to check with the pm team
in the meantime: what about the following approach: give power users a java application and lightweight or random users a handy html client ?

Is there a tool to convert XML data model into berkeleydb automatically?
Hi all,
Is there already a tool which convert a xml data model definition file into C++ source code with berkeleydb as underlying db implementation?
If there is already one, I don't need to spend the time to code it.
Regards,
-BruceHello,
One suggestion is to take a look at the Berkeley DB XML documentation at:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17276_01/html/toc.htm
and see if you find what you are looking for.
