Top aligning html slices

I want to top align an html slice (for google adwords) and a
rectangle. I cannot get them to align at the top no matter how hard
I try. The rsite was created in firewoks and imported to dw. It is
driving me mad as the site is finished bar this one thing and has
been for ages. If anyone has any suggestions they'll be greatly
appreciated as it keeps vertically centering the rectangle as the
html slice is bigger.:confused.
The url is www.sandramccracken.co.uk - also, I have
triedhighlighted both in fw, clicking on modify, align and top but
it doesn't seem to do anything

Change this -

Top aligning HtmlDataTable components in a HtmlPanelGrid

I need a recommended solution for this scenario.
I have three h:dataTable components in a h:panelGrid as follows:

How can I ensure that the three h:dataTable components are always vertically aligned to top?
Note that the header for the graphic in the template.xhtml for each xhtml has valign style settings so a global setting like this will not work (i.e.
it will top align the dataTables but the header graphic is now mis-aligned.):

HTML Slice causes jumble on page in dreamweaver

So in fireworks I have a header on top, and navbar on the
left. The whole center of the page is white with a large HTML
Slice. As soon as I enter text on the html slice in dreamweaver
everything gets all distorted. I am using 1 pixel transparent
spacer in my html setup in fireworks. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Also if I am not clear I can put up some screenshots.

OK what I really need is your FW PNG file, not screen shots.
The grabs
are helpful but there is no way to experiment or play with
the file. If
you prefer not to post it live to your site, then please
email me off
list with it.
As for the increase font size, as you make the text bigger in
the
browser, it's going to spill out of your faux container
borders,
noticeable at the bottom.
I would also add that this is a REALLY long page. Nice use of
named
anchors but still pretty long.
Fireworks is "not sufficient" because it is not a web page
creation
tool; it's a graphics editor and comping tool. Make your
graphics in FW
and create your final page layouts in DW or another suitable
program.

So i am working in fireworks on a webpage that started life as a PSD file. It is now in fireworks being sliced up to be exported..my question is:
How do I go about making an HTML slice that has a transparency to it? No background color, AKA not picking a color for it, but showing through to the webpage behind it that i designed, and just being able to have my HTML text over the top of that background imagery?

Top align hierarchy dropdown

Dear Gurus,
I have a table inserted with 2 web items, 1 a hierarchy dropdown, the other on the right, a normal dropdown box.
Somehow, although both are valign to top, they do not appear on same level horizontally. In fact the hierarchy one is positioned much to the bottom of the cell. The other dropdown is alright. All characteristic dropdowns are aligned but not the hierarchy one. I checked td tag and seems like no option to top align by pixel.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

JScrollpanel Top align problem

Hi,ALL
I have a JPanel holds two Objects(JTree and JList);
So
The main JPanel is created with FlowLayout.LEFT
I create two JScrollPanel to hold JTree and JList,
since JTree is long and JList is short.
so everytime JList is in the middle of the JScrollPanel.
I want to align them from top, how to add a Viewport to JScrollPanel from TOP-align, not automatically CENTER-align?

At the risk of sounding like the Office Paperclip... it looks like you're writing an explorer.
If so, use a JSplitPane. Set the left component to a JScrollPane containing a JTree and the right component to a JScrollPane containing a JList.

Flash Sitting on top of .html

Hello - I have seen on the front page of Yahoo - on their
advertising section on the right of the page flash movies that when
you mouse over them they spread over to take up a large section
sitting over .html of the page. How is this done? I did a search
for "flash on top of html" - but nothing came up, so I hope I am
not asking a redundent question - if I am I apologize.

The effect you describe it done with Layers which are quite
easy if you familiar with Dreamweaver.
Let me elaborate.
You can not get beyond flash to animate beyond the canvas
boundaries (the movie size defined in your
object embed tags). These are movies that are actually with
transparent background, using WMODE parameter
to achieve that, it makes them appear like they fly all over
the HTML document while they actually just
large movies with no background. Another way to do it, is to
use Wmode and animate the layer itself
rather then making a huge movie canvas to cover the space
WMODE however is known to cause problems, from crashing
browsers to disabling actions ,screwing up buttons
etc... So be aware of it, if suddenly some of the features
stop working, you know what's the reason behind
it. That's why it's commonly use for ads only, minimum user
interaction.

Create a transparent swap image slice over an html slice

I have a 990px x 400px page divided into two halves horizontally.
The left slice is a html slice that consists of an unordered list with hrefs to various pages.
The right slice is an image that I want to put some polygon hotspots with each having a swap image behavior to swap an image over the html slice and I am unsure how to put a transparent image slice over a html slice.
Sure could use some help.

You can't overlap slices in Fireworks, as Fireworks needs to have a clearly defined, single image to export. Overlapping slices or hotspots makes that impossible. This means that, for one thing, you can't put polygon hotspots over your left slice.

Align HTML - Visual Studio = control + k + d

Dreamweaver newbie here. Don't know the exact name to
describe this but in Visual Studio you can align HTML by typing
<control> + <k> + <d>. This makes it easy to see
mismatched tags, etc. Plus it just makes it easier to see the flow
of the HTML. I have looked high and low and cannot find this in
Dreamweaver. Can someone please tell me how this is done in
DW?

"Commands -> Apply source formatting" will format your
code so it will be easier to see the end matching tag if it is
within the same "page" in the code view.
To find matching tags, you can select the tag in the tag
selector (bar at the very bottom of the document window. That
doesn't technically find the matching tag, but it does select the
entire tag, including the closing tag so you can see where it is if
you scroll to the bottom of the selection, or if you hit the right
arrow key, then the selection will move to just to the right of the
closing tag.

Div top align issues

I have a photo that I need to align with the top of a text
box. Something is pushing it down although after staring at it for
an hour and trying valign, clear: both, etc. I'm stumped.

Button not working on top of html

I have a button on top of an html overlay and it's not working.
I did a test and tried swapping out the html overlay for a jpg and it worked fine, but I need to have the html in there.
The button is part of a simple 2 state MSO that is on top of the html.

I had the same problem. But it only occurred in the native android viewer. The iOS version worked as it should.
I had a 2 state MSO, 1st state an empty box, 2nd state a full screen HTML overlay (image gallery).
Sitting on top of the HTML overlay were some 'instructions' ('SWIPE THROUGH GALLERY', and a 'CLOSE' button.)
To make sure the 'SWIPE THROUGH GALLERY' instructions stayed on top of the HTML overlay it had a button action on it... 'Go to state 2' (same state it was on).
The 'CLOSE' button went to the first state.
Only thing that worked was the HTML. It seemed to overide all the DPS functionality, but you were still able to see the instructions.
I tried adding a button outside the MSO on a top layer that would close the MSO but that didn't work either.

Adobe X Standard - Top Aligned Text Box

I am trying to create a form that allows the body of a letter to be placed within an Adobe Form. The body of the letter can cover upto about 70% of that page. Obviously I am trying to do this via a text box but how do I get the text to start at the top of the page. It seems to want to start half way down the page.
How do I set the alignment to the start at the top and work down???

How can I do to make JDialog activate or on the top in Html?

Hi all,
I used JApplet, which can be called from html file, to show a dialog (JDialog). I do not use model mode, my code likes that
myDialog m_dlg = new myDialog();
m_dlg.show();
(myDialog extends from JDialog)
The problem is that when the browser, which shows applet, is inavtivate and then activate, my dialog is not there in the page that it should be there like before inavtivate
I have to switch Alt+Tab to choose its Dialog in the taskbar to make dialog show again.
Is it possible to make the dialog always be front or on the top of the html file of its Applet?

After several months I try to make one simply website in FW.
I have one problem now - How to have backgroud and above have
a HTM slice.

Think about your methodology. Most people use FW to create
their site
graphics, but use DW to build the HTML. FW HTML will get you
into deep
trouble if you don't understand what its shortcomings are.

DW 8 - Inline Frame TOP alignment

Greetings,
I have a table with couple columns. Left column has Iframe of
text links. Basically my navigation links for my site. Next colums
are just editible regions.
Problem is that my left cell with iFrame top text is lower
than my next columns text. Can not figure out why? I am not an
expert. Putting in code as someone will likely ask for it. Not up
on a site yet.
