  • Apple's 10.6 software compatibility kb document a total joke.

    Umm...
have people looked at this doc http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3258 ?
would i be forgiven for suggesting this article was a joke?
    I hardly need say why...
(it has not even been modified since Aug 28!)
    really quite extraordinary.

    is there anything missing?!
    now i think you're joking!
look for every piece of software in this list which does not have an OK status http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
Presumably almost every one you find should be in Apple's list of incompatible software. Is it?

  • Creative "Customer Support" Is A Total Joke

I've had my Zen MX for about 2 months now & have e-mailed customer support 3 times regarding 3 seperate issues. The routine is pretty much the same in every case:
    . I e-mail them with a problem
    2. They scan my e-mail, pick out a couple of key words, & refer me to one or two of the FAQ's.
    3. I respond that I have previously read all the FAQ's and that the ones they referred to had nothing at all to do with my problem.
    4. They respond with "I don't have an answer at this time but your problem will be referred to our "escalation team."
    5. Some one from the "escalation team" suggests that I do the clean-up & reboot procedure.
    6. I respond that I've already done that.
    7. They respond with "you need to update your firmware".
    8. I respond that I've already done that.
    9. They respond with they have no solution for my problem but that it will be referred to the technical people.
    0. I never hear from them again.
I would strongly suggest that Creative fire all the support people and with the money they save, make some improvements to their products such as:
    a) Get rid of that horrible Centrale program and give us one that actually works once in a while.
    b) Fix the firmware so that music (or videos) in the main player integrate with files in the memory card.
    c) Improve the product so that it doesn't die 0 seconds after the warrenty expires.
BTW, the good folks on this board helped me with all 3 of my issues...thanks.

Re: Creative "Customer Support" Is A Total JokeI see they haven't changed at all.
A couple of years ago I had a problem with the headphones connection on my Creative MP3 player due to it having been dropped. I sent off an email requesting the name and address of their nearest service agent to see if it could be repaired. Their reply was to ask what was wrong with it. I told them to which they replied that it was not under warranty any more. I advised them that I was aware of that and was happy to pay for any repairs. Their answer was that it was not under warranty and could not be repaired.
Remember that the original question was for the name and address of a service agent.
From this one can draw one of two conclusions. Either they have no service agents or they are all totally incompetent.
With nothing to loose I oulled the player apart and with a $.50 tube of super glue and 5 minutes of my time it was up and running perfectly. 8 months later it gave up the ghost and was replaced with an Ipod which has performed faultlessly.

  • BT Infinity getting to become a Joke.

Had BT infinity for around 2 months now, first couple of days absulutely fine, no issue. With a upload of 6mb and a download of 36mb i thought hey Life will be easy. I play on game consoles alot and that was one of the prime reasons why we bought Infinity/upgraded from previous broadband speeds. So okay I'm in a Game and its lagging like crazy, I am never hosts of games i lose out to that to people with poorer internet speeds and connections (People on Plus Net with 0.2mb down and up?!) My Wireless keeps dropping on my Laptop and Xbox causing me to have to reset my Modem (which is the only way to resolve it) With slogans such as 'More responsive Gaming' and 'Most Reliable Wireless speeds/connections' its a total Joke. They arent anything like it says. Its so frustrating.
Edit: Asking me to do a speedtest is pointless, BT speed tests under estimate your speed by a large margin, speedtest.net gives me a more rounded average of what I'm 'supposed' to be getting:

What router are you using? the hh3? i've had many issues with wireless on that router and chose to swap it out.

  • Apps are assigned to wrong Apple ID

Just bought my very first Apple purchase after resisting years of bombardment of propoganda from my friends and colleagues.
They all told me how "easy" they are and how they "just work".
Not so, I find this new 27" iMac so restrictive in what I can and cannot do and fear i've made a mistake making the apple plunge.
Please make me realise that I haven't as I want to love it as much as every other apple owner seems to love their product!
So, I bought it, I switched it on, played about with it. Then my girlfriend wanted a go. She set up a different user account and then on that user account she registered her Apple ID.
Now, the next day, i create a Apple ID.
I then go to the app store because there is a message saying updates available for imovie and iphoto. When I try to update it says the updates are only available for her apple ID and that I must log in with her account. I also tried to 'accept' these apps and it said i couldn't because they were already registered to her. It also said if i want to update them i must buy them but i can't buy them because it says that the app is already installed, plus I refuse to buy them as i already own them after shelling out £1500 for the computer itself!
Why do apple feel it necessary to restrict the update of the app to just my girlfriend. It seems a total joke to me. Why stop the owner of the computer from interacting with his or her machine just because sombody else who will use the machine owns some of the software from a previous purchase years ago?
Please help me....i simply don't know what to do as I have never really used a Mac and will be unbelievably dissapointed if I can't sort this. I don't want it (apple) to be a let down of my expectations.
    Thank you.
    JoeSto

    MichelPM ,
I couldn't do an initial setup of my AppleID because yesterday it (according to the apple guy on the phone) the Apple ID network was down. Therefore everytime I tried to regitser a new apple ID under my own email/name it wouldn't allow me. Today, apple phoned me and told me the problem had been recotofied and I was now able to create a new apple ID, so thats's what I did.
That is why i couldn't do the initial setup of the computer (apple ID account myself). I just had a go of the computer (ie internet and had a look around it's UI). I'm not saying Macs suck, I'm saying that they are incredibly retrictive due to the fact that my girlfriend bought a mac over 5 years ago shouldn't and now I cannot update my own mac here and now in the present day. It was down to the fact that apple wasn't able to provide me with a apple ID creation service due to a fault with their system. It had nothing to do with my impatience, my girlfriend having a go or my im competence.
CSound1, of course I understand that, it's not suppose to meant in a literal sense. I can't discuss this with you if you don't even understand that rhetoric. You also have to understand that not eveyone on this planet is computer minded and even if they are they may not have been brought up on apple systems.
That is why (so I hear) that apple are so good, because they do not prejudice or discriminate their customers unlike yourself, who thinks its funny to poke fun at the fact that I may know less than you about the apple world.
As i said before Dr Jeff is the only person here who is actually offering adivice as opposed to poking fun or abuse.

  • 2011 Macbook Air - Multiple logic board failures - possible causes?

I have a 2011 i7 macbook air - 7 months old.  About a month ago I went to use the computer after allowing it to sleep and it was totally dead.  Apple authorized repair center said the logic board failed and needed to be replaced.  Fast forward a month and I finally get the machine back.  It works fine for 6 hours, I put it to sleep, and soon as the screen went out, I hear a pop, fizzle, then the machine is dead again.  The authorized repair center wants to replace the logic board again, which should get me up and running, but its not likley that that is the root CAUSE of the problem here, since it happened twice now.  I suggested to them that perhaps the power adaptor, battery, or some other component is the issue and they don't think so.  I'm located overseas, and every repair attempt takes 1 month b/c of parts (total joke if you're listening apple!!).  My biggest concern is that they replace the logic board again, I'm out of commission for 2 months now, and it just fails again.  Does anyone have any suggestions on the possible causes of this problem?
As FYI - I'm using the same power outlet and power strip with another laptop and haven't had any similar issues.  Thanks for the help!

I have logic board problems too. I have had a late 2010 mac book air for 2 and half years. Its been a great machine in general - although it did go back within the warranty period for the track pad
Now it has logic board failure - symptons are the sound going and  the battery is dead and it is unable to charge which means every time you put the power lead on the computer thinks it is starting from scratche.
I have been quoted over £400 for the repair!  Like the above post I do not believe that this part should fail - and if it does then it is a major design problem and Apple should be doing something for us. I just dont know where to start.
I have used macs for 14 years and owned eight along the way. Most have them have lasted many years with full functionality  the record was my G3 imac which was still working after 13 years.
I really cant believe the situation I am in and rather think I have bought my last mac!

  • Is There A Way To Loop Audio Using Edge Commons?

    Hi,
I've been getting on really well using Edge Commons to add audio to my animations (fantastic bit of kit, by the way - thank you simonwidjaja !).
However, while playing a sound via the trigger EC.Sound.play("mySound"); works brilliantly for individual instances of sound I've wholly failed to find a way to get sound files to loop.
I've been struggling with this for an age, now, and really haven't got anywhere at all. I know that Edge Commons integrates SoundJS and I know that SoundJS provides a facility to loop audio but I can't see a way to make it happen via the Edge Commons script.
SoundJS' method seems to be couched as:
    static SoundInstance play ( value , interrupt , delay , offset , loop , volume , pan )
And in Edge Commons I can find:
    var instance = SoundJS.play(soundId, SoundJS.INTERRUPT_NONE, 0, 0, false, 1);
which I assume (perhaps incorrectly?) relates to the aforementioned SoundJS.
I'm guessing (as has been mooted by resdesign in another post) that I need to edit the following, which appears in creation complete, in order to make looping happen but I just can't seem to get anything I try to work.
    {src: assetsPath + "mySound.mp3|" + assetsPath + "mySound.ogg", id: 'mySound'},
Of course, I may simply be on the wrong track altogether; so as ever, any thoughts and ideas will be very gratefully received x

    Hi Emmy,
    1. can I use buzz to create sound in edge compositions destined for the ipad?
Yep. Although there still exists the MASSIVELY annoying issue whereby iOS insists on a user-push to activate the play of any audio. Apple's assertion is that users shouldn't have to worry about being forced to download unsolicited audio which may end up costing them dear if they are on a chargeable 3G connection; so they've effectively disabled anything that is, or could be described as, an autoplay function. This means that instead of being able to include autoplay of audio  - to, say, have a sound track automatically start playing when an animation begins - the playback of said track needs to be initiated by the user.
For example, the code: sym.getComposition().getStage().YourSoundName.play(); would need to be placed on a clickable button as opposed to a trigger on the main timeline or the timeline of any of your symbols.
In essence you have to provide the user with an opportunity to confirm that 'yes I want to hear this'.
While the sentiment behind not wishing users to incur unwarranted expense is understandable (and laudable) the whole concept is a huge pain for animators and a total joke-killer and best. Think of it in terms of Man Slips On Bananaskin... instead of users automatically/seamlessly being able to hear a comedic associated 'whoooooop' sound they have to click a button in order to do so. 'Do you want to hear an amusing noise associated with this bit of stage action? Click for yes'. Obviously one doesn't actually have to couch such a question in actuality, but you get the drift (The Death Of Fun!). As a 'semi' workaround you may want to try experimenting with mouseOver triggers on invisible buttons.
    2. will users need internet access to hear the sounds each time?  In other words do the sounds have to be called from an exteral source each time they are played, or are they part of the exported file and therefore only downloaded once.  (I understand that Ihave to manually include the audio file in the exported Edge file).
Not quite sure about this one as I ended up working on some entirely different stuff; so didn't persue the Apple annoyances long enough to find out more.
    3. can I use my own mp3 sounds, and if so, how?
If you mean, can you use mp3s that are not originated by you (i.e. iTunes tracks etc.) then essentially no. Not unless they're copyright/royalty free or you've obtained a license to use them.
If by your own mp3 sounds you mean audio that you've originated yourself, then yes, of course
It makes sense to produce both an mp3 and an ogg version of each sound, to ensure maximum compatibility with regard to user playback. Other than that, simply name your files, place them in a folder called 'audio' (for example) and then, in Edge's 'compositionReady', include the following code for each sound (changing the names accordingly):
    sym.YourSoundName = new buzz.sound("audio/YourSoundName", {formats: [ "ogg", "mp3" ]});
    sym.YourSoundName.bind('loadeddata', function(e){
         var stage = Edge.getComposition(compId).getStage();
Then whenever you want to play a certain sound just use: sym.getComposition().getStage().YourSoundName.play(); on a trigger.
    Hope this helps

  • Is there a way to reach remote files with KDE? [Solved, I hope]

I cant reach anything remote any longer. At first I noticed that Kate was unable to open remote files. But there is more, I cant even navigate on my own network. Before the update my network was almost as an internal disk and now its completely useless. The plasma 5 file navigator is a total joke. Network isn't even an option there, only local files.
Is there a fix to this or will there be updates with a solution? I have tried various tips and installed kio-xxx.
My current KDE version is 4.14.6.

You wrote that you're on KDE4 in your first post. This would mean you currently have a mix of qt4 and qt5 apps running.
I know Kate was ported to qt5 already, as well as gwenview, not sure about others. Those won't be able to display the native dialog anymore, because they only include the latest version of the Qt dialog, while you need the older one.
I remember reading about Kate not being able to read from network files because it needs the qt5 version of the framework to do so.
The solution to get that and the native file dialogs would be to either
    - update to kde5
    - downgrade the affected apps to the last version which used qt4
Personally, I currently froze all my kde packages at their kde4 versions, because kde5 was running less that stable on my test machine. This is usually frowned upon, because you're missing out on any security/bug fixes the newer versions might contain.
But in case of kde5, I'd rather have a stable system that might or might not be vulnerable, than an unstable one.
Also, updating to kde5 actually reverses the problem from what I remember: you will get the native dialog for all apps already ported to kde5 and the generic one for all that have not yet been ported.

  • The verizon company is the worst ever!!!!!!

I am totally at my wits end with this whole verizon sham.  I was previously with another cell company that I never, ever had any problems with.  However, due to family circumstances I needed to add a phone on my account for one of my children and, low and behold, verizon was the only one that approved me for a family plan without an outrageous per-phone deposit.  So, happy for that, I signed my daughter and I with a verizon family shared everything plan. I got two new phones for basically free,  I got the basic service on each phone, and then the shared data plan, and insurance, and we were on our way -- or so I thought!
Well, from the very first month -- actually about two-and-a-half weeks -- there has been nothing but problems and expensive problems with the so-called business.  To start - one adult and one child sharing a family plan -- Verizon sends two bills looking to me to dupicates -- I pay one of them and discard the other -- so service gets interrupted.  I call customer service -- oops, looks like somebody (on their end) set up the account wrong and has my phones being billed separately. Next - somehow I am being charged $5.99 (per month) for some "extra" verizon navigation service that I did not ask for, did not need, and certainly did not want for an extra fee. I call to check on this and have this fixed -- another verizon oops.  After just the first month, verizon had $114 in account adjustments they had to make because of their stupid (or greedy) so-called mistakes.
However, with just our second month coming up there is already problems -- somehow two weeks into the cycle, the data plan I chose of 4GB of this supposed 4G LTE was already being exceeded -- I call up yet again to see what the hell is up and once again review all the billing problems -- oh, somehow our data plan was only set a 2GB and we were over by way less than a GB (hence my 4GB choice would have been plenty). So for a nominal fee of $10 they will bump my data plan to 4GB instead of charging me the $15 per GB overage fee.  Oh, joy! It was their mistake in the first place. So the bill comes due -- I pay it, all is good. NOT!  One week later this money sucking company call verizon somehow and for some reason decides to reverse and reject my payment -- blammo, phones shut off again -- I call up to ask what's up -- oops, my payment was some $50 short -- I pay that -- they turn the phones back on -- we review everything again, and customer service and I agree all things are good -- and bam, the very next day phones are off again.
My point with this is that every time they interrupt service, their fault or mine, there is an additional $15 per phone charge -- I had this charge three times in only our second month of "service" -- that is an additional $90 in fees right there.  When I signed up, I was told that my monthly bill would be in the area of $190 TOTAL (for both phones), excluding the first month, of course, because we all have learned that the first month includes all kinds of bogus charges, fees, and tips!  So, then, why have my bills been no less that $340 every **** month.  I had spent more time on my lovely new phone with verizon customer service reps than any other person at all.  Every month for three months there was discussions about the plan, the usage, the fees -- blah, blah, blah --
Well, what other fitting thing could then happen but low and behold some low-life scum steals my phone and immediately runs my data plan over 8GB somehow (i can't even fathom how). So I call verizon to tell them and file a claim on the insurance that I was paying for (the total replacement premium)  only to find out that -- oops, I didn't  have insurance on the phone since the first month's adjustments. So I interrupted my service (and haven't been able to get into "myVerizon" online since that day. I told my daughter she wouldn't be having her phone anymore -- when they shut it off, I am done. I have not had a phone since that point since I definitely cannot afford the $599 cost of another phone.  I am on a fixed income and have been concerned about an out-of-control bill since day one. So, verizon this is my words to you:
SINCE I NO LONGER HAVE A PHONE TO TELL YOU AGAIN FORGET IT, CANCEL IT, I DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOUR CROOKED, RIP-OFF COMPANY, AND I CANNOT GET ON LINE TO TELL YOU IT THROUGH "MYVERIZON" (that title being a total joke to begin with!), IT APPEARS THAT PERHAPS THIS IS THE ONLY FORUM I MIGHT REACH SOMEBODY BY ---------- CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. QUIT CONTINUING TO BILL ME FOR THE SERVICE ON A PHONE THAT I NO LONGER HAVE AND THE OTHER SHUT OFF BY YOU. QUIT E-MAILING ME THAT MY BILL IS READY FOR VIEWING AND PAYING ON-LINE AT "MYVERIZON blah, blah, ********" BECAUSE YOU WON'T LET ME ON TO LOOK AT MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE I NO LONGER HAVE AN "active" VERIZON PHONE NUMBER (praise the Lord for that!). AND FURTHERMORE, TAKE YOUR $1,463 OR SOME RIDICULOUS CURRENT BILL AND SHOVE IT STRAIGHT UP THE TAILPIPE OF EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN CHARGE OF RUNNING YOUR LOUSY, GOOD-FOR-NOTHING, RIP OFF, SO-CALLED BUSINESS.
You should all be sued out the *** for the way you are robbing people.  It is straight criminal and if the average Joe Q. Citizen pulled the same **** they would be jailed and have their freedom stripped from them.  However, because you hide under some *********** fine print and claim to be a business, you steal, lie, cheat, and swindle from people every single hour of every single day and you rob people of their freedoms (from money, services, peace of mind, choices, etc.) and somehow get away with it without losing anything -- but customers, and you don't deserve them anyway.  So you feel free to just keep on charging me for whatever you are going to charge me for.  I will not give verizon another dime my money from my fixed income. I will not.  You have lied, cheated, defrauded and just plain been a horrible business and I will tell anyone and everyone I come in contact that to stay away from verizon -- don't go to them and if you are with them, get out -- they will take everything from you and somehow make it your fault!
BOYCOTT VERIZON -- START A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THEM.  LET'S STAND UP FOR THE CITIZENS AND BLOW THIS BOGUS MONEY-HUNGRY POOR EXCUSE OF A COMPANY OUT OF THE SKY AND FORCE THEM OUT OF BUSINESS -- or start doing business in a neighborly fashion.

Just from this paragraph, it puts your whole story in question. You make it sound as if Verizon is charging you something EXTRA to fix one of their mistakes. The 4GB plan IS $10 more expensive than the 2GB plan. The $10 "nominal fee" is just the price difference between the 2 plans. This is not just some charge to fix a Verizon mistake. If you want the larger plan, you must pay the larger fee.
You are either not explaining your situation correctly, you are leaving out some "other" information which would fully explain the situation OR you are purposely trying to make Verizon look bad for something they are not actually doing. You say Verizon "decides to reverse and reject" your payment, but then go on to say you shorted your payment. You then go on to say you then paid the part your shorted. So did you just pay the part you shorted, or did you then pay the ENTIRE amount? If you then only paid the part you shorted, I guess Verizon DID NOT "decide to reverse and reject" your payment. They accepted your previous payment and shut off your phones because you did not make the full payment. This is YOUR mistake, NOT VERIZON'S mistake. Even if you did pay the full amount again at that point including the part you had originally shorted from the 1st payment, it is still YOUR mistake.
I find it hard to believe you did not have these kinds of problems with your other provider since they were forcing a CURRENT customer to pay an "outrageous per-phone deposit" in order to add 1 line to your account. It appears as if Verizon should have done the same.
Of course, you do have the option of paying or not paying your current bill. However, it is YOUR responsibility to do so and it will only get larger if you do not contact Verizon CS by calling them(or going into a Verizon store) and cancelling your service EVEN if you do not have an active phone on one of your lines and your service is cut off for failure to pay. When you cancel your service, you will ALSO have 2 ETF's added to your already large bill.
Good luck with your situation, it appears as if you will need it.

  • Any ideas on getting airplay to work with u-verse router?

Ok, so my airplay is just horrible on my apple tv/iphone/macbook pro combo.
Airplay is a total joke, it will play to the apple tv for maybe 20 seconds and then it just gets all choked. The "remote" app does the same thing. I upgraded my internet connection thinking that at&t would come out and give me a new router too, but i guess they just bump the download speeds to the router. I'm pretty sure that the router is the problem. It's a "2wire" 802.11g supplied by att.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm going to call the support number for the apple tv, but it's been my experience that support people are just looking at the same simple trouble shooting info that is posted on the internet. So i'm not expecting much.

well i did get airplay to work better by trying all the channels in the router and settling on channel 4 as being the most reliable.
Now if I could only get netflix to stream without stopping every minute or so. We have a 12mbps internet connection. Which is about 4 times faster than the standard At-t connection speed
I still think that this stuff requires a much better router than most people have. My router is a G router, and it seems maxxed out. I wish i knew that things would work well with a faster N router.

  • IOS issue 4005 error Iphone 5 HELP!!

I have had my phone a while and its been working great.  I was using the phone in IOS7 and again no issues.  I have updated to IOS 8 and now it keeps telling me to connect to Itunes and when I do I get an error message with code 4005.
I took the phone to an apple guru and the respose was an absolute joke.  They are trying to tell me that (even tho the phone worked perfectly before the update) the IOS update has detected a hardware fault and will not restart.  They are then saying i need to pay them £200 to get a new Iphone 5!!!!!  Sorry Apple send an update which they recommend you do and then it renders your phone useless, then I have to shell out £200 to get a new phone!!!!
Can anyone help me with this error message and how to fix it cause Apple and their staff have been useless!!  Dont think i will be staying with Apple come updgrade time.  Total Joke.

thanks for the suggestions, i tried the ideas you suggested but i dont even get a camera showing for the rear camera, i also noticed the torchlight no longer works.  i did all the steps but no luck.
So I took my camera to the genius bar this weekend as well as walking through various steps with the apple guys in ohio support over the net.
With the guys at the genius bar, after i insisted that it must be software as the rear camera stopped working only after the softwre update, they continued to assure me it was hardware and talked me into letting them replace the camera,  they then took it to the back and tried fixing a camera and 30 minutes later came out and said the rear camera is no longer being detected and wanted me to replace the motherboard for yet more money.  im glad they didnt charge me for the new camera though as it still didnt work.
anyway the motherboard idea i rejected as it was just 2 months out of warranty and had only stopped working the day after the release of 7.0.2, so im going to wait until the next few releases to see what happens, as i dont believe for a second its hardware.  i expected a stock answer from apple and its exactly what i got even after my explanation of how it was working the day before the release.  not overly impressed with the whole process.
i wanted to back down to 7.0.1 to confirm the camera still works but they said no chance so i cant even see if it still works ouside 7.0.2.  anyway will update if i get any further progress.

  • Nokia 5230 - US Version Unlocked

    Hello All,
I recently purchased a Nokia 5230 Unlocked US version. I am having problems with dropping calls! I am on the AT&T GSM/WCDMA Network. When I got the phone, I upgraded the firmwares, ran all the updates etc. Seemed good for several days then I started to drop calls or get errors when trying to dial out... Network Busy/Connection Errors ETC. So I tried a new sim card... Seemed maybe to help a bit but still having issues. I think the issue maybe related to other issues Ive been reading up on other unlocked nokia devices... A firmware upgrade is needed for switching between GSM/WCDMA/HSPA.
Is there anything else I can try before I give up and send this back to Amazon? Im deeply saddened my e71x NEVER DROPPED calls on AT&T.
The Nokia 800# Support is a total joke. No Help at all. This is also very sad. This is my 6th Nokia phone.

    bump!

  • How to convert RAW into jpgs?

I used to use Capture One by Phase One to process my RAW images into jpgs, when I had WinXP on my pc. With my new computer, it has the new 64 bit, with Win Vista. Now, using Capture One is a total joke. You can't possibly get anything done.
How can I use Photoshop CS4 to process RAW images into jpgs? I don't see a way that I can apply changes on one image, to others in a particular group. With Capture One when it was good on WinXP, I could make changes to one, lighten/brighten, sharpen, change the color temp, etc., apply it to all the desired images, then click to output a certain size, say 5x7 at 200 ppi, hit the button, and it would do it. I don't see that I can do any of that in Photoshop, short of using the ever-annoying set and action, then automate.
Also, for professional work, where I'm processing hundreds of images at a time, is there other software I should look at, like Lightroom, Gimp, etc.?

Use Bridge and Camera Raw:  Navigate Bridge to the folder with your raw files.  In Bridge, select/highlight the images you wish to process and save, then Open in Camera Raw (File > Open in Camera Raw, or Ctrl-R, or right click and Open in Camera Raw from context menu). Your selected raw images will open in camera raw in Filmstrip view.  Make any desired camera raw adjustments then, still in camera raw, do Select All then at bottom Save Images...  which will bring up a save options box in which you can choose jpegs or tff, where to save, and other options.

There are several ways to make changes to one image in camera raw then apply the changes to other raw image files.  In camera raw filmstrip mode, select the images you want to apply an adjustment to then apply the adjustment to the first of those images and it will be applied to all the others that are selected.  Or apply adjustments to the first image of a series then add additional selections and use camera raw's Synchronize.  Or, make adjustments to first image in series then click done, which will return you to Bridge.  In Bridge, select the image you want to copy camera raw adjustments from then Develop Settings > Copy Settings.  Select all the target images that you want to receive these settings then Develop Settings > Copy Settings.  Both Copy settings and ACR's Synchronize will bring up a selection box where you can check which settings you want to copy.
You can select save ppi in camera raw.  You can use Camera Raw's crop function can get files to a desired aspect ratio if they are not already there.  Crop can be copied to other files via Synchronize or Develop settings - Copy if that is useful.  Getting a specific size in pixel dimensions may take another step.  Camera Raw offers a limited set of file sizes (in its Workflow Options).  If you want other than these, then one methodis to save images from Bridge using Photoshop's image processor.  After making camera raw adjustments and returning to Bridge, select desired raw images then Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor...  Set size and output options in the image processor.

  • Bug in wishlist

There is a reproduceable error in the pre-listening function in the wishlist.
The items from the cart in iTunes 8 are now in my wishlist (great!)
If I start any prelistening a song and delete some (at least one) items with the (X) next to the buy-button in the wishlist the pre-listening button of the remaining songs has no more function. It is probably a sort or ID problem in the wishlist if a item is deleted.
Hope this will be fixed in the future.
    Chris

My Wish List consists entirely of complete albums rather than individual songs/tracks. Thankfully I don't suffer from the display glitches other posters have described, but there are still other annoyances which are a source of constant irritation.
As another poster mentioned, sorting by 'Date Added' is a total joke, so I prefer to sort my Wish List items by Release Date instead. Unfortunately, the iTunes design team don't seem to think this is a good idea, since whenever the Wish List refreshes (after a purchase, for instance, or after clicking the Back button) the display reverts to Date Added again. Imposing a default view in this way is unacceptable, and just plain bad interface design.
I urge everyone with Wish List issues to make their concerns known by providing feedback:

  • Losing all my recordings due to an upgrade

I've just been informed that I will lose all my recordings due to an upgrade in 30 days time. Unfortunately the 2 weeks prior to this I am on holiday and wanted to record things whilst I'm away. Frankly, I am appalled that any upgrade should make us lose recordings and will therefore cancel my contract, seek compensation and change to someone that understands customer needs!

Will this upgrade affect ALL BT Vision users I would love to know why I have not been notified?
I am going on Holiday and want to record the Tour de France whilst away so this is terrible news
    Can someone tell me:
A: WHEN is this upgrade due to take place?
B: how do I get the information you have been sent?
c: If I upgrade myself now will I be exempt?
On top of all the other BT Vision service problems I am experiencing: The rubbish BT Vision box locking up daily! - All my recordings ending 5 mins early! -  BT Vision box reporting no iternet connection when my PC and tablet both have wireless conectivity through the same home hub! this is the worst news possible.
I am totaly fed up with BT Vision already and I have only had it for two weeks!
Time to go buy a seperate HDD so I can just record off my TV directly!
What a total joke and waste of my money BT Vison is turning out to be.
